I can only speak for myself (74) but I was able to get off of medication and eliminate the arthritic inflammation that kept me up at night through diet. For the last six or seven years I have slept very well and have not experienced the inflammation that tormented me before. In the morning I have lentils, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrots, yellow squash, colored peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes or grape tomatoes, diced ginger (seems to be the one of the important ingredients dampening my inflammation) and sometimes diced turmeric, nutritional yeast, ground flax, sunflower, and pumpkin seeds, walnuts, almonds, filberts and Brazil nuts. I add avocado when I have them and also sardines. I have to be careful with the sardines because I acquired gout as a side effect of hydrochlorothiazide which I no longer have to take because my blood pressure has also dropped to normal. I alternate with oats, yoghurt, blueberries, almond milk and the same diced ginger and fresh ground seeds and nuts as before. This diet seems to improve my gut biome as well giving me a happy feeling to start the day. If I don't have time to chop vegetables on weekday mornings, I will prepare them on a Sunday and place them in quart freezer bags in the refrigerator and grab one each morning, tossing the veggies lightly in a little olive oil until slightly softer. I stay away from sugar and salt as much as possible. I don't eat eggs or bacon. I don't drink alcohol, fruit juice or any sweetened or carbonated drinks. I drink 24 oz. of water first thing every morning when I get up, before breakfast. This is a common practice in Japan, where their lifespan is longer than ours. My kidneys went from stage 3 to stage 2 and are now normal. I always have breakfast before having any coffee. I saw a study that said that drinking coffee before eating can interfere with the insulin process. The other important element is exercise. The combination of the two is magical. Cardio (walking), core and weight resistance. Another recommendation I can make is to check for sleep apnea which robs you of your sleep unawares. You stop breathing while you are sleeping, CO2 builds up in your bloodstream, your brain wakes you up just enough to start breathing again but not to consciousness, so you never get into a deep sleep. You never wake up enough to realize what is happening. You sleep eight hours and wake up feeling that you haven't slept at all. You will need a sleep study or test to detect it. Sleep apnea causes high blood pressure and a number of other health problems. I have used a CPAP for 20 years and it changed my life. Hope some of this helps somebody.
I worked as the head nurse for a gastroenterologist. I asked him why he didn't inform his patients about lifestyle changes (most of our patients had disorders that were related to lifestyle). He said, "they wouldn't listen". I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. When I told him about changes he could make to improve his health, he replied, "if that were true, my doctor would have told me". Sigh
I've been following Dr Weil since my early 30s....I am 58 now. All my health markers are EXCELLENT. I am forever grateful to him for teaching the world these things 💖🌟💕
I had an abrupt and brutal onset of rheumatoid arthritis both knees and both hands and wrists. After several years I was free of it. No medication helped me. I was even on Methotrexate and Plaquenil, which almost destroyed my liver. After one year of unsuccessful treatments, I gave up medication entirely. My take was using Kangen water. For 2 months I drank Alkaline water starting from the lowest concentration (for about 2 weeks when I experienced various strange sensations, face skin rashes) to the highest, a quantity of 3-4 liters daily. After 2 mos, I had my first "victory": no swollen, red, feverish joints, I could walk, and I could use the keyboard to surf the net and keep in touch with my friends. Then, I started to drink again a normal daily intake of water using only Kangen water, both for drinking and cooking. The diet was the one used by diabetics - not entirely but to a large extent. No alcohol and sweets that I replaced with fruits. I would also try eating the meat and dairy mostly before 1-2 pm. Some studies were approaching the idea that RA is also a result of the leaking gut. I had some colonics done that helped very much at the time, and I still do it once in a while. I would also take probiotics. Additionally, I took several supplements, including Omega 3, Omega 6, shark oil, and some common vitamins. The vitamins should be adjusted according to individual health conditions. Have blood tests done, bone density, etc. Walking, gymnastics - a combination of aerobic and lightweight lifts, as I could not do more; no cold/hot compression as they had no effect on me. I did light yoga and meditation. Eventually, after several years, I was and still am free of it. My doctor still sends me to have my RA tests, and I am still OK after 12 years since I gave up medication.
So happy to hear your story .i am trying to find a cure for my daughter who is diagnosed with RA .few years ago .she is having injections. So far, I've lost 120lbs eating a Ketogenic diet. I don't eat a ton of meat. I eat a huge salads every night using only home made dressings with a whole avocado, about a cup of fresh broccoli, organic greens and a few ounces of meat protein, usually about 3 ounces, but never more than 6 oz. All of my blood markers are excellent. My A1C is 5.0 down from 6.5. My triglycerides dropped from over 500 to 85, my electrolytes are all high/normal. It works for me. I don't tell anybody else to do it. If they ask me how I lost 120lbs, I tell them what I did, but to do the research yourself.
I agree. He is WRONG about the keto diet and he seems to have agenda against meat consumption. I feel 100% better eating meat compared to carbohydrates.
@@Jana-pm3nj I think it's because so many people on the keto diet consume junk meat like bacon and sausage versus chicken, pork, or grassfed beef. Also, to my knowledge, keto doesn't allow fruit or allows very little fruit, which can be detrimental to your health, particularly age-related macular degeneration. Fruit also reduces risk of T2DM. The mass produced bacon and sausage is garbage, so what are the effects of consuming large quantities of that food in lieu of fiber, nutrient, and anti-oxidant rich fruit? For an example, I overheard a conversation with colleagues where one was talking about "diet where you can eat bacon every day!" She was talking about keto, and the others were very excited to hear this news. Of course, they were all overweight, some obese, and none had a good diet. Keto appeals very highly to that population for that reason. And they're the ones who need the benefits of fruit more than anyone.
I'm 63. My last doctor visit, other than ER trips for stitches and x-rays, was my checkup for the Cub Scouts. I've always stayed active and had a job, high steel rigging, that is physically demanding. I rarely drink alcohol, have never smoked cigarettes or done any narcotics. I feel as good today as I did in my 30s. I'm 6'2" 185lbs and I eat as much of anything I want. I quit drinking all soft drinks in 2016. Doctors don't cure anything. They merely mitigate your symptoms while destroying your body and your wallet with their poisons.
Great! Its a magic, i am doing the same and even fully raw. Easy to day when you have good genetics. I was a willowy 6' tall woman VERY athletic. But I inherited boney overgrowth/arthritis and am now (at 63) 5'6. My pain is so intense if I could not have access to antiinflammatories and pain meds I would have closed up shop long ago.
I’ve been in pain since 24 years old I’m now 65 and feeling terrible with or withoutmeds ! Doesn’t seem fair I have just eaten the things I can afford! It would be nice for a arthritis menus made up for those of us who have to go to pantry’s to eat!! On other hand my brother started looking great after starting Keto diet but like the doctor said less fiber when colon cancer runs in our family isn’t very smart way to go??? YUP I SAID GO!🎉. Just like you look good and feel amazing when you fast too! But even then there’s a time after the cleanses you get back in the car, RIGHT?
Good for you! Am interested why you are watching a lesson that you learned 53😅 years ago? Was born during re-occurring epidemics in a birth clinic (8-24 hour stay), similar to the out back clinics without pediatric or complication help. Born with no cry, unwilling to feed. Finally a neighbor ,who had lost 2 babies in their first 6 months examined and found a tiny hole in the top of my mouth. So I starved but survived for 24 months until my family moved to a place where the hole could be 100% repaired. With that start and spending much of my youth far from top medical care, explains why I am so happy to spend 2 hours learning from Dr.Andrew Weil again. Thank you so much. The transcript is so clear it needs to be published or made into a e-book.

When forests are destroyed to produce industrial meat, billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide are released into the atmosphere, accelerating global warming. The fallen trees are often left to rot on the forest floor or are burned, creating further emissions. Healthy trees are essential for absorbing carbon from the atmosphere. The one and most important thing I have learned about diet is that we don't know what we think we know. I am 80 and have tried every diet that exists and have done well on all of them. I have never been fat and have exercised almost daily since I was old enough to move. I have eaten six meals a day and one meal a day. No matter how many times a day or what you eat, the most profound thing I have learned is to fast at least 16 to 20 hours a day. IMO, your body will do the rest.
I agree with you. I'm 75 and lost 45lb. doing it my way and no diet. After listening to both sides in the conversation I know it's not a diet we need. We need the fasting and that's vital to our weight and health. My dream is to see science and medical system join together and make this world a healthy place. This was a great podcast! Thank you Dr. Andrew Weil and Dr. Chatterjee!
There is healing releases in the body when we forgive. Rage, anger releases high blood pressure and many suddenly died at the tip of their anger. #1 killer is called stress! Unforgiveness develops all sorts of illnesses, cancer, heart ailments and so on. There is joy and peace within when a person forgives. 💕 Thank you that you mentioned here about practicing forgiveness. Hallelujah! To you Doc R. Chatterjee.
On the flipside... Forgiveness and chronic forgiving the unforgiveable also creates life long misery and stress. It makes you literally sick when you forgive, forgive, forgive...
Thank you for sharing this, trying to practice forgiveness, my heart tells me it is true. I also have staring fasting 1 day a week, and I feel stronger after every time, builds my faith also
@@heide-raquelfuss5580 EXACTLY THIS!!! it actually sends a repeated DANGER signal when we try to forgive people while the parts of us that were harmed and traumatized still feel in danger every day!!!
we do not know how to TRULY forgive.. it is not what most people think. When we "rise above the battleground"* with whatever egoless presence is our preference, true forgiveness begins to reveal. *as in "the eagle sees more than the mouse" Wow.. thank you for this reminder! I needed that!
Working in Mental Health for over 20 years.. the Mental Aspect is almost completely ignored when there is an internal issue.. Thoughts and energies come from within and your thoughts can harm your body.. thoughts make you do things.. Thought comes from demons, yourself or the holy spirit, you have to separate those Thought and analyze each Thought to see if align with the words of God, if doesn't it's the devil giving you ideas to get you depressed, anxious or whatever he can do to destroy you, it's all spiritual nothing is physical that's why you don't see emotions you just feel it because again it's spiritual not physical, it only reflects on your physical
On Keto I was able to lose 25 pounds, lower high triglycerides, lower LDL, reverse fatty liver and being pre diabetic in 3 months. My doctor who didn't want me to do keto said to continue doing whatever I was doing.
I am insulin resistant and I also did keto and lost weight in my stomach area first! It is usually the last place I would lose because I was eating a lot of carbs. Now I am addicted to carbs they give me a euphoric feeling but I never would get full from foods like rice. I did get full from vegetables, protein and healthy fats therefore allowing fasting to become natural. I am the least concerned about the “social” aspect and more focused on freaking living for the long haul. That’s part of the problem is that we as people eat too much and the wrong foods. My stomach becomes bloated when I eat carbs. Some healthy carb in moderation is reasonable but you can get fiber from other sources besides carbs.
@@connieholmes4853Its what we were designed by nature to eat . We were not designed to eat cereal whole grain bullshit. Our ancestors probably ate lots of Unpolluted shell fish and low carb veg. My main food is sardines.
@@connieholmes4853 You can get all the fiber you'll ever need nibbling on fruit, you don't have to eat lots. Plus it's one of Nature's very best "probiotics". If you want to go "all out" make smoothies with fruit and blend in Chia seeds or similar ingredients and you can blend in protein powder, numerous supps/herbs (I use fresh Turneric root and chlorella powder) and pack more nutrition into fewer calories than any packaged or even most "natural" foods will have. Many MDs have their patients afraid of fruit! But they're OK with Hot Cheetos and other junk?! The government subsidizes this by letting people spend EBT on it.
I like this guy. I worked with a physician who was trained by him. Thankfully, I grabbed ahold of the anti inflammatory diet and how sugar ages you in my 20’s. Now just turning 40, I’ve been called an anomaly by many. I attribute it to learning the principles of anti-aging in my 20’s and continue to live a fairly healthy life. I love this channel and have adopted more into my lifestyle every day. Thanks for the videos! I’m great full for all of the information shared. I use a lot of it.
I tried keto to bring down my glucose. Quickly I saw on my food diary ( phone app) that I was not getting enough fiber and too much saturated fat. I began adding more vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains to my diet. I’m eating so much more healthy now. I feel great, have lost weight, and exercise regularly. Glad to see we are in agreement on what is a healthy diet.
Sadly medicine has become more about profitit and less about the long-term wellness. Can't make profit from the healthy. Dr. Weil has been sharing his wonderful knowledge for years. He is what I consider to be true healer.
This isn't new. I recall way back decades ago young interns discussing their plans to be moving to the States to make millions and buy their own island.
Dr. Weil, you were a very wise man back in the 80s when you came to teach us at the Southwestern School for Behavioral Health Studies and when I advocated for you to come to St. Luke's Behavioral Health Center for a seminar to "debate" a traditional psychiatrist on alternative ways to treat common mental health conditions which you did to huge interest and fantastic reviews by attendees, and you clearly have continued growing in the depth and breadth of that wisdom. Thank you for continuing to share that wisdom with us.
8:23 I think the best part of going on ANY diet is the fact people are cutting OUT the unhealthy junk they were eating and that makes the most difference no matter what type of diet hole you run down.
I have always had my most absolute admiration for Dr. Well for his intelligence, wisdom, studies and as a Doctor. Thank you! for inviting Him to your program. Tank you again!
I went to a dental hygienist appointment recently. As she worked on my mouth, she asked, "Are you a vegetarian?". I gave her a thumbs up. A short while later, she asked, "Are you vegan?" I answered that I'd explain later. So when the dental work was completed, she wanted to know what I ate because of the lack of inflammation in my gums. I had previously thought of inflammation as being at a cellular level but she was telling me that the lack of gum inflammation was visually obvious to her. So I told her about reading Dr. Greger's book, 'How Not to Die' in 2015 and changing to a whole-food plant-based (WFPB) diet. I love eating fibre and nutrient-rich foods and don't miss the animal and processed foods I've ditched. I like using water-based (no oil) cooking methods (steaming, broiling, baking). Eight years later, I'm 67 years old and slim, fit and strong. My hip osteoarthritis pain has (almost) gone. My bloating has gone (I'm gluten-free also). I am never constipated. There are no downsides. It's true - inflammation is a key indicator of your state of health. Ask your hygienist about the state of your gums and if they're inflamed, learn about healthy eating from Nutritionfacts and Forks Over Knives.
See this just goes to show we're all different and you have to find what works for you. My daughter ruined her health with veganism. She was one for over 30 years. I improved my health and got the same results you did (I'm 65) with the carnivore diet. My inflammation never showed in my gums. I could be totally inflamed, which usually shows in my colon by having crohn's flareups, and get my teeth cleaned and be told they looked fantastic. I think that is due to my regular use of a water pik. The most important thing for your health is what you believe. When you think you are doing something good for yourself, whether that is eating all veggies or all meat and aren't stressed AND move more than you sit, your body will respond in a positive way.
My wife and I are in our seventies. We have been whole food plant based for 15 years. Many health benefits, our only regret is that we didn’t start sooner!
Ive tried to be vegetarian but I just feel better with animal protein. Grass fed beef & cheese mostly. Local pastured eggs & lots of cruciferous vegetables with Indian & Asian spices. Zero processed food.
Growing up, we ate three meals a day and snacked in between. I grew into an eating disorder and have carried several more pounds than necessary - not hugely overweight but still overweight. And always dieting, to no avail. Dieting felt depriving , so I always went back to overeating. In recent months I began keto with intermittent fasting and immediately lost almost twenty pounds. I changed up my choices in food: only fish and dairy for animal fat, lots of veggies, nuts, nut butters, fermented foods and basically just one regular meal per day. If I find myself craving carbs I drink water to make sure I’m not hydrated, and if what I think of as “mouth” hunger persistsI have a few small crackers with peanut butter on them with coffee or tea and my cravings go away. This is rare, however. Keto with fasting (for me, “postponing” meals) takes away hunger almost completely. But you must not starve or deprive yourself. Meditation daily started it all, I must admit. When I stopped having the anxiety I’d had since childhood, everything, including a sense of financial security and abundance came in. So in several ways, I am always “full” now.
I first found Dr Weil in prevention magazine back in the 90s. He made sense and isn't extreme in his findings or recommendations. Thanks for the video.
I have a hiatal hernia which was giving me the usual symptoms, the GP put me on pantoprazole which helped initially, but when I asked the Dr if stopping the stomach from producing acid defeats the purpose of having a stomach, he just shrugged and pretty much told me to choose which I preferred to live with. There was no discussion about diet or stress, just the standard go-to prescription from the Dr.
I learned about Dr Weil when I worked at Marshall Fields( Macy’s) at his products were available at the Origins counter. I was already on the road to healthy eating. When my Mom got sick with cancer and had chemo his products where the only ones she was not reacting to. RIP. After my Moms death I decided to change my diet and hopefully influence my children. It took me 7 years to become vegan. I’ll eat goat or sheep cheese and yogurt. I also cut gluten, sugar( well I have sometimes a good piece of home baked apple pie). When I went to Greece after my Dad died ( kidney failure, heart failure, overweight, diabetes) I was eating everything but there is no use of butter unless you ask. Olive oil. I was fine no inflammation. I-have lupus.A lot of times I would spend 2-3 months in bed , when my daughter got sick with Covid in December of 2019 and then I got sick in January it took me till March to recover!!! I decided I am not going to live like that! Cleaned my kitchen . No soda , no chips, no white rice, flour, noodles you name it. Yoga, breathing ( Kundalini) long walks with dogs, grounding. Results amazing! I had 2 pituitary tumors 5mm and 4 mm and they were causing so many issues. Blurry vision, dizziness, gait problems, I also believe high heart rate because of anxiety. Dizziness was vertigo everyday with nausea. And 2 kids that had to drive to school and pick up in sub zero temps. Radiation meds didn’t help, my hair were falling out, skin was so dry, I developed neuropathy and lost goes on. And being vegan changed my life and “gluten” free( there is a good gluten . One tumor shrieked to 1 mm. My dizziness significantly diminished and my balance is restored. I got of Plaquanil before Covid started because it was lowering my immune system and causing cancer cell growth. My doctor was mad!!! It saved my life. I had time to strengthen my body a little before I got hit with Covid, but I am alive. Essential oil, chicken soup with turmeric saved my daughter she had fever of 105F and no one new what’s wrong with her. She was coughing so bad I thought she is going to suffocate. She also changed her diet after Covid. Seeing my both parents suffering so much my biggest fear was not to die their death. I always thought my parents will get old and die in their dream…. Reality is we are what we eat. I’m so glad I came across Dr. Weil. I advocate healthy eating in my family and friends but all I hear are laughs. I believe that you can make change within 3 weeks of drastic diet. I’m slim I was exercising and eating peanut butter and margarine. Not to mention during childhood lard! I had atherosclerosis in a main vein 80-90%. I went water and greens, no oils, nuts, avocados, and balsamic oil. I only could do it for 3 weeks and I went to 50-60%. Yes!!!! Doctor said it was a glitch. Sure! I know what I did and I believe it! I am working on my stress and childhood trauma because that contributes to cancer in my body. Thank you for all great tips. Thank you 🙏🏽. 💕Peace Kindness Compassion
Really. You only just realized that those in your profession are arrogant, self important, closed minded oafs. That last one is my word. I’ve know about Dr. Weil for many, many years. It was his anecdote about echinacea for ear infections in children that saved my son from surgery after repeated ear infections. After using echinacea at the first sign of a cold for all of my children, not one ear infection occurred. Thank you Dr. Weil.
Dr. Weil, I bought Spontaneous Healing in 1996 and I have to thank you for how much it impacted my life. You single-handedly changed the way I thought about food, responsible consideration of both eastern and western medicine and my body's innate ability to heal. I was a 25 year-old artist at the time without health insurance. Staying healthy was of the utmost importance because I simply couldn't afford to go to the doctor. At 52, I look and feel like a 30 year old. I have maintained good health and been able to fight fleeting illness with what some have described as miraculous speed. I am a touring performer and never even caught Covid. It's not a miracle. It's a blessing that you shared with me and so many others who have benefitted from your wisdom and generosity. I still hear your voice saying that the human body is built for walking. That walking is as good, if not the best thing one can do for exercise. You are the OG! I am forever grateful. And you look exactly the same as you did 20 years ago btw....that alone says something! Thank you. Bless you. Sincerely, Cassidy

Good afternoon happened to come upon your video and I totally enjoyed it and I agree. Many years back when I was in my early 20 I made two discoveries and mind you I’m not a doctor or any way near in any medical field. But I have always had and interest with Chinese medicine and the more Ayurvedic methods. At the age of 17 still in high school I started to change my way of life style and a more clean eating. Because I believe we are what we eat and health and well being comes from what you feed your body and mind. So that being said in my early twenties I started to develop a severe case of acne and not only did it look painful it was very painful even to sleep.very sensitive. I started going to the dermatologist and they would prescribe the usual antibiotics with many restrictions and retin A bit for whatever reason I felt that it had more to that so I started studying my body and how it reacted to certain things that I ate. And I discovered that dairy products and white carbs and sweets and processed foods had a negative affect on me. I changed my eating habits stopped in taking those foods and my skin cleared. I bought it to the doctors attention and I was told that it had nothing to do with that that it was only a myth that I could stick my head in oil and eat whatever foods and it would not affect me. But I did not find that to be true and stuck to my discovery and to this day I’m 52 I have not gotten the breakouts or skin infections that I had. Another discovery I made was the green tea, I started drinking green tea when I was introduced to it by some Korean friends. And I felt it to be magical didn’t get colds or flus like I did before. Few years after my discovery my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and was just being treated by hormones and had no Improvement his psa was always high and his cancer was not getting better. In my house it was a custom drinking espresso at least twice or three times a day. Well I figured out of my own to have my father change his eating habits to stop eating beef and less coffee and to incorporate green tea, and this was not any special green tea just a simple green tea bag from the market. My dad followed my guide and when we returned to the doctor a very well known cancer hospital here in New York City to have a blood work to check his PSA levels the doctors where amazed that my fathers PSA levels had dropped drastically and they questioned what my father was doing or taking different. So I told them and they all looked at each other and said oh green tea, they excused themselves stepped out of the room to talk amongst themselves and after a while came back and informed us what was going on, that my fathers PSA levels had gone down to a normal level which was very good BUT they said he will have to stop because we are going to start treatment and green tea will interfere with it. My father died few months after starting the cancer treatment. I wish I hadn’t listened and would had in courage’s my dad to continue Drinking green tea. My dad was only 62. Since then doctors have discovered that certain foods do affect the body and that green tea is actually very helpful for cancer patients and to help prevent cancer. Sadly enough I feel, and not speaking for all but some doctors don’t really want to get the root of the problem but rather just cover the situation. Things are commercialized unfortunately and I feel as someone who healed herself and discovered two things that were not know by doctors until recent that we have to listen to our bodies and learn our bodies because many times we might just have the answer to our health conditions. Sorry for the long chat. Thank you, God bless!
That is awful that they were surprised the green tea helped and then told him to stop drinking it. Doctors are disgusting sometimes. I’m sorry for your loss.
@@Mike-.747 I think you need to drink like 8 cups a day, just replace water intake with it. Also, in some East Asian countries, the parents make their children a huge thermos of green tea to take to school with them in the morning and they drink it throughout the day. Also a good idea if you’re on the go. Unfortunately if I drink too much it takes away my appetite and I also notice it affects my hormones.
Love Dr. Wells, I’ve been following him for many years Lupus has me I don’t have Lupus for 35 years! Healthy body peaceful mind. Thank you !! Great episode

I'm a healer, I focus a lot on subpersonality work, and even though that seems purely psychological, it is definitely physical as well. All chronic illnesses can be healed with holistic approaches and diet and medicine can support very well. As a start, I feel like we need to have systematic kinesiology (a different modality to what I practice as a practitioner) as a basis. Going to a kinesiologist instead of a GP, or have GPs train in kinesiology.
I was thirty-three when I found Dr. Wilder. I began to read books about Mediterranean cuisine. I also was working out five days a week with Denise Austin and I felt and looked great! Stress became a major factor in my life around 35-40 years old. I began to eat a lot of foods packed with sugar, which is my weakness! As a result my health took a downward turn. In 2015 I was finally diagnosed with Lupus & RA. By this time stress levels are dangerously high. I really wanted to respond about stress and how much havoc it wreaks on our overall health! My body was constantly in a fight mode until my heart, mental and emotional health began to decline. I remembered Dr. Wilder teaching on Mediterranean food. I am now eating more fiber, mostly vegetables and wild caught Salmon. Along with red snapper and cod fish. I also have two excellent doctors. My primary doctor suggests that I eat more fiber, fruits and lean meats without frying. If I must with olive oil. I feel awesome! My pain level is zero! I am beginning to exercise more regularly. Though my stress is still too high, I am working on it. I swear by Dr. Wilder. Love this information video!
Went off med, one day cause daughter stayed with me, for the week and showed love...Was the greatest love I needed her so much and she was right by me ❤️ Can do anything with her there. My sister's jealousy, turned her from me, and I got very sick. That's what love can do ! ignoring your family, makes you very ill. Love them genuinely without preconceived bias, and watch the changes, they become, soooo very fast. ❤❤❤❤get good knowledge together, be for each other, as all fall, all fail, so we do it at different times, just confess this, and just accept that's what is in this life. Just be good to each other, it happens, that's part of life. Failing is part of life. Stay close, don't over do it, at a failing time, or people go waaaay off, and get into bad stuff, because, none simply said, it's part of it, and, Just be you. You will enjoy a happy way to flow peacefully soon. That's how we do naturally. Then most will ..❤❤❤
I absolutely love your comment ❤️ I find it amazing how the jealousy of a sister can bring death into family relationships. I have a step sister who's 8 days older than me and has been plauged with jealousy since we were 12. I'm 60 years old and I've finally stopped trying to make her love me. My daughter and I are getting closer and yes, our relationship is so very healing to me
Andrew Weil has been saying these things for thirty years, and has been rubbished by the medical establishment. Now everyone's talking about the microbiome, and there are books by respected physicians telling us to eat 30 different fruit, veg, seeds per day, emphasise stress control with breathwork, reduce inflammation. This guy is over 80 years old and is his own advert! It's taken thirty years for the medcal establishment to begin to catch up with him.
I am very puzzled, now a lot of people talk about the benefits of keto or the carnivore diet which for me is very counter-intuitive. I don't even like meat.
Happy to see you two talking. Great respect & appreciation to both of you. Yes, yes, yes. And especially your point & agreement on the value of pt. education. Post devastating/somewhat restorative radiation therapy, I asked my doc to guide me on gut & bone restoration. "Out of my area," he said. As you say, "We have a disease management system." I’ve studied your work for 45 years, Dr. Weil. I've learned & applied so much.
It’s so true to give yourself time with exercise and just to “keep working”at it. Years ago I had a spiral leg fracture and the surgeon Who repaired it told me I would probably never be able to do any kind of real physical activity. I kept at it and working with my physical therapist. And overtime I started jogging and then took up running. I never ever would’ve thought I could’ve have become a runner (even before the fracture) but with patience, perseverance and time and I was easily running 5K or more and the endorphins…they were amazing!! When I was out there I felt a like Forrest Gump when he was running, and running ..I thought I could’ve ran the world❤.
Any health professionals please notice the conversation at 22:00 mins, in which they discuss the locus of control being moved from external and uncontrollable sources to internal and within one's own power. This is so important for so many patients who ask for help only to be funnelled into a dogmatic and 'prescribed' treatment regime.
I went on a diet for the first time as a teenager counting calories. It was hard but worked - for a while. But as time went on I found I had to keep repeating the diet. They all ended the same way. You have to think about food all day, planning meals counting every last thing. But all diets ended the same way - feeling tired and hungry. With each year I'd have to accept a new higher normal weight. I obeyed the advice low fat, more fibre, eat fruit and veg. By the time I was 62 I ended up prediabetic; with a heart condition, fatty liver, and 18st 5lbs, on Statins, PPI, CCI, aspirin. THEN I discovered Jason Fung and his guide to fasting, and also adopted HFLC diet. After 10 months my weight was down to 14st 12lbs. My A1C down, HDL up, Triglycerides down. Stopped the statins, PPI and CCI pills, no more heart pain, breathing better, no more waking in the middle of the night with wind, no more fatty liver. A calorie is not a calorie. It matters what kinds of food you eat far more than the energy value. I enjoy fat foods. WHo would have thought that the old book my Mum had in 1960 "Eat fat, Grow Slim" was better advice that any of the pseudo-scientific epidemiology upon which the "guidlines" are based. If you want to read more on this; Robert Lustig (sugar), Gary Taubes (keto), Nina Teicholz(unpacking the guidlines), Richard Johnson (on the role of fructose).
I had an endocrinologist put me on the Mediterranean diet/ Lifestyle back in 2018 because of a goiter my thyroid was not hyperactive or hypoactive but he suggested the Mediterranean diet to shrink the goiter I didn't stick to it and now I am hearing Dr William Li as well as Dr Andrew Weil suggest the Mediterranean diet. Im definitely switching today. As I have reduced my sugar cravings with berberine.
I hope you are doing well... Iodine insufficiency is prevalent in most peoples' diets. Healthy fats will help to improve thyroid function greatly - also don't overeat cruciferous vegetables, as they can inhibit thyroid function, something I only recently found out about. So now I only eat them once or twice a week...
Dr Weil was the first in my world to validate Naturopathic medicine along with Allopathic medicine. The words “Integrative Medicine” gave me language to explain to my chemo doctor why I had eliminated sugar, why I was taking supplements based on biofeedback.
I appreciate the connection between inflammation, cytokines, and depression over serotonin and current pharmaceutical remedies with horrible side effects. That sounds revolutionary.
You have to be clear about the differences and similarities between a keto diet, a ketogenic diet, a carnivore diet, a paleo diet, a low carb diet, and the effects of intermittent fasting. Nobody has to be in ketosis all the time unless they have an illness or metabolic situation requiring it. You can eat nothing but meat, or you can be vegan or anything in between. Some eat no vegetables or fruits; some eat nothing but vegetables and fruit. Everyone has to experiment and figure out their own needs. That's a process that never ends since dietary needs change.
Not only do 'dietary needs change', but they can be completely individualized depending on individual genetics - which is why some thrive on vegan, others on strictly carnivore, some on keto, some on Mediterranean diets. This is also, IMO is why we have the current culture diet wars, and why so many are if the mistaken belief that the one way of eating they thrive on means, to them, that their way is best, for all. But no, that is NOT so - genetics plays a huge part on one's optimal diet. The ONE constant that seems to hold true for all is the benefit if shortening our daily 'feeding window' - eating all meals as early as possible during the day, and lengthy overnight fasts - resulting in very sound health benefits found in Dr. Satchin Panda's recent studies on time-restricted eating and fasting.
@@barbarafairbanks4578 I agree that if I changed from carnivore to vegan, which could happen, the one thing that would stay the same is intermittent fasting.
@@grandpa1011 There are people who have eaten a keto diet for over 30 years. I'm sure there have been many people who ate their grains and legumes and died at a relatively early age
So honest, so real, so empathic and illuminating discussion that has both informed my thinking and confirmed thoughts I had about my own health concerns. If there were more Drs. like you there will be much less illness in the world. With heartfelt gratitude to both of you.
I was so enlightened by all that was shared. True we face so many issues, but we must address our health first. Real opinions based on experience, research and analysis causes us to appreciate 🤩 your guidance. Thank you. both.
I have followed Dr. Weill’s advice since the 80’s and taught it to my clients when I was a psychologist and wellness coach. But my doctors often are not in line with these concepts. They go so quickly to prescribe meds when I want to work on lifestyle changes. Integrative medicine is not well understood by most if my doctors. Sometimes I have to challenge, question, and teach them. I find it very stressful. I wish Dr. Weill was my doctor. He is a pioneer in his field and I have always known that. Very grateful for his work and publications.
A very moving discussion. One of the things that struck me most was that we don’t have a good relationship with ourselves. We’re always looking outside ourselves for the answer. I guess the answers are inside and we just have to stop, think, look, feel, improve our relationship with ourselves. Thank you.
The enjoyment of food is important but not all people have the luxury of being able to eat with friends or family daily so i love how she said even if eating by yourself you can stop and enjoy your food
11:55 -- I have an old army injury that has caused pain in my wrist for ~30 yrs ... I cut out most sugars, started drinking Olive oil every day. The swelling in my wrist went down and 90% of the pain went away also. I'm sold on staying away from processed food and sugars as much as possible.

Wonderful message about gut health as it relates to our immune system and food intake. Two great doctors talking with each other was excellent! Looking forward to another session !
Fabulous interview…thank you so much. I’m 72,and have *always* felt with few to no exceptions, that prescription drugs could (and should) be avoided. As a whistleblower under an inordinate amount of stress I’m a BIG fan of Dr. Weil’s breathing technique and of attention, in general. The very best to both of you…❤️🌷🙏🙌🦋
You are both very wise. Breath control in Yoga is a fantastic reliever of stress. Also we are always told to take a deep breath before taking exams, for example, to relax etc.
Yes and even better is nasal breathing as yoga breathing... There are excellent interviews with James Nestor. His book Breath goes into this to enhance yoga practice. Life changing.
I agree with your guest. Even as a Vegan 🌱 I also recommend a Mediterranean way of eating because it does not threaten their meat and cheese and it helps them to start to understand food
I have started eating more greens and limited carbs. I feel much better! Mostly eating consciously and not overeating at meals, not many snacks in between meals😊
Agreed, but the powers that be give alternative foods and holistic healthcare a bad press as it against what they stand for, after developing RA , i read the book wheat belly and cereal killer, very informative, i now only eat foods not GMOs and what a health difference.
Dr. Rangan: you are SO honest + intelligent that it is SO refreshing to this day + age of medical-or- personal health care for one self. You ask the most important and incredible questions of dialogue that is SO VERY helpful and appreciated. THANK YOU so much for what you are doing with these videos! It is profound! God's blessings are for you 🙏!!! I am so thankful for coming across your open communication. I can't believe that I have not heard you before. From Milwaukee, WI. 2-28-22. 💯✌️🥰🙏
at 10:30min- "in many cases health benefits that people experience when they change the way they eat are not directly due to the dietary change but rather to the commitment of mental energy to do something to improve their health, there is no way to do that experiment but i think, its not easy for people to change how they eat and so, to do so represents a great commitment in mental energy and that often initiates a healing response blah blah blah blah," that excerpt right there tell you EVERYTHING you need to know-this guy is a full of it....thank you & good night!
Healthy Keto has help heal my family and I. I also I am shocked at how many farms are sprayed with tons of chemicals that make people sick. We should have more organic farms 😊
How many patients helped today? I read a book many years ago that said doctors are just educated guessers, that it was up to me to build on what Dr said and do what I could to help myself. That told me it's sorta up to me if I really want get better! This is an excellent interview.
Great discussion. Only would add that during the discussion regarding motivation I think the financial component was missing. As long as US docs get paid more for doing more we will enjoy chronic disease.
I remember Dr. Weil from when I was a kid, he was considered sort of ""new wave" out in rural Montana where they had barely heard of yoga! I have always thought everything he says and does in healthcare has made sense, though and I have to say, I am so very inspired and impressed after listening to this!❤❤❤❤ Thank you both very much!
Thank you, Dr.Chatterjee for hosting I have loved Dr.Weil since his first book- Spontaneous Healing - his breathing technique is a life changer. - his work is a masterpiece for health living !❤️
This is a fantastic interview, it’s so profound and precious talk from both of these two doctors. I wish all the western conventional doctors can incorporate and learn more from the Eastern medicine in their practice. It seems to me, in conventional medicine the patients just a number of game to the doctors, most of physicians are rush in and rush out without really taking the interest and time to fully connect with their patients. Most of doctors are need to listen to this pop cast and learn more from these two doctors. My most sincere thanks 🙏 from these two doctors for sharing such wonderful conversations !
What a great GUEST ANDREW WEIL and I hope everyone learned from this interview I wish he could have more air time thank you I agree with every word he said an inspiration to many PEOPLE I BET!!!
45 years old, have been on Paxil (for post partum depression) for 20+ years. I am definitely in the group of targetive dysphoria patients described. I have tried more times than I can recall to stop taking the meds and I simply cannot handle the depression/anxiety/panic/irritability that I experience. No matter how slowly I decrease the dose It Cannot Be Done!
It’s difficult as you are possibly, or likely experiencing withdrawals when trying to get off of Paxil, which may exacerbate feelings of depression or anxiety worse than when you had them before taking the drug. But, it is important not to get off the drug if it causes you to have very bad side effects when coming off of it. I came off of a long lasting opiate maintenance drug and I came off slowly over years. During this process I got into fitness and tried to be healthier to make the slow process of getting off easier. Don’t rush it and it’s better to stay on than feel terrible and have negative consequences. First off try and do some things to feel healthier while you’re still on it then consider doing a very very slow titration down. Best of luck
✨If you state the intention that "it Cannot be done", then "it Cannot be done". = Doomed. The universal field will fulfill your command so be careful what you say or wish for. Most of those drugs are simply placebos (like Prozac) anyway. Most are only working because the patient believes what the doctor claims the drug can do. lol The drug companies know about the placebo effect because they've tested it and see that in many studies the placebos work better than the drug. Of course they're not going to tell you that. They can't make money if you find out that YOU ARE THE PLACEBO & have the power to heal yourself through your belief system/MIND SET. What we believe turns out to become true. Conceive it Believe it Achieve it ✨GET IT?✨ You have great power so be careful what you say and what you think as You're creating your reality with every thought. Read the book, You Are The Placebo or You are Supernatural, by dr. Joe Dispenza.... or conceive it believe it achieve it. Are you not aware of your superhuman abilities and how powerful your mind is? Drugs are mostly poison. There's a few that are helpful for acute situations but nothing should be taken long term because the body can only heal itself if it's not in the process of being Poisoned With Pharmaceuticals and as long as you full have faith in your body to heal itself. And of course, by all means, add in natural organic Alternatives support... meditate, dance, sing, ground in the sun and eat only organic whole foods from the Earth. Transcend the levels of your consciousness and read Ttranscending the Levels of Consciousness, by dr. David Hawkins, and read his books on HEALING as well. Illness and wellness is all a result of your Consciousness. Your Consciousness is your true self; your SOUL, the part of you that is the spark of God. Your Auric field can heal any ailment while you are sleeping if you have adopted a powerful mindset and a positive energy field for your Aura to thrive Within. Listen to Dr. David R Hawkins books on Audible including dr Joe Dispenza and hundreds of other similar authors speaking of the same thing like Joseph Murphy and Neville Goddard... and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj... "I Am That" and "You are not the Body" ............ Celebrate your true self and have faith in it's ability to heal. Every time you take a poison drug you are telling your body you do not trust it to heal on its own and you poison it with those thoughts and toxic chemicals. That path leads to disease and suppresses the power of the spirit. Those actions limit your superhuman abilities and will take you down into suffering. Drugs are like putting duct tape over your check engine light. Occasionally they may would be helpful in emergency situations, but it will take wisdom & Insight for you to get in touch with your TRUE self and what it can do and truly needs in order to thrive. New sentence; > IT CAN BE DONE!! > IT CAN BE DONE!! > IT CAN BE DONE!!
Your statement is a pure description of addiction. And with every addiction you have to go through a painful and hard withdrawal. Not easy but can be done. The first step is to admit your addiction. And get help.
Managing emotions with meditation and accessing a higher state of consciousness will pull most out of a depression immediately. It works for me and for my students, but it does take practice, commitment and faith. Just like Jesus said, we must have faith. Healing arises from the perception and the belief that we CAN achieve our desires. If you can conceive it and believe it, then you can achieve it. That is called faith and that is what Jesus taught for good reason, as Jesus is the great healer and that is how prayer works as well. We are the placebo. Have faith in this truth. It is this truth that will set you free. Jesus said that too! All humans have this innate ability within. It is our God given Birthright. Our subconscious will trap us into a field of despair if we choose to conceive it and believe it. Choose powerfully. All we need to do is access the energy of our higher consciousness where all healing arises from. This high-level healing is done by the astral body during sleep. If we set our intention to love with faith, we will awaken feeling brand new and eventually bursting with joy; when we realize the power of this great gift that has been kept secret. Put your faith in the Grace of God which has been coded within us all. Blessing you with love & joy.
@@LightshamanaDhyana I offered Support over a month ago, but this person is not yet open to healing. We cannot coach the uncoachable. Some people choose a long period of suffering and that is their Free Will right. Wellness is right here for them as soon as they're ready to be open to it. As a joy life coach and healer, I have written copious notes, but so far, no response. This person is not yet ready to heal. Healing takes Faith and Courage. Each person will need to first powerfully choose to emerge from their state of Fear before any real healing can begin. Fear will keep a person trapped and stuck reaching into a bottle. The ego is tricky like that. I have much empathy as I was once a fear-based person in the past as well.
The body heals itself all the time we are amazing! Mind and body connected. Tell your mind to engage its healing abilities, and it will help to heal whatever the malady.
Our materialistic value system has distracted us from believing how much power we have in controlling our own health and wellbeing. Thank you for educating how powerful we are.
My daughter unfortunately is allergic to salicylates. Fortunately she can still eat certain vegetables and fruits - cabbage, carrots, beans, green grapes, red delicious apples, etc. blueberries are out! Turmeric is high in salicylate so, she can not use it to contain inflammation. Her skin is much better now since we finally figured it out after over 30 years of struggling with allergy. Watch what she eats, filter used for showers, tallow soap and moisturizer with no essential oil, etc.
I manage my RA through my gut. It’s not easy but on the whole it works so many factors are included, keeping calm, breathing techniques and diet. I feel so much than taking all the toxic drugs.
This is a great talk and I’m totally into alternative medicine.I see a Naturopath regularly until my coverage is used up.Im so dreading when my husband retires and no medical to cover it.Im in Canada and so wish we had government coverage but they wouldn’t make the same money which unfortunately is the main reason for majority of doctors today.Diagnose and prescribe.Never anything else discussed .
I'm in UK, so NHS keeps it free but I am never asked if I want more tablets, just take this and now this as well and if you get any side effects you can have more pills. At least I'm not panicked about the cost, but I don't want all these drugs
I've been quite successful having a ketogenic lifestyle. However, it doesn't consist primarily of meat. I rarely eat beef, but do love bacon. I enjoy bacon once or twice a week but for the most part, my protein consists mainly of seafood, eggs and avocados. I include it with a big salad mixed with evoo, cayenne pepper, sea salt, pepper, and apple cider vinegar. I also do OMAD, but will fast up to 48 if I don't feel hungry. And I don't do sugar and carbs. I'm seeing comments saying Keto is Atkins and it's not.
Doing Keto, although I do eat sweet potato. No processed carb or sugar. Reversed my diabetes, taking no meds. Lost weight, and I feel better than I have in many years. I will reintroduce low sugar fruit down the road. I intermittent fast and it helped to reduce glucose.
Appreciate your reflections about patient care and the feelings of inadequate treatment within the medical profession. Even my husband, who is a psychologist, has little room for new ideas, nutritional options that might have benefits in treating mental health. That no, no, no this is the way to do it attitude is unacceptable. I find it all too familiar with many MDs. Tired of going to a doctor whose only answer is to prescribe a pill and doesn’t even ask me about my diet or stress level. That’s why I listen to your program. You question these attitudes and provide current ideas and research with your guests that bring some balance to the horizon. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 17 years and saw first hand how people rely on their drugs instead of changing their lifestyles. Some drugs are effective and helpful. But when you see someone entering a cancer study with a list of 30 drugs that they are currently taking you gotta wonder. And I saw that repeatedly. Thanks for being there. You enhance and improve the landscape of the medical community. ❤️
Yes, oh my gosh, I am glad you talked about how close minded many dacs are! I also agree that patients can definitely get defensiveness when a doc can't figure out what is wrong, so they try to tell you it's all in your head! To me, that is their ego talking. They can't figure it out, so there must not be anything there..... Well... I was feeling HORRIBLE, so I kept going to the doc and getting tests. The first thing doctors would tell me is that I look great, and that I don't look like anythings wrong w/me. Well gee thanks, but I feel lousy... Blood work came back "normal" according to them. I had massive pain in my legs and x-rays came back "normal" according to them. Well, finally, 4 months later, of me having to push to get doctors to take me seriously, they figured out I have stage 4 cancer.
My schizophrenia was debilitating. I couldn't focus on anything other than pub. It was like i was in a trauma loop of internal experiences. It was only when I started drinking water again was when I got better over time. Stress was more tolerable to such an extent I was even able to make phonecalls and buy orders online without having an anxiety attack. But you have to understand, I was drinking A LOT of water over a period of months. 4-5 months to be more specific. Also I took tiny amounts of sodium with most 1.7 litre bottles so my kidneys wouldn't shut down. That's overhydration. If you hate water with a passion, understand that the more dehydrated you are, the more you don't like it. I won't tell you what to do, but it helped me, maybe it could help you.
I want you 2 as my doctors. ❤🎉😊 I have fibromyalgia and CFS. For a long time I was told it's all in my head or don't work and go on disability. Or they push every drug that gives me nasty side effects. You 2 are amazing. How do we find doctors like you that I could afford??
Well done you - keep up with great vigour 👍
Your pretty spot on
Thanks
That is brilliant am suffering from chronic inflammation and needed to read this I hope I have your will power

I started following Andrew Weil in 1985 and am now 64. I have more energy than most 30 year olds. He was way ahead of the game.
Sigh
Patients will listen to doctor, doctor don't give time for this. Their focus is to write prescription and make money.

That's amazing! Keep up the great work!
Yes I’ve done the same thing. I do feel better eating this way. And in control.
Well done x
You are way too old for the Cub Scouts friend. I'm surprised they'd let you in
Great! Its a magic, i am doing the same and even fully raw. Please give any info about your teeth condition, i got into this trouble ( please if you have lost any tooth or have cut some tooth nerves please report how you feel about it after all. I started this because it seems very important for whole nerve system. Thank you!
I remember Dr. Weil spoke of inflammation as the common denominator in many diseases. He truly was ahead of his time; thankfully, I never forgot him.

“Mediterranean diet no way restricts the pleasure of food!” One of the only health gurus to acknowledge that this is part of health! So great!
Nah plenty have mentioned the enjoyment factor.

Mediterranean food is not sprayed with pesticides, GMO, poisoned like western food.

Working in Mental Health for over 20 years.. the Mental Aspect is almost completely ignored when there is an internal issue.. Thoughts and energies come from within and your thoughts can harm your body.. thoughts make you do things.. In Mental Health people hate on them selves and then self harm and then the pain becomes the release they desire, and also PAIN is the root cause of the way they feel in the first place.. its just cutting yourself is a PHYSICAL PAIN and the cause was MENTAL PAIN.. Dr. Andrew Weil is an amazing brilliant doctor on his teachings in living healthier lives.

Many MDs have their patients afraid of fruit! But they're OK with Hot Cheetos and other junk?! The government subsidizes this by letting people spend EBT on it.
Dr Weil looks exactly the same as he did when I started watching him 25-30 years ago...he obviously practices what he preaches!!!♥️
Agreed. He has an awesome breathing 4-7-8 technique.

Yes he does
It’s all relative...depends on how you look at it. He didn’t look good from a young age but was able to maintain that balance throughout the years.

Do you mean you look younger than 40? Or something else?
Can you please tell what did you eat and what did you give up and do generally ? Thanks
You shouldn't be showing much aging at 40 anyway.
Very true.
I agree, except when he said that a carnivore diet contributed to climate change. Really? Cow gas? Lost a bit of credibility there sir

That’s awesome im on same page . Keep going 💪🏽😘

Most doctors are big pharma puppets. Don't expect much from them. Avoid them if at all possible. Eat an apple a day.

Dr. Weil, I bought Spontaneous Healing in 1996 and I have to thank you for how much it impacted my life.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I feel the same as you do. Dr's. don't really know our bodies as well as we do. They are after $$$.
That is awful that they were surprised the green tea helped and then told him to stop drinking it. Doctors are disgusting sometimes. I’m sorry for your loss.
I’m going to start drinking green tea, thank you
@@Mike-.747 I think you need to drink like 8 cups a day, just replace water intake with it.
Also, in some East Asian countries, the parents make their children a huge thermos of green tea to take to school with them in the morning and they drink it throughout the day. Also a good idea if you’re on the go.
Unfortunately if I drink too much it takes away my appetite and I also notice it affects my hormones.
Thnks for sharing. God bless!

All chronic illnesses can be healed with holistic approaches and diet and medicine can support very well.

Stay close, don't over do it, at a failing time, or people go waaaay off, and get into bad stuff, because, none simply said, it's part of it, and, Just be you. You will enjoy a happy way to flow peacefully soon. That's how we do naturally. Then most will ..❤❤❤

My daughter and I are getting closer and yes, our relationship is so very healing to me
Andrew Weil has been saying these things for thirty years, and has been rubbished by the medical
establishment.

Great points - I would add avoiding industrial seed oils as well.
@@mj8495 Indeed I do.
I originally came across Dr Weil’s Eight Weeks to Optimum Health in 1997 and am so grateful. I’m still on a vacation from the news 😉
Greetings From Florida 🐬
I just ordered Berberine 🎯
Thank You 🙏
I hope you are doing well... Iodine insufficiency is prevalent in most peoples' diets. Healthy fats will help to improve thyroid function greatly - also don't overeat cruciferous vegetables, as they can inhibit thyroid function, something I only recently found out about. So now I only eat them once or twice a week...
What is berberine?
They're all bad tho lol. No long living person has eaten a keto diet and every long living person eats legumes and grains.

Totally Missed Tom Brady and Dr Steven Gundry plant paradox, inflammatory plants like grains and night shades
Thanks for Venasse Step? For your coment.
May I ask, how much olive oil do you drink per day? Thanks
@@maggieguzowski768 I never measure it but first thing in the morning I take a shot right out of the bottle; same thing at night before bed; then pour OO on salads or any other foods you eat during the day,

What brand of olive oil do you consume? Because I am yet to really see any virgin olive oil. It's always mixed with some other.

The very best to both of you…❤️🌷🙏🙌🦋
Thank you doctor's for sharing all of this wisdom. Excellent interview.
You are both very wise. Breath control in Yoga is a fantastic reliever of stress. Also we are always told to take a deep breath before taking exams, for example, to relax etc.
Breath control is the component of meditation that bears fruit
Yes and even better is nasal breathing as yoga breathing... There are excellent interviews with James Nestor. His book Breath goes into this to enhance yoga practice. Life changing.
The chronic pain community is doing tremendous work on the mind/body front...many practitioners are moving the dial aligned with Dr Weil.
I agree with your guest. Even as a Vegan 🌱 I also recommend a Mediterranean way of eating because it does not threaten their meat and cheese and it helps them to start to understand food
This video should be used for training in the NHS ! Tell this to the GPs
I have started eating more greens and limited carbs. I feel much better! Mostly eating consciously and not overeating at meals, not many snacks in between meals😊
Hello to both of you especially Dr Weil which I follow him about 20 years. He is great and knowledgeable, thanks❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wish there were more doctors in the nhs like dr chatterjee. We. need more holistic physicians.
Agreed, but the powers that be give alternative foods and holistic healthcare a bad press as it against what they stand for, after developing RA , i read the book wheat belly and cereal killer, very informative, i now only eat foods not GMOs and what a health difference.
NHS doctors are not allowed to think for themselves.
I’m so grateful for your channel Dr. Chatterjee. I’m inspired to make a change in my own health care. Thank you!
Thank you both. Dr Weil I am a long time fan. These eating plans help me tremendously.
I love Dr Weil and have followed him for longer than I can remember.
Dr. Weil is the OG holistic physician and innovator. I bought his book over 10 years ago & started drinking green tea and seeing food as medicine.
2-28-22. 💯✌️🥰🙏
Thanks DR Rangan and DR Weil for your idea's of a healthy way of our lives, worth living for.
Discovered Dr Weil years ago. He is a treasure to the medical field. His books are great. Thank you for posting this wonderful video.
And he has looked the same for years, doesn’t seem to age. I think he’s near 80 in this video
at 10:30min- "in many cases health benefits that people experience when they change the way they eat are not directly due to the dietary change but rather to the commitment of mental energy to do something to improve their health, there is no way to do that experiment but i think, its not easy for people to change how they eat and so, to do so represents a great commitment in mental energy and that often initiates a healing response blah blah blah blah," that excerpt right there tell you EVERYTHING you need to know-this guy is a full of it....thank you & good night!
This is an excellent interview.
thank you for the great talk , and your patience sharing with us all your wisdom !

Most are only working because the patient believes what the doctor claims the drug can do. lol
The drug companies know about the placebo effect because they've tested it and see that in many studies the placebos work better than the drug. Of course they're not going to tell you that. They can't make money if you find out that YOU ARE THE PLACEBO & have the power to heal yourself through your belief system/MIND SET.
What we believe turns out to become true.
Conceive it
Believe it
Achieve it
✨GET IT?✨
You have great power so be careful what you say and what you think as You're creating your reality with every thought.
New sentence;
> IT CAN BE DONE!!
> IT CAN BE DONE!!
So much important information here! Truly hope you have Dr Weil on the schedule again soon. He is truly amazing.
Thank you so much Dr Rangan. Love your podcast and i love your passion in helping others. God bless you ❤
I manage my RA through my gut. It’s not easy but on the whole it works so many factors are included, keeping calm, breathing techniques and diet. I feel so much than taking all the toxic drugs.
Wow, I'm speechless, he hit a home run. I love this guy.
Mr. Weil has a great prospective on medical care in the USA.
Time stamps would be very helpful.
What is the remedy in a nutshell?
This guy had stage 4 or close, I can’t remember, and he got cured. It’s on here. ruclips.net/video/YzPrxku1x5Y/видео.html

I hope you are ok, much love.
