    I've found that if you put your tap in a bit holder instead of directly chucked into your drill, it gives you a little slop, which helps diminish the chance that you'll make it go "tink". It was fun watching someone else break a tap for once.

    I’m just starting as a millwright, and so far, I really like it. No issues with the 3 drawer and rolls into the cage without any issues. I have sockets, wrenches, and heavy hammers.
    Oh, and the drawers are lockable. The bar swings up and clips in and I padlock it.

    I’m a heavy equipment mechanic and they work great for me I have 5 of those packout drawers I highly recommend packout drawers as an addition to a full tool box . These things work great if you run a service truck as well . I can lock them on to my service truck a drop them off at the shop if I don’t need the tools in a particular packout . It’s also a lot cheaper than buying another tool box .

    Excellent Modifications, really like your ability to trial and error and re-fabricate something. I’ve worked on 4-Special effects Movies (Sky High Movie , built 80’ Baby Conveyor into School Bus Scene) I learned real quick these guys just try stuff and if it doesn’t work they try something else, very, very valuable lesson. Every Movie they have to Fabricate something. I’m a Conveyor specialist they hired me for.

    " Is it good for a Mechanic, is it good for a Mechanic.?" 🤣
    I'd say it depends on what type of Mechanic.
    Automotive/Truck where you don't need to move your box out of your work space, probably not.
    But if you need to move around a lot, Yup.
    I've done Heavy Trucks, Automotive, and Railroad type work, never needed to move my Snap-On out of the building.
    Currently I'm doing Forklift maintenance/repair, needed something I could roll around to where the equipment quits running.
    The Packout moves like a furniture cart, I've had to break it down to load in the truck, roll it up to loading docks, taken elevators with it, climbed stairs, sometimes walking up to a quarter mile through tunnels/halls.
    There's other brands as well, but this type of box works well for this type of work.

    It's out of the system now so don't panic but just so you know in the future, if you're wanting to block out the addresses on a shipping label, you need to block out the barcode too. It's like going out of town and locking your front door but leaving the back door open. Been a year since you posted so I'm curious what type of a store had the tops on clearance. Those are very much not on clearance at HD and they're selling like hotcakes since they also left their backdoor open and show you their inventory levels at the warehouse.

    • @AutobahnDan
      @AutobahnDan  Год назад +1

      There’s lots of metal blades out there that will fit your saw. Diablo makes a lot of them, even some for aluminum. The saws that are specifically made for metal contain the shavings better and are a little slower for a better cut. If you use them on any type normal saw, keep in mind, you’ll have metal shavings everywhere, the blade spins faster with less blade life, and more poor of a cut.

  • @SolarMillUSA
    @SolarMillUSA 11 месяцев назад

    you learned this the hard way, but the drill/tap combo bits only work properly with thin stock, like where the material thickness is 1/3 the diameter of the bit. Anything more than that and you're rolling the dice on breakage and better to use a traditional tap.

    This feels like a waste of time and money. You are basically defeating what these packouts were meant to do. For the money you spent, you could have bought a metal 6 drawer cart from harbor freight that would have solved all your flexing drawer issues. They even have folding side trays available for cheap.

    • @AutobahnDan
      @AutobahnDan  11 месяцев назад

      Everybody’s situation is different. This came out handy doing contractor work and not having a huge cart in the way. It’s very mobile and I can tear it down into other options later versus a heavy metal cart that’s going to be in the way later on when I’m doing other stuff. It holds its value and I can sell it for pretty close to what I bought it for. The list goes on and on.. can’t be narrow minded.

    Why 30 minutes to explain something, i don't got time for that. Anything less than 10 minutes is good, five is the best

      And imagine you watch the entire video so what does that say about you and your time. In the future if you have nothing good to say about someone or their ideas you should keep it to yourself as no one but you is interested in your negative comment. By the way I don't see you contributing any brilliant ideas.
