Bec, I'm so glad you made the cut!😂The only other person I have ever seen who can "turn it off and turn it on" like you, is Marilyn Monroe. Yeah, I said it. Please take this quote to Peter and demand higher shelf'd wine! Cheers to you both, love your art!

I'm with you on the C Stand. I find that it is the most flexible and useful stand out there. I got mine to use after watching your video with Meika using only one overhead softbox light, because I can't afford, and haven't the space for the big boom. With a one meter softbox, it gives me a lot of flexibility, and many times, it's the only light I need.
For the benefit of people that don't know about them, they're actually called Century Stands, and have been around since the 1920's, when they were used in movie studios.
Thanks for a studio walkthrough. Always wanted to see one. One other benefit to your studio is the size- you have lots of space to move around, and not be cramped.
    ..Joe

Love photo studios. Even before the internet I always loved it when magazines would show someone's photo studio and how they worked. I always wanted a rolling camera stand and light boxes large enough to photograph cars. But, my studio was never that big. And, of course, everyone needs a Bec. 👧

Space forever and equipment that makes your workflow smooth, but I’m like you, even a small studio like mine needs a Bec. When I’m ginning around and have a brainstorm, I sure wish I had someone who could step in and help me develop my idea.

Hello Both, Although I only have a very small black, now I two love gamera stands so much smiplar that tripods. I use C stands for my lights. (Sorry I use Broncolor), I two have all my shooting benches on wells, in fact most thing on well and I to have a small Elinchrom boom for my lighting. The only new bit of kit I have is a new greard head, I have been using great heads for about 10 year and love them, But just got the Arca-Swiss Cube and its so simple bet amazing to. I loce the wardrobe and prop store. Greate littal video. I did a shoot xx Years age in the studio I was working (33000 sq ft it was a big studio) for a local brewery and after add lat sorts of stuff into a pint to get the head look right. We left the pint out for about a month the in walk a male modal and drung it....

    Impressive studio.
Mine is usually wherever I stay + one studio light, one portable battery powered light, 3 light stands, one backdrop stand, 2 hanging backdrops, 1 reversible portable fold out backdrop (that has never folded back to travel size again) assorted clips to hold it all together.
I'll have to wait for cloning for a Bec.

In my younger days, those Pillar Stands were used to mount the studio mono rail 4X5 or 8X10 cameras for product photography. I loved them but couldnt afford it so I had my heavy Gitzo tripod on a Dolly, but it was no where near as slick as a counterbalanced Pillar. I can understand why you use them.

Many thanks for this new video.
@B: In my country, 10 of 10 is usually considered as the higher level, and this is what you have been given.
@P: Amazing. You have a factory, you have the equipment, you have the raw materials, and you have the secret ingredient (a.k.a. B). More pies, please.
@P: The tripod is what concerns me the most, because the portable ones are so fragile. In general, whatever steals our attention (fragile tripod, scarce source of light,…) will negatively impact our photographs. You have invested a lot, there; this is why you are able to take amazing photographs.
@B: Do you see why I like mirrors?
@P: I have a yellow chainsaw and I planned to take a self-portrait BW-color-hybrid photograph with it; all in BW, excluding this tool; when I close my eyes I can see it.
@B: The very best in this video is at the end, the look on your face is like you have never had harmed a fly.

Regarding tripods, a Manfrotto 058 you just grab the neck, press the levers and the legs drop, to the desired height, or you can just lift the neck to the desired height. Release the leavers and the legs lock. its the fasted tripod to set up bar none. How ever it takes practice to use it if you never have. I hate the rubber feet, because they cant be locked, add the spin exposing the metal spike feet.
