Thanks, Kurt! I was hoping to provide some valuable info in this video. I hear from folks periodically who are looking for an RV park in Pahrump and unsure where to start. It seemed like providing a driving tour of every park I could find along with contact information would be a good starting point.
Oh no kidding!? That is a really lovely park. I tried to hit like two rows in each park just to provide something of an overview for folks who are wondering which places they might want to stay.
Love Lakeside in Pahrump. That place is really pretty and normally very clean. Love the beach and they have kayaks and paddle boats you can use for free,
Chuck said, “Glad you didn’t run over the camera in that intro.” Lol. Loved seeing the snow capped mountains from time to time. This will be so helpful for a lot of people Robert. Ty for all your hard work. That wild burro lying down was awesomeness. Lettie said it looked It had been shot. Lol.
Ha! I was a bit concerned about running over the camera. I forgot I was parked by a little bush and was going to need to back up to leave :) The burros were all in good shape :)
The prices I have seen run between $250-ish up to $500 per month. A couple of the fancier places may be a bit more though. I expect those prices probably come down during summer when fewer people are hanging out around here as winter is the busiest season.
Nice tour,Robert..Really close together for RV parking..Must be fun to get some large rigs in the spaces..Thank you for the video..Have a blessed day..
Nice tours! I think that I would stay out in Beady for the month if they had a DMV. I wonder if they do...... Also it's looked like the ones in Beady didn't have restrictions on the kind of rigs that you can park there. I saw a van older than mine in one of them! Thank you so much! It was fun to watch. 😊👍👍🌻🐢🚐🚙🐢🚐🚙🐌🐢🚐🐢🐌🐌🐛🌻
The parks in Beatty did seem more relaxed on the types of rigs than many of the parks in Pahrump. I believe the two DMV offices in Nye County are in Pahrump and Tonopah - so Beatty is right about in the middle of those.
Another great video Robert. 🎙️ Saving for future reference. 👍 I've lived in Nevada off and on and the sun gets pretty brutal in the summer! Trees are very important when considering a spot. 🤙 It's comforting to see you're taking social distancing seriously! 😷 Take care and stay safe!! ☮️♥️
I was hoping this would be a valuable resource for anyone considering coming to this area and needing an RV park. Usually I have headed north by this time of year because it is too hot for me, but this year has so far been cooler than normal. Daytime temps are in the low 70s right now with a forecast of up to 81 for the last few days of the month.
Hi Robert! Debra suggested this video to me, let me tell you something, this info is priceless. Thank you for taking the time to put this information together 🙏🏼 Blessings!
Thank you :) I'm glad you found this video helpful! I know we had been periodically asked over the past few years for RV park recommendations in the Pahrump area. We never knew what to tell people as we always boondocked when we were there. It was a bit of a project researching and visiting this many RV parks, but I was happy to be able to provide the information as a resource :)
Thank you, Mike! I'm glad you found it helpful. I am asked periodically for RV Park recommendations in this area so though this might be a useful resource.
Just what the nomad needs. Accurate first hand knowledge. 2:45 amazing how much shade they have there. $500 month Bet that WiFi is slow in that parking lot with hookup?
Almost forgot to mention, those wild burros really added to the overall charm of the place! Tks for taking all that time to research and film the places. Will you be making a video on favorite Boondocking spots? That would also be of interest I'm sure. ;D
I hope so too! I am asked periodically for RV park recommendations in this area. It seemed like a drive through tour of all of them would be useful for anyone looking for a park in this area.
It is fun to watch this video again now that I am out here. I am in the Preferred RV park. I donated most of my camping gear to HOWA. I keep hoping to run into you at the mailboxes location. Hopefully We will see each other to say hi one day! Thanks for your research on this and I continue to enjoy all of your videos, especially nomad news, and thanks for inspiring me! Bob C
Thanks, Bob! I do bump into people at the mailbox spot routinely. I have heard good things about Preferred RV, but haven't been inside the front gate myself yet.
Thanks so much, Robert, for all the helpful info as I work my way westward, good to know where to hitch up even if it is temporary. How hot is it there right now?
Thank you! I'm glad you found this helpful. After spending a few months there each spring/fall for a few years we were receiving a lot of requests for recommendations about RV parks in the area. I thought it might be helpful to visit as many as I could find and share the info in a video.
Glad it was helpful! We have been asked periodically for info about RV parks for those who want to domicile in Nevada. I was hoping this would be a useful resource for anyone looking for an RV park in the area for whatever reason.
Hello. What is the wifi/internet like at Shadow Mountain Scenic RV Resort and RV Ranch Resort in Pahrump? Do you know? These are 2 that I'm looking at. Thanks!
I'm glad you found this video helpful! We have been asked a lot where to stay in the Pahrump area so I finally decided to search the options and make a video to share the information. There are a surprising number in Pahrump along with a few to the north in Amargosa and Beatty. The spot where I am in Wyoming is a small city about the same size as Pahrump and it has only a few RV parks in total.
Good question about a car or minivan. I did see full-size vans at a few parks, though I'm sure in some of the nicer parks they would not even allow vans unless they are official Class B RVs. It really depends on the park. I don't stay in them very often so have limited firsthand experience, but I have found a few that don't really care what vehicle someone has so long as they have money for rent. LOL Usually those are the less fancy places that are struggling to fill empty spots.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am a newbie to this stuff and don't know my way around. I have to decide about where to live as I don't want to get registered in one place and then have to pay for everything again, you know plates and licenses and dog tags etc. This was so helpful. One question: Is it windy everywhere or is it in certain areas? I don't like the wind.
I'm glad you found this helpful, Gayle. I was hoping to make this a helpful resource for people who are considering coming to this area, whether for a short stay or to establish domicile. There is a link in the video description to a related article on my website that also includes links to the websites (or as many as I could find) for the RV parks in this video as well. It is windy in this area periodically, but certainly not every day. Fortunately. LOL My experience has been that the wind is worse outside of town, but not quite as bad in town where there is more stuff to block it. Out in the desert though where it is wide open it can really blow sometimes. Higher elevations, like on top of a hill or mountain, are also really windy.
How long did it take you to research and record this? Quite extensive. You should maybe have gone into the gated one. Except most nomads couldn't afford it.
It was quite a process to make this video! LOL I spent part of one day doing preliminary research (probably a couple of hours), then spent most of a day driving to each of the RV parks to film, and then most of another day editing and publishing. Hopefully it is a solid resource for anyone looking for RV parks in southern Nye County, whether for a short stay or to move their domicile to Nevada.
I’m glad you found this video helpful! For the most part it seems that the RV parks in more rural areas are less expensive, but of course then you have to drive further to access big stores or services.
@@RobertWitham Just based on my online research the cheapest decent looking RV park I've seen in the southwest is Dazzo's in Wikieup, AZ $200./mo. Might make for an interesting video if you're in the area.
Who knew there would be so many RV parks to choose from? It would be interesting to know the average prices. $500/month is nice but probably the last place I would choose to stay.
That one is definitely not my style either! I was actually surprised to see no vegetation and it basically just being a parking lot. I have heard of a few really nice parks in this area that are $600/month, while I know of a couple of others that are closer to $250 (obviously not as nice, but still ok). I was surprised that there were so many as well. Took me an entire day to drive through all of them! LOL
I thought all RV parks and camping grounds were closed during the Covid-19 pandemic? there's not a lot of social distancing going on in some of those parks, stay safe and healthy 😀🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
The RV park closures has been a state-by-state issue. So far they remain open in Nevada, though I did notice one that had a sign about not accepting travelers at this time. My hope with this video was that it would be helpful both now and for some time to come as so many people do come through here each year and are often uncertain as to which RV parks they might want to look into.
I could tolerate it for a short while, but definitely not my style either. I think some are a bit more (the really nice ones) while others are even less expensive.
Robert Would love to bring a 14 ft. Wolf Pup to this area from Oregon. I may even relocate here. I’m looking for a quiet place to live in a not so crowed park. Do you have a recommendation?
Does that Dump charge you as an interesting system? If you only have a few household trash bags they weigh you can’t imagine it gonna add up to anything when you leave..
I haven't actually been to the landfill in a few years now, but when I did used to there I was never charged. They did have a sign that the landfill was only for residents. I just explained that I was there for the winter and they let me through with no problem. The one entrance does take you over the weigh scale, but I think they only actually weigh commercial vehicles.
If I flopped down like that burro I would never be able to get back up. I laughed out loud. Some of the parks are just to close together for my taste. I shouldn't be able to hear someone else's arguments in the next RV.
Thank you for you'r hard work. I think this video is very helpful.
