Keep cutting wood without a mask and you'll likely end up like my friend at work. He retired, bought some acres, built a big shop full of tools, and started pursuing his lifelong love of woodworking full-time. 5 years later he was dead from pulmonary fibrosis caused by breathing in fine particulate wood dust. Mask up and live!

a small suggestion: i would also cover the left side of the cabinet where the wheels are as well. like between the wheels and the fridge. flush with the edge of the toe-kick. that way your feet cannot get stuck between the toe-kick and the fridge by acident
such a beautiful projekt! i would love to one day have a house on my own and build this one as well :D

I agree just add a kick that goes in so its all covered as well. Also add support from tipping to far on that side. Can put felt on the bottom too to protect floor if it ever goes too low.

Definitely a great solution for an awkward sized space! For anyone looking to do something similar, Fulterer makes pantry slides that attach to the top and bottom of the drawer and are rated for higher loads than typical under-mount slides (up to 450lbs). I just installed two pullouts side-by-side in a large pantry and am very happy with how smooth they operate despite being loaded with cans and other heavy items.

I love the honesty and transparency, it’s a great way to teach when projects don’t go smoothly all the time and you have to find solutions. The fact that you don’t lose your mind every time something goes wrong is incredible, my husband would be losing his mind and end up breaking what he was building 😂
I think you should be able to at least curse, just bleep it, it’ll be so funny 😆

I used your idea for a pull out cabinet and created a secret liquor cabinet in my bar area. The tip about putting castors is what made this project a reality. I also included some LED strips on each shelf. When you pull the cabinet open all shelves light up from the bottom of the bottles, a very cool affect. Thank you for your inspiration and tips.

Was looking for a similar idea for a kitchen pantry in my kitchen
For me I want to install a similar idea into a area that already exists with plaster walls at the carcass
So have to build something into an existing space
The ball bearing wheels and the shelf sides on top of the cabinet you did gave me a whole new perspective
You see I always thought if slides-on the sides to support the weight-of the cabinet but your idea makes a lot of sense
That’s why I love watching you videos and others also
You always get to pick up a few new tricks in the process and one always has to have to keep an open mind it’s the only way to progress
    Thanks a lot Bob

What I like the most about this project is that there was no "Master Plan" or Set of Drawings. Seems to me that there was a concept, an idea, AND then it was "let's go build it". Making changes, revisions, improvements along the way. That is how many of us "everyday folk" attack a project. We learn a lot by watching Pro's like you go from concept to finished product and doing so the "Prepared Route", but it is also educational to watch you improvise as a road block hits you. I think this is pull out pantry is going to be a huge success in your kitchen and it's looking really good! Take care and have a good one! 🖐 :D

    very nice design and function
since you already have power in it, you can add LED strip inside that turns on as you pull it out, so that you can grab stuff in the darkness. just like the fridge light.
and don;t tell your Mrs abut the lights, and record her as she DISCOVERS THE LIGHT

We inherited a pull-out pantry with our kitchen, which is our primary food storage area. After living with it for 5 years, I can honestly say I hate it. Hard to get odd shaped food containers in and out. Anything hanging out beyond the edges of the shelf will interfere with closing the cabinet. I plan to replace it with a traditional pantry with open storage in the doors as well.
All that said, I do really like your idea to use pull-out storage for cleaning supplies. I think I’ll repurpose those cabinets in our hall closet for that use. Thanks for the inspiration Bob!

Yes! and if you were planning on storing heavy stuff like bowling balls you could add under mount slides upside down on the top. Get rid of those wheels. Just frame the open side like frame and panel w/o the panel to stiffen up that side. Even with the side mount slides you could do top and bottom on both sides.

I would suggest the vacuum goes in the front section (made slimmer of course), and all the storage goes at the back. You will access the vacuum more than you access the other stuff. BUT - it is awesome as it is!! It holds a lot of stuff, and with a normal cabinet, everything would fall out if you were searching for something in particular!!! GREAT JOB!!
