I agree. I don’t have the appetites I used to have. I don’t watch television, I don’t listen to secular music. I listen to sermons, worship music, pray, meditate on God’s word. Jesus is all. The world is mad, but He has overcome the world! This is not our home.
At 56 years of age I have never been brought to a place of being broken apart like chapter 2 of this book. Not by Agustine or Calvin or Luther or Sproul have I ever been brought to my knees with truth and wisdom of how bad I had become. I had to stop and take an hour to let that chapter really take hold, This is what everyone needs to hear. Thank you Mr. Tozer for this Heart changing moment 😪

I have been in tears 😢throughout each chapter. I have been so moved in hearing these words. I am two chapters away from done and already want to hear the book again.
I have read A.W. Tozer’s The Pursuit of God about 5 times in the last two years and keep coming back to it. It is the best book I’ve ever read on how to draw near to God. Narrow is the way indeed. His prayer at the end of chapter 1 is my prayer also. Just found this narrated version. The Pursuit of God is a great commentary and wake up call to a believer like myself
If you mean. He will use it for good for those who keep His commandmemts, and hold to the testimony of Christ, that's true. Everyone else will sadly be deceived by it.
I am so glad He knows my real me 💞 and still leads me, helps me know Him. All of you and this author He even uses up to the moment I turn away, distrust His goodness, love my self my comfort more then abiding.
I simply love this book. " The Pursuit of God " To have find God and still pursue Him is paradox of love. God is everything to me and my all . The more I know God, the more I fall's in love of Him for what HE has done already. The Beauty, Wonder, the Intelligence behind the universe . Glory be to His Mighty Name Amen .

How did I find out about tozer?..God first led me to “ the saints must walk alone ” I had been praying bc even though I had been to many churches I was left dismayed and at times to the point of tears wondering why did I feel like a foreigner amongst them and that when I witnessed to and attested to the things God has done in my life it was as if I was speaking a language they just could not understand.. they couldn’t relate.. I know why now, bc God revealed.Thankyou father I have peace .. i give all the glory blessings,praises and honor to God alone for this his vessel for the vessels obedience to God and willingness to sit with God so that even today this his vessel still speaks those dry dead bones God commands even today to speak to us, attest to us, and witness to us the profoundness of God and his truths.. i grew up without a father I now have the best father ever . I love him and he loves me .. my Heavenly Father .. Thankyou Jesus. I absolutely love how God so moved tozers heart so proundly that he put at the end of each chapter a prayer to guide our own hearts.. How Good is our God! He fulfills our every need!

I honestly feel like I’m at a place where Ive grown tired of seeing so much dead religion. I hunger hard after the deep things of God. I’m sick of just having my feet wet, I really desire to dive into the very person of who Christ is. I know I must labour in this and cultivate it especially now that I’m feeling Him draw me to Him in such a manner.
Israel, there is nothing like denying oneself, taking up the cross, and following Jesus. It does come at a cost, but it also comes with many, many blessings. Remember the greatest commandment, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbors as yourself.

I’ve walked with Him sometime now and have seen Him so involved in the affairs of my life, it’s so undeniable. But I’ve also prayed in the past that I want to walk even closer with Him, know Him more, love Him more. I perceive He wants to start taking me there.

By "freedom in Christ," I assume you mean "freed from the bondage of sin and death." Far too many take this freedom way further than anything we find in scripture. _If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers._ (1 Peter 1:17-18)

Wonderful truths that keep my mind focused on God and what He requires of me. This is not taught in churches. I know. I was a church minister of music for 30 years....worked me to death with the multitude of activities. I was exhausted all the time. Now I am no longer a minister of music, my life is slower and i am building a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father. By the way, i have listened to this audio book twice and plan to listen the third time. Satan likes to steal the truths i've learned so i must keep then clear in my mind.
Unsure of the churches you've attended but Real life with Jack Hibbs in His services recommended this books as many others. I am thankful it's audio as my eye surgery is not till late next month. Praise the Lord. It's been a while since I could read. Cataract surgery is welcome.
Thanks for this audio book. I read this years ago and it's like I've not read it! The person reading has a voice easy to listen to and keeps interest. I would prefer to follow as well as listen so I am going to hunt down my copy. Our, my inner desires are to have that closer walk with God, to be His instrument in this fallen world.

I love this book. I came to learn about this book from a certain book i read some months back titled "He came to set the captives free" by Rebecca Brown. The excerpt from "The pursuit of God" which was used in that book was what got hold of me and i had promised myself that i would find time to read this book. Its been nothing short of peace and increasing yearning for God since i started listening to the book and i am glad i was given the grace to finish it. I cant even explain how much this book has spoken to me. I just listened to the full thing in one sitting, taking notes. I could not turn it off. My entire life I’ve felt like I did not fit in in the world. Sometimes wishing God would let me leave it. Tormented by the thought of having to wait another 40-50 years until I went to His kingdom. Now I see I truly am not of this world as I am made in His image and He and His kingdom are all around me. What a sweet spring for a thirsty Christian.

Man's chief end is to Glorify God and revered Him and enjoy His Glorious Power. We exist by His Power. Human reason did not create the universe, it might seem trivial but it is, in fact , of fundamental importance when we comes to assess the validity of our cognitive facilities. Not only did we not create the universe, but we did not create our own powers of reason either. We develop our rational faculty by use but we did not originate them. Jesus is the revelation as He made it known to US the existence of God in John chapter 17 and the deeper thought in the LORDS PRAYER. He is the Way the Truth and the Life. AMEN
What a wonderful book, a classic an deservedly so, and this is a superb narration of it. I've read it myself in the past, but was able to get even more out of this audio version because Mark Christensen does a much better job of reading it than I do! Thank you for this upload.

I’m thankful to hear my own perceptions of my Lord Gods word in Tozers (Lewis, Macdonald & others) books. My favorite book is basic instruction before leaving earth (Bible). It’s not always easy to know if I’m “leaning on my own understanding”. I do try to examine my heart, test my actions & guard my heart. I pray for the strength to persevere unto the end
I listen and read the book at the same time, taking time to stop and pray. The calm and encouraging voice of God carries me forward out of discouragement and fear of the future. It takes time and determination amidst the calls and commitments of "all else".

I have been in tears 😢throughout each chapter. I have been so moved in hearing these words. I am two chapters away from done and already want to hear the book again.
I have read A.W. Tozer’s The Pursuit of God about 5 times in the last two years and keep coming back to it. It is the best book I’ve ever read on how to draw near to God. Narrow is the way indeed. His prayer at the end of chapter 1 is my prayer also. Just found this narrated version. The Pursuit of God is a great commentary and wake up call to a believer like myself

How did I find out about tozer?..God first led me to “ the saints must walk alone ” I had been praying bc even though I had been to many churches I was left dismayed and at times to the point of tears wondering why did I feel like a foreigner amongst them and that when I witnessed to and attested to the things God has done in my life it was as if I was speaking a language they just could not understand.. they couldn’t relate.. I know why now, bc God revealed.Thankyou father I have peace .. i give all the glory blessings,praises and honor to God alone for this his vessel for the vessels obedience to God and willingness to sit with God so that even today this his vessel still speaks those dry dead bones God commands even today to speak to us, attest to us, and witness to us the profoundness of God and his truths.. i grew up without a father I now have the best father ever . I love him and he loves me .. my Heavenly Father .. Thankyou Jesus. I absolutely love how God so moved tozers heart so proundly that he put at the end of each chapter a prayer to guide our own hearts.. How Good is our God! He fulfills our every need!

I honestly feel like I’m at a place where Ive grown tired of seeing so much dead religion. I hunger hard after the deep things of God. I’m sick of just having my feet wet, I really desire to dive into the very person of who Christ is. I know I must labour in this and cultivate it especially now that I’m feeling Him draw me to Him in such a manner.
Israel, there is nothing like denying oneself, taking up the cross, and following Jesus. It does come at a cost, but it also comes with many, many blessings. Remember the greatest commandment, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbors as yourself.

Wonderful truths that keep my mind focused on God and what He requires of me. This is not taught in churches. I know. I was a church minister of music for 30 years....worked me to death with the multitude of activities. I was exhausted all the time. Now I am no longer a minister of music, my life is slower and i am building a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father. By the way, i have listened to this audio book twice and plan to listen the third time. Satan likes to steal the truths i've learned so i must keep then clear in my mind.
Unsure of the churches you've attended but Real life with Jack Hibbs in His services recommended this books as many others. I am thankful it's audio as my eye surgery is not till late next month. Praise the Lord. It's been a while since I could read. Cataract surgery is welcome.

I seem to get a better or deeper understanding of how God is in my life and has drawn me closer as I read and reread books of AWTozer. The excerpt from "The pursuit of God" which was used in that book was what got hold of me and i had promised myself that i would find time to read this book. I cant even explain how much this book has spoken to me. I just listened to the full thing in one sitting, taking notes. I could not turn it off. My entire life I’ve felt like I did not fit in in the world. Sometimes wishing God would let me leave it. Tormented by the thought of having to wait another 40-50 years until I went to His kingdom. Now I see I truly am not of this world as I am made in His image and He and His kingdom are all around me. What a sweet spring for a thirsty Christian.

This book has made me fall in love deeper with God all over again. Indeed man's highest place is at the feet of Jesus and his loftiest pursuit is to know Christ and then worship Him over and over again.

Hard to explain to you, but if you only knew what I know...he is in my today, my tomorrow, and my future. I am just catching up to his forethought starting with the reading/hearing of this book.
