just found this video....agree with 1st comment ...no stupid music or looking at someones face 90% of the time. seeing that this was 11 yrs ago, wonder how much has changed. I just did some research on Pahrump and they are building lots of communities . moving up to creating more jobs . thanks for the awesome video.

This shows a really good perspective on how small of a town I (and anyone else who has lived there) grew up/lives in. Everyone seems to hate it but I love it! I live in Las Vegas right now (Pahrump is about a 40-50 minute drive away from Las Vegas) but when I am able to be on my own (very soon), I plan on moving back there. It's such a nice place to live because it's quiet and lots of places to ride dirt bikes and stuff. And the houses there are cheap (saw some around 50k)! Thats my opinion... I cant wait to move back there.

My parents moved us there in 1973 it was nice then. It totally sucks now couldn't wait to get out of there. Moved this past summer and haven't been happier. The schools leave a lot to be desired, I know I worked for the district for almost 17 years. So if you have kids find somewhere else to move, that is if you want them to have a chance in life.

Pahrump Nevada is about one hour from Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park. I have stayed in Death Valley National Park and have driven to Pahrump. If you drive to Pahrump from Death Valley, it is best to fill the car gas tank in Parhump before returning to Death Valley. This is because the gasoline prices in Pahrump are a lot lower than the gasoline prices in Death Valley National Park.

I just spent a week there. Can't say I was a fan of the 103 degree heat, but other than that everything was fine. I think it's cool that the town is full of open carry people with their guns sticking out their black kydex holsters, packing two spare clips. I also think it's cool when the tour busses taking Europeans to death valley stop there, because you hear gasps and near panic when they encounter some random armed dude at the WalMart.

Just for everyone's info that are talking about moving here... unemployment sucks major! I've been here 4 years and haven't found anything substantial. Denny's opened up here a couple years ago and upwards of 300 people showed up for a job. The only things coming in are small restaurants (about one a year and they are fast-food) and mom-and-pop shops that don't last more than a year or so. Most of the kids are on some kind of drugs - mostly meth or pills. There's good - just hard to find.

My grandparents moved here, from Seabrook, New Hampshire. It's a pretty aggravating story, actually.
My grandfather was all like "Hey wife, we can get a job in a casino in Vegas and become rich!" And my grandmother was all like "Hey husband, fuck off." And my grandfather was all like "But it's true!" and my grandmother was all like "We have literally zero family out there. The bugs are insane, the heat will kill us and my sister will have to go with us. It's going to be expensive and there is a much higher chance of us getting nothing out of it than there is of us actually getting something out of it. It's not worth-" and my grandfather was all like "Too bad, I bought a house out in Pahrump and sold this one." And my grandmother was all like "What the fuck, husband!" And my grandfather was all like "What?"
Then they lived there for like five years, got nowhere, and moved back to New Hampshire. They kept promising me that they'd take me out to see pahrump and their new house, and all the lights in Las Vegas (which would have been a bad idea due to me being like six and there being an over abundance of prostitutes there) but they never did. I was stuck in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I would have rathered moved out there with them, but nope!
