i've never been so disappointed that a song wasnt on spotify
I find myself coming back to this song from time to time over the years. Beautifully haunting.
Darragh Collins one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever had the please of hearing:
i dunno if you gonna see this but, you cannot believe how right this is....I too come back from time to time and listen to it while doing nothing, seems like the world stop spinning for a moment...
@@nrajgn As I said, I come back to this song from time to time, I completely agree.
@@DarraghC152 Welcome back then....
This song is incredible!
He writes some of the most touching music somehow. Every single song sang with such sincerity and soul that they cant help but touch you. Its amazing
It really is Joseph, the man has such an amazing voice and songs.
He’s my John Lennon, brother!
c🎃
Because he lived through it...
magic
Nobody gives Alex enough credit on this song. His keyboard fits so well into Ian's slide playing that they sometimes are hard to differentiate, but the space would feel much emptier without. Beautifully haunting.
Old ass comment to reply to but I remember watching just Alex in Toronto during their 59 Sound reunion and realizing that second to Brian's songwriting, it's Alex's musicianship that forms the soul of TGAs sound. It's why Brian's solo stuff sounds a little different, Alex adds a darkness and curiousity, and explorative quality, to Brian's structured storylines. That sound is what makes TGA sound how it does. They're all musicians in their own right
fallon makes me wanna be a better human, a prophet of life
That line..."of course I smiled, it was bright like the ramparts on the fourth of July.." Somehow in this version, it hits me right in the heart every single time. Brian just has the magic way with words and the way he delivers them.
I met this man 2 years ago. Went to the gig he did at a record shop in Nottingham instead of the main gig that night as I thought it would be more intimate. I just shook his hand and said thank you.
I could never have handled that. I would probably pass out...
He’s pretty chill! I remember a group of us hung around after a Gaslight Anthem concert and he came over and took pictures with us.. He even put his arm around me when it was my turn! 😍 A cool guy, for sure ~
This video is amazing. Especially when the crowd sings "Cries like a baby". Brian always has this genuine facial expression. You see that he really enjoys it.
Infinitely better than the recorded version I'd heard previously. So much pain in his voice.
That guitar work by Ian is so haunting yet beautiful at the same time
His guitar work makes it very haunting
one of the best songwriters of our time.
aint that the truth.
when i was in 4th grade, we had this sort of class preview, meet the teacher type thing before school. My mom noticed a boy sitting by himself with his head in hands. She had me go introduce myself to him. his name was simon, and he had just moved to the midwest from california. He hadn't met anyone yet. Come the school year, we had become friends. him, me, and our friend Neil had become an inseparable trio. Flash foward to high school and we were closer than ever. Climbing up abandoned buildings and walking around at night to smoke weed, we were best friends. My sophomore or maybe junior year, Simon introduced me to brian fallon; he had been introduced to him from his older brother and the gaslight anthem. I heard "smoke", and immediately fell in love. brian fallon was absolutely my favorite artist. his relatable lyrics, raw vocals, and gorgeous instrumentals had taken me by storm. the summer before my senior year of high school, I had started talking to this girl named ava. We had gotten pretty close and a relationship was forming. that summer I took her to a party at the house of neil, where she decided she liked neil more than me. neil said he was not going to date this girl that had been brought to his party by his best friend. I was rather upset, having talked to this girl for months, only for her to decide she doesn't like me anymore. A few months later, She had began dating simon, whom she had met at the party. Simon and I remained friends. we had classes together senior year and even worked together once covid hit and school was cancelled. I still talk and hang out with neil regularly, but i haven't heard from simon in over a year, not for lack of trying. I'm a little drunk rn so I'm sorry for the rant, its just hard to listen to brian without thinking about simon. We used to be so close. I miss him, and I don't know what I've done to upset him. I hope he's doing okay.
This is everything
It's hard to even begin to describe how much I love this song and utterly moving this video is for me, I hope Brian Fallon never stops because songs like this can move mountains
2022… and “I’m somewhere over the Rainbow for you…” 🖤🖤
I want this as my funeral song, hauntingly beautiful
It has been added to my funeral song list...not to mourn death but to celebrate the divine passion of life and music...his voice and lyrics hauntingly raw and honest...and cuts to the ❤️ ...
I'm Brian Fallon's biggest fan! He is literally inside my heart....forever. I love him.
WTF this is so amazing. All that build up for "I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you"
i adore him,i could spend the whole night talking to him at a bar
Holy shit. I didn't think any version could beat the other one I've heard. New level!!
FALLON IS A MASTER AT LYRICAL ART, AND IS A MELODY GENIUS
My heart hurts in the most beautiful way for this song
Who are the 8 people that disliked this?!? This is such an amazing song, this video was so well shot, and the crowd is fantastic. What's not to like? Brian Fallon is a genius 💗
That would be Mary, Gale, Janie, Anna, Maria, Virginia, Estella, and Broken Bones Matilda, who are all now very regretful
I found myself singing the Amazing Grace section to this song. I wish that was a part of this live version.
He added that at the end of the song during a live performance at Union Chapel, London Feb 9th 2019. Amazing!!
That Guitar by Ian is just so haunting.. Goog god.
Hauntingly beautiful tune and yet another music artist to add to my playlist 😊❤️🎶🎼
February 23rd my person left this earth come back to this song often
Brian & TGA doing what they do best! This is simply perfect....
Brings a tear to my eye every time
12/10 amazing what songwriting and storytelling should be.
This is very precious. This is one of the most heart felt songs I’ve ever heard. Gets me right those feels.
Wow. Always loved the recorded version of this song but this performance is something else!
This song, the lyrics and the sound is simply and utterly amazing!!! Brian Fallon always has a way with words.
Back here again.... absolute class!
and now one more year!
These videos blow away The Horrible Crowes Live DVD in every aspect. More.
Great audio and video quality, and great performance. Ian's subtly sweet slide guitar contributed considerably to the song. Thank you for posting this!
He says my Name 🫶 I just discovered this tonight ..I really like him!
This is pure beauty. So many emotions distilled down into chords and words.
the 18 dislikes I feel pity for
One of my Fave songs ever!! Brian I love u!
"I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you"

Breathtaking
i love his guitar tone here.
So haunting.
original version of this song is decent. this is spectacular.
The stories are Amazing, I could picture them!
He is my John Lennon!!! Savior!!!
Omg, i havent seen or heard of this song until now. This is amazing!!
Brian looks just like Tom Waits here, I think that fits the vibe of this song really well.
These guys are something else
And that sad smile, at 2:55, is the blues!
Powerful
Hey Brian you're fab- lovely slide guitaring from Ian too!
Amazing. Would love you to upload 'Sugar' from this set..
Can I say, "yeah, I get it"?, that's a forever song.
Thank you. My little dude songs to you. If your ever in Ecuador let me know.
This song deserves to be right up their with Stairway to Heaven, Free Bird and Born to Run
Agree.. from another Olde Goate
So it's overated and cliche as can be??
@@ragmandude So why do you bother to listen to and comment on it.
Crying.
yaaa!
So fantastic. Hopefully this will be happening again this year and I will be able to make the trek from Northern Ontario, Canada to join!
smasha it is happening again according to Andy Diamond right after this video went up
😪 WOW
Thanks Nick!
This is the mood when you read Mary's last letter as Arthur... This is immediately what I thought of
God damn Brian.
....wow
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
still the best
The guy shown around 2:48 is awesome!
I learned how to hammer,
In the burning August sun,
I learned how to lie and cheat,
How to steal and just how to run,
I fell asleep most nights,
Somebody elses blood on my tongue, your tongue,
You learn just how to run.
But It's just the blues, Mary the blues
Swirling around my head like your dreams in Dorothy's shoes,
I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you.
I learned how to cry,
In them lonesome September nights,
I learned to get by,
With the dogs and the dirt and the charm of the street
I fell asleep most nights,
With your pictures right behind my eyes, your eyes,
The killer and the victim,
Right at the same time.
But It's just the blues, Mary the blues
Swirling around my head like your dreams in Dorothy's shoes,
I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you,
But It's just the blues, Mary the blues
Swirling around my head like your dreams in Dorothy's shoes,
I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you.
And cause your smile,
Is bright like the ramparts on the 4th of july,
And my baby swings like a boxer,
And sends her right hooks under my chin,
She crys like a baby,
And she wears me just like a ring,
Crys like a baby,
And she wears me just like a ring.
I'd rather go then watch you leave
I learned how to swagger,
I learnd how to hold you while your body burn,
I learned how to compromise,
While this world went hurrciane turn,
We fell asleep most nights,
With each others blood on our tongues,
My love,
Have you ever just had enough?
But It's just the blues, Mary the blues
Swirling around my head like your dreams in Dorothy's shoes,
I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you,
And It's just the blues, Mary the blues
Swirling around my head like your dreams in Dorothy's shoes,
I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you.
And It's just the blues, Mary the blues,
Swirling around my head like your dreams in Dorothy's shoes,
I'm somewhere over the rainbow for you.
Thanks; I thought that might be the case.
" I'd rather go than watch her leave"
2018 someone?
2019 here
2020, what's going on in past years. Now its the Quarantine phase of Corona, brian is still a genius and in 4 days local honey has its release day🤗👌👌
Where can I buy this song, goddamnit!
Vreeland Homestead you can use a mp3 converter to convert the video 2 an audio file. Works good for these rare clips you’ll never find.
Mileage Unknown I bought it on vinyl!
Vreeland Homestead nice!
Id rather go then watch her leave 🖤
2021 and still listening to Brian Fallon from years ago!
@@sethcollom1180 everyday
Anyone got this on an mp3?
any guitarists in the comments, camera man obviously doesn't think so. I got capo on 4 key of G (so really B) but it sounds like some strings are not hitting the same melodies, as if it's a drop tuning but on the treble strings. Any hints?
Anyone have a tab for ians slide guitar
How you call a hat that is wearing???
Anyone know where I can download this song? I couldn't find it on I-Tunes, Amazon, etc.
+Tom Lusey Hey Tom, its an unreleased song
It will be on his solo album coming out the 11th of march!
+Eli Verwimp looks like its not on the solo. So bummed I love this song.
Nicholas Speer But you got 12 wonderfull songs instead ;-)
+Eli Verwimp I think its going to be on the box set LP so it may well end up on itunes too.
ANYBODY?! I cant seem to get the strumming pattern right.
d d dud d dud d dud d dud... change chord between the last up and down stroke and repeat. That’s how I play it anyway with some fingerpicking here and there.
The killer and the victim arrive, right at the same time.
will there be a live dvd or maybe a live record?
Nils r I sincerely hope so!
Nils r That'd be great but i've never seen anything like that from them. Well yet hopefully.
Eli, are you sure? I Googled the track listing for his solo album and it's not listed as one of the 12 songs. Did he re-name it? I've also looked for other versions of the album with extra songs on I-Tunes to see if it was there (which Gaslight did previously with Get Hurt), but there's just the standard release.
