    Cool Jimi presses. I also love Shocking Blue. This year I scored that String Band album after being in my wantlist for years. Hard to find decent copies of the first Moodies album. Peace

      Thanks man! I rarely ever see that string band album. That copy of the Moodies is not the greatest but still plays well. Thanks for watching! ✌️

      Its really a great album! I sing no sleep blues every time I can't sleep! It gets better every time I listen to it! Thanks for watching ✌️

      Painting Box and The Hedgehog Song are my faves. Later albums are more polished, with a full band. They get more into the traditional Brit-folk mode on those.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  7 месяцев назад

      @seed_drill7135 The album gets better every time I hear it. Both are great songs, but the whole thing is really great and a very enjoyable listen. I've got their stuff on my wantlist but have never picked up copies, but I think I will next time I see them.

    Hey Sorin! Wow you’ve picked up some killer albums to round out the year! I may be in the minority by saying this but I really like that Moody Blues album and Go Now is such a good song! Denny Layne was such a great singer! Crazy that he went on to be in Wings with Paul McCartney! He was a huge part of that bands sound! I also kinda feel the same way about that Grass Roots LP I really dig it! But I am also a fan of 60’s pop stuff Really I enjoy almost all 60’s rock music!
    I passed on a copy of that Scorpio album a few years ago and have been kind of kicking myself for not picking it up! It’s a cool find!
    That Hendrix lot is awesome! Also I would tend to agree with you about his guitar prowess as well!
    I don’t have that Parachute album but I did find this Pretty Things album called Real Pretty that includes both SF Sorrow & Parachute in the same double album! I didn’t even know such an album existed until I heard it being played in one of my local record shops! Some really great finds here Sorin! Happy Holidays to you and yours! Peace ✨✌️👽✨

      I enjoyed listening to that moody blues album, I love a lot of 60s pop. Scorpion is not in the best shape and I kind of regret buying it off of ebay. Hendrix is the greatest, and so are the Pretty Things! Happy holidays!

    Kinda goofy is a great description of the Incredible String Band album. There are lots of great guitarist but Hendrix is my favorite. Axis Bold As Love is the one I played the most as a youngster and still do to till this day. I’ve never heard that Shocking Blue album.
    Merry Christmas.

    Ya had me at the Jimi Hendrix Exp!! Try ISB lp “ the Hangman’s Beautiful Daughter” truly folk/psych at its English best. Still have all my original issue Exp. records I got when released. You are so….. correcto about him being the best!! I have faith in the 60’s staying alive with young cats like you!! 🖖🚀

    Some albums I got in the late 60’s 1970 that you may or not know about that I like are, Amazing Blondel-A Few Faces, Sunforest-Sunforest, Bridget St John-Ask Me No Questions, The Paupers-Magic People, Shawn Phillips-Contribution, The Fugs-Second Album😊. So blessed to have seen Jimi Hendrix at the 1970 Isle of Wight festival, I still have vivid memories🎸. I have the original U.K. Axis Bold As Love on Track label, which has the lyrics on orange 🍊 coloured paper insert! The Dave Clark Five has Link Wrays Rumble on thier first album Sessions With The Dave Clark Five! Do you already have The Pretty Things-S.F. Sorrow 1968 it’s regarded as their most psychedelic album?

      @sorinvinyl1523  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the recommendations! I have a copy of magic people but I've got a few things to check out. Man I wish I could've seen Jimi, thats incredible. Orignal UK Jimi would be pretty cool to have. I donot have a copy of SF Sorrow yet, but its at the top if my wantlist. I hope I can find a copy soon! Thanks for watching! Happy New Year ✌️

    In your Are You Experienced hunt, Track Records reissued the mono version in the UK in the late 70's. Crappy, generic cover, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper way to get it in mono than an original UK. Great finds getting the tri colored Hendrix. Been collecting for 40+ years but never was willing to shell out the asking price on FYI and have never seen the tri-color Axis.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanka for the info! I'll look out for it. I much prefer Hendrix in stereo, but the collector side of me would be happy to own a mono as well 😁. I got very lucky with the Ebay lot, especially the tri-color Axis. Thanks for watching! ✌️

    Wonderful finds! If you’re not aware of the Canterbury Scene and the music that defined it, you probably would love that rabbit hole. Psychedelic folk is such a gorgeous thing… always loved our American counterparts such as Pearls Before Swine, Linda Perhacs, and Karen Dalton. Psych folk is very healthy and vibrant to this day, pulsing through artists such as Six Organs of Admittance, Davendra Banhart, Espers, Joanna Newsom, Animal Collective, etc. Keep sharing, enjoying, and exploring!

    12x5 is my favorite Stones album, I love the early stuff. Scorpion was a Detroit band (Motown), Funk Brothers, give it a few more listens, you will like it more and more each time. Jimi Hendrix? Never heard of him. I had that Link Wray album, did not like that album so I sold it. Shocking Blue, so good, loved her vocals. Pretty Things early stuff was way better than Parachute, they really changed their style from what they were, checkout their early stuff. What is your psych holy grail? Thanks for the video, good seeing a young lad interested in the psych and older R&R.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  7 месяцев назад

      I'll make sure to give scorpion another listen. I prefer SF Sorrow and Parachute to their earlier stuff, but I still think its great! My psych holy grail is probably Arzachel. But SF sorrow is near the top of that list. Thanks for watching ✌️

    Hey man. I'm glad that you're scoring some killer lps to end the year. The Incredible String Band cover is one of my all time favorites. Scorpion is interesting album, I don't know if I like it either. The Hendrix lps are essential. Link Wray I haven't found yet. Can't go wrong with The Pretty Things first 5 albums. Have a great holiday. ✌

    I’ve had that Link Wray eponymous album for many years. I enjoy it too. By the way, that album sleeve is an example of a printmaking method and art form called die cutting. There are many, many epic record sleeves over the years that incorporate die cutting. Led Zeppelin “Physical Graffiti” and Goat “Commune” are two albums that immediately come to mind because of their creativity and unique use of die cutting.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  7 месяцев назад

      It is a great album! I knew the name for it I just blanked while recording. I have many die cut albums in my collection and they are indeed epic. I havent heard of commune by goat so I'll check that one out. Thanks for watching! ✌️

    The Grass Roots were one of the handful of groups that first got me into the 60s as a kid. "Feelings" LP is likely their strongest as far as underground appeal. I've been lacking a nice copy of Scorpion. Love that one.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  7 месяцев назад

      The Grassroots do have some really great songs. I have the Feelings lp and its definitely my favorite. Dinner for Eight is a great one off of that album. My copy of scorpion is like g+ at best, but it plays through pretty well. ✌️
