Set the f.stop to an f4 I would say, since I guess you will be rather close to the lens applying the makeup. (f2.8 to f4) Set the shutter speed to 1/50th and the frame per second to 25. If the image is too bright: raise the shutter speed step by step until you like what you see. If the image is too dark, go to a shutter speed of 1/25th. still too dark? Raise the ISO value step by step. Let me know how it goes:)

Thank you so much! Settings I didn’t even know existed! I’ve been trying to work out why my camera shakes/zooms in and out when focusing and you’ve helped me with that 🙌 thanks heaps
Very interesting settings. I made a vlog yesterday however the focusing kept hunting around when I moved a bit. Do you recommend I use manual focus or one point auto focus so it doesn't just focus on my face?
Hey, Gary! Thanks for the nice compliment! I do understand you correctly in that you want focus to be on your face all the time, right? In difficult lighting situations the af system of the M3 sometimes struggles quite a bit. Maybe the circumstances where unfavourable....what were they like? If I may ask.... If you don't leave the frame, you can also try tracking autofocus by touching your face on the screen. One point AF might work fine, if you can constantly make sure the AF area is placed over your face. In which case you might need to wear sunglasses, otherwise your audience might notice that you*re not looking at them, which is into the lens, but above the camera, into the selfie screen. If it is a non dynamic shot, meaning neither yourself or the camera is moved, a talking head shot, then manual focus is the safest bet in combination with focus peaking. Then no matter what happens with the lighting, focus will remain on your face, or wherever you want it to be. Hope that helps you out a bit. More questions? Just ask....greetings!
TubeNoob thanks for your reply. I'm pretty much just filming myself sitting down talking in my room with indoor lighting like you are doing in this video. Im not moving around. Camera is mounted on a tripod. I had it set to face + tracking but if I looked away or I put my hands close to the camera it would just blur up for no apparent reason. I just want the camera to focus on me in general not always just my face as I sometimes show other things to the camera. I've tried it again with one point auto focus and more lighting and that has improved it a bit but still not perfect. I'll try it with manual focus. I don't think the face + tracking will work at all for me.
Thank you very much for your information.do you know how to setting for underwater use. Actually I buy the EOS M3 underwater casing To snorkeling photo but the color is Green, not Blue color.😭
Sorry, I never did that. My first idea would be to correct that in post using and HSL key. But whether that works heavily depends on the actual footage. In.camera......does the M3 have custom whitebalance? I can'T remember, its been so long..
Hey, Rance Vlogs! You are probably in manual focus mode, with focus peaking turned on. At least that is my best guess, because it sounds like peaking is enabled. Make sure to have autofocus enabled and let me know if that helps the problem.
Well...the audio quality won*t be the best of course, but you can learn how to use a compressor in post production, which will help a lot in increasing the quality of your voice digitally. Also in this case I would suggest you use micr windjammers by rycote to protect the internal mics from wind distorsion. Then I think you will do just fine not using an external mic at all. If you*re having problems with the flip up screen and a mic, then this video might interest you: ruclips.net/video/q88p4CdchmI/видео.html Greetings!
I'd like to add a vote to the 'please slow down a little' camp. I have just watched a heap of videos hoping someone would run me through the various settings on this camera because the manual is awful. Yours is the only one that does, and it does it really well, but even pausing, it's so fast! If you haven't made one already and you're open to requests, I'd love a 'how to use the EOS M3 in manual mode' tutorial please - which is slow enough to follow along while holding my camera.
Thanks for the nice comment, I may do one like that, it is noted now on the to do list. Until then, although it makes me sound suuuper wasted, you could play the video back at 50% speed using the player option. Wrench icon - speed - 0.5. Hope, at least for the moment, that makes it easier:) Greetings!
It's not so much your voice actually, as knowing what you're pressing on the camera. It would be great to have a little more explanation on that. "Hit the menu button, down here on the bottom right. Then hit the left side of this toggle switch here to move across to the camera icon." Etc. It might seem really basic to you, but it would be really helpful to people that are first stepping into the great foreign land of f-stops, ISO, shutter speed and focussing. On the EOS M3. The manual and menu are confusing when you don't know what the heck you're looking at.
Ah I see, noted as well. Could be a while though, there's many requests in the pipeline and two videos I want to get done myself. If you have a specific question, always feel free to ask and I will answer as soon as I can:)
Hey, Dianne Karol! Thanks for the nice comment. Cool the video helped you out, never grow tired of hearing that:) I sold my M3 for the M6, so I will do more videos on that one, but the cameras are relatable, so you will get something out of them even if you are an M3 user:) Many greetings!
No problem, like to help when I can:) Maybe a firmware update will help.....mine for the same 15 45 mm lens is 2.0.0. A firmware update of the body is probably a good idea as well. Let me know how it goes.....because I have to do some research...running out of ideas here....:) Greetings!
Hey, Isac Ferreira! Right now I am almost always using the M3 and the M6 because I am testing them. So I haven't used the A5100 for a long time, but just a couple of days ago I was at a wedding and did some b roll on it which turned out great because I filmed people dancing and the AF kept up with all the fast movement. I tried it with the Canon 70D, but that one didn't perform nearly as well as the A5100, the only cam that came close was my s7 edge smartphone, but the A5100 of course had the better lowlight performance. Greetings!
you were one of the most complete on the 5100 defence i think, but this hot problem is a mess ... i think a the begining whem i saw you " i will not make more than 15 min roll", i think right, cause your content normaly dont go more than ... 10 15min, and many shots to compose. ok... but whem you starting... you make more. lol. like know, i just finish my background, i made a small video on it(checkit on my channel its great great effect) and i am trying, setttings, distance, different camera location, and i speech and let rol, because you make mistakes, forgot, and dont pause or stop all the time, just let roll... BUT i know its the best focus arround... now matter what sony is always focus lol, i also look for cheaper solution, not so evolutive as the 5100, the nx3000, but my point know.... i want to squeezeeeee juice from my s7 edge, exploring all capabilitys, until it start to smoke lol.... so i start to shoot underwater too mega lol. !!! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
You can definitely use the s7 edge for your youtube videos....make sure to get high quality clip on lenses though...or the samsung lens cover kit... Yeah, when you start out and you*re studio shooting, the overheating can be a terrible thing to cope with.:) I feel you!:) Will check out your video after I finished dong my comments. Greetings!
The videos are recorded in mp4 format to the sd card. If you don't re-encode to a different file format nothing will change. Why is mp4 so important to you?
hi there, i would like to use my Canon m3 as webcam my only problem is the camera switch off even Auto power down is off and 3 min max is the least option.. do you have any other option on how to keep my camera awake without touching it to get back on? thanks
Hi, thank you from Brazil, I've just received this camera as a gift from a friend, intended just for vlogging in controlled studio with tropical light os studio lights, really just for vlogging, I think it will be ok for the job right? thanks in advance
Hey, Jersey's Life! Never owned an M10, but if the setting's there it should have somewhat the same effect with the M10. Can't tell you for sure though, sorry.
The 22mm has no stabilization, and since the M6 has no sensor shift stabilization either, the only available one is digital IS. Or don't you see any kind of IS setting? Like is it gone completely from the menu? Greetings!
Haven't experienced that yet.....usually at the very least the digital IS setting is still there. Do you run the latest firmware.... I did some research and stumbled across this help article: support-th.canon-asia.com/contents/TH/EN/8202354100.html Apparently for the EFM 22m there is no IS at all...... Not the best of news....sorry for that. Still, many Greetings!
thank you, you just saved me a ton of time going through the awful manual that comes with the camera. Definitely saving this video for future reference
Yes, you need an hdmi to usb dongle like this: smile.amazon.com/Capture-Broadcast-Streaming-Grabber-Converter/dp/B0779ZJZX3/ref=sr_1_24?dchild=1&keywords=hdmi+usb+dongle&qid=1595611469&sr=8-24
how are you keeping the camera on the whole time. My camera is shutting off the image after 3 minutes. I'm trying to figure out the energy savings mode on the M3
wow this is a lot of stuff and don't really know what any of this is. Once I get my battery in for the camera I will have to mess around with this. But do I really need to do all of this if I am new to video recording?
Hey, Kyle! You can also play around in iAuto mode and see whether you like the results. You don't have to do any of this. It's just that in my experience these settings make sense for vlogging:)
Mh....that really shouldn't happen....as far as the focus goes, have you set the manual focus auto focus switch to a camera button? Is it maybe still set to af, instead of manual focus? What lens do you use? Sometimes the mechanism is set via a button on the lens. An as far as exposure goes: Is the ISO set to auto maybe?
Hey, beavertown2006! It crops in from a 4 by 3 used for stills, to a 16 by 9 used for video. Is that what you mean? It is a "crop sensor/factor camera", meaning to relate the focal lengths of it to full frame sensors, you have to multiply by 1.6, in case of the canon aps c sensors. E.g 16mm on an aps c sensor gives you the visual aesthetic of a 24mm full frame equivalent. But the light hits pretty much all of the sensor, if that's what you*'re asking. Did I help you out?
Thanks so much for your reply. What I meant was there are APS C cameras such as Nikon D5xxx line ups that has a 1.5 crop factor, when they are used in movie mode, there is another 1.5 applied (even the D500 does that in 4K video, totally 2.25 crop factor.) Just wondering if the M3 does the same thing.
Sorry for the delay! RUclips comments section is a nightmare to manage....one endless lazy loading list of comments.... I haven't seen it do that, not that I can remember at least. My M6 definitely doesn*t do it. Hope that helps you out a little. Greetings!
hey dude. i Just bought a m3. stepping from the s7 edge. This thing as huge manual lol. I remember you make video. thanks for you time and love to make those contents!
Actually I thought you might be using the 22mm pancake or an adapted lens. I have the 15 45 stm m on the body right now and I get my regular IS settings. IS mode: off or continuous Digital IS: Disable or Enable So you don't have the second setting available then?
I just got the G3X and would love to see your recommendations for vlogging settings on it. This however was a helpful start as they are similar. Thanks for all the good info.
Hey, Bramante Chronicles! I hace sold my G3X some time ago......if you have any questions, that are not answered in the video, just ask, I might remember:))
Hey, akimi fujito! If you can live with the overheating and no external audio input, you will get FAR better autofocus with the A5100 and a more compact form factor. When it comes to windnoise, check this video out, that helps should you land on the A5100: ruclips.net/video/hhF8k3b2RFg/видео.html Now if you want the best possible audio and the ability to do long takes, then the M3 will make you happier I think. The autofocus is nowhere near as good, but workable in most situations. In difficult lighting situations, lowlight and high contrast background vs low contrast subject for example, it has a tendency to let you down though. The external audio inout allows fr different kinds of mic setups that still allow for the use of the flip up screen: ruclips.net/video/q88p4CdchmI/видео.html The Sony is a diva, that gives you great performance, but has its quirks. The Canon is a workhorse, that doesn't perform as well, but does what it can do reliably and until the end of time or sd card space:) What do you want to do with the camera exactly might I ask? Hope that helps you out! Greetings:)
Thanks for the info! Appreciate it. Not really planning to vlog or stuff like that. I just want to have something with me for my travels that has a highly quality pictures and video.
Is it possible to use any of the of the camera body buttons for zooming? The zoom ring on the lens itself is too loud and a sliding noise can be heard while zooming during video recording. (I am using the 15-45mm Canon lens)
Really?....weird....in my experience the zoom ring is way too loose on these kit lenses. I really wonder whether there is a significant difference in these European models.... Unfortunately there is no way to zoom via a button, because the lens is not a power zoom lens. I can't believe the zoom ring is so tight it actually makes noise....although, of course I believe you:)
Hi I’m just wondering why I don’t have the Dynamic IS in the IS Settings of my canon m3. Is it because we have different lens? I’m a bit confused though because we have the same camera but I don’t have that setting.
Ok, that's the a kit lens...mh....is it a used camera? Maybe a firmware update is in order...mh....on an off chance it could be a difference between an american and a international model....then again that wouldn't make sense to me with that option... So you only have the options "disabled" and "continuous", then?
Do you run the latest firmware? Are you using the kit lens? I am not sure, but it could also be a difference between the american and the international version.....I have had a couple of subscribers tell me that problem.
So the camera records video to the card just fine, but no rec symbol shows up?....that is weird.....really can*t tell you why that is...I simply have no clue....have you tried updating or reinstalling the firmware....maybe it's just a glitch there....sorry I don't have a better answer....
No it is not recording at all no red light...my old canon M will record when the body caps on but this M3 will not record....i have been through all the settings again....i use on my old canon M ..Nikon lenses and Vivitar series 1 lenses all manual and they work really well but the M3 i have just bought will not for some reason
Not even the old canon m lenses work??......how did you adapt the Nikon lenses with your old canon m? As far as the option to shoot without lens, I think they dropped that feature from the M3 onward......I sold my m3 for the m6 and it also doesn*t record without a lens....
/Thanks, great video, had to pause a lot but so nice to see it done so fast! :-) Do you know why my videos lately take hours and hours to upload? I think I have changed something in my settings, probably the way I save them (RAW/s3? I have no idea what it means and where I can find it on the camera... I did change something but do not remember where.) Thank you!
I found it, it is in image quality in the first menu. In this video you skip it but I am wondering if I should put it on L or M or S1, 2 or 3 and if I use RAW. THANKS!!
Hello:) These settings only refer to stills, not to video. They don*t alter the size of the video files. if you want to post produce your photos, definitely shoot raw or raw and jpeg simultaneously, if you have an sd card with enough capacity. You will be able to do way more with a raw file when it comes to color and dynamic range, shadows and highlights. Have you always been shooting 1080p ALL-I? Or have you maybe used a smaller file format before? Because this the setting that is responsible for the file size of the video file, hence the time it takes to upload. Dumb question: Have you made sure the internet speed it the same?
I am just asking, because the stills settings don't change the file size of the video file. I couldn't figure out yet, what might cause the upload to take up more time, so I thought maybe the changed settings by chance happened during a fluctuation of internet upload speed, or maybe a change in internet service providers.... Here's a website with which you can check the upload speed: www.speedtest.net You do use the regular youtube upload service, are you?
Hi great video with compressed Information. Mybe you can help me: I want you use this cam as a streaming cam (connected with my atem mini and a constant power upply : Problem; when the display turns of (and it always turns off latest after 3 min.) the HDMI output also gets black.... any idea ? Thanks so much in advance.. steve
If the budget does not allow for a more expensive camera, yes. But if you want a canon I really would save up more money and get the M6 or the M50 right away. You will be far happier with the performance of the AF. For sure.
Hey, Nike Noviana! Thanks for the nice comment! I am going to sell my M3 to pay for the M6....the cameras are not the same but you can also lear a thing or two about the M3 from the M6 videos I hope. Wish I could own both, but the tech is expensive haha...Greetings!

I can'T remember, its been so long..
we have the same settings now, but
when I look the screen it has red thingies when I point it at any objects it has these red lines
Hey, Rance Vlogs! You are probably in manual focus mode, with focus peaking turned on. At least that is my best guess, because it sounds like peaking is enabled. Make sure to have autofocus enabled and let me know if that helps the problem.
TubeNoob Oh yeah it was haha,
Thanks! you da best!
another question, is it still possible to Vlog with an eos m3 without mic but with tripod? only?
Well...the audio quality won*t be the best of course, but you can learn how to use a compressor in post production, which will help a lot in increasing the quality of your voice digitally. Also in this case I would suggest you use micr windjammers by rycote to protect the internal mics from wind distorsion.
Then I think you will do just fine not using an external mic at all.
If you*re having problems with the flip up screen and a mic, then this video might interest you: ruclips.net/video/q88p4CdchmI/видео.html
Greetings!
TubeNoob Thanks alot!
thank you!! finally someone able to explain how to set M3 to shoot good!! thx
Again an awesome explanation! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Anthony! Glad you like it!:)
If you have a specific question, always feel free to ask and I will answer as soon as I can:)
thank you so much - this helped me loads :)
Thanks, FinaMaria. Glad it was of help to you. Thanks for the nice comment! Greetings:)
great video as usual and I love any m3 info you have.
cheers my friend
Great to hear it, Steve! Always nice talking to you:)
This is exactly what I've been looking for. It helps non-techy person like me. haha. Hoping for more vids about M3. Thanks!
Which tripod you are using please !
using these settings for the m 6 as well .. hope thats fine
Going to come out with the same video for the M6 soon, but yeah, should work fine:)
Thanks for the rapid fire rundown saved me time on vacation for sure
Great review! Quick question, How come my camera doesn't give me a dynamic IS option?
Hey, Cezar Navarro! Some lenses don*t support that. Are you using the 22mm by any chance?
I'm currently using 15-45 mm lens. Do you think my lens is the problem?
Mh....no then the lens is not the reason why.....are you in movie mode? Or any other mode than iAuto? In iAuto the second IS option is missing.
I'm in movie mode, sir. Do you think I should upgrade the firmware? Btw, I really appreciate you time spent in responding to my question.
No problem, like to help when I can:)
Maybe a firmware update will help.....mine for the same 15 45 mm lens is 2.0.0. A firmware update of the body is probably a good idea as well. Let me know how it goes.....because I have to do some research...running out of ideas here....:) Greetings!
did you use more the m3 than the sony 5200 now ?
10 15min, and many shots to compose. ok...
but whem you starting... you make more. lol. like know, i just finish my background, i made a small video on it(checkit on my channel its great great effect)
and i am trying, setttings, distance, different camera location, and i speech and let rol, because you make mistakes, forgot, and dont pause or stop all the time, just let roll...
Yeah, when you start out and you*re studio shooting, the overheating can be a terrible thing to cope with.:) I feel you!:)
Will check out your video after I finished dong my comments.
Greetings!
Review for canon m10 plis
Hey, I will note that, but I have many other videos in the pipeline. Greetings!
TubeNoob great, can't wait, thanks
Can you record in mp4?
Hey, GL Physique! It's the default format. Greetings!
I mean when I put the files on my pc and start to edit the videos will be in mp4 format?
The videos are recorded in mp4 format to the sd card. If you don't re-encode to a different file format nothing will change.
Why is mp4 so important to you?
Allright thanks, it's inportant because my pc cant edit other codecs its lagging...
ok. ever tried to use a lower resolution for playback?
hi there, i would like to use my Canon m3 as webcam my only problem is the camera switch off even Auto power down is off and 3 min max is the least option.. do you have any other option on how to keep my camera awake without touching it to get back on? thanks
still relevant. thank you for the effort and the sharing. thumbs up.
Thanks, smalltalk.productions! Much appreciate the nice comment:)
can we set timer for self shot?
support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART137224
Should work somewhat similarly for the M3.
very useful. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, thank you from Brazil, I've just received this camera as a gift from a friend, intended just for vlogging in controlled studio with tropical light os studio lights, really just for vlogging, I think it will be ok for the job right?
thanks in advance
Yes, the M3 can handle that.
I'm not sure is it about model's difference in each country because there is no Dynamic IS in my M3.
can i use this settings for m10???
Hey, Jersey's Life! Never owned an M10, but if the setting's there it should have somewhat the same effect with the M10. Can't tell you for sure though, sorry.
Thank you for your help !
No problemo:) Appreciate the nice comment!
awesome video and great info as always! Now let me go grab my camera and watch the video again ahahaha!
Much appreciated, as always:)!
Wow this is very useful ! Thanks bro !
You're welcome, Randy Waluya Nugraha! Much appreciate the nice comment!
Thank you, really helpful, I set mine exactly the same now :)
Hey, Ana! Much appreciate the nice comment:) Greetings!
WHY DOESNT MY IS SETTINGS SHOW UP IN MY MENU? IM TRYING TO CHANGE IT BUT IT IS NOT THERE.
Hey, Japon Shock! What shooting mode are you in? What lens are you using? Are you adapting a lens via the converter? Greetings!
22mm pancake. Wide angle convertion lens infront of it.
The 22mm has no stabilization, and since the M6 has no sensor shift stabilization either, the only available one is digital IS. Or don't you see any kind of IS setting? Like is it gone completely from the menu?
Greetings!
Yes its gone.
Haven't experienced that yet.....usually at the very least the digital IS setting is still there. Do you run the latest firmware....
I did some research and stumbled across this help article: support-th.canon-asia.com/contents/TH/EN/8202354100.html
Apparently for the EFM 22m there is no IS at all......
Not the best of news....sorry for that. Still, many Greetings!
My "AF method" is darked out, any idea how to make it selectable?
It's been some time since I used the camera....do you use a manual lens?
sweeeet, thank you!! this is incredibly helpful!!
No problem, thanks for the idea to the video! Greetings!
thank you, you just saved me a ton of time going through the awful manual that comes with the camera. Definitely saving this video for future reference
You*Re very welcome, Darren Cousins! Much appreciate the nice comment:) Greetings!
was you using the m3 to record the first part of the youtube video?
No, I used the Galaxy S7 Edge....
Can i ask what mic u use? For the eos?
It's been some time, but I think that was an Edutige ETM-008.
With an adapter cable: ruclips.net/video/q88p4CdchmI/видео.html
perfect! thank you! so useful
Happy to hear that:) Thanks a lot for the nice comment! Greetings from Germany:)
on 1min52 you have the option IS Settings, how come I don't have this option on my eos M3 ?
Do you have the latest firmware? Or are you using a lens without optical stabilisation, maybe? You are in movie mode, right?
Hi ;) yes I have the latest firmware. It was the lens that doesnt have optical stabilisation ;) thanks for responding ;)
can i make the canon m3 as a webcam for streaming ?
Yes, you need an hdmi to usb dongle like this: smile.amazon.com/Capture-Broadcast-Streaming-Grabber-Converter/dp/B0779ZJZX3/ref=sr_1_24?dchild=1&keywords=hdmi+usb+dongle&qid=1595611469&sr=8-24
Excellent video 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
can you do a drone video
Don*t own a drone unfortunatelly, but I like the idea! What are you interested in seeing?
can you use old lenses on the canon m3...i have a canon m and i have managed to use old glass..but i cannot get the m3 to do the same...
Well you have the possibility to use the ef s to ef m adapter. That way you can adapt canon lenses with the ef s mount. What isn't working?
how are you keeping the camera on the whole time. My camera is shutting off the image after 3 minutes. I'm trying to figure out the energy savings mode on the M3
YOu can select the shut off time of the camera and the monitor inthe settings menu with the wrench icon...the yellow ones....
wow this is a lot of stuff and don't really know what any of this is.
Excellent tutorial, thank you :)
Hey I just recently bought this camera I don’t have a lens on it and it’s really blurry do I need a lens to use this camera
Yes, most definitely you need a lens!
Hello, my M3 keeps auto focusing and auto exposure in manual? Anyway I can turn that off? Thanks!
Thanks you so much for tech me how to use canon eos m3
No problemo:)
Is there any solutions to keep the Canon M3 from shutting down while doing live streaming?
very informative nice video
i think pacing is perfect
Thank you very much, Superhello220! Appreciate the nice comment:)
Does the M3 use the whole sensor to record video or cropped? Best.
Greetings!
thank you soo much for this info I love my m3
You*re very welcome, daday belg!
You make greate videos , thanks
You do, too! Crafting a pipe out of wood video was awesome!
TubeNoob glad you liked it 🤗
hey dude. i Just bought a m3. stepping from the s7 edge. This thing as huge manual lol. I remember you make video. thanks for you time and love to make those contents!
Hey there again, Isac! Much appreciate you taking the time to write such a nice comment:) Many greetings!
why doesn't my dynamic is show up in my is settings?
Hey, NM World! Some lens-camera combinations do not feature dynamic is. What lens are you using?
ah that's why.. i'm using EF-M15-45 IS STM.
why tube"noob"? you are not a noob
Actually I thought you might be using the 22mm pancake or an adapted lens. I have the 15 45 stm m on the body right now and I get my regular IS settings.
IS mode: off or continuous
Digital IS: Disable or Enable
So you don't have the second setting available then?
We all were noobs at some point in time I guess:)
Quick question! Which one would you recommend, canon eos m3 or Sony a5100?
Thanks!!
Hey, akimi fujito!
If you can live with the overheating and no external audio input, you will get FAR better autofocus with the A5100 and a more compact form factor. When it comes to windnoise, check this video out, that helps should you land on the A5100: ruclips.net/video/hhF8k3b2RFg/видео.html
Now if you want the best possible audio and the ability to do long takes, then the M3 will make you happier I think. The autofocus is nowhere near as good, but workable in most situations. In difficult lighting situations, lowlight and high contrast background vs low contrast subject for example, it has a tendency to let you down though. The external audio inout allows fr different kinds of mic setups that still allow for the use of the flip up screen: ruclips.net/video/q88p4CdchmI/видео.html
The Sony is a diva, that gives you great performance, but has its quirks. The Canon is a workhorse, that doesn't perform as well, but does what it can do reliably and until the end of time or sd card space:)
What do you want to do with the camera exactly might I ask?
Hope that helps you out! Greetings:)
Thanks for the info! Appreciate it.
Not really planning to vlog or stuff like that. I just want to have something with me for my travels that has a highly quality pictures and video.
You*re welcome:)
Thanks
You're very welcome, Basta explorer! Thanks for the nice comment:)
Hey, Nicole Martinez! What lens are you using? The 22mm pancake doesn't have stabilization for example. What options do you have?
TubeNoob My lens is EF-M15-45 IS STM :)
Ok, that's the a kit lens...mh....is it a used camera? Maybe a firmware update is in order...mh....on an off chance it could be a difference between an american and a international model....then again that wouldn't make sense to me with that option...
So you only have the options "disabled" and "continuous", then?
TubeNoob yes i only have disabled and continuous. I bought this camera I think February 2017, brand new.
Are you in "movie mode"? "Intelligent Auto" for example has less options in the IS settings.
My EOS M3 uses the internal microphone even though I plugged in my Boya M1. How to use the external microphone?
Thanks a lot
My m3 has no setting for Dynamic IS 1 or 2. How can I add it on my settings menu
Do you run the latest firmware? Are you using the kit lens? I am not sure, but it could also be a difference between the american and the international version.....I have had a couple of subscribers tell me that problem.
Thanks 👍 awesome
No problemo 👍
how do you know when the camera is recording in video mode,i press the movie button and know lights come on
Hey, Mike! Usually the record logo shows up in the top right corner.....did you insert your memory card?
Yes i did
So the camera records video to the card just fine, but no rec symbol shows up?....that is weird.....really can*t tell you why that is...I simply have no clue....have you tried updating or reinstalling the firmware....maybe it's just a glitch there....sorry I don't have a better answer....
If I use NTSC, can the picture style setting be the same as the picture style setting using PAL?
Dumb question: Have you made sure the internet speed it the same?
not a dumb question at all, thanks for getting back to me! What do you mean by 'have you made sure the internet speed it the same'?
I am just asking, because the stills settings don't change the file size of the video file. I couldn't figure out yet, what might cause the upload to take up more time, so I thought maybe the changed settings by chance happened during a fluctuation of internet upload speed, or maybe a change in internet service providers....
Here's a website with which you can check the upload speed: www.speedtest.net
You do use the regular youtube upload service, are you?
thank you
No problemo! Thanks for the nice comment,Mikail Abdul Hamid:)
Thanks so much im using the same camera for vlogging ,,,,
Cool:)
@@Mark10ProVideo ill comment here if i have questions thanks
Hi great video with compressed Information. Mybe you can help me: I want you use this cam as a streaming cam (connected with my atem mini and a constant power upply : Problem; when the display turns of (and it always turns off latest after 3 min.) the HDMI output also gets black.... any idea ? Thanks so much in advance.. steve
Hey, it's been a long time sicne I used that cam. Is the a power saving option that lets you turn off the "screen turn off"?:)
Do u still recommend the m3 in 2019 for vlogging?
If the budget does not allow for a more expensive camera, yes. But if you want a canon I really would save up more money and get the M6 or the M50 right away. You will be far happier with the performance of the AF. For sure.
TubeNoob thank u!
No problemo:)
very good video! please make more vids about m3 I should know it! 😆
Hey, Nike Noviana! Thanks for the nice comment! I am going to sell my M3 to pay for the M6....the cameras are not the same but you can also lear a thing or two about the M3 from the M6 videos I hope. Wish I could own both, but the tech is expensive haha...Greetings!
thanks gru
Hehe, no problemo:)
Informative and thanks . But slowly because too fast i need repeat many time. But very thankfull
Yeah....I tend to do these too fast...sry. Still happy it was of help to you. Greetings!
