Thanks Trash Talkers! The band write and release a series of comic books called The Amory Wars. The albums are concept albums based on the series of comic books. Coheed and Cambria are names of two characters in the comic books. Glad you liked the song and happy being part of the tribe!
We have to see thank you Baby Owl. Didn't know that about the comics but thats dope. Thank you for such an amazing song and all your love and support on Patreon!
The comic, The Amory Wars is definitely worth checking out, it's a sprawling sci-fi fantasy epic drama about the destruction of a star system named "Heaven's Fence" by the main character Coheed, IIRC...I believe the main chunks of the comics came out around the early 2000's, so it's been a while...
@@Hollywood6IXMy brother-in-law's cousin is the lead guitarist (not the singer). I see his dad every Christmas Eve. I'm seeing them live in October fir only the third time. My sister, who is all about pop and dance music has seen them on just about every tour since 2002. LOL
Claudio Sanchez is the singer. They use back up vocals but no other main vocals. He also writes a series of graphic novels that correspond to the albums. Coheed and Cambria are the main characters in the story.
The 6 string gives him lead in a lower notes, the 12 string gives him dual tone for sliding rythm into lead for higher notes. Many guitarists, whom are skilled enough to play them, use it so they can change the octave of their voice multiple times during the song, and the lead stays with their vocals, instead of having low lead, high octave. Helps with the flow of the piece. Hard AF to do though.
One thing I’ve always liked about this channel, and it’s been a while since I’ve kept up, but you guys always keep a super open mind to the music itself. And that the rock/metal and hip hop communities have a lot in common.
try "the dark sentencer" which is a really good representation of some of their very recent work that still holds the essence of their core sound. key entity extraction I: domino the destitute is another amazing one from them. they have an uncanny ability of fusing genres in such satisfying ways. love your guys content keep doing what you're doing!
Ah should have used the album version! Slaps even harder. I've seen Coheed 15 times and have the keywork (the symbol on the tvs at the end) tattooed on my wrist. Amazing band.
Fun fact, I was singing this song out loud in the back of my aunt's pickup, and once I got to the lyric "I hope you DIE" the truck died, because she missed the clutch. We were right in the middle of traffic, so it was scary! I sat up from the bed of the truck like "What happened?" XD
The video version cuts out like 2 minutes of the song so you guys could check out a non-video version. It has a longer second verse and longer guitar solo. And if you felt like it, you should check out some live performances. They sound better live and have exceptional energy with the audience. I would recommend the Hammerstein Ballroom performance of this song as well as the album finisher, The Final Cut, which has a long guitar solo jam session at the end.
They generally go by Progressive Rock or Prog Rock. Their name comes from their graphic novel which ties all but one of their albums together in story mode.
The double neck for this song is actually used as an homage to Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. The verse riffs of the song are very heavily inspired by the Zeppelin song Kashmir.
What a sick song! I remember seeing this on TV when I was about 14 and I had to go and get the album. Theres a quirky mix of songs on there and the album feels like a story/journey.
The double necked guitar is a normal 6-string on bottom and a 12-string on top. The 12-string guitar has 6 pairs of strings and each pair is very close together. Usually the pairs are either tuned an octave apart, or to the same octave.
Another great reaction, guys! I'd love to see your reaction to Sentry The Defiant by Coheed. There's also an at home video of Claudio playing it acoustic on his own which is 👌
I didn't like this band at all when they first came out, but this song is what made them click for me, then I could actually listen to their older songs with appreciation. Sometimes a good band takes a while to marinate in your brain before you can get it.
This just happened to me two days ago through random play on amazon music. I could not stand their music in my youth. 20 something years later and click.
The first doubleneck Gibson SG (also red) was custom made for Jimmy Page so he could play Stairway to Heaven live. It was later put in regular production.
Coheed has been a big favorite of mine for a long time. They were kinda local to my neck of the woods when growing up so I saw them at small shows when they were first starting back when I was in around 9th grade. I'm going to suggest 3 tracks from their album called The Second Stage Turbine Blade. Time Consumer, Devil In Jersey City, and Everything Evil. All absolutely phenomenal. They were a game changer for me for sure
Hello!!!!! The next Coheed you should listen to is The Liars Club personally feel it is one of the best. To answer some of your questions, yes Claudio sings over tracks of himself in all the different octaves. His range is mind blowing. Also check out live concert footage they are as phenomenal live as they are studio recorded. Yes they play when recording the videos!
This song is so majestic feeling! The only reason I ever heard this song in the first place is because it was the theme song for NXT in 2012-2013. But I think I'd like some different stuff from this band, if I took the time to search it out. Great work, homies!
Morning guys!! I never really listened to these guys. This is a Kool song! His voice kinda reminds me of the lead singer from rush's voice..sorta. lol. Thanks guys🤓❤️
If you're into comic books at all (or books because the whole story isn't in comic book format) almost all of Coheed and Cambria's music is based on the Amory War story which is written by their lead singer Claudio Sanchez. Coheed and Cambria are the father and mother of a family which are the main characters in the Amory War saga. And if you're wondering about the genre of comic, it's basically Star Wars on hallucinogens.
Claudio has a comic series called The Amory Wars. Coheed & Cambria is one part of it. He also made another project called The Prize Fighter Inferno that ties into things too.
Good song! Still waiting to see some Highly Suspect and The Amity Affliction. Maybe some Spiritbox too. And if we are going to revisit some bands how about Mushroomhead, Primus, and Static-X!🤘🔥💯
Coheed and Cambria is a rare band whose music is able to transcend “scenes” and effortlessly cross genres of rock - from indie to progressive and from metal and pop-punk to classic rock.
You guys need to check out the band Rival Sons....Id recommend "Electric Man" or "Pressure and Time"....also "Do Your Worst".....They have a lot of great songs!!
hes the main singer and the guitarist does back up. the drummer too i think. i don't know much about this band other than this album haha. i loved this album. i do believe their first 4 or 5 albums are are connected as a story. then i think they started a new one? i dunno. but its fun to dive into
I'd call these guys modern progressive rock, myself. Double necks are usually a 6 and 12 string, the 12 string has 2 strings placed close to each other so you have 2 tones for each note you're playing. You can also have two different tunings on them, but that's mostly from before we had pedals and electronics built into the guitars that can change that stuff on the fly.
Great reaction glad you did it....bbuuuuttt this song is played out as a reactionary video. Try In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth, The Crowing, Love Murder One, The Final Cut Live, Neverender, Faint of Hearts, or anything off the Good Apollo: Burning Star IV volume 1 From Fear Through the Eyes if Madness album ( except welcome home). Have a good one boys.
Love that you did Coheed. Incredibly talented band. If you go through their catalog you’ll find a ton of gems. Their album No World for Tomorrow was recorded using Taylor Hawkins on drums. That album is a definite listen. Have another request for you. I’ll post it on patreon also, Beartooth- Devastation. I wouldn’t steer you wrong, you won’t be disappointed.
This is their most popular song but ive never liked it. I actually find it one of their most simplistic and basic songs...which is probably why its so popular. I also love their drummer Josh's hip hop side gig Weerd Science. He's got some ridiculous flow and of course being a drummer, he has the beats.
Coheed's drummer Josh Eppards had his own rap career before going full time with Coheed and Cambria. If there's such a thing as "comedy rap" that was his thing. My favorite song from his band "Weerd Science" was a bit more serious and was called "Your Shovel".
Listen to The Gutter, Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, Dark Side of Me, The Pavilion, Cut the Cord (Rise Ninuasha, Rise), Iron Fist, and for a fun song that has nothing to do with the armory wars, Jessie’s Girl 2! These guys are great. In My top 3 favorite progressive metal bands for sure!
If you want to see the best use of a looper I am telling you check out Paul Meany Beastie Boys remix. It's dope AF and I think no one has reacted to it. Love you guys. You help me get through the grind.
Back from a nasty tooth infection, 😋. This one the first song on guitar hero I didn't know, that I learned to play without looking at the TV screen lmao. Please please please do Weight of sound by stick figure
i love me some coheed reactions, but this is the most overplayed song they have lol. I guess every react channel has to do this song once heh. Looking forward to seeing you guys do some more of their catalogue in the future. IKSSE or The Crowing, - hell, almost anything off either of the Good Apollo albums would be awesome.
Classified most of the time as Progressive Rock... but Coheed is all over the place. Should check out the sequel to Jesse's Girl from the 80's really cool.
"You stormed off to scar the armada Like Jesus played letter I'll drill through your hands The stone for the curse you have blamed me With love and devotion, I'll die as you sleep." Shouldn't have cut off the end. 7 and change.
Typically a double neck guitar is used for using a tuning that is still the same key but an octave higher or lower, in this case yes its a 12 string which is technically the same but plays the same and a higher octave at the same time
Word of Advice: Try to skip the Music videos for Coheed cuz they are often the radio edits. The radio edits chop off like a full minute of the song lol
Thanks Trash Talkers! The band write and release a series of comic books called The Amory Wars. The albums are concept albums based on the series of comic books. Coheed and Cambria are names of two characters in the comic books.

Happy some else new this cheers.
All but one of their albums are tied to the story as are Claudio's solo albums. It's a sprawling concept.

They're epic best way to describe them.
Claudio Sanchez is the singer. They use back up vocals but no other main vocals. He also writes a series of graphic novels that correspond to the albums. Coheed and Cambria are the main characters in the story.
The Amory Wars.
They're the main characters of Second Stage. Their son, Claudio Kilgannon is main character of the entire story.
Some bands create concept albums.
Coheed And Cambria has concept discography.

This one brings back so many memories. My bro and I used to play this one on Rock Band A LOT! Love this reaction
You should watch the guitar center live video of this song, even better
I got to see Coheed at the Tabernacle in Atlanta some years ago. What a venue! You guys ever been?
Absolutley we have. Smokey has actually performed at The Tabernacle
@@Hollywood6IX that’s dope

bro that "YEA" once the solo started had me dying lmaoo
3 or delirium trigger - you won’t be disappointed!
Morning guys this one was different!!! 🔥👽

The Guitar Center performance of this song is fantastic, and really shows the guitar in action.
They generally go by Progressive Rock or Prog Rock. Their name comes from their graphic novel which ties all but one of their albums together in story mode.
I really wish you could have watched a live version of this specifically but I'm stoked were getting more Coheed reactions
The double neck for this song is actually used as an homage to Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. The verse riffs of the song are very heavily inspired by the Zeppelin song Kashmir.
This song hits so hard.
The drummer, Josh, is a beast. What you see him doing in the video is how he plays.
Their drummer, Josh Eppard, is also a rap artist that goes with the name "Weerd Science" You should check out some of his songs too.
There’s vid of Josh beatboxing songs with the rest of Coheed.
Love this song! Don't know much Coheed outside this album but the album is 🔥🔥
What a sick song! I remember seeing this on TV when I was about 14 and I had to go and get the album. Theres a quirky mix of songs on there and the album feels like a story/journey.
welcome back to The Fence, boys 🤘🏻🔥🍻 check out “The Dark Sentencer”, “Gravity’s Union”, “Gravemakers & Gunslingers”,

Great video, love this song. And the exit outro riff damn good!
You guys should check out the live version on guitar center sessions, besides this is the shorter version of the song
I second this!!
I didn't like this band at all when they first came out, but this song is what made them click for me, then I could actually listen to their older songs with appreciation. Sometimes a good band takes a while to marinate in your brain before you can get it.

Amazing band I love that they do their own thing that album is my favorite if you haven't heard it you should
The first doubleneck Gibson SG (also red) was custom made for Jimmy Page so he could play Stairway to Heaven live. It was later put in regular production.
yo boy is right its a 6 and 12 string, I've seen Coheed a few times. Claudio is the main singer but guitarist and bassist help out

Best live performance for a rock band I've experienced and they weren't even headlining!

If you want just the Claudio experience, he did an acoustic version of Sentry the Defiant using a GoPro in his kitchen and that goes hard!
The Final Cut by Coheed And Cambira. Same album, just as epic. you guys will love it.
Really digging this!!
There is one song that has been ept on by coheed and cambria world of lines. I believe that they world appreciate the story of the song

Easily one of my favorite songs, good video! (I also want to take a second to remind you to react to Cradle of Filth’s cover of Mr Crowley ❤️)
You should give Shoulders by Coheed and Cambria a listen if you want something new to do from them.
They already did Ladders of Supremacy!
Love this band
YES!!! COHEEEEED
The Starland Ballroom DVD is a must watch from these guys!!!🤘❤

I love Coheed! Claudio is a genius.
Very unique sounding voice but a banger none the less.
Check out the drummer's side project, Weerd Science. He's a talented rapper, story teller style.
Who even knows how many kids picked up guitars in the 2000's because of these dudes... Time for Gibson to give Claudio a signature E2 Explorer
Back from a nasty tooth infection, 😋. This one the first song on guitar hero I didn't know, that I learned to play without looking at the TV screen lmao.
Please please please do Weight of sound by stick figure
NXT, Baby!
The full version is even better ☺ in fact, the album is a perfect album imo
You guys should do Parkway Drive - wild eyes….the live version is awesome! (Live at wacken)
Gotta watch guitar center live sessions version
the moment you notice the rift is the tetris song
i love me some coheed reactions, but this is the most overplayed song they have lol. I guess every react channel has to do this song once heh. The Crowing is amazing

An even better video that I would recommend watching is the USC Marching Band covering this song.
Number City definitely has a cool groove to it. I think you’d get a kick out of it.
React to “Old Flames”!
Listen to their song The Suffering, it’s way different, their style is kinda all over the place. The video is awesome too.
Only band I listen to for 10 years. Their stuff is so varied. Get involved guys. Great video.
Gotta do their song the liars club!!!
It’s so they can play a lot of different tuned cords
Coheed and Cambria -
The Dark Sentencer
The Gutter
Gravity's Union
The Crowing
Both are guitars. Bottom is a reg 6 string. Top is 12 string God tier guitar. All hail Claudio
The Kashmir of the 2000s
You guys should check out Sacred Reich: "Surf Nicaragua"!! 🤘😈🔥

he(?) sounds like the singer of Rush!?..
Daughters of the Night by Nocturna. Imagine if Nightwish and Dragonforce had a baby and that baby was a vampire.
They all sing. Claude sings the main
Could you please do " backbreaker" by fit for a king🙂
If you want more Coheed chants listen to In keeping secrets of silent earth.
4:45 if you guys are waiting for the actual video to start
Word of Advice: Try to skip the Music videos for Coheed cuz they are often the radio edits. The radio edits chop off like a full minute of the song lol
