You can tell how much he loves singing this song. You can really hear the smile in his voice on the chorus. It makes listening to it even better (if it is possible to make this better) and even though the subject matter is a bit down makes the song fun.
'59 sound is definately my favourite album, The Backseat, Old White Lincoln, Great Expectations Meet me by the rivers edge and The '59 sound all in one album
@@goldenageenthusiast How was the concert? They're coming to my city but as part of a festival which has $250 tickets, so still deciding whether or not to go
oh my word, one of the best bands i've heard in years. these guys are amazing, brilliant song. i'm an older music fan and i seriuosly thought there would never be a band like ever again. thank god i was wrong
These guys are fantastic! The 59 Sound is by far my most listened to album of the year. They carry over solid live performances as well. These guys are headed for the mainstream.
Long time friend to me ask if I would play a last-minute show with her, I sold her on playing 45 but I might show her this one instead since she also wants to play just like heaven. I wouldn't have caught it either
One of the best bands out there today in my opinion. Brian Fallon talked about the story behind this song in an acoustic version he did, and the way he tells it just puts a smile on your face.
A million thanks man, i wasn't able to get on with my life while the matter lay unresolved but you have set me free from my glass cage of conflicted emotion and I now take flight on wings of shiny, shiny chrome. Forever indebted, Pooklette.
heard this song for the first time tonight, blew me away.....i hear a springsteen voice, the cure's guitars and bass, and travis barker's punchy drumming.....into a sound i've not heard yet......nice job guys this song is fucking sweet.....
when Bruce Springsteen played with them in Glastonbury they're sales went up 200% in a week. and they are not "huge" yet, but getting there, great Great Band!
Heard this song on the radio and liked it... thought the band would be like a east coast version of the Killers. Got the album... and wow I was blown away. Nothing at all like the Killers but something a lot more special. They have a terrific lyricist in Fallon and they definitely have that something going fro them.
definitely agree. and its definitely not a bad thing at all. listening to this band/album for two weeks and i haven't been this addicted to a band in a long time. just something about them that's amazing.
A friend of mine just linked this video to me. I never heard of this band before, but they sound a lot like The Killers, one of my favourite bands. I approve! ^^
these guys r sweet! theyre music is alternative and they can throw it down but it really reminds me of classical rock music idk y? love it and love the album, my fav of the year alongwith new wave and buzzin
I don't speak German. I was there when Bruce Springsteen came on and performed a duet with Gaslight. Later that evening Brian Fallon joined Bruce on the main stage for a duet.
i never even heard of these guys before last weekend, then i saw them at oxegen, they're fricken incredible. would have loved to been at glastenbury when the boss played with them.
Well I went to Best Buy and they only had 59' Sound and not the one before it, I can't remember the name. But 59' Sound is just excellent I will have to find the other album on Amazon or something. I am sure you can find "Senor and the Queen" album online also.
i thought he sounded like brandon too. thats what got me listening to them. the beginning to "been a contender" sounds like sams town brandon. but in the end they are completely different bands but equally awesome

I agree with The Cure comment :) I think that's partially why this band makes me so happy

For those old schoolers, the drum-bass line sounds like Cure's "Just Like Heaven".
Didnt notice it. Nice! :)
Long time friend to me ask if I would play a last-minute show with her, I sold her on playing 45 but I might show her this one instead since she also wants to play just like heaven. I wouldn't have caught it either

The next person who says they sound like the Killers is getting hunted down and taught how to use their ears in a responsible manner.

You sound like the boss, and that a big compliment
