It would have been (more) interesting to do a homage to the Jaguar D-Type racing wheels, which were in fact used on racing versions of the E type. And I do agree with others about the wheel vs tire ratio. Too much wheel; too little tire, and that affects practicality as well as esthetics.

Nah. That's not the foose trademark. It's meant to have modern details. If he wanted it to be regular like you he would've done that. Why would he make a billet wheel that's small with thick rubber? That just simply doesn't make sense.

Mr Foose has flawless eye for design and proportion. I suppose that's why so many car lovers vow that if they ever win the Lottery, his is the first number they want to call...
I really like Chip's take on a classic that is hard to improve on. I love the concept of the wheels being a wire style billet wheel, however, I think the design would flow much better if the wheels themselves were 2" smaller in diameter and had a fatter sidewall on the tire. I love how the mirror posts were blended into the windshield frame looking like a single piece, but I think the mirrors are a bit thin for function, some classic round or even better - bullet style mirrors would have been awesome! My absolute favorite design elements though are the grille, lower air scoop, and the hood scoop reminiscent of a Ferrari 250
I think you are right on target; most of the work on this car is truly spectacular (and I am fine with the dainty mirrors!). The paint finish and the interior are beautiful. I appreciate the work that went into making a billet wire-style wheel but they are really disproportionate to the car and take away from what is an excellent rethinking of the E-Type. gmctech 👏👏👏👏👏 well said.
in 1961 it is. arrogance to think its improvable...
"The most beautiful car ever made" and vomiting a bunch of chrome on it doesn't improve it!
@@captvictor Not quite, Chip has a point about the compromise being made while putting this car into production, especially the US-versions fall short of their intended impression.
the wheels, however... a smidge on the large side, I dare say
Insane no words 😶 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Dear Chip: How much will it cost for you to make me one of those?
Chip: If you gotta ask...
Phil McKrakin .... if I ever won the lottery I would instantly bring him a 70s chevelle and a 72 Cadillac deville and just hand him money just to think about building my cars...
Id guess 250+ and prob more. Those wheels are 40k easy.
@@Slowhand871 I bet it's over 350 for a foose car of this caliber
@@weldingbrotha10 I'd have to go with the Chevelle or Cutlass which I never was a Jaguar fan but daaaamn. That's totally bad ass.
@@Slowhand871 - Other than for show, what's the attraction. With 1" tall sidewalls, hit most ANYTHING and the tire and rim are toast. Body mods are GREAT and the car looks AWESOME. Pass on the rims and tires though. I want a street-able car.
Best colour what a beauty, every car I've had its been in this colour, its just a classy colour grear choice.
Yeah until you see the interior F-CK what are you thinking its just sh't
Chip - astonomical! You are from another Galaxy! Gratest respect for your infinite talent
Very nice. I’d have the wheels a little smaller, but amazing car!
