Brian Fallon is the type of guy who can make you laugh when he's talking and break your heart as soon as he starts playing and singing... And that's why I love him and his work.
You're not wrong Tyler, he writes about the old reliables but the fact a lot of the time you can almost feel that he's almost certainly writing from experience..and that IMO is what sets him apart, there's a connection with the listener that can't be bought.💯
I've watched this for so many times over multiple years and it still seems to amaze me. Brian Fallon is a genius and i am so happy that i saw him live at Pinkpop
The Gaslight Anthem is a very prolific band, unbelievable. Between the combined musical talent, and very raw, and gritty lyrics styles of both Benny and Brian, though you can always tell when it's Benny's song, he has a different writing style than Brian. But very rarely do you ever come across a band that is both musically, and lyrically blended to make songs come to life and fill your senses...and makes everyone feel as though he wrote that song about something happening in THEIR life. The lyrics of Brian Fallon are something to truly aspire to. The ease in which he tells a story through verse and pros is something that points to his relying almost entirely on the integrity of his verses in that though me we may never know the story behind his songs - there definitely is one. The honesty comes through and I think that's what really makes The Gaslight Anthem one of the best bands to come out in the past decade.
This may be my favourite and most visited video on RUclips. Incredible set from an old fashioned genius that puts his heart and soul into every beautifully written word. Just so pure, raw and honest.
i’m on my last beer, my love one by my side. she’s carrying our first born. god damn...life is so weird...so hard...she makes me strong and i’m glad i have her...this music...& this beer. cheers to all, i pray y’all have it good. but trust but we all have it bad...but it’s when it is bad that we notice the good.
For some reason I thought it was fantastic how he forgot that he was tuned down when he went to start National Anthem at 16:05 and sung the first note in the regular key but he doesn't miss a beat and just adjusts and champs through the song instead of stopping and using a capo.
He's been pretty big about Bon Iver on his Twitter lately. I appreciate that he alluded to it at the end of Mae. His acoustic sessions are always great.
This man can save music. I fully believe he can do what Bruce Springsteen did for music. And that's where the comparisons between him and Springsteen end for me. They have a few subtle similarities and of course their lyrics will be similar but Fallon is not a Springsteen clone or wannabe. He can just have the effect on music that Springsteen had. It's amazing seeing them get the publicity they deserve. Amazing for them and for us.
love GA but daaamn, that audience seems like some extras otherwise brilliant, Brian's voice makes my heart ache and my mind wanders to loves and mistakes past...
Still watching 8 years later….
still after 11 ;)

Only live set that can stand alongside it (IMO) is Nirvana MTV Unplugged

I can't believe how Brian can weave such emotion and talent into simple chords and words. Silk for the soul!
Christophe Carpentier one the best songwriters alive
New Gaslight Album = A new set of Fallon acoustics to fall in love with. Heaven.
Brian Fallon and the Gaslight Anthem need more recognition than they have now
This may be my favourite and most visited video on RUclips. Incredible set from an old fashioned genius that puts his heart and soul into every beautifully written word. Just so pure, raw and honest.
One of the best cover versions of Sowing Season!
1930 = one of the best Brian Fallon acoustic songs ever - but for him to cover sowing season. I think i just died.
A great Fallon performance... 1930 was probably the best i have heard acoustically.
It seems like no matter how many times I hear it, I never get tired of Blue jeans & white t-shirts.
i have listened to this set i don't know how manny times i really wish i could have been there

Favorite live performance, never get tired of losing myself in it... thanks Brian!
Brian Fallon, your songs make me cry.
I have fallen asleep listening to the HUNDREDS of times over the years
great songs appear to be about loss, regret, and overall regret. Great voice, great writing, great playing, great talent!
I think this is quite possibly the perfect set.
Wow this cover of sowing season is the first time I’ve heard the song but that blew me away
absolute awesome! Best live/accoustic version of 45 ive ever heard
A pure poet. A never ending tribute to my youth
If only the youth of today idolised this as a posed to the poison of today.

Thank you so much for uploading this.
i come here often just to listen to this particular version. his acoustic renditions rival the actual songs.
he is such brilliant artist, writting so smart lyrics
His cover of Sowing Season just resonates with me on a level like nothing else. Thank you for uploading this.

You need to. I've seen Gaslight at least 10 times and they are absolutely phenomenal.
this is so jersey, i love it. the broad stage right in the blue makes it
The fact that not one person is talking during it is so amazing.
give me mercy and a minute now....
this guy is so awesome!
And he throws in a Bon Iver line at the end. So perfect.
Best version of 1930 ever

Gaslight Anthem: one of the few artists I actually pay for
none of them is replaceable! what matters most in a band is that the members form a strong unit, and gasight definitely do!
this dude never stops! Rock on Brian Fallon
Amazing man, you beauty, Mr.Fallon.
maybe the most perfect thing I have ever seen.
22:45 listening to this in 2024, and just heard for the first time, "Come on skinny love, just last the year." Cheers to Bon Iver!
