@@roadent217 ogryn loses most every time. also every time a tyranid kills a terminator...it never did it alone. it always wore down the marine with waves and waited for them to get tired. even the largest of tyranid require this to kill a terminator. the only time this isn't true is when an author that hates marines is writing for them and needs some shock value that just comes across as goofy. all tyranid, in spite of their evolution and all of that, are weaker than any other race on 1 to 1 comparisons. this is the result of all factions in all ips that rely on swarm tactics.

My only knowledge on the topic comes in the form that, in Space Hulk, in melee, a genestealer rolls 3 dice, and a tactical terminator 1 (an assault terminator 2), and the highest die wins, with the winner killing the loser. As you can imagine, that means that regular genestealers slice through terminator armor like a hot knife through butter. Now, if you tell me that genestealers are the most superior version of tyrannids, I won't object.

I don't think there is a lot of things in 40K that could survive an unexpected encounter against four bullgryn with power maul in a cramped Chimera; space marine champions, chaos lords, succubus, they would all get wrecked in such a scenario.
A space marine once said a bull ogryn could rip the head from his body. His speed saved him. Indeed getting abushed by 4 of these guys reads like a death sentence, even more so with thunder hammers. The only one who ever took on anything like that was a custode.
A Purestrain getting clubbed to death quickly by 4 Ogryns is one thing. It wouldn't be so quick if they had no more little 'uns, and the Purestrain was the reason why. 🥶

This is exactly why ogryns are such a perfect complement to the imperial guard. Normal humans generally do not enjoy fighting eldritch abominations or sword-wielding maniacs in close quarters combat, but that suits these big lads just fine.
The driver of that Chimera later either ran to the back after popping open the hatch ready for a fight only to find the big guys still happily stomping away at the oversized bug or just sighed and leaned back in his seat knowing how frustrating it’ll be to clean whatever is left of the Tyranid from the APC later
