Sliding Pantry Build | RV Renovation

- We are in the process of trying to get everything organized inside our RV. One pursuit is to use every available space as efficiently as possible. Our fridge had a 5 inch gap between it and the wall. We decided to try to use that space to store smaller kitchen items. So we got some lumber and started building a slide out pantry.
Here we go!

Don't underestimate yourselves....this was some very nice work.
Yeah, your Sag is from the verticle slides being mounted in the horizontal position rather than vertical. They do make slides for that purpose. Meant to be mounted on the top or bottom of the box rather than the sides. But, it looks really good, and I wouldn't worry about it until they start having issues.
I am currently researching pantry slides so I can slide out my current drawers together in a box and still slide out of the box. This way I can build a counter top on top if the box when it's out for more food preping counter in my RV. And still slide out thee drawers with the box out or in. I've been modding my big RV FOR 23 YEARS.
Guys, that pantry is awesome. Great use of space. You two are a great team.
Great job, I love it!
You could put a full length mirror on the back of the pantry!
I enjoy watching you guys, I’m renovating my, “new to me class C”. I’m learning so much from your mistakes and successes!!!👍🍾💃
Oooohhh. I love that idea!
And I'm glad our videos have been helpful. We are definitely not a how to channel. haha.
Oooooo 😮 I’m glad I read comments I never would have thought of that definitely hacking it!
Great video. Really learned a lot.
Only three trips to HD? Genus!
Awesome! I’m so glad I found you and your projects. I definitely plan on adapting many to my trailer! Thanks!
Well done. Darlington, South Carolina
I just showed my husband this and told him I need one next to my fridge immediately! I am going to put it on wheels 💜
Awesome. We would have used casters but our fridge is on a a foot and a half off the ground.
I love the drawer slides even better. Which should work fine being sideways. The wheels will obviously work but yours is just going to be way smoother of a pull. 😊
Why do you need to ask your husband? Just go build one yourself. Learn something new.
@@mjremy2605 I know to build one...maybe I just like to ask my husband do some things for me because he enjoys building things more than I do and he needs something to do. Apparently you seem to be extremely opinionated to the point where you can tell a complete stranger to do something. What if I had a disability that would prevent me from doing something like this. You should watch what you say to strangers.
I doubt it. Do you ask your husband to make a pie? Maybe he can spend time cooking or cleaning if he has nothing to do, while you build things. Stop being such a helpless female. Its pathetic. You have the same two hands, feet, eyes, 10 fingers, brain. Just do it.
Great job. FYI, it looks like your fridge is not plumb, which is what makes your pullout look out of square.
Yeah. The previous owners got tired of expensive rv fridges dying on them. So they put a residential fridge in. It’s been doing great though.
from someone who has a slide out pantry in our motorhome, make sure you put a lock on it as ours has a door and then slide out shelves and used to still slide open when the road was too bumpy.
Yes. It is a must. We put a pin lock on it and it worked great until we went down a bumpy stretch in California and the wall flexed. The pin popped out. So I had to find a lock with a longer pin. Now it’s solid going down the road.
Excellent job
That’s really nice! Great work 🙌
Loving ❤ it
Great job...hope you plan on painting it.
We did paint it. It looks really nice. We just haven’t gotten a chance to make an update video yet.
Need drawer slides (Blum) on bottom. But that will probably work too.
Looks great!! Another project for us. Lol
omg. you guys are so cute. I love your hair
You guys, the pantry looks great! You made me wish I had one in my kitchen. I thought about Stacy’s walk in while I was watching - I daydreamed a bit. Maybe I’ll have a good pantry someday. Love you both!
Awesome!
nice covid hair Su...lol
where do you buy such sliders? Especially the type for putting on bottom of a cabinet instead of sides like a drawer? Do you measure slider needs by measuring width of cabinet frame and then times that by 2 since it needs to then pull out all the way? I'm trying to build something similar to hold brooms and mops and have a shelf for holding cleaning bottles etc.
We bought oversized ones on Amazon. I couldn’t find any specifically made to be mounted horizontally like that. They are technically made to be mounted on the side of a drawer. So we bought 250lbs rated slides with the hope it would work. And so far, it slides great. I did also have a backup plan to modify the cabinet to accommodate mounting the slides in the other orientation, but it wasn’t needed.
I think the slides had measurements for fully closed and fully extended. We knew how much space we had and how big the cabinet was going to be. So we just found appropriate slides. I thing ours is 24” collapsed and extends out either 24” or 35”. I can’t remember now. I think I left a link to the slides in the video description.
