Good morning. It is cold. And a great day for Garage sales. Come by mine on N. Leslie near Irene. I love this town.

Bell Vista and Joanita is were I lived when I first moved to Pahrump in 1988. Bought 5 acres, 2 wells/2 septics with a double wide mobile. $50,000
Only 8000 residents at the time. I left in 2012. I miss that small town. I enjoyed your video

Very Much enjoyed this "Backyard Visit" of where you graze when not on the road! And really appreciated the reasons why you hung out at some of the spots that are near and dear to your homestead heart! I remember when you first introduced Death Valley Market Place and some of those "Questionable Flavors" of Soda Pop! LOLOL That Coffin Yard is To Die For!! But to have this in your backyard is gnarly! Might just be me but of all the different ways we can travel...seeing a boat literally out of water and sitting on dry land seems like a Twilight Zone moment! Planes not in the air, Trains not on tracks, cars in showrooms and even Rockets hanging up in a room all seem natural...but a boat drydocked looks strange! Cheers From Ohio Larry

Its not as difficult as it seems. It's just a ton of repetitive stuff.

Wow both of those old rail cars are very cool. The box car that someone added doors and windows too is wild. Probably was converted to a house way out in the desert somewhere along long time ago judging by the door and window frame styles… although maybe those doors and windows were also reclaimed from some old house along time ago.

Hey Larry. Excellent tour of Pahrump. Your narration is wonderful, you have a great talking voice. I hope to visit soon, they have some cool places I want to try like the Pour House. It seems like such an eclectic town.

Hi Larry. Cool video. I liked the lot with all of the junk on it. The old railcars where really neat. I have been watching your lives and videos just haven't been commenting. But I had to on this one. Take care brother 🤝

I like people who can appreciate a lot full of rusty machines, etc. Really there is a strange beauty and history you can feel in a place like that, and the peaceful small-town vibe comes across.

It is definitely an abandoned yard, but from what? I’m in agreement that those are rail cars with the tracks (?) wheels, removed. It would be interesting to find out who owns it. Most looks like someone just dumped there. The tires……just thrown there, don’t think that was a tire shop, too much construction debris there, pallets, roof braces, is that what those are called? That “house” on bricks is old, 1930’s…40’s? Look at the slats on the walls, they stopped doing that in houses a long time ago. You know that though. Too bad no one was out in that house next door to it and you could find out some information about all that stuff, but I’ll bet someone just dumped it. Especially the boat! For some reason you find those all over the desert, no idea why, too expensive to keep perhaps? No lake anywhere close that’s for sure. Cool place to explore!! ❤️❤️ stay safe Larry!!

That property at Cottonwood is very old. Used to be a general store that was a pet shelter and thrift store when I moved to Pahrump. The old schoolhouse that was there was moved to the museum

If you like arid, dry air, lots of rocks, and openness, Pahrump is your town. I tried living in Nevada, but my skin became dried out and my hands cracked. I got nose bleeds. I got out of Vegas within a year. My guess is, I spoke with people born there, they love it. If you’re born there, than your use to it. I missed the green pastures of Georgia. As soon as I got outta there, within a week, my skin cleared up.

Thank you for sharing! I am from Mesquite, NV and I always envisioned Pahrump being about the same size as Mesquite! Boy was I mistaken! We are only at about 21,000 population…with SNOWBIRDS! This was so awesome to see the place! Thank you!

Look for a four digit number close to where it says DOT. For example 3222, this tire would have been made during the 32 nd week of 2022. The first two numbers are the week, the last two are the year.

A scythe...the Grim Reaper, a symbolic personification of Death, carries one. So makes sense at the coffin place.

Hello. I stumbled upon your video and watched it. I was wondering where that lot is at with the old rail cars? I've lived in Pahrump for 10 years and have never seen that spot. I think the train group that I'm a member of, would love to see those. Thanks.

My grandpa had one on his dairy farm about 30 miles north of Detroit. I think he called it a scythe. I tried to use it when I was eight years old. Did not have enough strength. My father was pretty good using it.

interesting, with some of the wood on the lot with boat, wonder if one can go clean it up? i would be interested in doing that, reuse it for building something looking rustic. guess i am going to have to make a video of the area what i like of it. the town is growing way too fast for my liking.

The things strewn about + boat + hardened crack mud ???? did a flash flood come through there some years ago??? that boat looks like it washed in and landed there - most of that stuff could have come from someplace else. possibly, if there was a flood - the direction of flow can be determined. Flow may only have been a few inches deep but enough to move those items.
