You could do direct compare with BenQ or other monitor to see the difference in colors etc. I am still with "2K" monitor and would only upgrade to 4K HDR10+ monitor in the future.
The owner of the monitor doesn't let me take it home to try :D also my BenQ is a few years old so it wouldnt be the fair comparisson, I currently have a 2k and a 4k display both 27

Hi, it all depends on what you use the monitor for, if you watch a lot of let's say Netflix movies, the improved blacks are definitely a plus with that being said, I didn't notice a huge difference but you do notice some, if you use it mostly for work I would go for a normal IPS, now if you use a lot of interactive content it may pay off in the long run if you know what I mean, also the monitor is brand new and I believe price will drop in the next few weeks, this monitor and the 27 are the first ones with IPS black coming to market so they probably took some advantage there, with that being said the Panel is LG so I'm assuming LG will release their monitor soon enough which can make the price of this monitor drop a bit.

Great review! I haven't seen it but I think U3223QE may be the best 4k monitor under $1500 in 2022. I'm not buying it this year because I game causually. But, if Dell can add 120hz next year, then it will be the perfect monitor.
I am debating with myself. Get this for around 950 euros, or go all in for the new LG Oled TV 42 inch C2? The latter would come in at around 1400-1500 euros.
Thats a though one the issue i have with the oled is the burning, if you are going to use it as a desktop machine you might have the menu bars too long on the screen or the icons, i know oleds are getting better and those colors are mindblowing but this would be a concern of mine, apart from that and to ve very honest I would go for the C2, but all depends on the amount of hours I would plan to put on it.
@@PedroKin The oled performance is what draws me to it. They have improved greatly regarding the burn in issue, to the point I would not worry about it. It is a huge plus to have the oled for media consumption, and on the other hand the 120hz will come in handy for gaming. I believe it is worth the price tag, I am only afraid that 42 inches are going to be a bit overwhelming.
It all depends on what you really do, lets say if you are playing is not much different then if you had a console, if you edit you will have amazing real estate to work around, might feel big at thebl start but I somehow feel younwill get used to it pretty quickly ;)

Do you need to have power brick from your laptop plugged into the monitor? Or is the power connector for the monitor all that is needed to charge your macbook or windows laptop when you plug into the usb c?
It should be enough at least with the M1 with the m1 pro and max im not sure as they have the magsafe for charging and i dont have one to try, if your laptop is charged by USB C it should work
Really? Might have been that model the one i tried it has some light bleed but minimum, was not able to film it and it really depend on what you were watching
@@PedroKin mine had huge white areas that start from each corner and cover like 20 percent of the screen. They form a cross in the middle of the screen which is noticeable even on the white background. Also, there were some small areas of white on the edges. I checked forums and saw that some examples have the same amount of white, some have a bit lower, but all of posted pictures were not good enough.

The one I got has a yellow tint dunno if I am used to blue or if it's too yellow. White look yellowish. This even after turning off True Tone. Using with m1 MacBook Pro.
Hello Pedro, cool video congratulation, Perhaps you can help. I use an eGPU with a MacBook Pro. The Graphics Card from the eGPU is directly connected to the Monitor via DP. Then the EGPU is connected to the MacBook Pro via Thunderbolt Cable. All works fine. Except that when I try to link both MacBook Pro and the Display to take advantage of the Hub there is no active connection therefore the RJ45 and other USB Ports are not performing. I wonder if I really need a proper USB-C cable since I have plenty of Thunderbolts.
You have to set up the KVM switch. In the setting choose which usb-C port is used for data input. Page 66 dl.dell.com/content/manual12003775-dell-u3223qe-monitor-user-s-guide.pdf?language=en-us It always paired to the currently used video port so video goes through DP and data goes through the paired usb-C port, both have to be connected

Hi Deniz, I haven't tried it but all monitors should work standalone I don't see any difference of that or using a playstation or an xbox on a monitor which many people do, so I don't see why not.

From my experience thete is always one main and usually is displayport if you dont select it manually, but i dont rewlly have a the chance to try but my monitors at home all default for DP first and then the rest

Most modern laptops claim to output 2x 4k, but it could be tricky. Some only works so with a hub or docking station. Some requires the laptop own display disabled in a very specific way.
I personally use 27 but i prefer bigger, with my camera having 62mp is nice to have a bigger screen to see more of your work, of course this is all personal preference :)

@@PedroKin clarification and more findings MBP 15 2017 does work at 4k@60hz on USB C but, with the settings on priority image quality, that set the hub on USB 2.0 and the Eth network in slow speed If you set up on priority date, the hub works Great but on 4k@30hz. Same behaviour with a MBP 16 2019 with Monterrey. Basically 2 issues, first one Apple is not supporting display Port protocols completely is a partial implementation, also there almost not documentacion about 1,2 or 1,4 version supported by laptop model/year 1,4 is needed if you want the hub goodies Also, I tried HDMI by a usb dongle Apple's original that promeses 4k@60hz and did not worked only 30hz So, my last try will be a USB C to display Port (full size) and a usb for data, and also the battery..... So.... A nightmare compared to just 1 cable as supposed Shitty external screen support from Apple, and poor implementation from Dell lacking Thunderbolt in an 1k+ screen .... I'm considering on return it.... The image quality is amazing fair to mention.
I have this one, a bit disappointed. Using with MBP 2019 AMD graphic card is not really smooth, without HDR enabled on the monitor it gives only 30Hz, with 2021 M1 Max a bit better, but still, the text is blurry and the picture on moving parts look like the panel has issues with rendering. Even on Pedro's head. Settings are for 'best quality, dunno. Comes from Benq PD2700U which was brilliant. I'm a software developer, so working with text mostly.

I've just returned my U3223QE. Design is great, but backlight bleeding is insane. The worst bleeding I've ever seen.

Well it really depends of the laptop, you might not be able to charge over the usb C, what is the watts output of the charger?

I'm sure you know by now- no internal speakers on this one. Just like a flat screen TV, they'd sound like crap anyway. Get some decent 2-way speakers.

Yeah i guess with the release of the M1 they neglected the old mac versions, the M1 works with one cable as it is suppose too

I will check it out the mac I used is the M1 so i cant really say how it is with others
