  • Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria is part of ADHD. It is extreme, impulsive, and fast. It can show up as your ADHD partner being suddenly defensive, having anger outbursts, and withdrawing for a long period time unexpectedly.
This leaves the non-ADHD partner feeling lost, confused, angry, hurt, sad, and alone.
It may feel like being "gaslighted", but your partner with ADHD does not necessarily have the ill intent to lie or manipulate. It is a genetic and neurological condition. Try to avoid pathologizing your partner and mind reading them. Instead, breathe deeply and come back to yourself. When both people are ready, try to share how the RSD impact you and your relationship.
