I want to wall (plate) mount the XL Toolbox, but I want to mount it to a Packout Wall Plate, not some custom solution. Your custom solution is great, but it won't work for my application. Where I'm mounting things needs to accept any Packout item.

I love this whole thing, I really do, but there’s a serious theft problem in auto shops. I’d honestly not use it just because of the lack of security
Not impressed with tough built. Milwaukee is definitely too dog and feels better built
WD has some amazing accessories. I would love to see for the Ridgid 2.0 a crate top, crate devider, cord hooks, long tool caddy for the dolly like the mod-box, adjustable rubber feet, rails for the boxes and case top inserts with tie downs, dolly wheel lock, case dividers, bin covers, socket & wrench organizers, dolly stack stabilizer. Top and side work tables. Need more?
I nice box to add to all of those systems would be a PC computer build inside with a GOOD monitor box for a 34 inch monitor, & a mouse & keyboard carry ...and do not forget all the needed cables. There are not jobs done today that do not include/need a full sized computer, full sized to keep down end-user fatigue.
So im thinking of going with a mod box rolling box then change it to Milwaukee pack out on top of the mod box but i dont know between your designs and pack outs its so many options for
Milwaukee The reason im thinking of not doing all Milwaukee and using modbox is cause of the handle and stuff. Another main reason for myself is to distinguish my box from all the other Milwaukee boxes on the job sites. Anyone got some opinions just stick to all pack out or mod box? Or do the Frankenstein build?

It be great if your corner connections had a Velcro option. I have a long torque wrench that I would like to strap down similar to the level but it is thicker since those torque wrenches usually come with a plastic case

Maybe an pre for quick clamps, so one one hand you have a clamp and on other hand the clamp can hold something

Jake, Milwaukee packout. using your wall mount to mount a 3 drawer or an XL box to the wall. Is there enough space behind to mount the work top on the drawers? It extends a little bit further around all sides?
Yeah it should. I use my worktop on it and it’s bigger than the Packout one. I didn’t show it in the video but I have two boxes mounted next to each other on wall and a longer worktop as removable workbench.
The accessories aren’t really necessary in my opinion unless you’re like the boss or cite manager
I have a lot of Milwaukee packout modular boxes and the main reason I went with them is because was because Home Depot had a virtual packout system so you could see what parts you wanted and how they would look
As far as accessories for hand rails go, that’s definitely a niche feature since most of us in the trades use a tool pouch so for me personally, I’d probably just use it to hold a cord… which can be argued that it can just fit inside one of the boxes
Idk, I personally like to keep a low profile with my packout since I work with a lot of people and trust very few because I’ve been robbed a handful of times during work hours. I like to keep my things locked 🔒 inside the packout before and after work hours
That said, I’ll purchase these accessories and give it a try. It’s not as if I’m not willing to try these days… I’m basically a manager now lol

What about a laser mount? With a telescoping pole that you can micro adjust.
1/4-20 PRA with a steel bar of your desired length.Most high end lasers have magnets and some level of micro adjust built it. That would be the easiest and cheapest solution.

@@the_patriot7 I don't have that problem as i don't use Milwaukee tools and fact is that a lot of tool videos Milwaukee owners complain for example especially about Milwaukee hand tools like pliers who are made of bad quality steel, break too fast, very often do not align. Or another example the electric Milwaukee ratchets levers are designed not really ergonomically compared to the Dewalt . One can get stuck more easily with these working in tight spaces. Lots of guys also do not know what for to use an impact versus a drill and then wondering why eventually the tool will brake. That applies for a lot of hand tools, too. I always compare a lot of Dewalt tools versus Milwaukee, talk to mechanics about a specific tool which i'd like to buy and then compare them myself side by side. I do a lot if research beforehand. So many mistakes are made using the wrong tool for the right job. Very often cheaper tools like wrenches from other brands are better and more sturdy than the more expensive ones. I would not pay a snap on price just to have life long warranty. If u use the right tool for the job and know what you are doing there is no need to be afraid that they break unless you purchase s.... from Walmart. So no need to warranty them all the time unless you make sure your tools will brake.
@@the_patriot7 And by the way jumping on the bandwagon of only one specific brand just because the majority is doing so is the same like learning to drive a car and taking over the mistakes from whoever teaches you. I mean i am not totally against one specific brand, not at all so don't get me wrong. If i ever find a Milwaukee tool i might consider better than a Deewalt, i'd think about it.
So there never will be one tool company which can be considered the best in the world as specifically in the US there are way too many different brands on the market which very often are made in the same factories. At least Dewalt is manufacturing more and more in the US again compared to Milwaukee and that's what I am happy about. Ever heard of the german companies Hazet (Pneumatic and electric tools), Gedore (wrenches) or new on the north american market Einhell. They are all older companies than Milwaukee or Dewalt. Einhell is designed in Germany but sadly manufactured and assembled in China, too. Still very good tools.

My work van is a Gruman Workhorse14' (identifies as a plain Fed-Ex van LOL) I currently have built-out wooden shelves and drawer system. It's time to change. I want to go full-on Packout. One issue I have with the current system is drawers falling out of Dado slots if I forget to twist the locking clip ( a Trex deck clip) also larger tools like routers and nail guns etc sometimes fall out of bins. The van can sway side to side depending on how fast you take a turn or sometimes when leaving/entering an elevated driveway/roadway apron at an angle. How secure would your wall mount system be in these scenarios? This would save a ton of time and cost in building out my van as opposed to the wall frame system. I want to create trade-specific boxes like electrical, plumbing, etc that I can grab and go and tool-specific boxes with accessories. Last would be fasteners and hardware boxes. I have gone all-in with Milwaukee cordless tools.
Tri fold out table top would be nice. Left right and rear leaves that fold out for bigger work surface. Maybe the rear folding leaf could have short 1/2 or 3/4 inch sides to keep small items from rolling off.

Not sure if you made one already, but a wire spool rack would be nice to have. I think if you offset from the box with a hole to attach to the rails that will allow you to slide a 1/2” piece of pipe in there to hold the wire off the ground would be cool

Are your PRAs rated for 120F heat? Would worry about the wallhanger sagging over time.
120° is pretty extreme. Do you live in Death Valley lol?
Theoretically PETG shouldn’t soften until about 175 degrees but in reality and under load it’s probably a little lower.
@@JakeWeiheinside a van in Phoenix, AZ can easily reach 150 F at noon if the AC isn’t running. It would be good to know max and min temps. BTW amazing work!
Can you hack Ridgid detachable dolly from their bottom gear system to connect to the back of milwaukee drawer packout so that it becomes the bottom rolling drawer packout?
Hmm I like the idea. But I think it would just be easier to go with the Milwaukee hand truck at that point

What about a caulk gun and tube holder. How about adding attachments to the front of the plier rack to attach the parts bin and other PRA attachments, to be able to expand that system outward. And the ultimate game changer that would make all of the toolbox systems more versatile: the ability to have the wheels and the telescopic handle to be mounted to any box, like the drawer toolboxes. That way a drawer box is the base, build upward with more drawer boxes and top it off with a lid toolbox to eliminate the need to have to unstack the boxes for access to tools.
Good ideas. I get Lots of comments on a removable handle with wheels for drawer boxes. Why not just use a collapsible hand truck?
Sure you could use the Milwaukee hand truck but you and I both know it's not as compact and functional as the set of wheels and telescopic handle. Think about if Milwaukee would have offered a customer customizable rolling box, where you could choose any box you want as the base of your Packout system? That would have been a big deal. Having a drawer box or the cabinet box as your base and stack drawer boxes up with side mounts to mount a drawer box on either side of the base rolling drawer box. You'd have access to the inside of EVERY BOX without having to disconnect or unpack anything! That's how I'd want my system because that's my biggest complaint is that I have to take it all apart to be able to get access to everything ok

The handler system does have mounts that attach the bottom of the handler. I was talking about a collapsible hand truck from the other “Milwaukee” brand or otherwise. The Packout 2 wheel cart has many flaws

What would that include? My custom worktop and monitor mount gets the job done for me
The ability to connect boxes to the back of your stack was a total mind blow moment for me, where I'm thinking screw boxes, open bins, and just small stuff you want to be able to reach into mid project, particularly because my stack has grown taller than me lol. Definitely a comprehensive collection of accessories and mounts you've designed and produced, props to you!
May I suggest a rail accessory that holds a paper towel roll? I know lot of people use the blue paper towels for shops and jobs as well as people are starting to use these Packout for like a camping chuck box. Be cool to have an integrated paper towel holder off the side of the toolbox
