    I'm new to wine and very intrigued by the science and the craftsmanship behind it. I come from a long lineage of farmers that made wine for themselves, so I decided to dig a bit deeper into the different variations and production of wine from the different regions of the world. I subscribed to your channel hoping to learn much more, Thank you

    I wasn’t aware of the technique of tipping the hear forward when inhaling. I had been sort of cupping my tongue like a tube while inhaling to swirl the aromas around my mouth. Seems like tilting forward would bring more wine to the front of the mouth for the inhalation portion to then evenly spread throughout the entire mouth, tongue, and nasopharynx. Really enjoyed the attitude of friendly enthusiasm too!

    Your videos are excellent, I'm learning a lot of things about wine appreciation. Have you tried Greek varieties? Xinomavro? Mouhtaro? If yes, please comment on this. Keep the good job. Congrats. 👏👏

    • @Intovino
      @Intovino  4 года назад +1

      Hi ΙΑΚΩΒΟΣ ΠΕΤΡΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ ! I have indeed tried many greek wines! I find them to be super interesting because of their uniqueness and the uniqueness of the terroirs you guys have. On top of that they're wines that offer a great value for the money when you compare them to many other countries. Ximavro I had tried as well as many other varietis including Assyrtiko, Roditis, Moscofilero, Malagousia and Agiorgitiko... But have not tasted Mouhtaro! Tell me about it? What's it like? Which wineries?

    • @greekelvisfan5594
      @greekelvisfan5594 4 года назад

      @@Intovino Hello again, thank you for your answer. Mouhtaro is a very rare and very unique variety of grape that gives red wine that is very distinctive. Once you taste Mouhtaro, you can never forget it or confused it with something else. It is very very peppery with lots of dark fruits like plum. It needs heavy meet to pair with. Unfortunately I know only one winery that is called KTIMA MOUSON. I wish I could send you a bottle to try. I wish you health and joy.

    Thanks for your video. My question is: is there a difference between “aroma” and “bouquet” of a wine?

    • @Intovino
      @Intovino  5 лет назад +10

      Hi John, good question...
      Basically the bouquet is the mix of certain kinds of aromas. It is mostly used to describe the nose of a wine.
      The word comes from the French word "Bouquet" which means a bunch of flowers.
      The bouquet would be a mix of aromas of different flowers.
      A wine would equally be a complex mix of different aromas .

    Thanks very much for practically showing us how to respect wines. However, I've got a riddle here, hoping somebody can solve this for me........
    Since std drink formula is {litre X alcohol percentage (number only) X 0.789} for wine, why is a 750ml with 14% = 8.3 Std drink but a 750ml with 13.5% ends up with only 8.0 Std drink? It looks like we are conversely getting more alcohol from the weaker wine (13.5% but only 8 Std drink). I'm still thinking the stronger wine should have fewer Std drinks but definitely not the weaker one. Anybody?
