I’m enjoying Pahrump Nv and really enjoying the weather and people. My first time here.
Most utubers talk about good restaurants and parks, which is very nice. But you are full of very useful info! Keep up the excellent reviews!!! Thanks!
I will probably show my favorite restaurant at some point while we are here in Pahrump... LOL Tried to stick to resources that first-time or new visitors would find helpful for this video though.
@@RobertWitham much appreciated!
Thanks for the tour. I wish I found this town before I moved to FLA.
Thank you. Looking to build there soon.
my late husband and I managed the Escapees park summer of 2008. Things sure have changed in the town since then. I did shop at Smith's because I would receive checks for cash back from using their card when I shopped.
Yes please, move to Pahrump as Vegas is too busy and expensive.
These area intro videos are great!!!
You guys know that town well. I have seen many pass through but never a whole town tour.
Very helpful info - thanks so much!
Pahrump is great! Very friendly people, love it.
Met you at the HOWA BYOV yesterday. Forgot to say I'm a subscriber. I enjoyed you new video. Now I know where to get propane. Thanks 👍

Good info, good tour!! Nice town! Safe travels!!🌞
Heard so much about Pahrump, but this is the first tour and service availability video! I found this very informative and useful! Thank you!!
Thanks, Don! I'm glad you found this video helpful. We've both been coming here for a while so we have developed some favorite haunts over the years.
Good stuff! Thanks for the tour!
Glad you enjoyed it! Pahrump is a great town for snowbirds/nomads, but it can take a bit to find your way around to all of the helpful services.
Hi Robert/Melanie: We are headed towards Pahrump next week before Thanksgiving. Wanted to see if you have a suggestion where to dump in town. Both tanks and possible potable water. Hope we bump into you both~
Hmmm… Pahrump caters to RVers and Van lifers in a lot of ways. The two biggest challenges I have noticed are showers and dump options. The place I have heard most people use for dumping and fresh water is Preferred RV Resort. I would expect some of the other RV parks would also allow dumping and fresh water for a fee, but I don’t know which ones for certain. Amargosa Valley RV Park does have cheap dumping too if you happen to be leaving via Hwy 95 north toward Beatty.
Preferred RV website is www.preferredrv.com/
@@RobertWitham thanks Robert for the response! Appreciate it.
Isn't this the place where Randy Jones is going to be building a place for incredible Tiny Homes ? Thank You Robert for posting this, been wondering what this area was like.
I'm not familiar with that tiny house project, but Pahrump is something of a hotspot for snowbirds. It's usually about 5-10 degrees cooler than Quartzsite so a fair number of people come here during spring and fall, but then go on to Parker/Quartzsite/Yuma for the coldest winter months. A lot of people do just stay in Pahrump all winter though too. It's certainly a lot more mild weather than much of the country has during winter, and the area tends to be very "nomad friendly" like Quartzsite.
@@RobertWitham Thank You for your reply and also for the information. Thank You
Randy Jones is building an off-grid community in Crystal, about half an hour from Pahrump.
Mom's is the best restaurant in Pahrump hands down.
We ate there not too long before heading north this spring!
@@RobertWitham I ate there about 8 9 times. Good fresh food.
How did those cars driving by disappear at 0:39 and 0:54 and 1:11? Creepy stuff going on in the desert.
Man I gotta start paying better attention
LoL what the heck!!!!
Is Pahrump cyclable? I lived in Laredo and biked. Laredo is spread out hot and dry with few bike lanes. I managed to get around.
I wouldn't call it the most bike-friendly city I have ever seen, but any time I am in town I do see plenty of people riding bikes and walking. It's certainly better than some cities I have seen in that regard.
Your answer is NO,drivers in Pahrump will run over you.
Planning on full time rv living. Is it better to claim domicile in Wyoming vs Nevada?
Hmmm... Great question! I think we will make an updated video to address this question as there is a lot of nuance involved with a domicile decision.
What is crime rate? I heard good and bad. Reason asking is I’m interested in looking to move there but not sure yet
My understanding from the official data is that the crime rate is not bad for a city. On the other hand, anecdotal evidence suggests to me that there is more property crime (theft, vandalism, etc) that I would consider acceptable. It’s still probably better than a lot of big cities, but I tend to prefer much smaller towns myself so there’s definitely an element of bias in my opinion.
Did not like the fact you did not meant ion our Lady’s and you know what I mean.
Medical services?
That would be a concern, in my opinion. There is a small hospital in Pahrump and there are some doctors. I don’t have any firsthand experience with the medical services there, but I have not heard great feedback from those who have. Las Vegas is populated enough to have some big hospitals, but when I researched it a few years ago it didn’t seem like they were top rated. In fairness, I am picky about healthcare quality as I grew up with a mother who worked and healthcare management and later worked in emergency medicine myself.
@RobertWitham Thanks Robert
My wife sees different doctors, but I'm relatively healthy. Health care in general has gone downhill. Appreciate your response.
Can you camp out blm
lands in a tent and move around them because my place where I live in California got flooded out we were even on the news we’re homeless now cause we can’t find any place to rent so we thought about hopping BLM land until we get a place I was there last year around New Year’s at my aunts place the time that we have here at the fairgrounds with the Red Cross is very limited. They’re kicking us out after a week. My mom is 85 years old cancer. I have nowhere else to go with her. i’m worried about her than anything else.
I lived there a few times homeless living in my van , tent , Etc . , and yes , you can pretty much camp out anywhere back behind the Nugget Casino ..There were some rough homeless people out there , saw the Cops out there a few times but I never had a problem ..Bottom line , haul your trash in and keep your area clean , Common sense ..
I do see people tent camping on BLM land in this area occasionally. Vans, RVs, trailers, and even cars are more common, of course. The ground is pretty rocky and it's been a cold, wet winter, but it should be possible at least. The wind is something to think about too - some days hardly and wind, but then other days it's really crazy.
I'll be there in November to hang out with my aunt for a few weeks. 🦒🦃🍷🍗🥐🥒🥦🌽🥧
