It must be really surreal if you’re Man Moth, never fully realising how much of a hero you are to so many fans! Thank you.
He’s a living legend
Just be glad you belong to the most sublime pocket of sentient being in the universe, the Manmoth Community.
66 Million views across his channel. That’s insane.
47:26 is such a wholesome moment of joy
Don’t mind me, I’m just leaving a comment so I know how long it takes me to do a round trip,
It's been over a year and you haven't come back round... Cleary you're not that much of a fan.
Don't mind me, I'm just leaving my mark here so I can know how long it takes me to get back round, currently I'm on my 127th trip, still laughing.
I forgot to update! I ran past! I feel I’ve let people down :(
@ Leeroy "I forgot to update!"
Brilliant. You're an idiot. Play a record. ;)
@@leeroyjenkins5754 any more updates?
@@lookatthisstupidcomment5064 lol thanks for checking in - currently on s4 so not long until I’m back here
I’ll let you know ofc 😂
I know I've listened to these too many times when I can now quote along to about 90% of the episodes... ah well, onto the next one!
Johnny Mango - laying the path for Dickie Anders and Paul "The Party Animal" Parker to follow
jcrawley1 What if it was the same person! :o
jcrawley1 don't forget Wendy Karl's critic
don't forget Holy Fuk Gayvid Grey the bent pianist.
Johnny Mango is making me laugh far too much. I think just the fact that all of you also know who he is, but so few people in my actual life will have a clue, one or two maybe..
@@deltaframes-os4km and Posh Bloke!
Karl was imagining St Patrick ridding Ireland of bears by "whacking them with a stick" hahaha
From horse back though.
midget bears
He kept whacking the cocker with a stick, just like Pavlov with the dog’s head
Listen to how well Ricky got along with Karl in these by not annoying him and just having a chat, compared to later seasons where he shreds him every episode and Karl gets genuinely fed up.
+SkandiaAUS It's sort of depressing to go back to the early episodes and see how much fun they actually had. It just seems to get to Karl eventually and Ricky seems to just get worse with him.
+fpGrumms Ricky is just a straight up knob when it comes to Karl, not as much at this point but he's constantly insulting him in the later series because Karl doesn't retaliate, I honestly will never like Ricky.
+SkandiaAUS I think in the early days you see Steve pandering to Ricky by giving quick witted insults that fly over Karl's bald head. I grow to like Steve more in the later years, and Ricky less.... but alas, I do miss them all. :(
+SkandiaAUS The piss taking of Karl escalated throughout this series as a way for Ricky/Steve to get him involved more, they realised the "diamond in the rough" they had.
The famous climax of piss taking resulting in Karl losing it and legging it off early was the start of a new phase of the show. My guess is they had a discussion and Ricky explained that the 'piss take format' worked and Karl agreed to 'play up' to the village idiot character and not take it personally. He never really reacts again after that episode (season 3 midway) despite being introduced as a bald manc twat every episode!! :)
+deloford if anyone wants to hear Karl really lose his shit it's episode 46 of season 2. Ricky and Steve won't let anything he says slide, and you can hear Karl shout "I HATE HIM! I HATE HIM!" as the record fades in, with real hate. Then he comes back next episode and they've set all these rules. imagine the meeting they had where they negotiated number of head squozes and squeaks per episode.
Karl laughing at 47:30 always puts a smile on my face
This clip is the most I've ever heard Karl laugh. He's laughed in quite a few other clips but never like this lol
This, “mint imperials” and the gang of monkeys are my favourite Karl laughs
My favourite giggle from the k man is when he’s telling the wheelie bin story, then mentions how his dad also drove some old ladies around and and Steve jokes that Karl’s dad also put some of the old ladies in the bin
Karl:"I'm sick of this " at 42:41. Awww, I love those little gems under the breath.
Karl laughs so much in this episode. Can hear him giggling throughout Ricky's sound effects bit (39:52), laughing while talking about the balloon thing, and little giggles/exhales at some jokes (31:28 25:24)
I wonder if most of his laughs in later seasons just weren't picked up by the microphone, because you can hear it a lot in season 1
i think it's just cuz he decided it was funnier when he doesn't react to anything
Karl got more depressed as Gervais became more overbearing and overly critical. Mid series one is the most wholesome and my favourite section of the podcasts
Later seasons he was probs just fed up with Ricky tbh haha
not to mention 47:31! Little fella.
The Gloria Hunniford story always makes me sad. Her daughter was in Australia receiving experimental cancer treatment, which wasn't successful.
Little fella there...
29:49
Steve
So you were playing dead arms while she was off dancing and getting her hole ruined 🤣🤣🤣
I’m not even sure he meant to say that but it’s ace
'while she was off dancing and getting her hole ruined' excuse me Steve
Surprised Rick didn't pick up on that haha
I was gonna put this but it was literally the first comment😂😂
Said to my work mate did i hear that right.... rewound and re listened and sure as hell sounded as dodgy as the first time i heard it. 5th or so go around on these and never picked up on it before
Considering he was referring to a 7 year old it's probably for the best no one drew attention to it LOL
Timestamp? :)
42:40 the first on air “Sick of this...” from Karl
“Table 60 - Lisa tarbuck” is such a good choice for a British “you’ve heard the name” C list celebrity. Probably why they cast her in “when the whistle blows”
One of the best episodes, this is why I love season 1.
“oh the humanity of it ALL!!!” .. Karl floating off into the clouds. 😂🤣😂😆
Really needed Karl this year more than any other. He’s an incredible human.
Hope you're doing alright now mate.
Agreed. Kept me sane last year.
23:50 that david brent laugh ricky does when karl says lezzer haha
I'd love to see them watch these back and put it on youtube like a reaction video! That would be amazing! 😂
They would pause it and argue all the time it would be awesome
That would be great is someone like Sebs Duran did that. He is a huge Karl fan and does reactions to his other stuff.
Great idea!! I'd love that!!
I bet this was what inspired the movie "Up" ;)
Supposedly, Up was inspired by a famous French short film called the Red Balloon!
Just here during corona virus 2020. Hope I can look back on this comment and reply a year from now
@Fruitsi shit innit
Did you survive the flu pussy?
@@chriskelly9361 no I died.
Almost been a year
@@NyalBurns yea .. 12 weeks to flatten the curve my arse.
I actually learn things from listening to these! 😂😊
We were playing dead arm!!!
i'm listening to this in the lab and from time to time ricky's laugh rings throughout the room. wish there was a way to automatically muffle that.
feritosman my bathroom echoes, I can't turn the volume down low enough so his laugh doesn't hurt my ears, and listen to the rest of it comfortably
15 years today this was broadcasted. I can agree with Ricky's and Steve's annoyance of English people over hyping St Patrick's day.
Read this comment and was like god 15 years.... then realised this comment was also 6 yrs old ._.
Haha, me too 😀.
Ricky's laugh is very loud, love the show, how many years after it came out
"SOMEONE stood on her dress and put a hole in it"
Man Moth! Do you know there's recently been an extended version of this episode "discovered"? Would be great if you could update the playlist to include the full version of this episode. Cheers.
Here before my first job interview to calm down! Hope it goes okay
How did it go?
‘What’s that big balloon that blew up and the newsreader was going all mental’
I love that they started playing wu tang in last couple shows. Makes me like them even more
HipHop Hooray!!!
Ricky just turned 61, the same age that Gloria Hunniford was when this was recorded...
Literally with I the first minute
Karl "Can you IMAGINE!"
Ricky: *Mutters quietly* "Ah god" (Thinking here we go) 😂😂😂😂
When you get into these so much and want to watch the next one straight away, you keep forgetting too leave a comment
Yeah, or Adge Cutler
One of those RSK lines that occasionally jumps into my head unprompted is the way Gervais says "In my opinion, one of the best Crosswits players of all time JOHN JUNKIN". Ricky used to have this incredible talent for delivering a line in a way that pinpointed the risible banality of British culture.
This exact same energy is captured in the way he says "that's why I'd buy a plasma screen, to watch er.. BARGAIN HUNT" in S3E09 at 17:57.
Karl denying basic mathematical and logical concepts is my fetish.
My
Ok
Haha ml loop on
Maybe l
32:20 - "He er, joined the army.." "Right." "Yeah?" "Yep." "And erm, 'e was in the army and he got injured.." "Right" "So he went to 'ospital and whilst he was in 'ospital er World War I ended and he was like "Aww god I.." "I was enjoy that!" *laughs* xD
33:00 - "Er...Joins some other army...errmm...God, d'know I knew it all this morning?" xD
Joey Lock awesome
15:50
Golden drivel! XD
WORDS! WORDS! WORDS!
I'm glad they do talk. Shit. Twice!!!
"Oooh. Bears?"
i love how ricky just mentions his mate was gonna stay in his cupboard for 1000 pounds and no one questions him
I must have heard these a 100 times and i still piss myself
"God, I knew it all this morning" (KP realising he hasn't remembered anything that Ricky told him to read about Hitler)
I finally listened to Killing of Georgie yesterday after about 3 years.
"What, did he have asthma?"
"They all did."
I love how Karl just alludes to asthma being a necessary part of historical figures' childhoods.
Great relistening to these
The TRIC awards is one of my favorite RSK bits ever
Of course we've got the comedy genius moments like Rockbusters and Monkey News in the later series, but this might be my favourite episode. Purely because of how happy Karl is, thus how close and happy the trio are together. Also the part when they talk about the balloon shows that Karl actually enjoyed himself in this series, unlike in some incidents in later series.
the sound ricky makes in reaction to karl during "white van karl" has got to be one of the funniest things ever :3
Thank you
"foxes"
HAHAHAHAHA
Gus Woodrow "Ohhhhhhh... bears?"
The book 'One Flew Over the Clubhouse' currently holds a mighty 1 star out of 5 on Amazon UK. There is only one reviewer, so I think it's likely he/she is the only person who has read the book.
Karl laughing is the best thing
cheers man moth!!!!!!!!!!
"Mammoth! The big hairy cow...elephant!" -RG.XFM
Nicholas chip "what's that a 6 foot moth in yer wardrobe that can eat an entire jacket in a day"
Around 1:20 a really interesting topic starting to grow and rick aborts it looking for a bag.
Exemplar of how much of a train wreck XFM was
It always seemed to me that seemed like Ricky was subtly interrupting Steve agreeing with a fair point Karl made
47:27 That is Ricky's best ever laugh! 😂
15:35 "I'll learn you something 'ere, snakes..."
"Well, I, sorry, can I just stop you there and I'll TEACH you something..."
Savage
15:49 for the payback
20 years ago, holy crap
The Hindenburg did not have helium... it was hydrogen.
Still makes me laugh that Karl uses some random girl he was with when he was like 7 years old as an example when told Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears broke up. 😂
He's so bloody strange
for christ sake woman, come on!!!
Light my pipe
This is a great episode, must be the one where Karl laughs the most
29:50 - Steve!! Jeeesus
Every time I went to the dentist as a kid we got given a helium balloon - me and my brothers would put our address, thinking it would get to Africa, and a message on a piece of paper tied to the string!!! 🎈
22:35 lets hear more from mr noisy neighbour!
33:25 - for years I thought Karl said "watermen" not "war to men" - I always wondered what watermen were, whether they were like they were like the frog men that Karl went to school with :.)
There are bugs called watermen they do star jumps on the water looks weird af used to see them all the time in Cornwall
Ricky got his way in the end, raising Karl up by balloons.
The moment I saw that episode of An Idiot Abroad, my first thought was 'finally, Ricky has got his wish' lol
40:00 Karl's giggling in the background 😄
Any one else notice that here Karl says someone stepped on Zoe Harris's dress but at another time he says he was the one to step on her dress?
Karl: Can you imagine...
Ricky: Oh, god.
7:09 “When everyone was doing the prayers did you look at them with your eyes shut?”
26:46 an all time great line
Hitler on Germany's defeat in WW2 - 'E was really annoyed about this, "Ah can't show me face around 'ere"
Did anyone else Get a dirty image when Steve said 'so she was off dancing and getting her hole ruined'?? Surely Smerch didn't mean it like that???
I know this comment was a while ago but yes I thought the same thing hahah
Hahaha was just about to type this!
Actually I always assumed he did mean it like that! :p
You would. xD
I'm pretty sure he meant getting get dress ruined with a hole but it's an incredibly funny Freudian slip
29.50 "You were playing dead arms while she was off dancing and getting her hole ruined" Nice one Steve.
29:50 classic line about a 7 year old getting her hole ruined
"Fer Christ's sake woman come on"
"Light me pipe"
UP the film is definetly Karl when he's old 😂
Zoe Harris story is the best. Lol I love it.
47:26 Never noticed Karl laughing here.
Does anyone ever wonder about where Zoe Harris is now? XD
Constantly
Broadcast 17 years ago today😳😳
I was 3 years old when it was broadcast
Karl's first telling of the story of his first girlfriend in infant school :D didn't mention his fight with the other boy though from the later Ricky Gervais show podcasts!
Ted Clarke you’re out of order!
Show her a bit of bloody respect!
Cut it out!
"It's over, there'll be no more "Alright?" in the morning!"
2021 and he's still not been in the air
They shouldve got Josh Groban in so that when Karl takes off he belts out 'You raise me up...'
28:30 another Ricky word jumble
"Words are my tool!" :D
david bowie :_( RIP
+Ruby and Lemmy
So many of the celebs mentioned in the first 10 mins are also dead... And only in 14 years. Beadle, Henry Cooper, Gloria hunifird daughter
+Rahul Dahoob when you mentioned that Gloria woman's daughter, she wasn't dead in Australia like they we're kind of hinting?
12:51 the noise Karl makes hahahhaa
How did I miss - "So you were playing dead arm while she was off dancing and getting her hole ruined?" this many times! 29:47
For the record, Hydrogen is flammable. Helium is not. - - - However, one study actually backs up Ricky here. It found the shell was a very flammable material coated in flammable lacquer. The study suggests that the disaster characteristics were not consistent with a hydrogen explosion.
I used to love Andy Crane. I'm so pleased that he wasn't one of them operation yew tree suspects.
Helium is a noble gas, it doesn't react to other elements, thus it is not flammable.
Having inadvertently avoided opening his biography segment with the redundant, "He was born...", Karl made up for it almost immediately when he pointed out that Adolf was one of the two Hitler children who survived past childhood.
Starting off “he was a young lad” was almost just as good lol
"He said he can rememberz. being in the womb." I don't know if I'd want Karl in my life all the time, but I'd love to have a drink with him.
Gloria Hunniford's daughter Caron actually died a couple years after this.. :(
like a big wave....
4:02 ahahaha lol
Karl saying what he said about will young when white van man asked what he makes of him being gay was spot on. it doesn't matter
I love how Karl missed that little Russia episode in his Hitler biography.
