Robert was a class act. He was smooth, talented, gorgeous, and he appeared to be a kind person. I actually cried when I discovered he had passed. Class act indeed!
I Love the longer hair, Damn he looks killer in that raw-silk suit too , just goofin' off with Jay and eating a cookie! I have never seen Robert eat a cookie or cookies for that matter, before, I kind of liked it. I wish I could have brought him the water or coffee, whatever he wanted to drink, ya know?
So classy, talented, such a divine gentleman. His voice gives me goose bumps . . .it's so silky, yet deliciously manly. I miss him . . . So sad he left this world too soon . . .
Great Britain: you are blessed with so many wonderful musicians. But Robert Palmer surely was the aristocrat among your great singer-songwriters. What a classy man he was!
Riptide was an amazing album and such diverse music. He sang the songs that night that didn't turn out to be hits, but that album went double platinum behind the hits "Addicted to Love", "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On", "Hyperactive", and "Discipline of Love."
I grew up listening to Robert Palmer and watching tons of his videos, but it always felt rare to catch him in an interview on TV. Thanks to all these youtube videos, I get to see how funny he was and what a good sense of humor he had. Just makes me miss him being around even more.
Love and miss Robert...to just sit down and sing "Get it Through Your Heart" like that live...amazing. Very few natural voices like that today. The last album he made called "Drive" is pretty incredible.
Riptide was great and then he blew me away with the second song Get It Through Your Heart. Seems like just an awesome guy, with obvious talent extraordinaire. RIP Robert Palmer.
Syrup, as far as I am concerned.....you are part of the human race. We all know Robert was one in a million. He was devoted to music. He wasn't, at all, about his wonderful looks...he used his looks to let us hear the bands and songs. He loved music. (my opinion!)
Fantastic video, just fantastic!!! Thank you so much for posting it. I will watch it frequently. I normally detest “crooner” music but Mr. Palmer turned me on to these two songs. There wasn’t a genre that he couldn’t master.
This is a fantastic fund. He was so talented and charming. He reminds me a lot of Bowie in some ways in interviews. His smile and mannerisms. Completely different artists of course but both into R&B and great interpreters of lyrics and David also had Northern roots from his parents. Wonder if they ever met each other?
I'm totally obsessed with Robert Palmers' b-sides right now. He was in the biz since the 60s. I had always only known his 80s hits, which are great, but it's as if I've discovered lost treasure! So good! ❤
I love that Robert Palmer is singing just a little bit off the beat with the orchestra. Reminded me a bit of Elvis singing with Sinatra back in 1960. Smooth, but a just a little subversive.
everyone is always so young doing their first live shows - I'm 33 now and still nobody even allows me to go on stage and do anything. I would have to pay a lot of money :(
I really like most of Palmer's singing. But, sweet Jeezuz. This vid just goes to show how looks and charisma -- in the minds of many commenters here -- can far outweigh only an average vocal talent. This was such a boring, limited song... vocal range of about 6 notes, dynamics and energy of a tortoise. Yeah, groovy band accompaniment, cool swagger performance, but VERY MEDIOCRE singing.
Robert was a class act. He was smooth, talented, gorgeous, and he appeared to be a kind person. I actually cried when I discovered he had passed. Class act indeed!
I was sad too. Quite young when he was at his most well known but I always enjoyed his work and loved his voice.
Me too.
Listen to the women scream in the audience…..
This guy knew how to present a song. Timing, pauses, eye pops, shoulder sway, all the little things and a voice like few others.
Miss him
beautiful man, beautiful personality.. always a gentleman, grateful I met him more than once in the early 80's (through work)
Great concise review.
He Is Special.
he was PERFECT here: the suit, the hair, his voice, his youth... everything
Yeah. Acting really cool one minute and kind of goofy and funny the next. Imagine how cool it would have been to sit down and chat with him.
I love Robert Palmer.
His British accent, his songs and his sly little grin!
So debonaire and suave.
Like the Cary Grant of music.
Ridiculously good looking.
Bore a striking resemblance to JFK.
Amen to that... handsome little devil....
@@mikehunt8501 ... I think he looks like Tom Hiddleston
and very very sexy !

Mr Palmer. A true gentleman & legend. 🎼🏆🇬🇧
So classy, talented, such a divine gentleman. His voice gives me goose bumps . . .it's so silky, yet deliciously manly. I miss him . . . So sad he left this world too soon . . .
How handsome can anyone be...classy in every way..
Wonderful gorgeous man. So talented, classy and a great artist. I miss him so much. RIP Robert
Talk about gorgeous man ! What a voice .
Absolute genius. Sad his gone.
Jeeeeesus, this guy was something else. What a unique talent and suave customer.
Lovely man.
Ohhhh....this is wonderful! Smooth as silk...cool AF.
Great Britain: you are blessed with so many wonderful musicians. But Robert Palmer surely was the aristocrat among your great singer-songwriters. What a classy man he was!
Loved everything about him. Miss the great music that would have come. So sad we don’t have him great talent.

This was aired the day after my 18th Birthday. Wow how time flies, nearly 56 now!!!, and still listening to the lovely Robert 😄🤩
What a hilarious interview. Two witty men, teasing one another and both natural storytellers. Great mix.
Class … pure CLASS ! The world became a poorer place when he passed ! Rest In Peace Sir !
Robert Palmer was a good singer. His voice was amazing! Addictive to love was a great song!
it's still a great song
*addicted ☺️
Incredible. He was amazing in so many ways.
The comments about his kids - SO cuuuute! Amazingly sensitive and talented artist. We MISS you Mr Palmer.
"You got it through your head I love you, now I'll get it through your heart."
What a talent, charmer...love his style, music...wish he was still here !
That suit ! Such a well dressed man

One of the finest sons of British music 🇮🇪
Look how young they all were .
So sad when he passed away. I cried

I was one week old when this aired. Now I’m the 86th “Like.”

Yorkshire Lad 🇬🇧 The Mandrakes from Scarborough, great band saw them loads of times in the late 60s
I so miss him. Love his music and his passion for his art....an amazing voice and a wonderful performer. I am so glad I got to see him more than once.
Fantastic video, just fantastic!!! Thank you so much for posting it. I will watch it frequently.

One of my favourite musical personalities.
That's it, I'm throwing out my Bublé CDs
Damn British men are handsome! Love RP!
He can sing, so soulful. Gone to soon!
que coisa maravilhosa ver Robert Palmer Cantar, é como se ele ainda estivesse conosco, e de certa forma ele está.🥲
Mr Cool! A great shame he's gone
Robert Palmer - the 80s was his decade.
I'm totally obsessed with Robert Palmers' b-sides right now. He was in the biz since the 60s. I had always only known his 80s hits, which are great, but it's as if I've discovered lost treasure! So good! ❤
Thank you for posting this. Love him, he is my all time favorite singer 🥰
sublime; sure miss him
Another great talent who left us too soon.
So cool top boy. Damn those fucking cigarettes
My favourite Robert songs will always be ,mercy mercy me ,and every kinda of people !!!!!😁🇬🇧
The merge of class and coolness.
oh..... My ,,,GOD ...... THIS WAS PERFECTION.
This guy was cooler than cool hand Luke... and a handsome little devil also....
Was setting up his later career singing with a big band. He was just a damn good artist
Classy!
I wish I had his looks and style
Gone far too soon. 😢😔 We have his smooth sweet 🎶💖🙏🏼😇
He had class. I love these two wonderful songs.
Perfect !
Brilliant!
Fabulous..
Rest in powerful peace Robert Palmer 🙏❣⚘⚘🎶
This is my favourite interview
Fantastic.
Peak Palmer...class ❤️👌
Love this guy......."Sneaking Sally through the ally"......

Love this should post more robert palmer interviews, the there is not many on youtube
Interesting alternate version.
Saw him live the word class was invented for him
'Eats a cookie'. Go, Robert
Little devilish smiles are awesome

Oi! So very missed.
Too many brain cells for LENO to digest.
💘
He sure knew how to Croon 🎼🎶🙏🏼
Great sense of humor - didn't take himself too serious -
Robert and Mindy . That would be the Mindy from Mork and Mindy . Miss u Robert
Glad I broke the curse on the likes. What a star he was
Definitely could have seen Robert rolling with the Rat Pack.
everyone is always so young doing their first live shows - I'm 33 now and still nobody even allows me to go on stage and do anything. I would have to pay a lot of money :(
tac 6:50 ..still working on that cookie ;) ..U can thank Jay Leno for that hahaha
he looks even more handsome and cool right next to Jay Leno
😍😍😍😍😍😍
I bought this Lp
born jan 49, 37 here.
Loved his music and videos. Too bad he smoked over two packs a day.
He still had his Yorkshire accent.
Am I missing something here? Jay Leno didn't start hosting the tonight show till early 90's. Is it 1996?
He was a regular guest host in the mid- to late '80s.
Never met a dog that took to me.🐕
He snubbed the other guests
Why do American chat show hosts think that they can be as entertaining as the guests⁉
He sounds a lot like Eddie Rabbitt...js
Only on the surface. Eddie didn't have the true depth or soul of this man. But, I can hear what you are saying.
Cooler than you music!
Effortless 😃
Peerless

I was only commenting HERE about his performance HERE.

Palmer was certainly dapper and debonair, but he always seemed like a poor man's Bryan Ferry and not half as interesting.
