Although I have listened to this audiobook over and over, it was today I took the time to slowly take in its teachings. I must say it is a very much needed teaching in today's generation. I am on chapter 4 as I am taking notes along the way and I pray that as I implement its teachings, I will be given the power to resist temptation and be fully obedient.
Maria Espinosa Agreed, the concept of obedience isn't spoken of much nowadays. While the rebellious nature of the flesh is actually encouraged in the form of "freedom"... Sad times we live in.
His books are greatly needed in today's society and for the younger ones who are being taught, the teachings of christ made up to date for this modern times. If only they can go back to these guys of long time ago who rightly divided the word of truth.
Obedience does not fill pocket books or tithing bowls. While we all struggle with out 'hard' American lives. Jesus is literally breaking forth in the Iranians because of thier obedience mindset. Google Sheep among Wolves and watch on youtube. What a beautiful display of Christ in the church in 2020!
I really wish there was more people like this. My first book was Absolute Surrender where it really changed my life and then humility. But now my Christian walk has hit a halt and I seek for answers and I know now that it’s all because I haven’t been obedient enough. I don’t know if y’all ever felt like God showing you this and revealing it to you and only feeling so deeply saddened that it feel like your far away. I pray for this teaching to guide me
I can't understand how anyone could dislike this book, because if you love to obey, you won't be able to put a thumbs down!! Blessed be God for he enables us to love and obey his Holy commands!!💞😍 Thank you for uploading this heart warming book. It steers up my desire to obey him more and more!!
They dislike this video because they had no intention of doing what it says in the first place. You have to DECIDE to disobey God in order to disobey Him. The Israelites demonstrated this attitude over and over again - so God labeled them a STIFFNECKED people. I believe, this is why the HOLOCAUST took place-the reason they were run out of their land and were in captivity over and over again.

This book is life changing. I recall saying the very same thing after reading Murray’s book on HUMILITY. I never realized I was holding back. I’d been telling God, I’d do MY BEST. Wow what a wretched offering to my Lord and Savior. I am committing 110% EVERYTHING..... NO holding back. Bc I do believe God is able. I have no righteousness, what I have is from Christ and He gets the glory. So Lord I commit myself UNTO DEATH, COMPLETE OBEDIENCE. EVERYTHING IS YOURS ALONE AND I WILL OBEY ....even unto death. To Your glory... my Savior, my Love.
Many will say to Jesus, 'Lord, Lord' Jesus will say to them 'I never knew you', and call them 'workers of iniquity' (lawlessness and disobedience) and tell them to DEPART. Murray's teaching is right on target. Obedience and keeping the Commandments of God is key to a relationship with Him.
That is a point each and every one of us must come to. All praises to the Lord when our eyes are open to see our lack, and the need, of following Jesus. And what He tells us to do, surely He will help us do.

Chapter 1 begins at 3:03. This book is now found in stores under the title "The Blessings of Obedience". My copy is by Whitaker House, 1984. An excellent book. I don't know how to account for it but the language in The Blessings of Obedience is different, though the essential message is the same. There are fewer words and more commonplace today than during Murray's life so I think that "Blessings" must have been edited to make it easier to read.

I for one will boast in the perfect obedience of one....the Lord Jesus Christ!! May I never be found in my own obedience/righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ The righteousness which is from God by Faith.
Boasting in another's obedience! Surely that cannot be right? God has given the power to become son's in the likeness of the Son of God. That must mean His character! He is Righteous, therefore His children will be righteous. It is not in self to be righteous, that is why Murray says, 'obedience unto death'. As Jesus said, if a man does not hate himself he cannot be my disciple. The power to live this life is not in ourselves. We must receive another Spirit that is willing to obey! The Holy Spirit that Jesus promised, that transformed the disciples, and will transform us.
Brothers and sisters, have seen this place, Hades-Sheol, it is family or tribal waiting room of the dead. I saw many of my passed relatives, they stared at me with a blank look. Thinking I was in heaven, I lifted my hands and began praising Jesus...He immediately harpazoed me out of there. It is not hell, the lake of fire, it is a family or tribal waiting room prior to Judgment. I know this is heavy, but it is also consistent with the Word of the Lord. Tell the Truth, Jesus is God Almighty, and the only Way to be cleansed of our patent sin is through the blood shed at the Cross. He is not only at the door now, His hand is on the knob. I would rather offend someone into heaven, than comfort them into hell. Yes, Fear God and keep His commandments.
People fail to understand this, because it is hardly emphasized in our pulpits. We are taught once saved always saved, without the correct teaching that the Holy Spirit is only given through a willingness to obey the gospel of Christ. This is a requirement. Death to self, and new life in Christ for a total transformation of character. We are Laodicean believers in this era. We are rich and in need of nothing, we are naked and blind. This means we say we believe, yet we do not walk with the Holy Spirit. Most people think that because they speak in tongues, and feel spiritual, they must be walking by the spirit of God. But what the real evidence is, is that we obey the commandments of God, and obey even the little things of the gospel. This era of believers, including myself, has to get a much better understanding of what justification is, which leads to a greater understanding of what it is to be found “in Christ” which is the very heart of the gospel.
After reading my original comment, I’ve decided to delete it. Even I was right, which I wasn’t, I regret having posted it due to my own pettiness. Thank you for providing these audio books. Take care & God bless. Jesus Christ is Lord!
Hmmm, this was published five years ago, before voice AI was a thing. It's a real person. Maybe not the right narrator for you? But a real person nevertheless.
Take note if a Christian claims to be sinless he calls the Bible a liar. He is called to be seen this holy and righteous but the will always fall short I have to come through Jesus. The pursuit of Holiness the pursuit of righteousness this is the goal for the Christian.
I believe you have got this backwards. Men are made holy at new birth, ' born again'! Made anew by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit! Sadly missing in many conversions because, the blind are leading the blind! .
1:52:12 - what was the old covenant? Exodus 19:8 says the people promised to do all that God said, then 40 days later they were dancing and giving praise to a golden calf idol Hebrews 8:8 says God found fault with them, that them is “the people” Genesis 3:15 shows that God implemented plan A which had been decided on before the foundation of the world according to Revelation 13:8 so here AM has another little blind spot, teaching what scripture does not teach. Christ has always been the only way to receive Salvation for in the garden of Eden ((after Adam sinned wilfully (Romans 7:7; Hebrews 10:26,27; Romans 6:23) and ushered sin into the world - 1 Corinthians 15:21)) the shadow which finds its substance in the body of Christ (Colossians 2:16,17; Leviticus 23:4-37) was introduced (Genesis 3:21; Leviticus 7:8) and Hebrews 11 is filled with proof that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone. So AM has perhaps not fully understood what the old covenant was… see what the old covenant was Exodus 20:22 to 23:33 Explained in Hebrews 9:9,10; 10:4 The law (representing Gods character - Philippians 2:5) written in stone Now see what the new covenant is Luke 22:20-22 Explained in Hebrews 10:10; John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:7; 7:19 The law (representing Gods character - Philippians 2:5) written in the heart/mimd/character (Matthew 7:21-23; 19:16-19; 22:40; John 15:10; 1 John 2:3-6; 5:2:3)
1:16:40 - this one holy day at the beginning of the week? Where is that found in the scriptures? Where did God make the entire week holy when according to Him, He blessed and made holy only the SEVENTH DAY of the week only (Genesis 2:1-3)?
1:16:25 where is that scripture which commands the sanctity of the first day of the week saying it is blessed and is holy as Andrew Murray claims that it is?
Thank you for your comment. Mr. Williams experimented with the narration, and I think you'll be glad to know he's back to narrating more along the lines of Waiting on Gog. Blessings.
Question- why can no cars or electronics go into a refuge? Please answer with some detail. Will there be any electric, or gas power or will it be just wood burning, candles and elbow grease and beasts of burden?
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. (Psalm 119:9) And after that, David says: I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. (Psalm 119:10-16) The answer is in seeking the Lord, repenting of sin, reading scripture, praying, singing, and in general keeping your whole heart and mind set on Christ Jesus. He is King, and when He is your King, everything else will work out. He is good! Isn't that what the passage I quoted says?
Cleanse your hands you sinners, purify your hearts you double minded! Don't delay! Get rid of all guilt by acting again all sin committed putting it to death, make restitution, forgive, seek forgiveness for any injury you have caused, ask God to guide you and show you your error. Be baptised to wash away your sins and receive the Holy Spirit, the promise to all who believe! Follow Jesus!
1:57:05 -Philippians 2:5 this mind (character) in Christ is the sinless character of God - what is sin? 1 John 3:4 says that sin is the transgression of the law! Which law? James 2:8-12 says the Ten Commandments and James states that if we break even only one of the ten identifies us as lawbreakers! Romans 7:7 testifies the same thing. Matthew 7:23 says that if we are lawbreakers we will not inherit eternal life (since we don’t mirror the character of God had Matthew 19:16-19 in order to inherit eternal life we must have the character of God in us a transcript of which is found in the Ten Commandments (John 15:10; 1 John 2:3-6; Revelation 14:12)
Isn't the Law for the unrighteous? Men must be born again, born of water and Spirit! I will put my law in your inward parts and write it on your heart. What is this law? It is not the ten commandments! It is far superior! It is the Law of Love! Against which, there is no Law! Men are made free to love, now we can love God and our neighbour as ourselves.
@@stephendavies2925 that’s right, the law condemns those who break it aka the unrighteous Since you claim to know that man must be born from above, John 9:41 says that your sin remains Jeremiah 31:31-33 tells us who the new covenant was made with and it doesn’t say the word gentiles, nor does scripture insert the word “gentiles” in Hebrews 8:10 either where the new covenant is repeated a second time. The same law written by the Holy Spirit in stone (Exodus 31:18) both times (Deuteronomy 9:10) is written in the characters of those who like Christ have these character traits in Him according to Philippians 2:5 see John 14:15-21 if one breaks the Ten Commandments then the Holy Spirit doesn’t write them in ones character and one is identified as being children of the devil (John 8:44) The law is most definitely the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:1-17; Matthew 19:16-19; Romans 13:9; Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 22:14 so if you wish to dispute that the law written in the heart/character is the Ten Commandments then supply the scripture which says so in opposition to: 2 Corinthians 3:3clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. The law of love is the Ten Commandments for God is Love (1 John 4:17) so quite OBVIOUSLY His character is Love seen in the transcript thereof being His Ten Commandments (Psalm 19:7) by which HE converts us and makes wise the simple. You too can be wise if you allow God to convert you by His perfect royal law of freedom (James 2:8-12) aka His Ten Commandments In Luke 24:27 we hear Christ open the scriptures to the two disciples beginning at Moses and all the prophets and never did He ever quote the New Testament for in case you didn’t realise this little fact, the New Testament didn’t exist until the fourth century AD so which scripture did Jesus quote in Matthew 4:4? He quoted Deuteronomy 8:3 and just so in Matthew 22:37 He quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 and in Matthew 22:39 He quoted Leviticus 19:18 and the sane thing with Paul who imitated Christ according to 1 Corinthians 11:1, see Acts 24:14-16 which scriptures did He quote from in the first century AD? 2 Timothy 3:16 the Old Testament remember for the New Testament didn’t exist until the fourth century AD, hear Paul imitated Christ in Romans 13:9 quoting Leviticus 19:18 yo sum up the Ten Commandments as being the law of love as Christ did in Matthew 19:16-19 You are so desperate to destroy the Sabbath commandment which was made in perfection on the seventh day of creation week that you forget to actually study the Bible to discover its truth. Psalm 119:151,160 1 John 5:6; John 14:15-21 Now I was raised in Catholicism and when I found the Sabbath truth in scripture and confronted the priest about it he couldn’t show the scripture where God changed from creator into the seventh day Sabbath so can you show me the scripture which commands the sanctity of Sunday which he couldn’t show to me?
Whoa!! All was well until the start of chapter 4! The day of rest- the sabbath is the LAST day of the week!! That was established by God the Father, and even Jesus Christ the Son of God kept the sabbath! The Catholic church changed the day of rest to Sunday. The true people of God do NOT attain to a first day of rest!
Very good conversation except one HUGE ERROR. God COMMANDS us to REMEMBER the SEVENTH (7th) DAY to keep it Holy. Chapter 4 says 1st day of week is holy day. Remember what our Heavenly Father COMMANDS us. Ten Commandments includes ALL TEN, not just the nine that the world holds as tradition. If you believe we should not kill, steal, commit adultery, etc., then the 4th COMMANDMENT is, remember the SEVENTH DAY is apart of ALL the others. AMEN.
1:16:30 in the fourth commandment God commands Exodus 20: 8Remember THE SABBATH DAY, to keep IT holy. 9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10But THE SEVENTH DAY is THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in IT thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: [Why?] 11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD blessed THE SABBATH DAY, and hallowed IT. …so where in scripture does GOD say that the first day of the week is a divine and holy appointment and a holy day of rest?
I absolutely love the writings of Andrew Murray but I am sorry to say that I simply cannot stand listening to this man's rendition! I apologize for putting it so bluntly, but I feel the effort at 'dramatization' and the use of various 'voices' by the reader, (none of which seem to be the reader's 'true voice'), leaves me with the feeling of listening to a poorly done, Saturday morning cartoon. I could not force myself to listen past the first 12 minutes.

I'm praying someone will audiobook The Highway Of Holiness - Marshall, Murray... I suppose I could read it...
Thank you God bless your ministry
Thank you, John! As always, all praises to the Lord.
Thank you so much for this. God bless you dear
You are very welcome. May the Lord be praised!
AMEN.
@@WhoGitDaBiscuit We're sorry this sounds like AI. However, this was indeed narrated by Saethon Williams, a real-life narrator living in Germany.
@@jeremiahzeisetYes, you are right. God bless.
Excellent thank you 😊
You are very welcome Michael. May the Lord be praised.

Exodus 19:8 says the people promised to do all that God said, then 40 days later they were dancing and giving praise to a golden calf idol
Hebrews 8:8 says God found fault with them, that them is “the people”
Genesis 3:15 shows that God implemented plan A which had been decided on before the foundation of the world according to Revelation 13:8 so here AM has another little blind spot, teaching what scripture does not teach.
So AM has perhaps not fully understood what the old covenant was… see what the old covenant was Exodus 20:22 to 23:33
Explained in Hebrews 9:9,10; 10:4
The law (representing Gods character - Philippians 2:5) written in stone
Now see what the new covenant is Luke 22:20-22
Explained in Hebrews 10:10; John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:7; 7:19
The law (representing Gods character - Philippians 2:5) written in the heart/mimd/character (Matthew 7:21-23; 19:16-19; 22:40; John 15:10; 1 John 2:3-6; 5:2:3)
1:16:40 - this one holy day at the beginning of the week? Where is that found in the scriptures? Where did God make the entire week holy when according to Him, He blessed and made holy only the SEVENTH DAY of the week only (Genesis 2:1-3)?
I am just starting the book, halfway through the first chapter. May I ask ahead of time which chapter might discuss the fourth commandment?
1:16:25 where is that scripture which commands the sanctity of the first day of the week saying it is blessed and is holy as Andrew Murray claims that it is?
Saethon Williams has a great voice for narrating eg. Waiting on God. So I'm wondering why here he has to assume different voices like in a play 🤔

How can a young man cleans his ways?!
How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word. (Psalm 119:9)
And after that, David says:
I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
Praise be to you, Lord;
teach me your decrees.
With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
(Psalm 119:10-16)
The answer is in seeking the Lord, repenting of sin, reading scripture, praying, singing, and in general keeping your whole heart and mind set on Christ Jesus. He is King, and when He is your King, everything else will work out. He is good! Isn't that what the passage I quoted says?
@jeremiahzeiset yes and Amen 😊🇬🇧🇯🇲🙏

John 6*38
Heb10*9
@@stephendavies2925 that’s right, the law condemns those who break it aka the unrighteous
Since you claim to know that man must be born from above, John 9:41 says that your sin remains
Jeremiah 31:31-33 tells us who the new covenant was made with and it doesn’t say the word gentiles, nor does scripture insert the word “gentiles” in Hebrews 8:10 either where the new covenant is repeated a second time. The same law written by the Holy Spirit in stone (Exodus 31:18) both times (Deuteronomy 9:10) is written in the characters of those who like Christ have these character traits in Him according to Philippians 2:5 see John 14:15-21 if one breaks the Ten Commandments then the Holy Spirit doesn’t write them in ones character and one is identified as being children of the devil (John 8:44)
The law is most definitely the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:1-17; Matthew 19:16-19; Romans 13:9; Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 22:14 so if you wish to dispute that the law written in the heart/character is the Ten Commandments then supply the scripture which says so in opposition to:
2 Corinthians 3:3clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
The law of love is the Ten Commandments for God is Love (1 John 4:17) so quite OBVIOUSLY His character is Love seen in the transcript thereof being His Ten Commandments (Psalm 19:7) by which HE converts us and makes wise the simple. You too can be wise if you allow God to convert you by His perfect royal law of freedom (James 2:8-12) aka His Ten Commandments
In Luke 24:27 we hear Christ open the scriptures to the two disciples beginning at Moses and all the prophets and never did He ever quote the New Testament for in case you didn’t realise this little fact, the New Testament didn’t exist until the fourth century AD so which scripture did Jesus quote in Matthew 4:4? He quoted Deuteronomy 8:3 and just so in Matthew 22:37 He quoted Deuteronomy 6:5 and in Matthew 22:39 He quoted Leviticus 19:18 and the sane thing with Paul who imitated Christ according to 1 Corinthians 11:1, see Acts 24:14-16 which scriptures did He quote from in the first century AD? 2 Timothy 3:16 the Old Testament remember for the New Testament didn’t exist until the fourth century AD, hear Paul imitated Christ in Romans 13:9 quoting Leviticus 19:18 yo sum up the Ten Commandments as being the law of love as Christ did in Matthew 19:16-19
You are so desperate to destroy the Sabbath commandment which was made in perfection on the seventh day of creation week that you forget to actually study the Bible to discover its truth.
Psalm 119:151,160
1 John 5:6; John 14:15-21
Now I was raised in Catholicism and when I found the Sabbath truth in scripture and confronted the priest about it he couldn’t show the scripture where God changed from creator into the seventh day Sabbath so can you show me the scripture which commands the sanctity of Sunday which he couldn’t show to me?
AMEN.
1:16:30 in the fourth commandment God commands
Exodus 20: 8Remember THE SABBATH DAY, to keep IT holy.
9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10But THE SEVENTH DAY is THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in IT thou shalt not do any work,
thou,
nor thy son,
nor thy daughter,
thy manservant,
nor thy maidservant,
nor thy cattle,
nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[Why?]
11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD blessed THE SABBATH DAY, and hallowed IT.
…so where in scripture does GOD say that the first day of the week is a divine and holy appointment and a holy day of rest?
Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.
@@stephendavies2925 says the one who breaks the Sabbath commandment…
I absolutely love the writings of Andrew Murray but I am sorry to say that I simply cannot stand listening to this man's rendition! I apologize for putting it so bluntly, but I feel the effort at 'dramatization' and the use of various 'voices' by the reader, (none of which seem to be the reader's 'true voice'), leaves me with the feeling of listening to a poorly done, Saturday morning cartoon.
I could not force myself to listen past the first 12 minutes.
Thank you for your feedback.
I actually quite enjoyed his voice! Davy Jones rendition 🔥 kept me interested.
I could not disagree more
The effort it takes to listen to this voice won.
I turned it off. 😣😫😝
I like the voice !!
Get a taste of God's grace.
There is no new confident. Jesus is not the messiah.
What?!
Thanks the Lord
