Miguel R Good work man! Lil tigers aren’t much to some(mostly wannabes and dreamers), but they are a great entry point into vintage bikes and yet are still highly sought. This is coming from someone who personally restored every inch of every lil tiger in one of the largest show winning lil tiger collections in the world.
You DO NOT have a redline bmx. I am shocked. Not vintage bikes but 80’s bmx. GT. Dyno. Redline. CW. I’m in love. You’re awesome Chip. Hands down I love all you’ve done.
That orange Krate brought back memories of my orange painted 20" Stingray. Bought the frame and fork around 1979 from an old gentleman and pieced the rest together... painted it original Schwinn orange color. Got it stolen around 1985.
Love that you are also a bicycle collector too, Chip! On the Red Line Pro Line, it seems like you have Campagnolo cranks, rather than Shimano. Those forks are not RL Pro Lines. All Pro Lines had cutouts in the dropouts. Best regards
I could hardly watch the video. I was way too freaked out with those bikes coming into contact with the paint on the car. Foose doesn't even flinch. I guess I'm doing it for him!!!
Thx so much. I’m a huge 80’s bmx history buff. I had my Diamond Back Turbo lite stolen too. those Bmx days were the best! Building my favorite Bmx I wasn’t able to get as a kid. An 86 Haro master.
Thanks for sharing your bike collection with us Chip. The Schwinn Krate bikes were to die for back in the 70s. We all rode around on Stingrays back then and would strip the fenders off of them and setup ramps and jumped them ramp to ramp emulating Evel Knievel. So much fun.
My mom won a Stingray in a contest in the 1960’s at a local drug store. You had to guess how many candies were in a big jar. My mom used vitamins of a similar size and filled a jar with them and counted them. She was the closest and won. She later gave it away for a garage sale of a friend of her’s along with a ten speed that I bought with money I earned. My parents occasionally gave my things away for some reason. It still irritates me so I don’t do that with my kid’s things.
Didn't realize Chip was such an avid bike collector, some really beautiful specimens right here, thanks for sharing and keeping the hobby alive. You might like to check out a few vintage bikes I have reviewed recently, thanks.
Love my Redline series 3 102b from the late 70's maybe early 80's, it also got stolen. I recovered it and still have it hanging on my wall. It deserves a restore, Ill have to knock it out! Thanks for sharing these bikes with us.

BTW, he was a heavy drinker!
Hi Chip, I never seem to be surprised by your sincerity and humbleness. I had a blue BMX Webco with a Haro number plate with blue anodized rims. Never was able to table top, though😢. My skateboard of choice was a Sims Brad Bowman, with Tracker Trucks and Peralta wheels. Still a kid at heart😜.
I adore that Redine, I had a friend who rode Flatland for them in the late 80's and early 90's he even had a Redline model manufactured that he designed called the C-note. Chip if you ever need wheels built I have been a bicycle mechanic since 1989 and built wheels at Wheeltech on the Rocky Mountain production line. At 9:38 those cranks are even rarer than the Shimano cranks referenced, they are Campagnolo road cranks and I am pretty sure that the hubs are Bullseye but may have been made for Cook Brothers. Either way I have always appreciated your work and genuine contributions to preserving and customizing wheeled transportation, Cheers!
The actual mileage between qpipes, ditch jumps, woods tracks, and death jumps was on an Olympic training level. Didn't mean anything to ride 15 miles a day.
15 miles one way a day was nothing. That was just kids in the 90s commuting to their friends houses or to the skate park everyday during summer break. For a lot of us not growing up in America and not in just in a handful of cities, bikes were our entire basis of transportation that linked us between nothing whatsoever and anything and everything whatsoever outside of a landline telephone.
I stumbled across this video, but how cool! I'm the same, lots of bike memories, and I've got several. I got the Haro Team Sport that was the ultimate bike of my childhood in the 1980's was remade in 2017 and it looks just like it. It was way too expensive for us at the time, but I bought it now and it's hanging in my house as art. My dad loved the Crate bikes (And hot rods btw, HUGE hot rod guy) and had an original Orange Peeler for me to ride when I'd come visit as a kid. (He lived in CA, I lived in Ohio) I built some skateboards too I remember from growing up, when we were poor and couldn't afford the cool ones. I worked in a bike shop for four years as a mechanic and in sales. I was a roadie, pounding miles on like crazy for my Tour de France dreams, but I also rode MTB, trials, and BMX. Bicycles were main only form of transportation for years, and I live by Cleveland. The year we set a record low temp in the Winter of -21 F, I rode my bicycle to work. The chain froze and wouldn't go through the derailleur, the bearings in the headset froze and I couldn't steer and crashed several times, but I got there about 5 miles away. Once I got there it was closed due to extreme temps, so I had to turn around and ride all the way home, haha. Lots of bike love. Now I just use them to not be so fat, haha. Cool collection!
Hello Chip your a blessed artist and designer and now to find out your a bike collector that’s awesome I had my bike stolen when I was a teenager a 1986 mongoose decade teal blue and I found one and bought one eight years ago and it’s all original after I bought it my life was complete again great video I would love to see more or your collection Chip thanks stay safe God bless you and your family

Hey Chip! I’ve always admired your work on cars and hot rods, but I had no idea about your bike enthusiasm! I’m a huge bike lover as well!! I met you in Detroit a few years back at the Woodward dream cruise, I wish had known about your love of bikes I would have brought you a bike to autograph! Great stories, can hear you tell stories all day about all the cool stuff you did back in the day.
I just lost my mind! I had that exact Redline and it was stolen from me out of my front yard! I bought the frame and front forks and had to put it together. I had never done anything like that before. It was awesome and I loved it! I only got to enjoy it for about a month before it was stolen. Thank you for the memory!
Chip, thanks for sharing the bikes. I love the older ones because they are basically art pieces now. That Redline was pretty sweet. I had a Hutch Pro Racer that I totally customized. I brought it with me when I moved to CA in 1996. I was working at Hard Rock Universal, and one of our bussers needed a way to get to work. I "lent" him my bike, and I never got it back. Something happened and he stopped working. I would dearly love to have that bike. It was a truly custom as it was a mixture of brands that not too many would have put together. I don't know where to start in trying to track it down. I got into mountain biking in 2016 and it changed my life.
I'm 46 and my teenage Haro Master is still hanging from my ceiling in the shop. Mowed alot of grass for that bike. Priceless memories 🚴

at $195.00 only the wealthy could afford them
Miguel R Good work man!
BASTARDS
I have scars on my shoulder from a crash I had an orange crate those were the days
I guess I'm doing it for him!!!
conrad schultzman I wasn’t the only one?!? 😅 sears bike was on the car if I’m not wrong 😳😢
At 5:16 he noticed. Lol.
Me too haha
My anxiety went through the roof as all I could watch was those back tyres!!
Ya I'm gonna throw a me too in here as well. Could have moved over 4 feet easily. Why do things like this bother me so much?
Thx so much. I’m a huge 80’s bmx history buff. I had my Diamond Back Turbo lite stolen too. those Bmx days were the best! Building my favorite Bmx I wasn’t able to get as a kid. An 86 Haro master.
Here I was thinking that bmx started in the 80's. Glad to know you're a fellow freak, I have even more respect for you now fine sir👍
No, it was the seventies but your parents had to be making good money to get one.
Eighties was when every manufacturer had their own version
That white Redline is so good looking with the blue. Brings back so many BMX memories... Thanks.
Would love to see a Foose designed bicycle. Is Red Line the same Red Line who was making dirt bike swing arms ect.?
As an avid cyclist, thank you for sharing your passion. All the best
Hey Chip, nice collection! I have one of those Wald chain guards that you mentioned. It's yours if you want it.
shoot us an email with some pics!
@@FooseDesignInc Email sent.
Would love to see the transaction!
Love my Redline series 3 102b from the late 70's maybe early 80's, it also got stolen. I recovered it and still have it hanging on my wall. It deserves a restore, Ill have to knock it out! Thanks for sharing these bikes with us.
Wow, this reminded me of growing up in the 80s, my brother had a dyno.gt...in chrome...hard to find today with gyro, and pegs,,,from those days
Dad still has my dirt bike in his garage. Brings me back when I visit for sure. Thank you
"A gift from Boyd" That was a bit of a surprise.
Yes it was Boyd was a jerk and his brother was the worst
I remember a guy that worked for Boyd got fired because he was designing wheels for Chip on the side .... I thought these guys hated each other
WOW, you guys are ICONS .Boyd,RIP. The foose name,They wont ever make em like that any more :)
@@G-man45444 Yep that was Mike you can see it on you tube I would of canned him also doing side work on company computers for the competition. But there were only a couple of guys I like on that show one being Charlie the Painter and the other guy with the big goatee and black framed glasses.Could not stand that shop manager with the way he treated People.
@@charliegutierrez8728 I would see Boyd regularly at the Marie Callenders in the Friendly Hills section of Whittier CA back in the early 2000s(when his show American Hot Rod was still on the air) and he was really nice(socially, at least), business-wise, I think he was just too stressed out and demanded loyalty. BTW, he was a heavy drinker!
Great photo of you doing a tabletop.
Es una gran y hermosa colección de bicicletas mi familia y yo te admiramos por tú trabajo felicidades.
muy bien adelante.
Redline was the bike. I can’t tell you how that takes me back. Thank you Chip.
I’d love one of those rare upside-down Schwinn stingrays
honeydewbunson.....lol! Excellent!
Word for word it’s like my own story that’s what got started building cars, Harley and still build bikes ❤
When I was 13 in 1977 I had that stingray 5 speed. Can't remember where we got it, but I Wish I still had it.
Love the old BMX photos with you jumping in the dirt.
That was great-take about “memory lane” with the Schwinn’s.....
keeferdog those shifter were ball killers tho!
Chip sounds like I know you in person absolutely Bluff car show I'm bicycle enthusiasts myself thanks so much enjoyed
Mr. Foose is a class act. Thank you for sharing
Stressing me out having the bikes so close to the car!
I thought I was the only one. I guess, if anyone can fix an accident....he can
I adore that Redine, I had a friend who rode Flatland for them in the late 80's and early 90's he even had a Redline model manufactured that he designed called the C-note.
THanks Chip for share your bikes with us....
Bikes are what bit me. I love anything that gets me mobile, but I'll always have a soft spot for my diamond back mnt. bike I built off a frame I got.
Very cool bike! Check out my 1996 Group 1 Ti on my channel.
That's a great collection!!! I didn't know this side of Chip Foose! :)
Great bikes, but was I the only one watching the paint on the car?
LOL
I noticed that as well, but I knew he'd be careful.
Yeah, and it seemed like he didn't even notice. I wasn't listening to what he was saying, just thinking "Look Chip!"
Me too! I was worried about those bikes displayed so close to that beautiful paint job, bikes have been known to fall over.
i missed a minute from the start to that
Shuts down bike shop cuz u broke the fence ?????????
Bikes are life...or certainly were before cars, motorcycles & goddamn women. I'm absolutely fascinated by that chainless - off to Google I go.
Hey Chip.. Thanks for sharing your bikes and your memories.
Hey Foose, those are Campagnolo Cranks on that Redline BMX. Not "Shimano."
That bluebird is a holy grail bike for many collectors.
Tell Devin hello! I miss him
...the man has some serious flair n passion for auto design !!🙏🙏🙏🙋🙋...hats off sir !!
that second bike was oh so close to Impression.
Was glad to see the Krate. Those were the pinnacle of bikes when I was a kid. Like driving a Ferrari to a ten year old in the late 60's.
No one:
That creaky ass wooden chair: CrRRCckcKRkrckrkckkCRKr
I thought I was the only one. Drove me batty!!!
its orignal, 1887
Jamielol. Yeah, that was a squeaker. You’d think Foose could afford a “non-squeaking chair”.
Someone commented, that it was his Grandpa's chair...we all know how sentimental Chip can be !
Drove me a little nuts too. Lol
Would love to see a show w/both you & Mike Wolfe talking, showing & looking at classic bicycles from each others collection... !!!
The crank on Redline is not Shimano, more cooler Campy✊
spotted that too :)
Also, that's an MX-II frameset, not a Pro-line, and the hubs are Bullseye, not Cook Bros.
I’m from the same era and I remember all those 1970’ s bicycles. What an awesome collection.
Am I the only one that's uncomfortable with how close those bikes are to that car fender? The bikes are awesome though!👍
Fur Gulley yeah I was a bit worried about that lol
Me too! I was worried about those bikes displayed so close to that beautiful paint job, bikes have been known to fall over.
it's okay
, he can repaint it.lol
I've always been a Chip Foose fan and even more so now. Great collection of bikes there.
Whoa Chip was a shredder. I had a Redline 800p circa 1986, my world revolved around it. Parted it out to friends that needed parts they couldn't afford. Man I wish I still had it.
Nice RED Line, I just restored my Pro Thunder - It is Amazing and I still freestyle - No amount of money can ever bring me so much joy!!
