- In this video I explain why blue smoke is coming out of your tailpipe (exhaust). Blue smoke can occur when accelerating, at start up, in the morning and idling.

Amazing info. Thank you so much. I borrowed an old Honda cub and notice a strange knocking sound of the engine and the blue smoke is constant.
I wasn't sure what it was. Now I think I know. Two thumbs up 👍👍
So what ur saying I’m screwed either way haha nice vid thanks lol
What about a pcv valve. Our 03 saturn mainly puffs smoke after an extended idle like at a traffic light. I pulled the intake hose off and there was a lot of oil coating the inside of the intake manifold. Thanks
Very interesting and helpful information. A bad PCV valve or faulty turbocharger seal can also contribute to blue smoke?
Yes
@@Top5AutoRepairs Thanks
Thank you.
I cracked a intake manifold replaced 2 gaskets on a 90k1500 350 no knock just low power and oil in the exhaust
thank you for the education. I have a 2008 Honda accord 2.4L with DTC P0341. vibration/shaking at idle without gear. Hesitation first then sudden jump when accelerating from a stop. Also very high negative fuel trims -17 and -19. Please advice
Ever found out the issue
Could the first one be also caused by using oil that's too thin
Thank you, for the video. Am also experiencing blue smoke from my Nissan navarra d40 when in idle, or reversing. Not experiencing any noise In the engine, or loss of power. Any other info, will do good. Thank you
did u got the problem?
Thanks man.
What would cause white smoke from start up, at idle and when held at 1500rpm, then blue smoke only when accelerating hard, then goes back to white when goes back to idle
mabe there is a problem with turbo
Dude, you could be a physician.
Kindly show me where i can locate the PCV of a 2013 ford escape 1.6litre ecoboost (SEL)...I would really appreciate a video.
I have a 335i I just bought. I have blue smoke but it’s not all the time. It every so often when I stop at light and accelerate.
same thing happens to me but mine is a 328i with the n52. I let my car warm up to temp before doing spirited driving so I'm convinced the valve stem seals are just a common failure point on these N series engines.
@@HeyImJorg wish I would never have bought this car or knew more what I should of looked for. A few more thousand I could of gotten something legit from a dealer 🤦🏻♂️ biggest most expensive mistake ive ever made.
The first problem could be a cracked and brittle what? Sorry i dont understand what comes after those word
I have a Toyota Aurion 2009 2GR-FE Enginee with 3.5 L V6 and I've been facing a problem since 3 years ago, when I go for a ride then turn the engine off for lets say 1-6 hours then turn it on, it doesn't start smoothly, there's a delay and there's a slight bluish smoke coming out of the exhaust but if I keep the car for one day, and turn it on... nothing happes, everything is smooth and there's no smoke, what do u think?
Is it good to rebuild a engine on the Tahoe 05
New top overhaul..the engine..change..valve seal andpiston ring..but the engine is nocking ang blues smoke..
But my d16 vtec its rebuild and trows smoke when i start the engine like 3 seconds then if its iddiling on a red light then when i rev up a lil trows again blue smoke just 3 seconds only like low rpms and everything its new on the engine
What about PCV Valve?
There's no piston slap The engine is real smooth and quiet but there's black smoker blue smoke Coming out of the tailpipe and out of the engine there's white smoke. Jeep cherokee xj.
I have a turbo 4efte engine and it smokes super bad when decelarating on low rpm like 3000-2000. It also smokes sometimes when I rev it at idle and those are the only times I see smoke out of the exhaust. I can hear a light ticking noise from the engine especially when I accelerate which seems to be going away as the egine warms up. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Did you find out what the problem was?
If the cylinder walls look good are the rings good.. most likely ?
Piston rings can still fail
Piston rings can still fail
@@Top5AutoRepairs do a compression test and if that's good it's probably value seals ?
Blown head gasket, bad intake and exhaust valves and worn piston rings and cylinder walls
@@Top5AutoRepairs ok got it thanks
My '86 6.2 is blowing blue smoke and im about to tear the motor down to find the problem, the problem is its my daily driver
Any guess on a 5.3L '08 Silverado with ' 100% normal looking spark plug wear' but intermittently runs smooth & not smooth, and has intermittent whiteish smoke while driving it.
I put in the new plugs & plug wires and 1 new coil for the #4 misfire that was not firing that sparkplug.
