Last comment was made over a year ago. Been listening to this band for a decade. This song is one of the top 50 ever made IMO. Its crushing but liberating.
You know, I do 100% agree that bands like this need so much more recognition. But, at the same time, I sort of enjoy listening to bands that not everyone knows about or is super popular. I think bands really change when they get to that stage, not every one... But it does happen. The Gaslight Anthem has really helped me through tough decisions in life and simply making music that is more than enjoyable and nothing but raw talent. Brian is a real musician, he loves what he does...
Too true. I listen to their albums over and over aha, don't understand how you could possibly dislike them!? Brian's a genuine musician, he's there because he loves it, he's what music is all about
If y'all haven't heard, he just finished recording an album under a side project by the name of the Horrible Crowes. The album is set to be released in september. He was blogging about it daily and is really really excited and happy about how it turned out. As good a lyricist and musician as this guy is, I can't even imagine what we have to look forward to.
The most heartwrenching part of this song for me is "Wait a minute, wait a minute, Wasn't I good to you?" lol it makes me want to go, "I'LL BE GOOD TO YOU, BRIAN FALLON!!!!"
This is my favorite song from their live videos. You can just feel the desperation and emotion for something to hang onto in Brian's eyes. I'm so glad they could capture it all into this video. I love it.
I don't really dig too much new music but I dig these guys. It's almost as if they are playing your own "soundtrack of summer." This is totally a band I would have jammed in my car in July in my younger days. Not bad at all!
My queen of the Bronx Blue eyes and spitfire I saw you walking back and forth about another boy Thinking that you may want to leave So give me the fevers that just won't break And give me the children you don't want to raise And tell me about the Cool, he sings to you in those songs If it's better than my love, then bring it on And take it back out to the streets where you know you used to be For the Romeos uptown, if I bring you down And you're tired of those vows And you're really walking out So give me the fevers that just won't break And give me the children you don't want to raise And tell me about the Cool, he sings to you in those songs If it's better than my love, baby, bring it on Oh, bring it on Stop clicking your red heels and wishing for home I'm hearing that he tells you he can read your palms Is he better than my love? (better than my love?) Is he better than my love? (better than my love?) So I found the letters with the reasons to things You've been feeling that he says they'll never know And you say the night just got too cold Well, everybody's cold Who's gonna keep my baby warm When everybody goes? So give me the fevers that just won't break And give me the children you don't want to raise And tell me about the Cool, he sings to you in those songs If it's better than my love Well, then wait a minute, wait a minute (Wasn't I good to you?) Wait a minute, wait a minute (Wasn't I good to you?) Wait a minute, wait a minute (You don't know what's good for you) So give me the fevers that just won't break And give me the children you don't want to raise And tell me about the Cool, he sings to you in those songs You've been my baby for so long, come on, bring it on Oh, bring it on Stop clicking your red heels and wishing for home I'm hearing that he tells you he can read your palms If he's better than my love If he's better than my love, then go on, take it all
This is a beautiful song. Art that is sent straight through your speakers. I hope it will touch you like it touches me each time I hear it. Simply beautiful.
I´ve listened to "Metal" for 10 years (Slipknot, Parkway Drive ...) but with this band i found my determination !!! Never thought that´s gonna happen ;)
the loved ones are my favourite band. dave hauses C'MOn KID saved my life. then he gets together with brian and plays acoustic shows and appears in this video of my fave gaslight song. i can't help but smile...
Yeah these guys have such a great sound. I mistakenly thought that American Slang was by The Killers for some reason but Gaslight Anthem is a much better band so I am so glad that I fell in love with that song and discovered these guys!
@GamerGeek227 I didn't ever think it needed reviving but people sure think it does. Maybe it does. I don't know. It is beautiful music to me. Love it. Always will. Especially punk rock. It is real basic life shit sung with real passion. TGA! Love you guys.
Empty factory hall chosen with great taste, care & distinction. Would have been quite convincing in the 1970s. Who did they hire as art director for this clip?
Nearly 9 years ago I was an anxious high school kid listening to this album on my iPod the day it was released while vacuuming at my custodian job. Feels like last week. Time needs to chill the hell out.
i agree with this, i usually pride myself in music that is original or avant garde, at least in my opinion. I really dig these guys, but it really isn't about their originality. They're just hella enjoyable to listen to.

Here we are, 9 years later, and this song is still one of my all time favorites. Devastatingly beautiful.
Same here. Love this song
Amen!!!
Same here. Will always love Gaslight.
And still...
I love that….devastatingly beautiful . This band has a knack for that❤

Oiiiiiiik😊9poo
I will never know how these guys aren't bigger than they are already, people don't know what they're missing!
This band was a light in a time of eternal darkness in my life, Pillows soaked in salty rivers flowing from my eyes during sleepless nights.
60 years from now, i'll still listen to The Gaslight Anthem.
Still listening?
I’m 62 and this band just makes me want to get up and move!thanks for making my heart happy
AHHHHH this Dave Hause cameo makes me love this song even more.... fuck this is a masterpiece
Cheers from South El Monte California September 2024💪🇺🇸

Brian Fallon: One of the Greatest Additions to Music since, Dylan, Bruce, and Johnson.
the look Brian gives the camera at :31 and what he's saying is totally how I feel right now. This band rules

Fantastic song and the drummer really nails it!
A forever favourite, a home in a song.

How is that not many people about these guys? Like seriously this quality music. It's perhaps one of the most original bands out there.
This is my favorite song from their live videos. You can just feel the desperation and emotion for something to hang onto in Brian's eyes. I'm so glad they could capture it all into this video. I love it.
Top Song!
Loved these guys for 3 years now, no matter what always come back to them! One of the few bands that I come back to time and time again
Gaslight Anthem are the best band in the last 13 years. Those boys from Jersey sure got soul.
The mood that this song presents could not have been done better, this is a fantastic video.
I love how Alex L. always dances while he plays bass :)
It's pretty much impossible to not dance playing TGA bass lines.
My son was talking to me about this song, and he said it almost had him in tears. 10/10 Great song. :)

I saw them play in Sydney, most amazing experience of my life. The music they create surpasses brilliance.

2:47 the emotions coming out just eat at my heart.
