I purchased the M12 fuel vacuum after watching videos and reading many articles about how many people are having issues with it shutting down and over heating I returned it and purchased the M18 Packout vacuum. I really loved the size of the M12 vacuum but the fact the battery life is so short I didn't want to use it and have it break down on me and then have to return it. I am definitely happy with the new M18 Packout vacuum. So awesome that I can hook it up to all my other Packout cases. There is definitely a huge price difference trust me it's worth it.
Low voltage service tech here. I use all half stack pieces for my carry in kit and use the compact dollyto wheel it in. The vacuum is sandwiched between an organizer and a tool tote, it works out great!
“We’re gonna test that out”
Thought I was watching Project Farm for a second! haha
Glad they increased the size to a 2.5 gal & redid the hose inlet/outlet in the new packout version shop vac (gen 3).
Don’t think it’s intended to replace the gold standard of shop vacs (Ridgid big boy, imo) for large jobs etc.... BUT for its size, being battery, & fitting into the packout system w/ other packout boxes. I think it will make a good compliment to your main corded shop vac, as another key feature it has; is getting into restricted spaces where a corded big boy can be frustrating (tight laundry rooms, & getting behind a washer/dryer, for instance 😳).
Thx Vince & VCG for the vid✌🏼
Nice little cordless vacuum-I am a vacuum collector-may have to add this to my collection. The "47" in reference is how high the vacuum can lift a column of water in a manometer guage-device for measured low inlet and output air pressure of a device.Manometers use two main reference-water column and mercury.(Hg)Also the measurements with manometers used in pipe organs.I would use the bags in this unit as much as possible-again to save your filter and motor. The bags are NOT meant to be reused-they are disposable. If you try to reuse-guess in an emeregency-the bag pores will be somewhat clogged and may not let enough air thru to cool the motor.Does Milwaukee sell a resuable cloth bag for this machine-That would be nice for folks like in shops and such with a lot of stuff to pick up like sawdust and shaving.
Lmao was just about to comment this. HVAC guy?
Yes I scored the 3 piece Milwaukee packout deal, I will be keeping my eye on the new Milwaukee Fuel Packout Vac thanks again Vince👍🏼
What was that deal? What's ya get
I went out and bought it because of this video. I use it more then my corded one in my shop just because it’s so cool! Love it! On low it lasts awhile and still does a great job. I use high in short bursts if I really really need it but most time it’s on low. Thanks for the review VCG!
Dang that is a sweet machine! Thanks for the review.
Yeah I watched your video then ran to Home Depot and scored the three piece packout set thanks for the heads up
Thanks again, got me a pack out system the other day, been needed one since last year but missed out on those deals and was just lookin at em the day before, very, very cool!!!
One more for the collection Milwaukee it’s the way to go thanks V....
You can attach the hose to the exhaust port for a couple of reasons. The first reason is to use it like a blower if you wanted to blow dust etc. The second reason which is the reason I use the old vacuum for is as an inflator. I use it to blow up the kids pool in the summer. Very fast and portable, and certainly beats huffing and puffing...
I Also, I like to use two hoses, one to suck, and one out the window of a work area, then you can use no filter, get more suction, and the exhaust fine dust goes out the window, instead of into the air...
@@Synic08 keep in mind that the filter also protects the motor so I'd still use a filter even if you exhaust outside. Also depending on the hose setup you might lose more suction than using a filter. Not necessarily a bad idea just understand the impacts...
@@Synic08 there are air outside of the window too you know.
This may seem like a dumb question but is there some sort of cap that you put over the exhaust when sucking through the hose to create more powerful suction or would that just make it worse?
Mufflers make it quieter at the expense of suction
I love VCG reviews because Vince is a straight up guy. This review was informative, but what i think we all want to know, is how does it compare to the 0880-20 version 2
I scored the glitch deal and made everyone jealous because they all paid 250+ for theirs. Thank you for always sharing the best deals.
Gotta get it now, just started my pack out set up today! Thanks for the reviews.
The true reason this vacuum is better than Any other is its stackable, this gets my truck vacuum off my shelfs and off my truck ground floor. I cant tell you how many vacuums I ruined over the years because the hose gets crushed or it was just in my way in the truck and got tossed. I bought the packout mounting plate and this vacuum stays stacked on my truck with 6 other packout boxes of special tools that don't need to be on every jobsite. I have a second stack of 6 boxes of tools and materials I use on every jobsite on the wheeled dolly bottom box that i keep bungee Corded in. This vacuum is exactly what I needed
This vac is great for dusting up my hvac return vents while changing filters. Easy to carry this one handed up the ladder and then using other hand on the hose. Got the brushed tip accessory. Perfect.
I use my PACKOUT vacuum for service calls for clean-up and i use it with my M12 3-in cutt-off tool attachment for when i make cuts into terracotta and plaster lathe walls. The customers love the that its really quiet and that they can still work from home without interruption. Great vacuum.
Do you cut dry wall with it I’ve been thinking of getting it I work in the water and fire remediation industry
@@El_Escobar612 yes. I recommend the dust collector nozzle if you are making vertical cuts and if you are making cuts into a ceiling, have a extra length hose with coupling for the extended reach.
Does your m12 3 in cut off tool work good to cut drywall, that what I was asking? Thank you for your help 💯
@@El_Escobar612 Yes it does.
Got the packout set for $129 after some convincing! You guys are awesome, thank you for looking out for us!
I talked them down on just the cart.. turns out HD employs can discount up to $50 without manager approval ..
Got the three price the day before the glitch, kicked myself for that one, got plans on the vacuum the near future, just found you yesterday, doing a good job keep it up!!
Love the channel bro
And yes test them vacs bro!!
Missed the pack deal. Learned my lesson and hit the notification button lol.
Great video! They always make my day
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, i watch them on my runs!! I just bought the dewalt 10 inch 713 single bevel chop saw would love a review video on that
I’ve been waiting for this vacuum for a long time.
As a painter, I don't really need ALL the packout stuff(still want it all, why? I love tools) but this would be great alternative to loading and carrying my rigid vacs, especially on smaller jobs. Larger vacs can get in the way in smaller houses and in the truck.
Personally, I only got it because it was in a cube shape. Fits in my car and uses less space.
Thanks for the video Vince!
I wasn't sure if I was going to get the older Milwaukee vacuum or the new packout one. Nice to know you can still use it without pulling off the stack. As long as the price difference isn't too drastic, I'm getting it.
Sound Intensity doubles every 3 decibels, so the New Packout Vac is a considerable improvement. I hope to score one this season of deals. Waiting patiently...
10 db is twice as loud. 3 db is twice when talking about power.
@@RAREFORMDESIGNS Good catch ;)
O Man have I been looking forward to this guy!!! I love my 2 gal gen2 vacuum but the Packout feature is Dope!!! My gen2 liked to chew up the batteries....I ran a 9.0ah battery on it. Can't wait to pick this thing up cuz!!!! Great video as always brother 🤚👌🤘👍
Just picked it up thanks bro I love your show
The packout glitch was more extensive than just the 3 piece for 109. I got the bottom wheeled box for 59.67, which was all I was after in the first place.
The hose makes a 90 degree turn where it’s attached to the base, just like the last model. It WILL clog extremely easy, just like the last model. I like the vacuum, but that’s a design flaw.
4r44r
@@thomasdickson35 I would imagine repositioning the motor to have the inlet/outlet hoses to go horizontal (centered) would be better to prevent clogs
I’ve been using this vacuum for about 9months with no issues. I don’t think it’s as flawed as you’re saying but I could be wrong. I’m a plumber in case you were wondering what I use it for
@@thomasdickson35 instead of 90 degrees south just put it straight into the fuel brushless it just has to be a slot to hold it
My ridgid which goes straight into the can clogs way more than either parkout, gen 2 or fuel
As soon as I saw your video I packed the kids in the Jeep and ran out to HD and luckily was able to score the packout before the glitch was fixed. Good looking out!
Milwaukee always does this so I waited for the wet/dry vac redesign. I have the one with the hose that stores inside. And they are here with another one. I don't need another one of these small vacs but for the portability with packout I want one.....lol
Yes I've got the old vac.....and thanks to you Vince,I will be getting this.....I was on the fence......😆
Hi Vince. I know the attraction to this is that it’s packout compatible. But I would really like to see it compared to the Bosch GAS 18V.
I have both. The Packout vac stays in my van now rather than the Bosch because it’s easier to keep in place. The Bosch is such a weird shape that it’s hard to find a good place to put it other than the floor. Couple of comparisons, the Packout does not have any extension tubes, which I used regularly with the Bosch. The Bosch however does not have a blower outlet, so it is a vac only. The Bosch has become more of a dust collector for me, as I can plug the hose for it directly into my Bosch miter saw port, and hang it off the back of my miter saw stand. The Packout is my every day grab and go vac.
Yes i scored Milwaukee pack out for 109$ in Portland Oregon.I showed them your receipt ,they didn’t want to do it but there was Milwaukee rep and she said she will make an Exception👍
I think that the packout deal was once in a lifetime I remember I was doing yard work when I started looking at your video telling us that it might work but then it might not, obviously with plenty of doubt and too good to be truth I took off to home Depot I was able to score two of them for the total price of $236,. After reading all the messages all over the country of many people getting that deal all I can say is thank you for the heads up.
Would love to see a mother saw on the packout work top with the vacuum beneath it in the stack and attached to the saw.
I wish there was some onboard storage for the tool dust collection adapter. With a battery in it, you’re left with one accessory that must stay off the hose and out of the storage chamber. Drains the batteries quite quick also. Overall quite good though.
Love all the pack out information
I would be curious as to what the suction is like with the fleece bag and the HEPA filter on the packout vac. I use bags on one of my 5hp Ridgid vacs and I had to switch from the HEPA filter down to the fine dust as it lost so much suction with both bag and HEPA filter.
Couldn’t get the whole deal but was able to get the rolling box for $60 with tax. Wish I could have gotten the rest but still a great deal.
Thats bullshit lmao. The vacuum the lowest I've seen is 160.
Power of the SUCTION!
My current vac rarely clogs, has great power after years of heavy use
I absolutely love my m18 vac
I heard about the packout glitch but I really didn't need anymore packout. I still should have bought it. I really hope Santa brings me the vacuum! Thanks for the test Vince.
These packouts are awesome, l hate to bring up the past but l will, we would carry a wooden tool box and it was heavy and filled with sawdust and you eventually cut through the handle cutting on it.
I have to get the bottom piece, l have to, l have no choice. Thanks Mr. Vince.
@vcgconstruction, what's up Vince. Hey thanks for the deals and yes I scored 3 of those packout deals, 1 for me, 1for my wife and 1 for my brother in law, and I scored the packvac with started kit deal.
Thanks again
Vince, you do the best tool reviews. Dare I say they are par excellence. Oui!
Got this thing a love it. Still need the big corded ones but the little one works great for 90% of jobs
Hi I just picked up the pack out vacuum and I’m liking it so far
Nice demo! Its very powerful! 😊
Great work guys , I say m18 fuel vac vs m12 fuel vac. I have the RIDGID 3 Gal. 18-Volt Cordless Handheld Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum and it’s great
Wish we had a Home Depot here in the UK!!
awesome vac so cool!
Subscribed after that "SUCTION". Man after my own heart
@VCG Construction. Thanks Vince for testing that new Milwaukee M18 Packout vacuum. Hope to see a one year later video to see how it holds up to your work sites. Will you still like it? Will you find any quirks that can be deal breakers? By then, maybe there'll be deals on this Packout.
Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
It's been a year since your comment. Maybe the anniversary video will be in the works soon.
Thank you for the review 👍🏾 just asking but how's the axis jacket working for ya? I've been looking to buy one but haven't been able to find one in person to see of I like the actual material. I would hate to buy a nice jacket just to get it torn by just a random nail sticking out.
@Vcg Construction I was able to score the packout deal the day after. My local home depot didn't take down the price tag on the store shelf. Also I noticed a deal at international tool that for a $150.00 purchase of Milwaukee, they would send you a free hoodie.
I didn’t score on the pack deal but I did get a good deal at HD. 2 6hour batteries 🔋 with rapid 18v/12v charger for $299 and it came with a free tool. And yes I chose the Milwaukee 18v fuel vacuum. A 200 dollar value.
Also i just got the miluakee packout backpack, and its the best thing I've bought in awhile
Really like how quiet it seems on video too. Compared to my larger vacs. (I'm also brand loyal to Milwaukee Tools if possible)
I tried to score the deal and was unsuccessful. Oh well better luck next time. Thanks for the info so I could at least try.
This is just information for those who do not research. This information was found online. I own and use Milwaukee so I’m not bashing them. I just know from experience that some of their tools are not cutting the mustard. Purchase extended warranties for all drills and saws. We go through a lot of them. Only some of Milwaukee's products are made in the USA. According to their website, they also have manufacturing facilities in China and Europe. ... However, their most popular products are made overseas for now. Most models of their cordless power drills and circular saw are made in China. Also their parent company and Ryobi are one of the same. 👍👍👍
Sorry Vince. I’m a Dewalt guy through and through. Have the Dewalt 20 wet dry vac. Love it. Great vid as always!
I have the new briefcase vac and I love it. I’ll wait till mine breaks to get this one.
I scored that deal!!! Thanks again for sharing
Thinking of getting this to keep my semi clean well on the road lol should do the trick
@VCG Construction, Vince always great content, as soon as I saw your video ran to HD and the glitch was fixed here in Chicago area even hit two HDs.
Same here in Joliet/Shorewood...idk who was more pissed,me or the work van for driving warp speed to a couple different Home Depots...the customer service and the tool dept.workers are ignorant "A" holes by me..before I could explain anything just cut me off saying they don't care...might have to miss out on the deals and stick with Farm & Fleet
The gen 1 without the filter clears water and mud very well
7:53 Enjoying the blower just a little too much! 💨
Yup, got the pack out already but that vac is sweet!
Almost had the deal yesterday (11/10/20) store did not have any of the bases. All of the signage was there. Went back today there were plenty bases. Got the $179 deal also added another box and got a discount on it as well.
Vince, the 180degree bend on top is second distance of about 15inches in back pressure, or loss in suction
Love to see a head to head against the backpack vac for dry stuff
As an autoglass technician I am curious how it will fair with tempered glass. Anyone used this in this capacity?
might have to add this to my setup so I can retire my ridgid shop vac to the garage
Have they sorted out the circuit board issue that they had with previous m18 model where it stops sending power to motor?
I’m a floor installed. Do you think this would be good for hoovering up left over fibres from carpets after fitting?
I really dig the new Packout vacuum. Had it for about a week now.
Anyone know what the small black thread adaptor is for? Love the vacuum thou. Definitely quieter
Vince thanks for helping me score of the three piece pack out deal for $109.87!! Me and my coworkers are stoked to be part of the VCG crew and now the pack out crew!! @vcgconstruction
What filter did you use for the water test, I didn't think you could use the supplied Hepa filter and needed the sponge filter which is not supplied or even out in Australia.
The next tool of my collection😁
can't wait to see the m12 version!!!
i need one to attached to my grinder when cutting whiterock. My question is can I get a longer hose?
Today is January 27th 2021. My question is I purchased the Milwaukee fuel 2.5 gallon wet dry vac from Home Depot with 5 year extended warranty. I actually used it on a job and its suction is awesome but the attachments are lackluster. What's the diameter size for the vacuum fittings so that I can purchase better set of vacuum attachments?
Not sure if you already have a video for this but I’d like to see a headlamp test. Test various brands of headlamps from the cheap $5 ones to the expensive $200 ones. What are the pros and cons of each, are they waterproof or water resistant, battery systems (Ex. rechargeable or does it take double a batteries), what are the various modes on the headlamp. Is it one setting or is there a high, low, flashing light, green light, flashing red, etc. You can even do a torture test to see the durability of each headlamp.
Diggin the boots Vince! . That vac is nice for transport to and from but i like having the wheels to wheel around while your using it itll just follow you around like a little makita rumba
Doesn't the packout have wheels that you can buy?
Love it
Can you buy a longer hose for this or a extension to add on
As a service plumber this has been an invaluable tool I’ll never go back to corded
I’ve had the gen1 and gen2. All I’m gonna say is: I absolutely hate the positioning of the hose where it locks in to it. It’s really damn hard to unlock and pull out. Can only fit your fingers in there. I hope the packout version is easier to work with for that.
I'm curious to know V if you don't have the lunch box can you put some half containers beside it and does it level off.
Could the readings be off on the corded because it was on the floor and there for further from the decibel reader
Went to HD after viewing the video on the packout deal. Could not make it work in Houston. I do plan on getting the Packout Vac.
i think a double size 5 gallon with wheels and handle designed for the bottom would be cool
Great video! I'd like to know how the Makita LXT compares in performance.
Hi Vince, can you test out how well and if the adapter included with this vacuum allows you to connect it to various Milwaukee tools such as the router, jigsaw, table saw, etc. thanks!
Im so glad i saw this i bought the reg vac not the fuel and i didnt like it. Not enough suction so i returned it. Might give this a tryv
