I started this wonderful hobby in 2014 with an SCX10. Still own the truck and have added 12 more. I still have the grandpa and it doesn't perform much worse than the new ones. Greetings from Germany.
As a kid, I built static models until video game consoles... never played computer games. Played live with people all over the world for years! Until the hate... Couldn't communicate without players B.S. so quit live play many years ago. Spent so much money on games and consoles. Still have them.. think of how many RCs when consoles are $300-$500 and games $50-$100! Over 10ys! Ahhhh!!! I would never tof take a video game camping, but I have to leave behind trucks . My wife won't fit! Lol. Thanks bro for keeping it 💯
I bought the original Axial SCX10 kit that came with a unlicensed truck body including the beadlock rings in green. Like you I started with Tamiya CC01. Great memories.
Hey Gerry! I got in to late to talk about the SCX10, but I have watched many videos of them keeping up with ALL the other trail trucks out there... :) Thanks Gerry! Great video subject!
Those weighted rings are Anti Interference Ferrite Magnet Rings to reduce or eliminate electronic interference from electromagnetic fields. Love your channel BTW just don't comment very often! Keep up the great work.
I wish I still had mine. The original SCX10 was my first 1/10 scale crawler. Ended up turning it into a sled pulling truck and sold it a few years back.
I feel your pain. I regret selling mine. If I would have known that the original SCX10 was going to be out of production, I never would have gotten rid of it.
Hell yes this is the greatest long term review ever 👍I got a scx10ii clone that I like to bash around with. Works great for me, people put to much emphasis on performance.
I’d sure like to have one, I think I waited too long to get back into RC all the good stuff has been long since discontinued… I do still have my very first RC, an old Nikko FJ w/Pepsi logo from 1984 🤙
Great vid on the O.G. I have a 10.2 clone great rig lots of 10.2 parts available never broke a thing, once you strip away the inner fenders and 2 speeds etc. most rigs are based on that one anyway. Thanks for sharing.

Atari 2600 was my game console! Had a huge box of controllers and games that my first wife took!!😡🤬 wish I had that to sell!
The 10.2 was the blueprint for a lot of other rigs as well. The element Enduro, vanquish are heavily based off of the 10.2
So true axial was the early inspiration for many. And many Chinese company's still do!
@@gerrysoldguyreview The Chinese companies took off with the 10.2 chassis and are still running with it 😂

Mine is the og kit, green beadlocks are painted and on another rig. Body is in the closet😁😁

Thanks for the info, and tuning in!

It's always tough keeping rigs just for nostalgia

@@gerrysoldguyreview yes it is, especially when you’re offered something that you’ll use/get to enjoy much more.
True bud, true 👍
Awesome video Gerry, great review! I think I need that rig for my fleet.
Yes you do! Simple and excellent 👌
Still running my axle SCX 10 Jeep Rubicon JK 2012
Fine rig for sure!

Thanks 😁 with the proper mods, all can be performers.

Right on! Wish I still had some of my firsts. Tyco and Nikko!
