+Explore Baltimore I was forward thinking enough to have them send me that exact bracket with the review unit but no go. Even the bracket is wide enough to block the screen from full vertical. But you can get a handle with a cold shoe or mount to the bottom thread. There are many alt options.
I tried shoving it all the way right or left but it's not the bracket that is the issue, it's the connection to the cold shoe. The base of the bracket where it connects is what will prevent full vertical of the screen and that can't be moved.
Thanks for a Good straight forward no-nonsense review… looking at older M6 since I don’t see a need for 32mb of the mark 2..!! A solution to the blocked flip up screen is easy. Use an L bracket to mount the mic. Now you have a solid handle to hold the camera with full fingers and mic is out of the way!
Thanks. I haven't kept up with Canon mirrorless but this is likely still a great option, I just recall it being so compact yet having the ability to change lenses was a nice option. For the mic mounting, yes, side mount. In the description I have another video linked as well as gear to get around this. Thanks for watching.
I have been Vlogging with the Canon M3 and the Rode micro for about six months. I bought the M3 because it was really cheap where I live in China. You can buy a cold shoe extension bar that screws into the tripod mount which means that you can mount the microphone off to the side and avoid it interfering with the screen, they are super cheap and convenient and you can still use your tripod. Try searching this in Amazon - Heavy Duty Photography L Bracket with 2 Standard Flash Hot Shoe Mounts
Ray, I got to say that your channel has one of the best visual qualities that I know, and I really need to say you thanks for all the knowledge that you gave to me, and you are one of the influences on my channel! Thanks from Brasil! It's sucks that here the M6 is around the equivalent of 2 thousand dollars... And great liquid design title btw!
Thanks, Nick! Appreciate all the kind words, the views, the feedback and I'm super happy that my channel has helped with your own! Bummer it's too pricey in Brazil, lots of good options though. More than I have time to test! ;)
4:42 The Nikon 5000 series cameras have had for a long time the flip-screen, that can be tilted to the side, not restricting access to the microphone input and these are great for Vlogging.
Thanks for this video its very informative. We were getting really stoked about this until we saw the fatal flaw haha still gonna buy it they have it for $400 now on Canon website.
We have used the M6 for almost all of our Daily VLogs and we love it! I have a handle bracket that holds the mic out of the way(solving the mic issue). Let me know if you want to see the setup. Great Job!!!
Thanks. Great to hear that it's been working for you. I have a handle too and that would work. Also bottom mounting. Definitely various solutions available. Thanks!
I have this camera for many years but have not been using it. I always use M50. After watching your video, I decided to take it out and start using it.
Ray - I just wanted to say thank you. Your videos helped me decide on a mixing board (and configuring said mixing board) and your advice on cameras have been very helpful. Thanks for doing what you do.
M6 FTW! Side flip screens are not ideal for vlogging. Unless you're Casey Neistat and wear shades, the eye movement from side to side is really noticeable. Plus, as others have mentioned, lots of options for mics that don't get in the way. A $9 bottom mount bracket will solve your issues and still allow for tripod use. Good review. Echoes my thoughts exactly.
Thanks, Garrett. Definitely lots of alternatives for mounting the mic. Glad you like the cam. Review vlog in the edit now,,,it's a long one;) Appreciate you watching.
If you guys are wondering for a fix to the flipscreen being blocked by the mic on top, brian miller made a great video on how to do it, still keeping the setup compact.
I have an M3 which is almost the same as the M6 and use an Edutige 001 mic which just inserts into the side audio-in port without taking up all the room your Rode does, and probably has as good of sound as far as reviews I have seen and heard.
Yeah that's a great option for this cam. You probably need an L adapter or a small cable to mount it in the best position but great mic, great price. I don't know the difference between the 001 and the 008 but the 008 sounds pretty darn amazing
I just sold my M6 yesterday as you posted this. I loved this camera except was disappointed it would not stabilize the Rokinon/Samyang manual lenses I have. I would have ultimately kept it as a specific tool, were it not for the lower 24/35 mbps bit rates and the digital IBIS not working with manual lenses (I think Canon could easily allow the menu to over-ride this). However I finally got to the point that I'm tired of trying to make a DSLR/Mirrorless camera function as a video camera, so I'm going save up and purchase the almost released Canon C200 that has the functionality and ergonomics we all keep trying to adapt to our DSLRs / Mirrorless camera bodies. Just my thoughts. Always enjoy your reviews!
Thanks, Jake. If you can shell out for a c200, then you have no video worries;) Pretty cam. I'm trying to get my work to pick up some c100's at least. I'm surprised the digi IS doesn't work with a manual lens. I know it works with the non IS Canon f2 22mm that I got with the review unit but I wish I could test with the adapter. I know that on an IS lens, if you turn it off, you can't use just the digi IS. But if the M lens has IS then you can disable the digi IS. I'll have to look into the non M lens issues if I can find a video on this. Thanks again for watching and the nice words.
Mounting. There are several ways around mounting the mic in a different spot than the hot shoe which would block the flip screen. Tons of links below in these comments to various alternatives like mounting to the side and you could mount to the bottom.
You just can't beat a flip screen that comes out to the side. Really not sure why camera manufacturers do anything else. Its a sweet little camera and fab to have 5 axis stabilisation.
I almost got one of those. I'm just going to go with my a6500 with the small HD monitor on top. I agree with you on the flip screen. It's like they are all just ignoring feedback. They could have made the best vlogging camera. So close. Who's going to do it? Sony? Panasonic? Canon?
Sony has a big shot with the next mirrorless offering. Either in the next 6000 series or simply put a mic input on the RX series and boom. That said, bottom mounting the mic to the M6 could work just as well or even the addition of a cage or handle with cold shoe. I prefer super compact and native but it wouldn't take much to make this work.
Thanks. Just a review unit so it went back but the fix is easy with a handle that has a cold shoe mount of you can even use the bottom thread with a small adapter. Thanks for the offer!
Fair enough. We're neighbors and 90% of what I do is building things like this. Things that don't already exist, so keep me in mind. Difficult things I can get out fairly quickly. The impossible takes slightly longer.
Thanks for the vid! ive been eyeing on this cam for a month now :) and ive watched all videos abt this camera :) hopefully i could get my hands on this soon
Great video Ray. If you could get a test video up for a Panasonic G85 I would appreciate it so much because I'm considering getting that camera for vlogging and I can trust your reviews.
Thanks, Carter. Looks like a great cam from what I've seen. Don't know that I'll get my hands on one but I've seen great results here on RUclips. Definitely worth considering. Panasonic is the best brand that I haven't had a chance to spend any time with.
Thanks, Alan. I haven't kept up with the Canon line in the last couple years after moving to Sony which at this point I'm enjoying more than Canon so if you want to take a look at the a6400 ruclips.net/video/DPmvG-7kiwg/видео.html or even the a6100, they are both great ruclips.net/video/hQdfHZOQC6I/видео.html
I just about this 2 days ago and I really wanted this form of camera that has 4k and has a flip up screen but I can't seem to find it. Most smaller cameras that have 4k are point and shoots which I do not like since you're stuck with the same lens forever. I haven't tested my video settings that much but I hope it does look great. I noticed it does produce a lot of noise when in even slight slow light situations. You pretty much have to be extremely lit for you to not have any noise at all. I was really considering the Sony A6500 but no flip up screen, Hence why I ended up getting this.
yeah the Panasonic G7 amzn.to/2vNgIdK seems like the best budget 4K cam but is not the same form factor as the M6 even though it's smaller than most DSLRs. Low light not that great on either but the f2 lens did help a lot.
yeah i also checked out the G7. it's bigger than what I wanted my camera to be which the m6 is the perfect size for me especially I travel a lot. The picture quality of the m6 is pretty darn good too.
Here's a potential fix for the mic mounting problem, but it might require a little work. I had a similar challenge attaching a Rode Videomic Me to an iPhone 7S, but in principle this fix will work with any camera. I designed a custom hot-shoe mount that puts the mic out to the side and had it made up by a sheet metal worker. When it was finished I painted it black. It attaches to the camera where the tripod screws in. It works with or without the camera being mounted on a tripod. The mic ends up beside the camera near the mic input jack.
Hi Ray, awesome video review. However I think if you'd want to use the microphone and screen at the same time comfortably I'd recommend getting a straight flash bracket to hold the mic(usually on the side) so it doesn't interrupt your view of the screen. Awesome review sir. Cheers!
Pausing the video because when you said that the Canon m6 isn't much different from the 80d (my dream camera), your review has me sold on this camera so far! Too bad about the external mic issue though, but I feel like I can try to work with it, or just use the built-in mic
You either need to get the microphone off the camera and on the subject or on a boom or you need a lens with silent AF. If you already captured something with noise in it, you can try some noise removal software.
One of those old style flash spacers mounted to the bottom would be nice for you. Move the mic to the side instead of the top. I used to own one such I got with a old camera. Check eBay maybe?
hi ray, I am not sure if someone has told you already but the solution to your problem is to buy a C cold shoe to hot shoe adapter which is adjustable and works for me in putting led lights and mic on my go pro and sir camera.
Thanks. The comments are packed with solutions, some of them I was aware of, some not. Appreciate all the suggestions. Ideally they would have built it to work natively and that was my main disappointment but you can't count on the RUclips community to find a solution;)
Hi Ray, Just got a M6 after watching your video. I just love the camera.. and how handy it is... two doubts.. 1. Shooting video in A+ mode [Vs] Shooting Video in Video mode 2. Slowmotion... Is it compromising the quality of footage?
The flip screen has been driving me crazy on the M5. Now I see it's an issue in the other direction on the M6. Lack of a headphone jack also puts both a little further from perfect. A rig might help it, but looks like the next camera will be an 80D for me.
80d is great just much different. For me they have different use cases simply based on size but it's definitely a great cam. I don't put much value in a headphone jack ironically, probably cause I have never had one but more so cause it's never been an issue and why I don't put it on my list of must haves but don't get me wrong, I wouldn't turn one down lol. Thanks for watching!
Since the M5 was my first interchangeable lens camera, maybe I've gotten spoiled and don't know what I have. Watching your video helps with my buyers' remorse, and your 80D settings video makes me want an 80D. You've earned my subscription. The "can I VLOG with it?" test is a good one. Still searching for the perfect cam because VLOG recording for me means: -Seeing myself with a front facing screen -Fast, inaudible auto focus, adjustable by touch screen -Good images with manually adjustable aperture -Decent low-light performance -Catching it all with good sound from an external mic -Portability The recent M offerings let me check a lot of boxes above, but not all. I'm going to try getting my hands on a G85, but I also want to stick to the same brand so the colors match between my cameras.
I'm just curious why you wouldn't just vlog with your a6500. Seems like a small cage would give good options for mic and even light mounting. The vertical flip screen should not interfere with a cage as much as it might with even an L-bracket.
I do vlog on the 6500 but it's not the best for that function. This was part of my quest to find the "best" vlogging cam. The M6 gets close. Cages are great but not as efficient for vlogging if, like me, you want the most compact, native package possible. But yes that is one solution. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. Very good, as all of yours have been thus far. My sense is that the articulating screen problem is a symptom of Canon's thinking: most vloggers will use a lavalier when filming themselves, and will mount a hotshoe mic when filming others, thus looking at the screen from behind the camera. In any case, it is an annoyance, as I now have a 70D that does not encounter that issue. Two things you did not address which I would have liked: (1) the viewfinder for this camera, which is an additional $200 and puts it on a par with the M5 in terms of price. Have you sampled it, and does it work well? Canon is so peculiar with this sort of thing, because of course if you buy the M5 for the built-in viewfinder, you miss out on the upward-flipping touchscreen, which is better for vlogging. (2) the effectiveness of the adapter for EF and EF-S lenses (of which I already have several). These adapters are notoriously unreliable in situations where autofocus can be key to effective video. You noted the effectiveness of the AF tracking on this camera, which stays on your face when you're vlogging. That's great, but it's already good on the 70D. In the comments below, you noted that you didn't get an adapter with the M6 from Canon, but do you have any experience with these adapters, and do you know what it's like when you mount an adapter on an M series Canon and use EF and EF-S series lenses on it? If it's OK, it might be worth me trading in my 70D for one of these. Any thoughts on these 2 issues would be most welcome. Again, thanks for this video.
Hi Great video, thank you. Don't all cameras that have this kind of flip up screen have the same problem that they hit the mic if attached to the hot shoe and cover it up?
Thanks for this review Ray. It's clarified some issues, but I have some Qs hoping you can field! Q1: I understand your (& others') advice about using mount with bottom thread. Because memory card and battery are on the bottom, doesn't that mean one would have to detach camera from tripod each & every time (& possibly several times a day) to charge up the battery? Q2: is it true one only gets approx. 16 mins. on fully charged battery of 1080p video recording? Q3: I've heard if stabilization is turned on one no longer gets 1080p recording (some limitation of the software). Can you confirm that? What does the HD drop down to? 720p? Q4: in your vid you do not demo much movement (e.g., walking outside at a good clip). Wondering about your opinion of the digital image stabilization? I heard the jello effect is quite bad. Also, others have said the digital stabilization doesn't work with non-Canon lenses. Q5: Others have said the low-light performance is too poor, e.g., in dimly-lit enviro. What has been your experience *with the kit lens*? I'd be shooting indoors often (& my studio is dark with very little ambient light)...wondering if I would have to spend lots of money on lighting equipment. Hope to hear your views.
Ray Ortega oic. i want to get this camera, but the mic jack placement ruins everything! need to use viewfinder at same time and all the solutions i’ve seen are cumbersome or lower quality mic sound. that’s why i’m leaning toward the M50, even though it’s a bit bigger (not heavier)
I cannot decide between Canon M6, Sony A6300 & Fujifilm X-T20. I am more concerned of having good photos than videos. I travel a lot & do street photography & portraits. But I also shoot interiors because I work as an interior designer. I am currently using Sony RX100 m3. Which one is the best upgrade in terms of still photos?
I want the Sony 6300 and now Canon M6. I mainly will use it for video. But I'm wondering if you I travel and want to take photos will the no view finder be an issue.
Great review. I'm currently using an M3, and I think both cameras have the save the same body dimensions. I have a very cheap, light and fully functional solution for the mic and screen. I'm not advertising my channel but I thought the video on my channel could help. :)
I think it's the 15-45 that's in the description but sorry can't remember for sure. I had the 22mm F2 but I still think I was shooting on the zoom that day.
there is a camera tripod mounted extension arm you can buy at b&h for like $8 that will easily solve your flip screen problem. it has a built in hotshoe mount that will extend it to the side of the camera.. ai these young kids today know nothing.. nothing will ever be perfect you have to adapt
Hi Ray, great video. I agree that if you can get over 4k fever, Canon gives you tons of great features. So many people leap to 4k, then realize they gave up 5 other things to do it. Decisions, decisions. :-)
I added it to the description, most videos list all the gear I used to make that video but my current light is Aputure Light Storm COB 120Dpodhelp.me/C120dZon (affiliate link) I made a video about it ruclips.net/video/NVwaucrcN3Q/видео.html
Thought similar, better to just get the SL2, still light, flippy screen, built in OVF, still has DPAF, plenty of STM lenses, 549 body. Canon still not quite doing the mirrorless thing as good as competition, they know how to make great dslrs though.
This camera is garbage compared to 80d the low light isn't too bad but it's not good compared to the 80d and the canon g7x which you might find surprising
Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn't say garbage but the 80D is very nice. That said, I wouldn't want to vlog with a brick like that;) Also the G7X I really like but it has a weird bokeh pulsing issue and no mic input. Great cam but significant compromises. Thanks for watching.
See this vlog I did with the M6 ruclips.net/video/EZ4AcRcToI4/видео.html I used two lens which I note during the vlog and they are both in this Kit kit.com/rayortega/canon-m6-vlogging-setup
Thanks for making this review ! Do you know how to check how much capacity is left on your SD card while using the m6 ? I looked through the manual and searched online and went through the menu on the camera, but could not find it. Thanks !
With the right lens like this one podhelp.me/sonyfe28f2BH it can do a decent job. Some low light shots start here ruclips.net/video/pLpfMb9JNS4/видео.htmlm23s
Do any of you know if this camera supports HDMI live output? It looks amazing as a travel camera, but I need on that I can use as a webcam as well with a capture card. Ty for another informative and chill video Ray! :)
I just messed with this two days ago and sadly it doesn't. You can output HDMI to a monitor but it's not "clean" so it won't work for live-streaming etc. Thanks, Jan!
hello! How do you edit your M6 vids? I like how it had that dark tint. It's really cinematic. Also, what's your camera settings when you took that photo of that kid? TIA!
I edit in Premiere and use the Lumetri color panel most of the time but a dark tint is mostly just color grading and/or my dark backdrop;) Camera settings change all the time based on my environment but you just need to expose properly for the light that you have at that time. You can set the shutter to 1/50 and leave it. Get your exposure with aperture then ISO and don't let the image get overexposed.
The SL2 is probably a little better but it also depends on what you want to carry with you all the time. The M6 is much more compact and easy to have with you at all times but the SL2 has better auto-focus and probably a better sensor but not drastic.
You can buy a Vello straight flash bracket for $10 to mount the mic on the side. No big deal.
+Explore Baltimore I was forward thinking enough to have them send me that exact bracket with the review unit but no go. Even the bracket is wide enough to block the screen from full vertical. But you can get a handle with a cold shoe or mount to the bottom thread. There are many alt options.
My bracket is in the mail and won't be here until tomorrow so I can't yet speak from experience.
I tried shoving it all the way right or left but it's not the bracket that is the issue, it's the connection to the cold shoe. The base of the bracket where it connects is what will prevent full vertical of the screen and that can't be moved.
Ray Ortega I am going to put the bracket under the camera, and have the camera on one side and the microphone next to it... So nothing in the hotshoe.
The bracket I got attached to the tripod hole, not the hot shoe. Screen has full movement, no issue.

There are microphones that plug directly into the microphone input and don't need to be mounted in the hot shoe.
Definitely some alternatives including bottom mount. Thanks!
Russell Cox what is the name of the one that plus directly into mic input
I have been Vlogging with the Canon M3 and the Rode micro for about six months. I bought the M3 because it was really cheap where I live in China. You cud get a tripod amount a cage that has all sort of mounts .you cud put a camera light and your external mic.ect
We’re u using stabilisation?
You can get a pic for the bottom for the mic and it will be on the right side but I don’t think that you can have a tripod

I got the mount that goes on the side so you can flip up the screen
Hi Ray, awesome video review. However I think if you'd want to use the microphone and screen at the same time comfortably I'd recommend getting a straight flash bracket to hold the mic(usually on the side) so it doesn't interrupt your view of the screen. Awesome review sir. Cheers!
Pausing the video because when you said that the Canon m6 isn't much different from the 80d (my dream camera), your review has me sold on this camera so far! Too bad about the external mic issue though, but I feel like I can try to work with it, or just use the built-in mic
Thanks
How do you get rid of the noise coming feom the lens when it is focusing?
You either need to get the microphone off the camera and on the subject or on a boom or you need a lens with silent AF. If you already captured something with noise in it, you can try some noise removal software.
@@RayOrtega thank you sir Ray! Godbless!
One of those old style flash spacers mounted to the bottom would be nice for you. Move the mic to the side instead of the top. I used to own one such I got with a old camera. Check eBay maybe?
Yep, bottom is a definite option and you could certainly attach it to the side some modification. Thanks!
hi ray, I am not sure if someone has told you already but the solution to your problem is to buy a C cold shoe to hot shoe adapter which is adjustable and works for me in putting led lights and mic on my go pro and sir camera.
Thanks. The comments are packed with solutions, some of them I was aware of, some not. Appreciate all the suggestions. Ideally they would have built it to work natively and that was my main disappointment but you can't count on the RUclips community to find a solution;)
Great review, thanks! Would you consider a video on the best video settings for the M-6 for Voggers?
Hi Ray,
Just got a M6 after watching your video. I just love the camera.. and how handy it is...
two doubts..
1. Shooting video in A+ mode [Vs] Shooting Video in Video mode
2. Slowmotion... Is it compromising the quality of footage?
Nice that it has touch-focus (tapping)... but does it have drag-to-focus for smooth focus transitions ?
Still searching for the perfect cam because VLOG recording for me means:
-Seeing myself with a front facing screen
-Fast, inaudible auto focus, adjustable by touch screen
-Good images with manually adjustable aperture
-Decent low-light performance
-Catching it all with good sound from an external mic
-Portability
The recent M offerings let me check a lot of boxes above, but not all. I'm going to try getting my hands on a G85, but I also want to stick to the same brand so the colors match between my cameras.
I have that camera and I love it it’s so smooth
Two things you did not address which I would have liked:
(1) the viewfinder for this camera, which is an additional $200 and puts it on a par with the M5 in terms of price.
Hey what tri pod would you use for this camera ?
Hi
Great video, thank you.
Hope to hear your views.
but I thought it says it doesn't have image stabilization on the camera comparison site.
There is a digital stabilization of the sensor, so it's faking it and it's just OK, not that great.
The M50 has eyetracking AF which makes it a little more accurate. The M10 has face tracking AF.
hi...can you tell me how you setting the picture style? thanks
can't you buy a side L-Bracket for the mic.
Mark Shirley That’s what I did, can’t see it’s an issue at all, plenty on Amazon..
Try the Vello CB-600 Straight Flash Bracket. I got it from Amazon for 10 bucks. This will let you relocate the mic.
Good review. Love it!
Thanks, Omi!
How do you get your past videos to pop up at the end of your video?
It's in your RUclips settings. Use the Cards option
Great review - very nice!
Thanks!
What lens do you recommend for blogging with m6?
I want the Sony 6300 and now Canon M6. I mainly will use it for video. But I'm wondering if you I travel and want to take photos will the no view finder be an issue.
Great review. I'm currently using an M3, and I think both cameras have the save the same body dimensions. I have a very cheap, light and fully functional solution for the mic and screen. I'm not advertising my channel but I thought the video on my channel could help. :)
Which lens did you have on the camera when you recorded the little girl at the park? It looks soooo good !!!
I think it's the 15-45 that's in the description but sorry can't remember for sure. I had the 22mm F2 but I still think I was shooting on the zoom that day.
For some reason mine only goes to 50fps and not 60.
You are in PAL and need to be in NTSC
I just got it too!!!! Get readyyyy!😎😎
I'm going to purchase this camera ! Do you know a specific lense & microphone I should purchase also ?
I actually love the flipdown screen of the m5
Hi! I'm wondering if there's any way to do live video shooting with canon m6? Thank tou in advance xx
there is a camera tripod mounted extension arm you can buy at b&h for like $8 that will easily solve your flip screen problem. it has a built in hotshoe mount that will extend it to the side of the camera.. ai these young kids today know nothing.. nothing will ever be perfect you have to adapt
Yep, lots of third party ways to get around it. Thanks for sharing.
There are other ways to attach mic to a camera. So no big deal there. I vote in favor of M6.
Definitely. Could also attach to the bottom or affix to side, like I said, not a deal breaker. Thanks for watching!
So, do i need a mic? When i record, there wont be sound if theres no mic attachment?
Clean HDMI output?
Hi Ray, great video. I agree that if you can get over 4k fever, Canon gives you tons of great features. So many people leap to 4k, then realize they gave up 5 other things to do it. Decisions, decisions. :-)
Thanks. I enjoy 4K but yes, always a compromise somewhere.
This was a GREAT video! thanks man!
Thank, you.
what light do you use?
I added it to the description, most videos list all the gear I used to make that video but my current light is Aputure Light Storm COB 120Dpodhelp.me/C120dZon (affiliate link) I made a video about it ruclips.net/video/NVwaucrcN3Q/видео.html
Thought similar, better to just get the SL2, still light, flippy screen, built in OVF, still has DPAF, plenty of STM lenses, 549 body. Canon still not quite doing the mirrorless thing as good as competition, they know how to make great dslrs though.
So for videos, Canon EOS M6 or Sony FDR-AX33?
Awesome review, now I want it!
Thanks, Dameon.
Dameon TheTrainer I bought that camera it's not good don't buy it not worth $900. Not even close. Just get the 80d which is not massive but good size
Thanks for watching.
will the sigma 16mm 1.4 fits in this? what could be the possible pros n cons,,,your answer is appreciated:)
No this is an M mount which means even most Canon lenses won't fit without an adapter.
Hi Ortega, Does this Camera have a clean HDMI out put?
Unfortunately no
it can with a mod called chdk.
sorta. it will work with work arounds
best camera ever
Love your video.your daughter is soo cute...👍☺
Have you tried a lav mic with this?
Lav mic would work well too.
Where is the soul stone Coulson? TELL ME
what do you use for edit vlog
Adobe Premiere but most anything would work.
Ray, 8 months later (Feb 2018), are you still rocking this setup?
This was a loaner cam so I don't have it anymore but I still really like this setup for vlogging
The Digital IS for video on the EOS M5 and M6 does not work with non-Canon lenses.
What lens are you using on it while vlogin?
See this vlog I did with the M6 ruclips.net/video/EZ4AcRcToI4/видео.html I used two lens which I note during the vlog and they are both in this Kit kit.com/rayortega/canon-m6-vlogging-setup
Thanks for making this review ! Do you know how to check how much capacity is left on your SD card while using the m6 ? I looked through the manual and searched online and went through the menu on the camera, but could not find it. Thanks !
I don't have this review unit anymore but most cams tell you on the LCD screen. You may need to cycle through the displays to see it.
Is this good for low light?
With the right lens like this one podhelp.me/sonyfe28f2BH it can do a decent job. Some low light shots start here ruclips.net/video/pLpfMb9JNS4/видео.htmlm23s
Thanks for the review!
Sony a6000 or this one? Which is better ?
If you need a microphone input then this one is better
Hi! How's the ISO of this cam???
It's OK. I show some higher ISO in my vlog review ruclips.net/video/EZ4AcRcToI4/видео.html
Someone answer this ....Is canon m6 can be used for making pranks or doing interviews from distance ????
theres a DIY that lets you put your mic on the side
Thanks, the comments are all about it;) Appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Hey Ray, for vlogging, which is the better camera between Canon M6 and Canon 200D (also called Canon SL2)?
The SL2 is probably a little better but it also depends on what you want to carry with you all the time. The M6 is much more compact and easy to have with you at all times but the SL2 has better auto-focus and probably a better sensor but not drastic.
thanks for your reply ;-)
they should of put the hot shute on the side under the mic in
How does the dual-pixel autofocus, on the M6, work with Canon L lenses via the EF to M adapter?
I didn't get the adapter with my review unit unfortunately.
Can't you just mount the microphone or some mics on the bottom even?
Mount a plate with a hot shoe on the bottom, mike to the side of the camera. No problem
yep, there are solutions, not a deal breaker. Great cam. Thanks for watching!
