Who titled this podcast? There is very little diet advise compared to other information. I was unable to finish the podcast to see if there were any gems in the end. He glorified his own experiences with mind altering drugs which are a gamble at best and not associated at all with the indicated topic.

I am so glad to see an up-and-coming, rising star of this particular genre giving props to Dr. Weil. Dr. Weil is responsible for educating my generation (brought up on pop-tarts for breakfast, smoking being permissible in restaurants, and watching the 6 o'clock news while eating KFC or grilled hot dogs for dinner) on all things mind-body-spirit. I attribute my health journey kicking off with 8 Weeks to Optimum Health and I can still recall the day I saw it on the table in a bookstore in the mall and purchased it. It changed my life.Dr. Weil is one of the greatest thought leaders of my generation.

@@marshawalker5273 I've wondered about that, too. However, he's always been the same body type, from what I can tell. Just like some people are 'skinny-fat' I think some can be 'healthy-fat' too. I think of Oprah when I think of this category. She seems to have adopted a healthy lifestyle but her genetic predisposition seems to allow her to carry more weight but she has indicated when she shares her health journey with us that all her HRV/cholesterol/BP/bone density markers are on point.

I shared the same feeling of inter-connectedness Dr. Andrew described, from doing half doses of mescaline, psilocybin, and peyote in my college years in the Pacific Northwest. We picked psilocybin mushrooms at dawn, which grew in ‘fairy rings’ in areas with rich soil, like cow pastures. We’d make tea and walk for hours in the forest, feeling awe and connection with all of nature. I’m a lightweight so instinctively took less than others, which worked well for me.
The experiences opened my mind and spurred creativity, set me on a lifelong path, and formed a core spirituality of reverence for nature and the Universal Energy. I became a professional artist, animal advocate, Master Gardener, and vegetarian/ vegan/ pescatarian for over 50 years. I could go on about my incredible experiences! I haven’t felt a need to use these substances anymore, as I learned what they had to teach me, which was transformative!

Thank you for having Dr. Weil on your podcast, he is simply the best. One day he will be revered and celebrated (in due time all will be revealed & understood) like so many that came before him. Ignaz Semmelweis was a physician and scientist who figured out that doctors could decrease the number of deaths, infections just by washing their hands. His simple idea could have saved countless lives, but he was largely ignored and laughed at. Dr. Weil is a genius, I wish all doctors were trained in naturopathic medicine. What a wonderful and healthy world it would be.

Great to hear among other things the effect of the Mind on the body I'm a Mind/Body Connection speaker and I keep myself healthy and happy with this. In another podcast you enquired about Trance Channeling and I would like to recommend Jane Roberts book called Seth Speaks and my other favourite is Debbie Shapiro Your Body Speaks Your Mind.
It's great to have Indian role models growing up in the 70 I had only access to Indian Gurus which saw me right I'm not complaining. It's great listening to your podcast 👌

An excellent podcast. It made a great connect with Dr. Weil I never expected and his spiritual dimension. I have some new products to consider instead of coffee. The clarity on drugs is especially helpful. I hope you have more webcasts together.💥❤

Thank you for the credible, thoughtful explanation of "psychedelics". Open minded discussion of possibilities and cautions. What would be healthy and what would be destructive. So good. Appreciate it!

When i was a young man, i used to ingest psychedelics including peyote and i actual was able to stop headaches and pain. I also experienced clarity. However my friends at the time didn’t believe me. Lol. Life. I was born in the year 1958 and i absolutely like listening to most of your pods.
    Thank you Mr. Shetty.

This is my first time listening to your Podcast Jay and I enjoyed your conversation with one of my favorite human beings. Thanks you and Dr. Weil. I love Andy's his statement "for me spirituality means being aware of and acknowledging the non-material aspect of existence." I can't wait for his new book and I believe psychedelics💚 can save the world.

I have to agree with some of the commenters on here. I've always enjoyed listening to Dr. Weil for many years now, but it is hard to take nutritional advice from someone who is clearly overweight. His mind, however, is obviously intact and he makes so much sense. You just have to overlook his physical appearance.

Interesting about the allergies being unlearned. I'm sure psychology can play a part in making the reaction worse. I have had allergic reactions without even thinking about them, or unaware I was allergic to the substance. Because of this I don't think allergies are purely psychological but I will try to relax through my next allergic reaction and see how much that helps.

I've learned not to focus on the few largely publicised superfoods and instead settle for as much variety as possible with only two rules: eat more of raw foods and less of cooked/processed and fast every now and then. Spending time alone from time to time is good. I've adopted gardening as a hobby/passion as this can get you grounded, exercised and exposed to fresh air/sunshine all at the same time as well as producing the fresh food.

You just answered my question Dr Weil. I have included broccoli and chicken just for now and i can see how the bloating is going down.i steam it just a short time where it is still crunchy. I was just thinking about this and you answered my question. Thank you.

He’s in his 80s and men s life span is 74.
Also , being thin isn’t correlated with longer life. I think because he’s earthy looking and built stocky, he appears less lean.

Thank you Dr Weil! You’re the first person I’ve heard speak to the relationship between MDMA and mescaline, other than myself. When I was a nurse, in the university library I happened upon the chemical structure of MDMA in a book which said the chemical structure was the same basically as mescaline. Thank you for that confirmation finally, it’s taken 20 years to have that confirmed 😁❤️😘

Dudes just a pro drug hippy with completely unfounded and down right dangerous beliefs on psychedelics. Yes they do have very profound negative effects and chronic marijuana use is proven to have a degenerative affect on the brain. I dabbled in them, my friend dabbled in them a bit more and was the only person in his family to develop schizophrenia

Wow. Thank you for this podcast episode Jay and Andrew. I had to keep pausing it and writing down quotes from this as I resonated so hard with some parts! Particularly about the distinction between spirituality and religion and the fact that science needs to accept that the non physical world can directly affect the physical. I have innately known this and consciously cultivated my inner non physical world for years now. It baffles me how people can NOT believe in something 'other' or non physical that has an influence on our world, much more than what is already known by science today.
Thank you thank you for the wisdom and the validation and the brilliance that is this channel x

Thank you for interviewing Dr. Weil. A friend turned me on to him in the early, 90s and enjoy his knowledge and as I am listening to him on the psychedelic topic my heart somewhat sadden when he said the only hope for man is taking a substance which has the potential to be harmful. Without sounding preachy, who likes that) the salvation through Jesus's blood can save mankind and doesn't wear off....psychedelics is a counterfeit.
I can, only say this through experience.
The interview was informative and fantastic. Your questions were on point.
    Thank you!
