I was in grade school back in the 80s every kid wanted a hutch bicycle back in the day. The only kids that had Hutch bicycles were rich kids or badasses who stole them off rich kids. Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s are BMX bikes were like our cars it would be nothing to ride around 30 to 40 miles on a Saturday so much fun no cellphone no bullshit. Life was simple back in those days
I wasn't rich and got mine stolen off my porch with me in the house! I was so bummed. I had the Pro Raider but I was building it up with after market parts.
Man, the Trick Star was always my dream bike back in the 80's. Your bike is amazing! I had no idea there was a difference between the racing and freestyle pedals, but it makes a lot of sense. The Odyssey brakes look sweet as well. Thanks for the detailed video, awesome 🤙
This was my also my dream bike in Pink. Back in the 80’s I could never afford it or I should say my parents could not. But damn, it brings back memories.
Gorgeous! I had a 87 windstyler as a child, loved that bike. It had the same tires, except in blue. Amazing the rubber held up on those tires after all these years.
Hutch was my bike of choice in the 80s we had a newspaper called buy n sell, I’d pick a paper up weekly & some of the BMXs were a steal if you knew what to look for, id buy the steal of deals & tighten a few bolts n sell most & keep some. Nice bike, good job.
Amazing, you have the rarest old school correct time period Hutch Trickstar and accessories that Hutch had ever made from the 80's. I am in awh on how you were even able to obtain these rare old school Hutch bmx bike parts which is like trying to find a Unicorn! I am trying to rebuild my 80's Hutch Trickstar which had a very dark memory of my past where I was almost murdered defending thieves from stealing my precious bike as a teenager where I poured all my life savings into as a kid. I am doing this for therapeutic reasons and I thank you for inspiring me to turn the dark moment of my past to a very positive future ahead-thanks for inspiring me with your gorgeous Hutch Trickstar rebuild. Any advise or suggestions on how and where to source out these Hutch Unicorn parts would be greatly appreciated!🙏👌 William
Sorry to hear that…crime was big back then…I had something similar happen but I had a Good Samaritan jump out of his car, belt in hand, who helped me fend off 7 thieves trying to steal my bike. They all scattered like cowards!
I had a GT in 1985 and I had that seat but in blue I had the 7X wheels blue idolized Hutch laid back seat post and the only pair of Hutch Areo Speed cranks around in 180mm with bear trap pedals... It got stolen 😕
This was my dream bike among those sold in my country. It had the shiniest chrome and was so light, but was expensive. I ended up with a cheaper haro master taiwanese clone.
I wonder if Japanese folk say "this bike was made here & not in the USA" I mean so really what's the difference? Other than it was made in a different part of the world? Surely they used basically the same materials, with capable engineers on both sides. Look at Japanese small vehicles they by and large outclass their American counterparts.
Let's see 1983 out of been 13 that or 8515 that would have been every freestylers want the trick star was badass sweet ride I still have my hutch pros ProStar freestyle dicked out Shimano tough wheel twos sagino single crank DK neck CW bars I love it
There is no way for me to private message you about the bike, either way I’m serious if you are into making a deal. My name is john. Let me know your thoughts . Thanks man
Come on Johnny boy he’s not gonna sell you this bike for 250 bucks. We all know how cheap you are, it’s not gonna happen bro. Just go buy yourself a 1982 huffy instead son. 😂
For sale, Got a 1984 pro racer. Acs black z rims. Uni seat covered from 1984 not a scratch on it. Suntour round pedals. Im original owner paid $488. When i was 13. Bike Gallery out of Portland, Oregon. Hutch bars and neck. Of coarse....just no cranks, no pedals....i wish.
I had several hutch bikes and None of them from back then had thick drop-outs, front or rear. It is absolutely NOT what hutch was 'known' for. That FF are Later or reproductions. Sry dude
Absolutely stunning. So Clean.
You do a really good job on your videos. Very thorough, just like your work on the bikes. Fantastic content.

Beautiful. This was the Roll Royce of freestyling bikes.
I like that the bike has blemishes, it shows someone actually used it and had fun. Very nice
This was my also my dream bike in Pink. Back in the 80’s I could never afford it or I should say my parents could not. But damn, it brings back memories.
Nice. I still have mine from 1985.
Amazing survivor bro, much love and props on the build!!!!!!
Beautiful bike. I always thought the trickstar, the redline rl 20 II were the holy grails of freestyle. Big up for sn awesome build
Gorgeous! I had a 87 windstyler as a child, loved that bike. It had the same tires, except in blue. Amazing the rubber held up on those tires after all these years.
When breakdancing died down I gravitated towards BMX bikes and my favorites were
Redline RLII
Haro Master
GT pro performer
Hutch trickstar
Pro Star, Trick Star, RL20ii ... three of the baddest and most expensive bikes out there. Your collection is insane!
I used to have an RLii....but the SE quadangles were pretty hot too
I remember looking at BMX Plus magazine and drooling over the Hutch Trick Star and Redline RL 22. Special bike indeed. Beautiful.

How did these compare to the Haro Master and the Team Master?
Nice….I’ve got a white one… love my trickstar
My bike had woody bars… that’s bad ass bike
This was my dream bike among those sold in my country. It had the shiniest chrome and was so light, but was expensive. I ended up with a cheaper haro master taiwanese clone.

An ACS Rotor would be more accurate.

I wonder if Redline, trickstar, kuwihara frames will ever be reissued like HAro lineage. that would be savage
They are at the moment
Classic beauty!

😂 coming from the cannabis dude who clearly doesn’t remember anything not to mention Hutch bikes 🤣🤣 stick to ur blunts.
I have a '84 with thin FF dropouts and a '85 with the thicker FF dropouts.
Also I just noticed the brake bridge is rectangle on the '84, and polygon shaped on the '85 as in the video.
@@hafabebe Good observation !! Will check that out.
