Good review and lines up with mostly what I've discovered, since using this monitor from September 2022 - it has its pros and cons, mostly pros. My opinion is from the perspective of a corporate spreadsheet and word doc worker, and personal use on my Mac for RUclips and web browsing. I have both Windows work laptop, and personal MacBook Air m2, so chose this monitor to "wear two hats", it was a difficult process as I don't like dual monitor set-ups. For work, and spreadsheets its fantastic with heaps of extra columns and rows; however MacBooks don't work well with 1440p (2K) and plain horrible (2K is fine for windows MS word and excel - I used a U2520D) - so it forced me to this 4K. The factory stand is an improvement to the previous generation Ultrasharps with much improved height, however the base plate is the size of a dinner plate and takes up a lot of space, but I was always going to have it on a monitor arm. Tonnes of ports, but awkward to plug in things as the reviewer mentioned. It doesnt handle glare too well, but don't know what monitors do. For daily grind workflow, sometimes I need a second monitor as the 16:9 aspect ratio doesn't quite do it for spreadsheets, but is great for word docs - you can have 3x A4 size at 100%. In summary, I probably should've gone for the stablemate U2723QW as I would've got a better res with PPI of 160, instead of PPI 140 (which would be better for my Mac).
Just like always, I watch even more reviews of a product after I've bought it. I've had the 27 inch version for about a month, and I think this review is spot on. I love the monitor so far, but I don't game on it either.
Just got this monitor as a Christmas present to myself. It was a long overdue upgrade from my ancient U2711. Still haven't got to grips with all the settings and i am planning to do a color calibration, i just hope my equally ancient spyder 3 will do the job. I have dialed brightness and contrast down to 60% since it is very bright for my eyes at the default 75%. Picture quality is very very good. A small complain i have is that when i use the Dell display manager to split the screen in smaller windows, it does not take into account that i have my windows taskbar on the top of the screen, and it leaves a space on the bottom and hides some space from the top of the window. Also, the provided usb cable to be connected to the upstream usb-c port is short at 1m, and i had to bring my pc awkwardly close to the monitor. Dell says that a longer cable will not work as intented?
Great review! I'm looking for a 32" 4k monitor for photo editing and feeling overwhelmed with options (first world problems!). Would you recommend this or the BenQ PD3225u / Asus ProArt PA32UCR? Thanks!
Thank you for the review. Could you please mention your opinion on multimedia consumption use cases? I'm am going to use it mostly for programming, reading books and papers and watching movies in high quality. Do you recommend this monitor for these purposes ? If not what do you suggest? I really appreciate your comment.
For movies, color sensitive work and coding this monitor will do great! However for games and fast motion content the 60fps can be limiting for many users.
I like the two ports facing down, I would prefer front right but left is fine. Either way, I much prefer having these two ports on the base than the back as Its much harder to get the leverage and angle with your arm and hand coming from the front of the screen.
Really great review. They help much more than you know. I have a question. I'm looking to get rid of the two monitor setup and I'm trying to decide between the 32 or 42 inch version. I don't game but since my office doubles as guess room I'm planning to connect an Apple TV to it for occasional tv watching. Would this monitor be able to handle that?
I'm trying to decide between 32 and 43 as well. Think I'm going with the 43 due to work, although I wish it had as high of ppi as the 32. I'm assuming you resolved your question, but at least the 43 doesn't have hdr, which may detract from the movie / tv experience. But it may still be good.
Thank you for the review. One suggestion for next monitor reviews: the light above the monitor prevents me as the viewer from gauging how deep the black is, uniformity across the screen, etc. Since it's mounted there, it also prevents me from clearly seeing the entire monitor face, including all edges, without anything covering it. Please at least have shots without the light. Thanks again!
Im interested in the 43" version about $850. Now using 34" ultrawide LG. I didn't see an LG that was like this, using a Macbook pro or may add a Mac Studio. I don't do any gaming. Photo/video and text. How is the text on this? Was comparing to the LG43UN70T-B about half the price of this.
I'm not a gamer either and want to know if this is Mac friendly! Literally using it for music production and video editing, content creation along with some productivity! How has it been so far? I'm thinking to purchase this week and return the latest Alienware 32" curved gamer monitor still in the box for $1299😬 Did you get it? How is it?

@@milchomarkov8158 cuz it's buttery smooth?
@@stephangauthier911 and you need buttery smooth for photo editing because?
@@milchomarkov8158 because its nice? Cell phones have 120hz screens now and we dont all game on them.
Like the higher refresh rate stuff was exclusive to gamers lol
Can this charge laptops thru the usb c port?
It can deliver up to 90W so virtually any laptop that's on the market these days.
It has a build-in docking station (that's what it's called in enterprise environment, on the outside known as "KVM") which, for Dell laptops, goes for nearly $200
@@mando1337 thanks
$1,150 USD!!! WOW, it only cost $687 USD from Dell, where I live.
Great deal, the monitor is now over 2 years old. I'd expect pricing to come down for sure.
@@SoulOfTech I've had my eye on it for about a year, but I've don't do as much production work as I used to. I'm glad that I waited. I was going to buy a 27", but the 32 will probably work better for my set up.
Cheers! Your review helped me to make my decision
@@theorncampbell4432did you get the monitor how is it?
@@NnennasMoonlightAfroFolktales I'm beyond happy with the 3223 model. I have a Dell Latitude and a Maxed out intel Mac connected to it. All of the work for my day job is on the Dell and everything else is pushed through the Mac. KVM is flawless, as is simply switching the input between the two, The hub is very useful and I have every connectivity option that I need. I haven't tried any true High dynamic range content, but the 4k is impressive, color profiles are perfect, non-blue light is an eye saver and editing video/photo and audio on it has completely augmented ease of use and overall user experience for me. I HIGHLY recommend this monitor for content creation and productivity. If you are trying to decide between 27" and 32", I think the 32" provides a much better experience.
@@theorncampbell4432 great! Thanks for the response I will look into it.
I heard nothing negative... unlikely this is the case after a year. Hardly a critical analysis
I cannot force a negative review anymore than I can force a positive one. Btw Im still using this monitor :)
What is that lamp you have on top of the monitor?
Hey, that’s the BENQ monitor light. You can also find a link in the video description for it
@@SoulOfTech 🙏 thanks
