nice interview. btw, spindler did a study (with rodents, admittedly) testing various supplements and found that krill oil shortened the lifespan. the rest of the supplements did nothing. derek might want to know this given that he takes krill oil according to his website

Thanks for the feedback, believe in it for the phospholipid form of DHA and bioavailability for APOE variation I have in particular. Will test soon for my Omega 3 ratio though and re-assess any available research.

Regarding the fasting. I'm 2MAD, zero snacking, zero processed omnivore Mediterranean-ish. 16/8 daily, 24 hrs weekly, 3 days monthly. Currently 2 days into a 3 day fast. My epigenetic test results should be in any day. Hoping for a good result, will see.
Not sure if I'm losing much in the way of muscle, I'm lean and stay in a good range.

@@invertage Awesome! 3 day fast must be hard! 16/8 I know whilst considered IF I don’t really consider fasting and is similar to what I do naturally. Very little in the way of magic expected! The epigenetic results and longevity overall do seem to do well from Calorie Restriction and for now that’s where I see the benefits of fasting. As a way to restrict the quantity of calories and easier than counting calories. BUT we are all individuals with different baselines in terms of DNA, blood biomarkers, gut microbiome diversity. Perhaps some variation of these as a baseline can make fasting magical and then it may show statistically in the studies. So far it just doesn’t seem to be there, but the studies continue and we are all learning more and more all the time!
