I just want to take a moment and admire how amazingly talented you are at communicating. There's a lot of RUclipsrs that aren't good at talking, and that's 100% okey. I'm just think it's cool that you didn't use any Cuts in this video. Which means you did this all in one take with no mistakes. And I just feel like that Talent is going to be tragically underlooked.
This was so helpful. I learned a lot and you provided exactly the type of information that I, as a designer, was looking for. Thank you very much for your detailed review!
This was quite helpful. I am now better positioned to shortlist and decide on a monitor upgrade for the purpose of RUclips video production as well as some photo edits and graphic works.
Love your videos. So clear but packed with a ton of information. I'm a hobbiest photographer and the BenQ PD2706U seems to fit my needs and budget. Would appreciate a comment on how the new MA270U might fit here. Only a few $ difference and the specs are very similar. The nature of the MA branding suggests this model is more for general use? Which would you go with for photo editing use? Thanks
What a nice, informative video. I'm currently upgrading from 32" to 27" displays. I went with the PD2705Q. However I agonized for a few days between the PD270Q and the GW2790QT. The GW2790QT is marketed as the "coding display" which is what I do mostly. I like the lower price and the higher brightness and refresh rate, but it seems to only come in white which doesn't fit the aesthetic of my setup. I made a spreadsheet which lets me easily see the technical differences between these two displays, but can you elaborate a little about the "real world" differences?
@@NPSvideo678 I like it a lot. I looked at the specs for the PD2506Q and entered that into my spreadsheet. The PD2506Q and PD270Q are mostly alike with the main obvious difference being the size: 25" vs 27". Also the PD2705Q has brightness intelligence.
PD line are for designers & creatives. BenQ will put more effort in calibrating these display at the factory for color accuracy. They will also come with more color mode that are more in line with creative workflow as well. GW series is an office display, they will get calibrated but not to the extent of the PD line
Just curious why did you go from 32” to 27”. I am in the opposite situation. I have a 27” and thinking about getting a 32”. Your insight is appreciated. Thanks.
@@Classical416 1440p displays at native resolution display exactly the same amount of content regardless of size (32" or 27") The 32" displays were difficult to see around. The 27" display size is plenty big enough for me. I'm using the IKEA Karlby as a desk which has a 25" depth so that does place the displays closer to me. I wanted to see around them more easily since my desk faces a window and door that look out onto my driveway and the street. I just got a M1 Max MacBook Pro and it wants to output at 1080p to my 1440p BenQ for some reason, but that's another issue.
Dear Art… a big fan of your detailed reviews! I am in the fence about buying the BenQ 3205U … and I read about people commenting on low brightness for this model . Specs says 250 nits which is less than what some of the other companies offering at this price. In your review here you said 250 nits is not a problem. Can you pls help with some explanation? Won’t the screen look dull and darker on a bright room ? Many thanks !!
Because if you use the display for pro creative workflow 250 nits is way too bright. Most creaive descipline revolves around 80 - 160 nits. Most just look at specs and thinks that higher is better, but if you don't use or need it for the workflow, then it does not matter much. How bright is your room? It is more than enough for most room. And for creaive work - room should not be that bright.
Hey, just ran across your video and very informative. By any chance will you be doing a review on the GW series? Oh, I'm also in school for Coding. Thought I'd throw that out there.
Thank you for the very informative comparison of BenQ monitors. I'm looking for a dual monitor setup for my MacBook Pro M2 but primarily will use for Zoom and MS Office. 2K may be fine. I've not been able to find the 4K PD2706U on Amazon or any other sites. Only the PD2706UA version and the PD2705U monitor.
Hello Sir, Great video 👌 Epic Channel 😃 Congratulations. I really need your opinion: I'm interested in buying the BenQ PD2705U monitor, what do you think about this model, would it be a good buy? My fear and doubt is that it has 250 nits. Based on your experience, do you think 250 nits is enough? I'm going to use this monitor for web design, programming, and also for watching movies and shows. My office has a window that is usually open. The window is 4 meters away from the monitor. What is your opinion? Thanks in advence 👍
I just purchased a monitor direct from benQ today 23/11/23 (UK) and the prices were far better than anywhere else. Good discounts for Black Friday and free delivery, with 14 day returns. Nearly bought a used on via Amazon and then discovered it was more expensive than a new one.
Hi Art, I really enjoyed this video I'm particularly interested in the part about daisy-chaining monitors. I have a 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro and and a BenQ PD3205U monitor. In the video, you mentioned daisy-chaining the PD3220U. I was wondering if there's a way to daisy-chain two PD3205U monitors to my MacBook Pro without using a Thunderbolt dock. If you have any insights or workarounds, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks for your time and assistance.
You can daisy chain PD3220U and the updated PD3225U because they both use Thunderbolt connection PD3205U Uses USB C and there's no way to daisy chain that
HELP. I've just purchased PD2706U. The Contrast & Colour Temperature functions (under Color menu) cant't be selected and operated. Similary with Gama, Color Gamut, Hue, Saturation & Backlit Contol (under Advance under Control) are silent. What should i do to activate these function? Guide me please... please.
Thanks so much for this video. I'm currently shopping for a 2k display that supports daisy chaining via USB-C and still allows access to the USB -A ports. I was looking at the PD2506Q and PD2705Q but recent found the GW2790QT which appears to be newer. I'm using a dell latitude 5410, will I be able to run two of the GW2790QT or the others at full 2k resolution along with my laptop screen? The GW2790QT only has DP 1.2 but a better refresh rate and higher brightness.
Thanks for your videos. I always learn so much. I bought the BenQ PD3220U 32 inch after watching one of your video ages ago and now looking to get a monitor arm. Can you recommend any that will support the BenQ PD3220U 32 inch? Many thanks
Thanks for another in-depth review with clear information. I would like to know - Is it advisable to connect a 4K - 27'' Monitor to a Mac Book pro 14'' ( with screen resolution 3024 × 1964 ).... have heard and have also seen in your other video about how Mac OS scale up the display wondering if it really show me a 4K display or a 2K scaled-up, still not able to conclude...if you could help it will be great ! Thanks again
I just bought the EW2880U awaiting delivery tomorrow. Wish I watched this video before buying. BTW I will be using the monitor to do photo & video editing as a hobby with my Macbook Pro M2 Max. Will the EW2880U be good enough for my work? Thanks.
Been watching a lot of your videos recently. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm now looking for a 2K display (4k is too much for me i get lost) to pair with my new 16" macbook. I'm mainly a video editor in Davinci Resolve. I can see you recommend the higher tier 32" PD series, but they are out of my budget right now. I'm between a cheaper Samsung display or a slightly more expensive pro Asus, Benq, Viewsonic or Dell. Right now i have these options: 1. Asus ProArt PA278QV 2. BenQ PD2705Q. 3. Dell Ultrasharp U2722D 4. Viewsonic VP2756-2K 5. Dell UltraSharp U2520D 6. Asus ProArt PA278QV Would you recommend PD2705Q with 16" M1 Macbook?
Yes I would recommend PD2705Q with your computer. Personally, I would choose a BenQ over the other brands knowing how they calibrated the display from the factory.
how big is the upgrade in quality and pro level from a pd3200u to a sw321c ? i am a hobby photographer and videographer also do lot of writing and using this monitor for office use.
SW will have 99% Adobe RGB Gamut, which is important for printing and a matted coating. It also has hardware calibration. It is something to aspire to, they are all good
Hi Art, thank you for your incredible effort on your videos. Because of you, few days ago i just placed an order for a PD2706U to pair with my 2020 13" MBP M1 pumped up with some extra ram and storage (but planning to upgrade to an M3 PRO MBP), my main usage is digital photography (Photoshop and Lightroom Classic) and video editing/color grading (DAvinci resolve studio). and I can't wait to receive it (next Thursday). in the meantime, watching other videos on RUclips, I'm a little worried about the issue of resolution scalability on 27-inch monitors with Apple silicon, can you suggest a correct configuration for this monitor? thanks in advance, greetings from Rome Italy
"I'm a little worried about the issue of resolution scalability on 27-inch monitors with Apple silicon, can you suggest a correct configuration for this monitor?" Over blown issue based on people who does not necessary have the technical knowledge but like to make noise. Don't worry about it, I have been using 4K on Macs since 2017 and it is fine
@@andrewsauter8749 The monitor arrived yesterday and works perfectly, no scaling issues. I tested it thoroughly last night. Personally I use it in different resolutions, depending on the type of work I have to do: 4k if I watch streaming content (Netflix, Prime video and so on) in M-book color mode, the immediately lower resolution if instead i have to work on photo editing (Photoshop or Lightroom Classc) in sRGB color mode, or in REC709 color mode if I have to do video editing/color grading (Da Vinci Resolve Studio) These are the 3 color modes I have set on the puck). In 4k obviously all the writings are ILLEGIBLE, but, at least for me, at the immediately lower resolution (sorry but I don't remember that, I'm not in front of the monitor) I can read everything perfectly and I didn't notice any blurring in the writings. The only negative note are the speakers which are absolutely not sufficient (but the monitor was not designed for this) and in fact I immediately ordered a pair of Presonus Eris 3.5 gen2 (entry level studio monitors which fully satisfy my needs) A small, or rather large, side note: The manufacturer indicates an avg deltaE less than or equal to 3 for this model (PD2706U), my monitor has an avg deltaE of 1.19!!! At the endI, I am super satisfied, obviously for the quality of the monitor and considering this week on the official Benq online store I paid only 406,00 Euros for it! (at least here in Italy)
@@ArtIsRight Thanks for the response! I agree with you and also heard you mention this in some of your other reviews. I just bought the PD2725 after this reply of yours and I am very happy with it, and it has no scaling issues at all. Thanks for your excellent reviews 👍
Difference between pd2706u & pd2706ua is only ergoarm or anything else?? Is it best for video editing & little photo editing?? Height adjustment in pd2706 is ok??
I am in desperate need of some advice - I have purchased 2x PD2705U monitors and need to use them with a mac m3 2023, what's the best way to get a dual monitor display from the MacBook, what connections do i need and maybe a recommended dock, this may be a really basic question but i can't find any information. Thanks
M3 has display limitation similar to M1 and M2 of 2 displays total. In a laptop you already have one display, so you can only natively run 1 external. For you to run more you can get a dongle or a dock with DisplayLink, essentially it is a software display that enables you to have more display than allowed on your system.
Hi, i have found brand new sw271 monitor.would like to ask is it necessary,or must i calibrate the monitor with some colour checker or i can use it strait.(still not unboxed 😊). Ty
You can use it as is but custom calibration will get you the best color possible. Also do you have the SW271 or SW271C, the calibration software are different. For SW271 use Palette Master Element for SW271C use Palette Master Ultimate, you can search those guide for your OS on my channel
Hi Art, I cannot find the PD2706U (without the ergo arm) anywhere. Did BenQ discontinue this one? I don't need or want to deal with an ergo arm. I just want it to sit on my desk. Do you have a link where I can purchase the PD2706U without the ergo arm? Thank you for this video!
Hi there. Been looking at the BenQ monitors. I am just a hobbyist video editor. Just bought my first Mac M2 Max studio to handle the 4K video I record in. The PD2705u is the one I been considering. Only plan on a single monitor setup. Would this be a good choice for my needs?.......Thanks!
I’m looking for a the right monitor for video editing and color grading in Davinci and I’m using a Mac Studio M2 Ultra. What’s your recommendation Art?
Hi Art! Loved the video! I’m having a hard time choosing a monitor since it’s my first time and I would love to get your help on this topic. So I’m a graphic, web and motion designer and I do not play games at all, I will connect my monitor to the MacBook M1 Pro 16 inch and before I discovered BenQ PD2725U I was thinking of Dell U2723QE. I was also recommended to buy a BenQ PD2700U, so I’m now choosing between these three monitors. My main concerns are: 1. Color accuracy in designing for both Print (Graphic Design) and Web (Web & Motion Design); 2. Good connectivity to my MacBook and good quality & resizing. Thanks a lot in advance!
PD2725U for sure is going to get you the best bang for the buck. There may be some sales right now, but if you are in the US and would like a 10% off code, dm me
I just purchased a PD2705UA monitor along with an iMac 27 5k 2019. I see it very dark and in the color corrections I make, now I do them with the benq and not with the iMac they tell me that everything is very dark. It is true that the imac has more nits than the benq but in theory the benq would have to be more reliable to the iMac. What solution can there be so that my color work that I did in the imac, now in the benq is the same? Any kind of calibration? Thank you!
There are nit differences yes, iMac also has auto brightness, and etc that is turned on, where BenQ does not have this. The best thing that you can do is edit to a fixed brightness. I would look into getting a calibrite.com calibration device
@@ArtIsRight Maybe a good topic for a post would be "The Benefits of calibrating BenQ PD Series Prosumer monitors. I think it might even extend to non BenQ users.
Hi Art, I do graphic design and printing. I also do digital work. I am using M1 Air and will buy m3 pro soon. Is the pd2706ua ideal for my work? What is the difference between it and PD2705? SW is more expensive, is it worth buying?
I am trying to decide between the PD 3220U or PD 3205U. I will be using for print photography (Canon Pro 10) and web photography, web browsing, maybe casual movies. No gaming at all. I am a photography amateur. I will be using a 2022 M1 MacBook Pro. There is big price difference. I see differences is height adjustment, Adobe rgb, srgb, vs srgb only, 99% vs 100% color coverage and thunderbolt, usb-c vs usb-c only. Can you suggest which one to get? Can't really afford the SW models...the most concern I have is the ability for the USB-C to charge my MacBook vs Thunderbolt cable and the adobe rgb vs srgb for prints?
None of these models support Adobe RGB. Only the SW does, if you print SW is the more suitable model, I might look at the SW272Q which will match better color gamut wise and price point. It is something to consider. Otherwise, I would choose PD3220U, which can work for what you want to do but not necessary the best.
@@ArtIsRight Thanks for the reply. Would getting an SW model with Paper Color Sync be a smarter choice over the PD3220 for printing? Say the SW 321C? How well does that software work? Again thanks for answering my questions...
I feel like the PD range is in dire need of some updates and some higher end models. The PD3220u for example is not really good value for money considering the alternatives. If Benq made a 5k alternative to the Studio Display, in the same chassis as the PD2725U, priced the same as the LG 5k Ultrafine, they'd get a lot of orders!
Hii... I have choice of going between benq pd2705q and Asus proart pa278cv. I want USB c monitor for professional photography purpose... I am satisfied with benq except delta value less than 3 which is superior in Asus delta less than 2. Does it matter much?
All PD are generally going to come with ∆e below 2 anyways. with ∆e the lower the number the better. My opinion is that BenQ does a much more thorough calibration from the factory than other brands. It also offer various Uniformity technology as well that other don't offer.
They are not the same, the equivalent to the LG would be PD3220U that has thunderbolt. And about the nits, deeding on what you do, most really don't need anything that comes close to 400 nits in the daily workflow. I say overall BenQ calibrate their display more thoroughly at the factory but the choice is really up to you
Hi, purchased BenQ PD3220U last October for my design work based on your recommendation and review. I noticed that I’m getting screen flickers when i move the mouse to scroll through the page. This happens after the screen has been on for 2+ hrs. Flickers goes away after I shut off the computer for a few hours. But if I out the computer in sleep mode and turn the monitor off the flickers remain. Any thoughts and recommendations? Thx 🙏
MPB only goes up to M1 Max, Ultra is in desktop only. Either way USB-C should been ok. Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect the cable again once this happens?
If the resolution is the same, you will get exactly the same amount of screen space. They will display exactly the same amount of things. If space on your desk is a concern, the 27" will (obviously) be just a little smaller, but I find it's just as readable. (I had 32" LG displays for a while. But my desk is only 25" deep, so I'm upgrading to the BenQ PD270Q.)
that is a variable answer, the question then is how accurate are MacBook displays to start out with and the answers to this varies based on the testing parameter and what one is looking for. Simply put there's a Mbook Color mode in most of these displays will match the color closely to MacBook displays.
I wish benq sold a durable case for transport of the monitors. i keep my box for the pd3420(i think thats it) for when it needs to be moved but wish i had like a coroplast or water proof case. I'm actually planning of using filament tape and spray adhesive (like a Cyanoacrylate type) to make the box durable enough for if the monitor needs to be moved. also a very large eink display or some sort of 'reading/writing/coding display' i dont see anywhere for consumers.
@artisright Hey Art, been a long time since last time, i commented here with an idea, to clear confusion with explanation of BENQ monitor line up, H/W - S/W caliberation etc. I guess, finally time arrives for me to pull the trigger for Benq. I have question, need your opinion regarding my video editing workstation(Windows) with 3ft Depth on table, ( Desk Size : 65 x 36 inch) . i am using one LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor already, Benq would be 2nd for color grading etc ( for one man band and his craftmanship) in Davinci Resolve, (and some time Adobe AE too) and my most work is for Digital Consumption. ( not theatre for now) PD3420Q VS PD3220U Budget is limted. Which of the above would be more suitable/efficient for me to go with? Your opinion matters in decision making. Thanks in advance. And yes, Special Thanks for clear communication and education of this display in this confusing world. Talking to the point and Specs sheet, the way Product Market communication happens, tells a lot. ( i am looking at LG, they always make people confuse while looking at Display spec sheet.) Benq website is much clear and better now.
Which LG34" Do you have, this question is leading to resolution. Either of the BenQ will be great for what you do. The question is do you need 4K, if so PD3220U. If not then PD3420Q is still a contender. Now what is the resolution or rather PPI of your LG, getting another display that matches or come close might help with windows interface zoom and etc, as well this way both can be kept at the same percent. Hope this helps
Build quality all about the same, many of them technically comes from the same factory. The variation is really in the calibration at the factory and I can tell you that BenQ is much more rigorous than the rest.
@@ArtIsRight Thank you so much!!! I am having hard times choosing a monitor, which I will use mainly for graphic design... My budget is not very big that's why I am leaning towards one of those...I'll probably go with the BenQ brand.

What's difference between colour gamut and colour mode? Thank you for your time
1. probably not 2. REC 709, you can choose P3 but there are 2 standard 1 for display aka Display P3 and the other for digital cinema DCI-P3. Most people talk about P3 as if they are the same and choose DCI-P3 because it is catchy, but yet the final footage is viewed on screen with Display P3. And then the comments about color not matching well would rolled in. 3. If you don't have a device, don't calibrate, your eyes and the visual guide they walk you through to do the calibration is your worse enemy. Decklink is not necessary unless you are doing board cast. 4. They don't list that but it is coved, They are the same really, just one for video the other for stills, slightly different gamma. Color mode is a selection on the monitor that allows you to choose the pre-calibrated factory color gamut.

Great info the PD lineup and I believe the SW271C, SW321C or the PV series will meet my needs for Photography. My only concern is that the monitors don’t have the Eye Care feature for the blue light concerns. I am in my 60’s so eye protection is very important and could explain why it’s not included ? I work on a stand up desk 60”x25” and not sure on the best size and the difference in the type set viewing that I have read about. I would appreciate and advice on these concerns on monitor choice. Great videos on all the topics and I appreciated your help in choosing my MacBook Pro Max.
" My only concern is that the monitors don’t have the Eye Care feature for the blue light concerns. " Blue light can effect color perception. I would give a proper calibration a try and see how you feel before concerning about the lack of eye care. The best size display would not depend on your desk size but rather how far you sit from it. I would recommend looking at a 32" based on what you tell me.
@@ArtIsRight Are you saying to accept the Blue Light issue and make sure the monitor is calibrated to limit the Blue Light exposure to our eyes? Currently, I use the Blue Light protection screens/glasses with a protective coatings. Are you saying they shouldn’t be used when editing in order to see blue wave length? Currently, I have protective glasses and a screen on my MacBook to reduce the Blue Light. I have read one should do the following to limit eye strain- warm light color, no fluorescent/LED light bulbs, increase contrast on the screen. Don’t understand why BenQ would offer Eye Car in the lower level monitors, but not in the Professional line with more time in front of a monitor.
@@mikedavis1110 I didn't say that, all I said was to give it a try first. WIth calibration and without calibration there's a variation in blue light output. I can't speak on your behalf that is what I said to try. Also a solution for your use may be to use the newer SW with the blue light filter, this can be a solution if you feel that without is not acceptable. And if you use a filter and it works for your editing workflow, more power to you.
@@ArtIsRight I understood your comment “Blue Light can effect color perception.” as without the blue light aspect the image wouldn’t look right. Hence, wearing blue light glasses or using a screen filter would give an incorrect image in color. Yet the BenQ website strongly endorses their blue light blocking technology, yet in the professional SW series it doesn’t seem to be mentioned, as in the entry level monitors. If using a screen filter or blue blocking glasses would you recommend increasing the luminance value from 80? Would adding a screen bar help in eye strain or does the hood prevent adding the light or would it fit through the calibration door ?
@@mikedavis1110 "Yet the BenQ website strongly endorses their blue light blocking technology, yet in the professional SW series it doesn’t seem to be mentioned, as in the entry level monitors." That is more marketing things for their office daily use display. Usually blue light filter for displays are filtering out wave length that we may not be able to directly perceived visually but can cause eye strain. This is really more for office displays because of documents, white pages all day long or white background which sends out a lot of blue. Again different for photo display in some way, use case would be one. "If using a screen filter or blue blocking glasses would you recommend increasing the luminance value from 80?" Not necessary, if it works at 80 for what you do, keep it. If you notice that the display is too dimmed or your print out are brighter than the display then yes but otherwise I would leave it. "Would adding a screen bar help in eye strain or does the hood prevent adding the light or would it fit through the calibration door ?" Screen bar sadly does not play nice with the hood. Does it help with eyestrain, it all depends, if you work in a totally dark area then the screen bar can offer ambient light which does help. But if you are in a fairly lit room already it may not do much.
@@ArtIsRight One day! Feel like we've still got so far to go in upping display quality etc. I'm putting off buying a good display until I can get something with a bit of everything under the £1000 mark. Wish the EU would put minimum standards on display quality haha!
That is a blanket statement. I would look at the specific models because each can have a different policy. Also their customer service world wide is good and can be accommodating as long as one is not a total jerks calling in.

I'm just think it's cool that you didn't use any Cuts in this video. Which means you did this all in one take with no mistakes. And I just feel like that Talent is going to be tragically underlooked.
Thank you so much 😊
You are so amazing with your knowledge, understanding and how you deliver. Thank you so much. God bless you!!!
Can you daisy chain 2 3295u monitors
This was so helpful. I learned a lot and you provided exactly the type of information that I, as a designer, was looking for. Thank you very much for your detailed review!
Very clear and thorough review. I know next to nothing about displays etc and I found this very useful. Many thanks
You are welcome!

Thank you!
This is very thorough. Awesome!
You really deserve more subscribe.
Wow, thank you!
This was quite helpful. I am now better positioned to shortlist and decide on a monitor upgrade for the purpose of RUclips video production as well as some photo edits and graphic works.
Nice!
Amazing and super detailed review and comparison!
Thanks so much!
Wowzer from Kent. Thanks for the review Art. As always, top shelf.
Thanks 👍
Love your videos. So clear but packed with a ton of information. I'm a hobbiest photographer and the BenQ PD2706U seems to fit my needs and budget. Would appreciate a comment on how the new MA270U might fit here. Only a few $ difference and the specs are very similar. The nature of the MA branding suggests this model is more for general use? Which would you go with for photo editing use? Thanks
Thank you. Very helpful in making the right model purchase.
You bet!
Please let me know how you're liking the PD2705Q. I'm debating between that one and the PD2506Q.
Thank you, that was informative
Very welcome
Thanks for answering the question I had!
Any time!
Please make a similar video for Asus ProArt series as well. Thank you.
Only for BenQ :D
Just bought the PD2725U after this video. Thank you 🎉
Hey, just ran across your video and very informative. By any chance will you be doing a review on the GW series?
Oh, I'm also in school for Coding. Thought I'd throw that out there.
not GW only Pro Display series. thank you!
PD2706U will be available at a later date based on my understand. And yes for your needs 2K would work just fine.
Will you do the same comparison for the SW series?
Probably, when I get it in hand
Hello Sir,
Great video 👌 Epic Channel 😃 Congratulations.
It is a good display, and 250 nits is enough for most usage.
@@ArtIsRightThank you very much. Super video. Super person. 👌 Best regards 😀
I just purchased a monitor direct from benQ today 23/11/23 (UK) and the prices were far better than anywhere else. Good discounts for Black Friday and free delivery, with 14 day returns. Nearly bought a used on via Amazon and then discovered it was more expensive than a new one.
nice!
Great content. Im still waiting for the PD3205U review! Looking forward to this one.

The big question I have is, Pd2705U or Pd2705Q what's the best for an mac min m2pro ? I'll use it for photography

Hi Art,
I really enjoyed this video I'm particularly interested in the part about daisy-chaining monitors.
You can daisy chain PD3220U and the updated PD3225U because they both use Thunderbolt connection
PD3205U Uses USB C and there's no way to daisy chain that
sw vs pd 10:30 is best for me.
10:57 pricing at time of filming.
Thanks!

GW and PD are different product line with difference needs.
Thanks for your videos. I always learn so much. I bought the BenQ PD3220U 32 inch after watching one of your video ages ago and now looking to get a monitor arm. Can you recommend any that will support the BenQ PD3220U 32 inch? Many thanks
I would look on Amazon for any Vesa Mount Compatible Arm with the ergonomics that you need.

Yes your computer will do just fine, apple SoC are super powerful now and it also has a display engine that help with the heavy lifting.

I just bought the EW2880U awaiting delivery tomorrow. Wish I watched this video before buying. BTW I will be using the monitor to do photo & video editing as a hobby with my Macbook Pro M2 Max. Will the EW2880U be good enough for my work? Thanks.
it will work but any display will also work, I would return it and get the PD or for the best, get SW line
Right now i have these options:
1. Asus ProArt PA278QV
2. BenQ PD2705Q.
3. Dell Ultrasharp U2722D
4. Viewsonic VP2756-2K
5. Dell UltraSharp U2520D
6. Asus ProArt PA278QV
Would you recommend PD2705Q with 16" M1 Macbook?
Yes I would recommend PD2705Q with your computer. Personally, I would choose a BenQ over the other brands knowing how they calibrated the display from the factory.
@@ArtIsRight Thanks for your reply, I guess is BenQ ftw?
how big is the upgrade in quality and pro level from a pd3200u to a sw321c ? i am a hobby photographer and videographer also do lot of writing and using this monitor for office use.
SW will have 99% Adobe RGB Gamut, which is important for printing and a matted coating. It also has hardware calibration. It is something to aspire to, they are all good
thank you very well presented.
Thank You!
Hi, did you find out about the scaling issue? I am also a bit concerned about it.
"I'm a little worried about the issue of resolution scalability on 27-inch monitors with Apple silicon, can you suggest a correct configuration for this monitor?"
Over blown issue based on people who does not necessary have the technical knowledge but like to make noise.
The only negative note are the speakers which are absolutely not sufficient (but the monitor was not designed for this) and in fact I immediately ordered a pair of Presonus Eris 3.5 gen2 (entry level studio monitors which fully satisfy my needs)
A small, or rather large, side note: The manufacturer indicates an avg deltaE less than or equal to 3 for this model (PD2706U), my monitor has an avg deltaE of 1.19!!!
Yes, Ergo Arm Only. Video editing and photo, yes.
For SW271 use Palette Master Element for SW271C use Palette Master Ultimate, you can search those guide for your OS on my channel
what is the best monitor for color grading on a budget?
Any 4K PD that you can afford
Hi Art, I cannot find the PD2706U (without the ergo arm) anywhere. Did BenQ discontinue this one? I don't need or want to deal with an ergo arm. I just want it to sit on my desk. Do you have a link where I can purchase the PD2706U without the ergo arm? Thank you for this video!
I believe that model may have not officially launched in the US yet. Dm me or email me and I'll see what info I can find for you.
Yes that is a good one for video. If you want to pay a bit you can get the PD2706U that has higher P3 gamut coverage.
Thanks, I'll check that out.@@ArtIsRight
I’m looking for a the right monitor for video editing and color grading in Davinci and I’m using a Mac Studio M2 Ultra. What’s your recommendation Art?
Either PD or the best would be any SW line
@@ArtIsRight thanks for that buddy. Also the PD3220U. Can that be calibrated using Pallete master or is it only for SW series?
Hi,
Is there no 32 inch version for the PD2706 model available or upcoming ?
Thanks!
Not at the moment....
The closest in color gamut would be PD3220U, but then that is a flagship model.
My main concerns are:
1. Color accuracy in designing for both Print (Graphic Design) and Web (Web & Motion Design);
Hello Art, for calibration of the PD2706U models, will we see any significant benefit from recalibration or just use them as is out the box?
It depends on the workflow and what you do. I'm always for calibration, however, everyone workflow is different
@@ArtIsRight Maybe a good topic for a post would be "The Benefits of calibrating BenQ PD Series Prosumer monitors. I think it might even extend to non BenQ users.

Is this because The PD-3206U is coming ? 😊
Why 06 cang be dasychained while 05 can when they both have the same resolution?
05 and 06 can NOT be daisy chain, only the 2725 can with Thunderbolt
@ArtIsRight thanks... but i cant believe it, really
May I ask the PD3220U can be connect to PC via HDMI? Its not just for MAC?
yes, they are universal
Hi Art, I do graphic design and printing. I also do digital work. I am using M1 Air and will buy m3 pro soon. Is the pd2706ua ideal for my work? What is the difference between it and PD2705? SW is more expensive, is it worth buying?
Yes, color gamut coverage, 06 is 90%+ P3, 05 is just 99%sRGB
You can but it is not necessary. Paper Color Sync is a beginner features one that is not necessary
I can see that point of view, but I would not go as far as must. We'll see...
LG 32UN880 or Benq PD3205U, Lg seems to have DCI-P3 95% and more brightness 350, please suggest which one to pick?
Thx 🙏
What computer are you using this with, desktop/laptop, os version etc, what connection cable are you using? Did you custom calibrate your display?
@@ArtIsRight Mac book pro M1 ultra with latest OS. Using USB-C cable for connection. Never custom calibrated the monitor. All stock.

I can't decide between 27 or 32 inch display to pair with mac studio.
I personally prefer the 32"
If the resolution is the same, you will get exactly the same amount of screen space. They will display exactly the same amount of things. If space on your desk is a concern, the 27" will (obviously) be just a little smaller, but I find it's just as readable. (I had 32" LG displays for a while. But my desk is only 25" deep, so I'm upgrading to the BenQ PD270Q.)
@@gregorymoore2877so I guess you are saying the 32 is too big and too close to your eyes?
Wow man you blowing my mind how do you speak like that flowing? Wow just wow.

How accurate is the color callibrated compare to macbook monitor?
that is a variable answer, the question then is how accurate are MacBook displays to start out with and the answers to this varies based on the testing parameter and what one is looking for. Simply put there's a Mbook Color mode in most of these displays will match the color closely to MacBook displays.
@@ArtIsRightdo you have any recommendation monitor for Mac Studio M2 Max? Let's say from the mid to high budget
Pelican or other cases of similar quality would suffice.
( not theatre for now)
PD3420Q VS PD3220U
Budget is limted.
Which one is better in terms of build quality- BenQ's PD line, the ASUS ProArt series or Dell Ultrasharp?
Build quality all about the same, many of them technically comes from the same factory. The variation is really in the calibration at the factory and I can tell you that BenQ is much more rigorous than the rest.

@@ArtIsRight Benq PD2706U or Benq SW240 which one should I buy? Benq PD2700Q or PD2506Q will be sufficient?
My USES: Editing and Colour grading 10bit s-log3 4k footage for youtube and ott.
Kindly decide a monitor for me.
You mentioned "Board Cast"....I could not find any info in the literature. What is this as it relates to editing videos ? Do you mean "Broadcast" or TV work....creating videos for broadcast delivery for the Final output ?
You have switched the pd3205u and the pd3205ua in the thumbnail
Thanks for catching that! :)
Sir i am all ready purchase PD2705UA
Work in a wedding video editor

I am using M2pro mac mini

What do you mean by "Monitor calibration time?"
Please elaborate more. When you do please post a new comment. I don't see reply
So if you dont care about the size, the 27 inch PD2706UA is th ebest deal

I calibrate my benq270 but my black look waste out back point I set 0.5
Need more data, 270, do you mean SW270C? Also what device did you use to calibrate, based on the information you gave, I am guessing you are using PME? Mac, PC, desktop, laptop, cable used to connect display to computer etc.
@@ArtIsRight sw 271 ..I set my back point 0.5 and I try 0.3 ..back look waste out ..I am using davinci resolve...rec 709..what is best option sir back should look back
What other settings are you using In PME? This will probably require a bit of back and forth. Faster to dm me on fb page or insta

"Yet the BenQ website strongly endorses their blue light blocking technology, yet in the professional SW series it doesn’t seem to be mentioned, as in the entry level monitors."
That is more marketing things for their office daily use display. Usually blue light filter for displays are filtering out wave length that we may not be able to directly perceived visually but can cause eye strain. This is really more for office displays because of documents, white pages all day long or white background which sends out a lot of blue. Again different for photo display in some way, use case would be one.
"If using a screen filter or blue blocking glasses would you recommend increasing the luminance value from 80?"
Not necessary, if it works at 80 for what you do, keep it. If you notice that the display is too dimmed or your print out are brighter than the display then yes but otherwise I would leave it.
"Would adding a screen bar help in eye strain or does the hood prevent adding the light or would it fit through the calibration door ?"
Screen bar sadly does not play nice with the hood. Does it help with eyestrain, it all depends, if you work in a totally dark area then the screen bar can offer ambient light which does help. But if you are in a fairly lit room already it may not do much.
I wish their PD/SW monitors were capable of 75Hz-100Hz..
I hear you
no true 10bit panels :( Really hoping for beyond 10bit 5K 100% Adobe RGB / 2020
There's really no true 10 bit 5K on the consumer level with 99% + Adobe RGB or 2020
@@ArtIsRight One day! Feel like we've still got so far to go in upping display quality etc. I'm putting off buying a good display until I can get something with a bit of everything under the £1000 mark. Wish the EU would put minimum standards on display quality haha!
The bild in Speaker - are a joke
I tend to agree
Be careful with Benq dead pixel policy.
Benq guarantee is useless
That is a blanket statement. I would look at the specific models because each can have a different policy. Also their customer service world wide is good and can be accommodating as long as one is not a total jerks calling in.
I dont agree that their customer service is good.
I bought a 700€ monitor, now it has a dead pixel and Benq says that "this monitor complies the specifications".
As I said, Benq guarantee is useless regarding dead pixels.
Ah you are in the EU, where did you purchase the monitor from? How old is the display? Also how many dead or bright pixels do you have and which specific PD model or model do you have. Specificity would be much appreciated, generalization does not help me or anyone else much.
EU. Spain

Mobiuz ex3145r
Purchased in oct 2022.
After 1 week after telling me that they are not going to repair it, Benq have just told me today that they will, punctually and exceptionally, repair the monitor!! :))
@@arnauvila338 At least they are taking care of the issue.
Benq references names are horrible. Too many monitors and big confusion. Almost no differences visible, it's a big mess. i prefere to go to other brand with more clear line of products.
We all have the freedom to choose and get confused by other brands numbering
@@ArtIsRight No names, only references... confusing. they should do something about it
If you are from India, please do noy buy BenQ they do not have proper support or service center. I bought a PD2705U and could not received any support, I am still in the mail loop. So bad that I believes these videos and bought.
I hear you and these video are info for the global market, not a propaganda to buy certain products. Ones own research in the local area is necessary as well.
I need a 4k 32inch , IPS panel . My need is basically programming and reading for long hours with minimal/occasional gaming . I am thinking to go with PD3205U or LG 32UN880-B . WHich one u would suggest ? Also , is PD3206U anywhere soon to be launched ? Request inputs @ArtIsRight
Just the PD3205U for now. Either one will do, I like BenQ because they have better factory calibration.
