I am not a SDAdventist but her story pierced my heart and I grieve for her ever relentless agony she had to endure since childhood and yet she stood her ground and refused to deny God till her last breath.I want to bitterly weep for her. It is after reading about the life of Ellen G. White's depression and her struggle with being a normal teenager that I found the courage to return to Northeastern Academy as an African American Adventist teenager dylexcia to complete my education from high school with honors.
I have experienced depression and cured with medication, talk therapy, and prayer. The devil attacks people to discourage you from seeking God. Depression hurts!!
Or, one has endured horrific events, or has a biochemical imbalance in their brain, or received an unfortunate brain injury ~~ which also contributes to hallucinations, often of a religious nature… She could not write elementary school lessons, but can direct the world on what they must do to be saved?!?!?

I've had a privilege to live with the friend of mine who's a pastor we were housemates. Every morning and every night we would read the daily devotions that she wrote for a period of 1.5 years. That was a true discipleship and every day I would go door to door to sell the Christian literature, my two coworkers came to the church and are preparing to get baptized soon, praise God for that.. what I wanted to say it's that every person who Criticize Ellen White because of the impossibility to reach that level of spirituality that she writes about are simply refuse to live for God and to exercise self-denial which is very difficult for "average Christian" to live by even amongst Adventist. Don't criticize Ellen White- she lived that life style that she wrote about and there are a lot to be thankful for that wonderful woman who encouraged you to be a sincere Christian.
