I dont know what's scarier, the fact that someone thought that putting 4 orgryn's on a mission was a good idea, or the fact that they are using actual battle tactics.
When your sending 4 people to what could only be described as imment death its probably better to send the ones who wont think about that
Well be fair tactics isn't foreign to ogryn nor the ogres they come from in fantasy. just that they don't make them more compelx than flanking and aiming at the parts that hurt more, or blocking stuff to shoot with.
Ask them to make up a complex plan like luring someone into a trap and you are basically talking to a brick.

they didn't know they were using actual battle tactics, they just had the same mentality as each other for being the same species, but tbh it isn't the same mentality when they have one guy shoot behind three hunkered down shield guys or have one guy block the doorway while the others gun down the enemies in front of them, but that is probably the only situations where they combined braincells to come up with those tactics

Four mangy rejects weakened by the poxwalkers, and I'll give them the final blow, just when they think they've reached their objective. He smirked, in perverted anticipation.
Then the doors opened.
The towering shapes of four immense Ogryns darkened the doorway. Each of them was carrying a twin linked heavy stubber. And for the final time, Lauretian felt what he didn't feel in an era. Fear.
His world ended in a triumph of sparks and clouds of sulfur, the booming chant of the stubbers toppled only by the laughters of the abhumans.
My favourite part is seeing the Scab Mauler briefly fucking *hesitate* for a split second before he gets chopped to pieces.
Even the AI knew he was boned.

had a squad like this happen organically a few days ago, it was hilarious how we shredded through everything and most players in there knew the lore so it was even better with some in character banter. Think my fave quote that came out of it from one of the other players was "protect the lil'uns by not letting them come on missions"

One of the things I love about Darktide is that unlike Vermintide you can quadruple up on classes. It's fun when you have a full squad playing their best characters instead of having to settle for one you're not as keen on
All you need is a very safe commissar armed with a selection of the finest ecclesiarchy approved colouring books, blessed crayon's and a large bag of gold stars. Love Ogryn's and their cute little murder faces
Far better than the 4 vet playthroughs where everyone blows through ammo within 2 minutes and it’s more a fight against other players for supplies than it is a fight against chaos

Yeah, nothing like squabbling with the left/right hand while Chaos and the Xenos eat the Galaxy. This is why I play Space Marines (on the tabletop), at least they aren't bound up in red tape and administrative power-games. They can only put out a few fires, but at least they have an extinguisher.
Don't Veterans have a "killing elites refills ammo" or did I confuse that with nade gain?

If you vets cant shoot while fighting with the power sword they probably suck anyway and don't deserve the ammo. 2+ veterans literally equates to infinite ammo unless you are bad.

Ah yes, the grenade launcher as a melee weapon. Truly the pinnacle of Imperial designs.
If it's in the hands of an Ogryn, if it isn't a melee weapon, it soon will be used as one.
The Big Shotty is amazing once you get the rhythm. Knock them down, shoot, reload, repeat as necessary. Plus, every attack, melee or ranged has knockdown, even if it doesn’t kill outright.

The Ogryn Ripper Gun is designed specifically to be used as a club, due to the Mechanicus noticing that Ogryns use every weapon as a club.
When playing as a Veteran, the more Ogryns on my team, the safer I feel.

Funnily enough, the reverse is true for Ogryn as well. I get fucked by the chaff's ranged chip damage, so having Sah cover me makes me feel warm and cozy.

With the latest shield buffs, 4 shields sounds like the most horrifying day for chaos ever. It's like literally getting rolled over by a bulletproof tank.
I love that the ogryn bomb is just a case of grenades, and "improving" it means you pull the pins on the grenades first.
It would be cool if you could get a perk that let your team pick up unexploded grenades from a case you threw

Playing as an Ogryn was the best video game experience I've had all year. Shout out to all the vet players who were elated to have a big guy on their team.
As a Veteran, I have very literally died trying (and in some cases succeeding) to save Ogryns whenever and wherever possible.
Only fair as the big lugs save my bacon every damn time I see them.

This is the 32nd time this week I’ve rewatched this video, the beat, the tempo and pacing… *it’s perfect*
As Ogryn, I kept getting paired with 3 vets on Heresy. They always thought they were Rambo and running off solo. Meeting mutants and trappers and never reconsidering their life choices. And then aggroing demons on dark levels! If one ever decided to stick with me, no matter if I hugged hallway walls to get out of their line of fire, I'd get just as many green pips from friendly fire as from the crowd I'd control.
The worst is when the sniper shows up. 1 shot to clear my toughness, 2 shots to down me. None of the 3 vets shooting at the sniper at all. All of them bickering over ammo.
I wound up dodging matches that had me paired with 3 veterans. My Ogryn has more brains than 3 vets combined.
Pysker is great for this, no friendly fire since force staves pass through allies

As a psyker player I feel that with lover stamina and toughness then the others getting abandoned by vets just leads to me being downed just as fast as everyone they agro stand between me and everyone else

As memeful as this is, 4 Ogryn strat has been working pretty well.
Tbh I've noticed that having 4 of the same class usually works better than having a mix, I guess because the strength of the class is just overpowering. Like i played with a team of just 3 veterans and a psyker yesterday and i expected a struggle but enemies pretty much couldn't reach us, specials died almost instantly, and the psyker typed in chat that he pretty much couldn't do anything before we did it.

At least in Vermintide 2, each of 5 character has there 3-4 different playstyles to pick. Its one of the main charm to have these 5 misfit turn "trust worthy enough" crew working together dispite hateing each other for number of reasons.
But i won't lie, Darktide freedom to pick what ever team composition ya wished & just rolling with it was a brilliant decision. The Imperium have no shortest of deposible criminal fighting for it, sending 4 Orgyns Bone'eah to do suicidal mission feel just normal.

Yes, or one guy focuses on close combat and uses a power sword. I think everyone using the lasgun would not be wise, you'd have zero crowd control. Bolters are deceptively good at crowd control if you know how to use them, and surprisingly so is the headhunter autogun. They can stagger hounds, ragers and I think even maulers.

The Inquisitors don't want you to know this but grenade gauntlet melee attacks count as heavy attacks for the purpose of ogryn heavy attack feats

My brother just got started with Darktide, and we squadded up with my friends, and it was him as a zealot and 3 ogryn. Not that I would ever feel bad for a minion of nurgle, but that chaos general didn't stand a chance against our combined chromosomes

All the ogryns in this game were given the BONE enhancements, so they are as smart as your average human.

Majority of us Ogryn players have stuck with the 'single syllable' names. Simplicity is king, right? Except for mine: "Hugh-Mann". Maybe you did run into that same player!
