As a wine educator I was impressed with the clear, straightforward, unpretentious approach to communicating the basics of tasting. Outstanding presentation.
This is a cool jam with on wine.

She's a gifted presenter. Well done and very well explained!
Hi Jason! Marnie gave a great explanation about wine tasting here! if you're interested in learning even more, check out my 21 Days to Wine RUclips series! Episode 1 begins with an Intro to Wine Tasting. I'd love to know what you think!
I agree!!!!!!! She kept me glued throughout ❤❤❤ wats her name
She could swirl that wine like it's the damn Olympics.
This comment made me die 😂💀
@@amicola1112 rip
I love watching these, even if they are 10 years old now...
She is so calming! Her tone, presence, everything.
I would advice you to smell one time before swirling the glass to get a first impression : it's called "premier nez". If you swirl it right on, it may happen that you miss some aroma because they get covered by other volatile molecules. What you have on the nose after swirling is called "second nez".
Smelling the aroma is preparing your stomach.
I don't know if wine drinkers knows it or it's just their "s.o.p"😁
Ah, it's best if it will in your mouth for atleast 5 seconds if you want really to "taste" without the "chewing effect".
Just let it play with your tongue.
Why chew?😂
@SPENCE HAHAHAHAHA LMAOOOOO
This is rarely taught but a great tip!
What about if you don’t like the taste? Is it ok to spit?
Marnie has a great way of explaining wines. I love her passion for it.
Your's explanations are a truly delight and your polite way of speak is nothing more them adorable . Great video.
How about snorting the wine? I bet that amplifies the smell a lot better.
LMFAO
+RamboJRV You can actually try it... First & last time in your life............. ))))) I bet you prefer beer. ;)
+RamboJRV Actually you are right: it allows more molecules to get from a liquide to a gaz state and then be transported from your mouth to your nose = retro-olfaction.
Lets patent a nasal spray bottle for wine
Hm, actually no. Ethanol tends to be a vasodialator, so it would increase bloodflow to and swelling in the region of your nose. That nasal congestion would tend to make your sense of smell much worse.
Great clarity in the explanation, as always.
I can't help but notice the necklace that looks like a piece of bacon
In, my not-so-amateur opinion... Hell yeah. That, necklace would take me inside of 2 hours to make probably less & before anyone gives me a condescending reply?!? I've stayed up until close to 10:00a on just ONE necklace
Now I can't unsee it.
Hahhaha
thats make sense.... she is sampling a red wine.... red wine goes well with salty meats, so your correct, that is a piece of bacon around her neck
@@DreamStalker2 I know this is 4 years old but this rubbed me the wrong way haha. No one was asking how long it would take to make this necklace but you just butted in! The irony of you telling others not to be condescending is lost om yourself which is the worsr part! I am sure you probably changed from four years ago but four years ago you was a wierdo.
I love her presentation. She's knowledgeable and articulate. I love this. Great video.
Very down to earth and practical, with great explanations of each step. Thank you!
Excelent. What truly helped me understand wine, was actually tasting the juice of the grapes before fermentation. That opened my mind.
I love smelling the wine a few times before I take my first sip. It’s just amazes me how good some wines smell and how that allows me to enjoy the taste of it.
kpictures do you know any wines with a nutty taste. I really have a craving for it and no one in my hometown know about wine.

Thank you for sharing the lesson. Is there a way to understand anything more from the wine via the sense of sound, as well? For example, the loudness of the cork popping?
lol, you troll
Hell no this is all bullshit
Thank you.
So much to learn from a brief talk
I thought this was a great video and learned a lot from it.
Just getting into wine now, this woman is the goddess of Vino. Who else watching in 2020?
I need to keep taste it... Yum...
You explained Wine Tasting Very Clear, Simple and Direct! Thanks for sharing this Technique For Tasting Wine 🍷. Peace ✌️ and Love 💕 from Tucson Arizona Desert 🏜️
“Tannic acid feels like dryness” that‘s surprisingly accurate!🤯

Great video! Love her
Cool! We follow the Swirl, Smell, Sip, Summarize method ourselves.
i wonder if she practiced before filming this or does she normally speak like that. i would love to have a discussion with her, if she really converses like that.
#Mee toooo
Also I would like to know what is in the corner of that room she keep looking at it every 10 seconds
😹😹
thanks
Over the top demonstration
I love her.
1:32 ..... I’m in love
Hahahaha!!!!
I want to go wine tasting with this woman.
To know abt the alcohol, after twirling it as you did at the beginning, just watch over the Edges of the glass.. You will see a transparent trace that fades little by little...as long as this trace takes time to leave it means that the alcohol level is higher.
That was a damn good video!
Hi Greg! Marnie gave a great explanation about white wine basics here! if you're interested in learning even more, check out my 21 Days to Wine RUclips series! Episode 1 begins with an Intro to Wine Tasting. I'd love to know what you think!

It can’t be more beautiful 👏
How can she speak so perfect like wow
We recently opened a bottle of red wine "2004". After poring a few glasses we noticed the bottle itself inside was tainted red with a thin layer. I only took one sip and didn't like it. But others drank it. Did this wine go bad?
There was a video I thought titled “the difference between voluptuous and lucious” or something along those lines, it was to do with wine tasting, does anyone know the video I’m talking about?
I’d like to find it again
I have a rather odd question...
How about _staining?_ That is placing a drop of wine on a white cloth and then wiping it or patting it dry with another cloth. Would that say anything distinctive about a wine?
What red wine do y'all recommend for a beginner? I've been on Roscato Dolce sweet red for a while

I still have not remotely gotten down the art of picking out all of the different fruit flavors that are present, but this video taught me a lot in a very short amount of time, and I appreciate it. -Renegade Nic
Side note: It was cool that you explained tannin when I had a very strong tannin wine and I immediately realized that dry feeling you were talking about.
Interesting ...
