Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RUclips videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
I just came from a XFM video that had, no-bullshit, 28 adds. Admittedly the video was about 4 hours long but 28 fucking adds? That's pure greed, all they did was upload someone elses content.
Happy new year folks. Another year of cycling through the xfm series, and then the ricky Gervais show, then the guides. So I'll catch you guys again at some point when I listen to this one again
XFM 2-05 0:00 Feeder - Come Back Around 2:03 Doves - Caught by the River 6:13 Sugar - If I Can't Change Your Mind 13:02 Oasis - Little by Little 13:09 The Vines - Outtathaway 18:26 David Bowie - Sweet Thing 25:16 Ash - Envy 25:21 Badly Drawn Boy - Something to Talk About 32:50 Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower 40:52 The Verve - Lucky Man 41:00 The Strokes - Someday 44:16 Elton John - Tiny Dancer 53:25 Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful (I'll Put a Spell on You)
wow, I thought *I* was obsessed by just doing *this* :P just kidding, glad you appreciate it. I *really* don't want to rain on your parade, but editing music back in is probably a big risk for getting them taken down for copyright infringement. :( I warn everyone against uploading episodes with music in, at least to RUclips, we don't want this stuff blacklisted en masse. You're 'free' to do what you want on your own pc though, obviously ;) All you'd need then is one of them little Rainman-fellas or Forrest-Gumps that remembers all the ads and you're laughing :P
45:10 - Steve thinks he's in here, offers to help the woman 50:40 - Steve realises he needs to check if the woman's already got a child, which could indicate a partner 51:02 - Now that he knows the woman has a baby, Steve loses interest and wants to stop playing 53:08 - Steve realises that she might have a baby but not a husband or partner, so tries to find out Oh, Steve
I love when Karl is talking about Johnno he says "What I mean is he does his own shopping", I allways think it's some saying or has another meaning but he actually means he does his own shopping
Crom haha I thought that exact thing about 5 seconds before reading these comments. I also love the ones where ricky is just casually like "P.I.M.P, 50 cent. Ricky gervais..."
ShoeLube most of these songs were probably forced on them by XFM. i found an xfm compilation album from 2002 and it has all this stuff on there. Black rebel motorcycle club, turin brakes etc. All the older stuff was probably chosen by Ricky and Steve tho
I must do a loop every 4 to 6 months...cause l see a comment of mine from time to time 4, 6, 8 or 12 months ago....even 2 years....and l think l listened way before that too.
I love how at 12:23 Steve says "Let's... Let's uh.... Yeah Rick should get some of that" all nervously to take the attention off of him for the eyes popping out comment LMFAO
Louie Cafarella in one of the podcasts Ricky says that since Karl isn’t working he has a lot of time on his hands and has more time to focus on his weird thoughts. I kinda buy into that because he seems weirder by the time of the podcasts. In season 1 of the xfm show he actually seems genuinely happy.
yess about Ricky not talking properly that's something I've noticed before lol I watch one of your video every night to fall asleep thank you for loading these
I thought Karl was talking about Georges Seurat Sunday painting, I finally googled Lowry after all these years and still Karl has made me laugh perfectly. A comedian god.
It must be hard to pick the titles for these, there's so much choice: - special frottage - I had some beans on toast - bit of a slippery dish - yer hands need to come off - It's just the right amount
Ricky - “Right we’re going to toss a coin in my head to see who goes first. Sara, ladies first you pick. Heads or tail?” Sara - “Tails” Ricky - “No” Gold😂 46:00
Think i've listened to these shows for about 10 times, but it's the first time i realise Gervais unintentionally 'helps' Steve in getting the right answer, by saying the word 'for' (thinking out loud) EXACTLY after Steve said 'devil'. In any kind of guessing game/brainstorming/creative process, such an association of words works wonders :) and you can see Steve gets it immediately.
11:13 Ricky mentions about being close to libel, which is funny because Jonno would tweet about this episode in 2013, saying that Ricky, Karl, and Steve did Libel him lol
They should do the show again, film it like Howard Stern show, this is their career, they need to make this stupid tinpot radio show for ever, it's unlike anything we've ever heard, it's fucking hilarious !!! Please do the show again !!!
I love the fact that Karl can’t even articulate the tense of his clue and is getting angry. “Why did he take him to the doctor”does not lead to the answer ‘sympathy for the devil’
I think he takes it pretty well considering how freakishly looking he was at this point. Pre 2010’s, Steve Merchant did look like an odd character. Ricky just loves the fact that Karl doesn’t mind pointing it out, it’s what makes the interaction more hilarious.
SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL!! Get me the time machine stat! I never get pop culture things!! Lol - Me older than 30 in 2022 wanting to win at trivia for once🤣
The amount of unnecessary, irrelevant bollocks in Karl's song stories is ridiculous! 😂 "see ya tomorrow, I'll be out again for a drink, see ya then, 7:30 ye" hahah! Love how he tries to defend it by saying he sees them like Columbo episodes, and that the murder happens for 3 minutes at the end, but the rest of the episode is filler....has he ever seen Columbo? There isn't a single episode where the murder doesn't happen at the start, and we see it! Columbo as a show isn't a 'whodunnit', but it's about us watching the Lieutenant work it all out!
You're not wrong Kevin. I really enjoyed the Office, Extras didn't wow me and Life's Too Short was awful. If I had to be on a desert island I would definitely pick these over anything else they have made. Would have Karl's books too.
Steve absolutely fucking loves bullying Rick Waller, he sees Rick as the kids that bullied him in school and you can hear the genuine joy in his voice when hes slagging him.

Ooo the rest of this run around has a fun little bonus. Man Moth, is the shit. Lots of love, us all.
😊

Don’t work Mondays like Karl…
What an absolute fucking Godsend you are, Man Moth. Love you too.
There's some uploaders who pack ad breaks into these episodes to make money. Thanks for giving it to us straight manmoth!

King Animal Advertising is fucking disgusting. x
id tolerate 28 ads to hear Karls 'Alright', steves 'sure, sure, sure . . .' and rickys laugh
are there really bastards that do that?
give it to me straight, like a pear cider made from 100% pears
The Man, The Moth, The Legend.
Rick Waller is 38 this year.

39 now.
Almost.
@@pbradics3670 That fat fucker is proving me wrong one day at a time.

Haha, yeah; "that man off Forrest Gump."
Who, Forrest Gump? x

Reminds me of "what were those things in gremlins called?"
This might be the best episode ever 😂 it’s an absolute shambles

'hmmmmm'
A million thanks for putting all these shows on you tube, i have listened to all these shows many times and still love them cheers👍
I love KP's appreciation of Lowry, but SM's quip, "you were looking out the window" was very funny.
I love industrial England scenes, so this Lowry stuff is perfect. Thanks again, Mr. Pilkington! And Man Moth!
I love when Karl is talking about Johnno he says "What I mean is he does his own shopping", I allways think it's some saying or has another meaning but he actually means he does his own shopping
Arran Bradstock this made me laugh way more than it should have
I started doing my own shopping at 23 - am I prematurely aged?
They wouldn’t ever have dreamed or even cared that soooo many years later there’s a community of people loving and sharing these shows.
How many shows did they start with that Feeder song? So far, it's pretty much been every one of the second series.
ShoeLube i kept thinking i was listening to the same episode!
I know, they can't get enough of Feeder.

Rick Waller. A legend in the XFM community.
Steve’s ultimate nemesis.
I would love Waller’s take on this.
Think i've listened to these shows for about 10 times, but it's the first time i realise Gervais unintentionally 'helps' Steve in getting the right answer, by saying the word 'for' (thinking out loud) EXACTLY after Steve said 'devil'. In any kind of guessing game/brainstorming/creative process, such an association of words works wonders :) and you can see Steve gets it immediately.
is it just me or does rickys guess "savior...devil...forlater" make u burst out laughing
My fourth or fifth time round? I left it a good 6-9months between my last listen 👍🏻
It's alright if you take a long break like that...we forget most of it don't we? Theres a shitload of material.
I lost count. Been on loop for 2 years. It is the only thing that gets me through the work day.
I don't think I could go a week without this twollop
Been a couple of years for me. Never gets old though!

It is going to happen, he's got some grouting to do first.
Just don't let his head get near a fruit bowl.
I would for real watch ‘The Pilkingtons’!
11:13 Ricky mentions about being close to libel, which is funny because Jonno would tweet about this episode in 2013, saying that Ricky, Karl, and Steve did Libel him lol

Jason Eaton I think they should do one when they're all above 70 just grumbling and reminiscing
😄😄😄👍🏼
I actually think Sympathy for the Devil was a very good clue/answer. Ricky is just annoyed that he didn't win
Groin Strain Ricky only complains when he does not get it
i always thought it’s more the point that the first 99% of the rambling story is completely irrelevant
To be fair the whole stuff about the grid is kinda irrelevant, but that's part of Karl's charm
2025 and here I am, things will never change.

Karl thinking that someone in their mid 30s is old is truly incredible. He talks like he's old himself even when he's 30 lmao
I would love to see Ricky and Karl playing football
God yes
Haha, definitely. Although I give it about 30 seconds before Ricky tackles Karl to the ground and tries to teabag him or something.
I love the fact that Karl can’t even articulate the tense of his clue and is getting angry.
“Why did he take him to the doctor”does not lead to the answer ‘sympathy for the devil’
If you disregard the first minute of the clue, it’s actually brilliant.
It’s all there!
A stick man with eyes on stalks!
“That’s not real then.” Low key funniest line of the whole series.
