You made the right call. The S90 has a lot of shortcomings people just gloss over because it’s brighter. The S90C is less bright in SDR, has gray blacks any time lights are on nearby, has issues with dimming scenes more than the C3, has worse motion and processing, has a clunkier OS, etc.
That's true. I have seen that most people defend the S90C with its higher brightness etc. Although that's great to have, not everyone needs it. Like I mentioned, I lowered the brightness on my C3. Maybe I'll crank it up during the summers when the sun is out longer. Regardless, I'm happy with my decision. The s90c would have been a really good TV too but LGs reputation in the OLED world can't be ignored!

Great video. I purchased a Samsung S90C 3 months ago and it already died. (Froze, then wouldn't turn on again) Luckily the Best Buy warranty will take care of it no problem, and I'm considering switching to the LG C3 instead. My question is how does it perform in extreme low light, no ambient light, and turning the brightness down to nothing. Does it maintain a reasonably accurate picture? The S90C because of how the QD-OLED works, it leans blue and makes everything look purple in extreme low light. I love how my OLED phones (LG and Samsung) perform in low light, but that wasn't my experience with the S90C.
Oh that sucks. That’s one of the reasons I didn’t get the S90C. I was afraid it might die on me soon. Sucks it happened to you. As for extreme low light, I’ll check it pretty soon and reply here. Currently I’m at 59% brightness and in a pitch black room, it’s great. I’ll take the brightness down to very and check how it performs! Sit tight!
Hey. Sorry. Forgot to respond. I did lower the brightness to lowest possible level and the picture was still accurate for me. Turned off all the lights. Just did it again. Haha

I didn’t say I’m knowledgeable when it comes to TVs. I just weighed the pros and cons of each TV and decided to get the C3. I did say that HDR 10+ is that bad. I just said Dolby Vision has become the standard for shows n movies. Honestly, big reason to get C3 was software and better QC. Most likely my next OLED will be Samsung!
@TechWiz Prince Out of the box Samsung s90c has better colors and more precise than LG C3. After calibration C3 is getting closer to S90c but still s90c out of the box is almost picture perfect. Uniformity is better on s90c. Brightness is better, sound is better, reflection is better. And If you get the gen2 qd oled panel on S90c you should not be worried about burn in also and s90c is cheaper! So overall its a no brainer. But in 65" there is a chance you could get gen1 qd oled still, even samsung stop producing gen1 in august 2023. So overall Lg C3 is better in upscaling (not by much) and Web Os. Everything else is just not on pair with gen 2 qd oled, and EVEN LG g3 is having much problems justifying steep price against qd oleds because it has inferior technology. Lg c3 is by no means bad TV and I hope you love it, its amazing Tv but for the price....
Weird. I have read so many posts on reddit and seen so many videos where the S90C requires calibration for accurate colors. Nevertheless, both TVs are great. The S90C has its strong points while the C3 does as well. I would have given the S90C a chance but it's been mostly out of stock at BestBuy here in Canada. That said the C3 is more than enough for me! Maybe my next OLED will be a Samsung!

Currently I have a 75” Q6F and while the picture is great and colors are super vibrant… I feel like my LG TV has better motion. Thoughts?

you mentioned that you lower the brightness and you feel okay with that but the higher the brightness the more colors that can be desplyed, and the ability to maitan the colors in the brightest parts and the darkest parts. it is harder to keep the details with max brightness. as a technology the QD Oled have better color capacity. and I have S90C and a previous LG B1 owner and best on the videos the shadow details are better on a QD Oled, so ever if you use less brightness QD Oled with show more details in the darkest parts. QD Oled showed way less life expectensy against " burn in " on a video I saw , althogh it was a stress test and not realistic scenario it showed that WOled is more resilient.

Because you're not seeing both of them at their max, you're just seeing them at their out of the box settings which looks dull in comparison to what they can look like.
I’ve got Samsung S90D and the motion is not good at all, I wish I went for C3 or C4. Don’t know if I can return the tv though.
Oh ok. That sucks. Maybe play with the settings!
lg tvs are best for gaming they nailed the motion handling
Indeed. I have heard motion handling is much better on LG!
That's a next nonsense, because Samsung has 144hz, LG has 120... :D
@@andrejlukac1783 if you think screen refresh rate has anything to do with motion your way off . motion handling is apparent in movies with 24fps 😉
Samsung always best solution for gaming 4k144hz must be better than LG 4k120
@@PcGamingForFun Yea that's true, I have S90C few days and the motion handling isn't perfect, but if you will set it, it's good, sometimes are there some artefacts, but nothing terrible. Samsung is cheaper than LG and has better picture, so it still worth it
You made me clean in the head. thank you man!
Glad I could help!
C3 is my choice too but S90C is $100 cheaper than C3 right now on amazon. Will still go C3 i guess. Y’all think it will lower in price in the coming weeks or $1599 would be the cheapest?
These TVs will go lower in prices soon as we have the c4 and s90d around the corner. C3 was cheaper for me here. So went with that. Maybe next OLED will be Samsung. Or sony!
Price is $1299 bruh
@@bobjohnson6131 i seen that lol apparently lowest it went to was $1099. Might go ahead and pull the trigger on that $1299. Thanks!

No Dolby vision was a deal breaker for me. I watch movies more than game so the c3 was the clear choice
Same. I also watch movies/tv shows more than I game. Dolby Vision is awesome.
@@TechWizPrince HDR10 is just as good. You thinking Dolby Vision is all that really shows your lack of knowledge when it comes to TVs. I guarantee you would not be able to tell the difference between Dolby Vision and HDR10 unless they were right next to each other side by side comparison...and even then the differences are so miniscule.
Doesnt matter if youre using a receiver right?
I don’t think it matters. It has to be supported the display. A receiver cannot magically do that.
I got 65" lg c3 for $1200....ye sorry samsung price is just too good to pass up
Where did you get it ?
@@gerarldsvv Superbowl sundAy. Deal expired in like a day
@TechWiz Prince Out of the box Samsung s90c has better colors and more precise than LG C3.
@@TechWizPrince Those posts are likely made by LG fanboys. Samsung is more colour accurate out of the box, at least in DCI P3 mode.
What is more important S90C Samsung QD OLED is future proof 4K 144hz for gaming people best TV on market today
I’m trying to decide between these two TVs… I’m one of those people who love the automation stuff (soap opera effect some call it). Which one of these TVs has better motion? Currently I have a 75” Q6F and while the picture is great and colors are super vibrant… I feel like my LG TV has better motion. Thoughts?
@@dneall7 LG does have slightly better motion but the difference is very small and most people won't notice the difference. You'll have to get a Sony TV with XR clear like the A80L to get a noticeable improvement in motion handling.
i was watching until i saw that you watch MrBeast. then i lost all respect for you. hahahaha
Lmao. My brother watches him. He used my RUclips ID cuz I have RUclips premium.
But I do watch his videos occasionally. The ones where he does good for the community etc. Not the get x amount of money by doing y. Lol
you mentioned that you lower the brightness and you feel okay with that but the higher the brightness the more colors that can be desplyed, and the ability to maitan the colors in the brightest parts and the darkest parts. it is harder to keep the details with max brightness. as a technology the QD Oled have better color capacity. and I have S90C and a previous LG B1 owner and best on the videos the shadow details are better on a QD Oled, so ever if you use less brightness QD Oled with show more details in the darkest parts. QD Oled showed way less life expectensy against " burn in " on a video I saw , althogh it was a stress test and not realistic scenario it showed that WOled is more resilient.
Yes. QD oled is certainly superior than Woled. But I still like the C3. For my use case, it’s perfect. Maybe my next oled will be a Samsung QD-OLED.
@@TechWizPrince you seem to have had bad experiences with Samsung and LG is a very reputable company, i believe I saw news about that Sony is also using or going to use QD Oled, so you may get the best of three worlds, with QD-OLED from Samsung and Dolby version that you can't get with Samsung but LG doesn't have QD-OLED, and the superior image processing from Sony. I think the biggest catch with sony is going to be the usual high prices!
@monderkbaeli9411 yeah Samsung’s software sucks. And my LED TV from Samsung gave up on me after about 4 years of use. So I wanted to go away from Samsung for a while.
As for qd-oled, Sony would be a great choice. Although the prices would mean I need to sell a kidney. Haha
@@TechWizPrince lol maybe they will come to their sences and lower the prices in the fuure, because technology gets cheaper and better overtime. and smasung software works flawlesly for me with S90C , but LGs software gives way more better useful options. in samsuung many options are grayed out and only work under certain condetions.
@monderkbaeli9411 haha yeah. Cheaper would be much better for consumers. OLEDs are still relatively expensive.
I choosen Samsung s90c when compared LG c3 only know who's feeling well the Samsung brand
I own an LG C1 OLED and like it a lot but by all accounts the S90C is the better TV when matched up against a C3.
Yeah. But software is sooo good on LG. And low content smoothing also. But both TVs are great! My next OLED will be QD-OLED for sure!
You made the right call , samsung does not respect the creators intent in both movies and games , colors are over saturated and HDR is over brightened in games , also they can nerf the tv anytime with a firmware update , you dont have a guarantee that your tv will stay the same
Oh ok. Yeah LG tvs are really good. I know qd oled is superior but sometimes you just need something more reliable. And LG is more reliable than Samsung
Low quality content smoothing is a huge plus. Ginormous really.
Yess. That’s very true. Low content smoothing is very important!
What does Low Quality Content Smoothing do?
@@pluvse makes RUclips and low/mid quality streaming look much better
Exactly. The low quality content looks much better.
The samung qd oled has grey blacks in a bright room though!! My lg C2 does not!
I couldn't get the C2 from BestBuy. Hence, the reason I got the C3. Samsung QD OLED has its weaknesses
Erm, the s90c does not have grey blacks. The s90s is a fantastic set and way cheaper than the c3.
I actually got the C3 cheaper than the S90C.
The s90c wasn't in stock. The C3 came in around $200 cad cheaper!
@TechWizPrince all tvs have there weaknesses.
Yes of course. Not saying the C3 is perfect.
Lg is miles better, dolby vision and dolby atmos is a game changer, I play way more on the c3 then Samsung s90
Oh okay! Yeah. Honestly, I'm loving the LG C3. It's perfect for my use case. Dolby vision is soo awesome. Love watching content on this tv.
@@TechWizPrince I only got mine the last month and now the c4 is coming so it will be interesting to see the difference, RUclips 4k 120fps videos look incredible, the series x runs very good on it too
Yeah. C4 is rumored to not be that better than C3. Just minor bumps in brightness etc. C3 also saved me $$$ while C4 won’t be on sale anytime soon. Had C4 gotten the MLA tech, I would have been sad about getting the C3. I’ll most likely get a QD-OLED for my next OLED. Even though it won’t have Dolby Vision.
C3 is my choice ❤
S90c is best tv picture quality is way better then any of the oled due to qoled
OK! Lol. To each and their own. No TV is perfect. While the S90C is great, it does have a few shortcomings. So does the C3. You can't go wrong with either!
Only gaming
It’s crazy, LG has been shipping out fridges that fail to keep food cold and legally customers can’t do anything about it, yet people are calling others “samsung fanboys” while LG literally is selling shit products and have their lawyers find loopholes to avoid refunds or replacing them. And this is more recent then this video
This video is biased, LG C3 is very good TV, thats true, but S90 is overall better TV, has better panel, better brightness, better sound, more HZ (for gaming), better colors, and in 77" version is much cheaper than C3, there is no reason for buying LG, yes, LG has better OS and interface and slightly better motion processing, but if you are watching RUclips, Neflix or you are gaming, it doesnt matter. And by the way, Sony which has best TVs on market is using Samsung's panels on high end models, and you know why? Because they are better :)
What is more important S90C Samsung QD OLED is future proof 4K 144hz..
Lol not biased at all. I just gave out the reasons I chose the C3 over the s90c. The s90c is a great TV too. Sure it has higher brightness or more HZ for gaming. I don't game on PC, so 144hz doesnt matter. Heck even 120hz games on consoles are rare. As for brightness, I mentioned I don't need the TV to be too bright as I'm in a dark room.
I even got the 65" C3 cheaper than s90c by $200 odd dollars. For my use case, the C3 made more sense.
@@TechWizPrince if you are in dark room and play just on PS5 and LG C3 was 200$ cheaper than S90C.. you are good in your decision
Gran elección! Samsung es mejor tecnología Miniled, pero en Oleds.. LG is the best.
a lot of anecdotal data here
I mean it is showing why I chose the c3. I’m not arguing with facts but rather my personal experience and choices.
It’s true what you say, but then why does your video look great on my Samsung 50” Q60C tv? 😂 But a QLED tv does look way better then a regular LED tv.
Yeah QLED is better than LED. Hence the video looks better. Honestly, the real difference is watching movies tv shows etc on other apps. Dolby vision and other benefits of HDR really show then. RUclips is still really nice on OLED.
You just sound biased.
How is that?
