    Great video. AN EFFICIENCY idea for you. Take all your sandpaper out of its packaging and put it in a portable file folder brief case. They look like a bellows. You can tab for the grits and carry all your grits in one folder making it portable and fast to reference the grits.

    Nice tour. I rarely do on- site work and it is a chore to decide/pack the tools I might need. One observation. I started with 3” wheels. A few problems with uneven concrete seams. Went with 4” wheels for next set of carts - solved problem. Also, went with 4 locking casters (roll and swivel) so I could always lock the appropriate pair on a sloping surface. Thanks for the tour and the video.

Also like the fact that the casters for the Packout base may sit in the valleys of the corrugated steel in the floor along with the caster brake for some additional security when the vehicle is in motion.

    consider putting your saw onto a pac out base too, U can put a 1/2" ply sheet on the bottom of the saw, then put pac out made feet onto the bottom of the plywood, attach the pac out base to the saw rail clamps, then U can lift off and on the saw, U can also the use saw on the your pacout stacks. if u have other "power tools" grider, planer, router table drill press, U can use all these in a same way mount them to plywood, and add pacout feet, for fast interchangeability. this is someone else's thoughts design, part way through the dolly tanks.

    I’ve been following your journey with your Packout/ van / storage organization set up. I love the new hand truck and custom dollys that you have built to make max use of the drawers. Very well thought out. Perhaps Milwaukee ought to modify their Packout hand truck to incorporate some of those beefier features,
    (4 wheels, more rigid structure, greater weight capacity at 600lbs, and dare I say it, lower price point at $150?!?) Keep up the great work and the innovative thinking. I myself am lobbying for 2 single drawer options; one from the current drawer shell, and one the size of the XL Packout box.

      Several companies make level mounts for the standard Milwaukee tower. Just little pieces that clamp to the aluminum bumper rail things. Just have to remove the level before removing boxes but means you can carry them into and out of the job site.

Like you I have 3 inch castors but the sack truck I use , which looks pretty standard in design when it comes to the platform , it doesn’t line up very well with the slot. I think your on to something here with the caster base/hand truck setup. I’m seriously considering going this direction for mobile tool storage. It just makes a lot of sense. Once you go down the storage rabbit hole- it pretty much drops you right here -
    - Drawers
    - Large box on top
    - Maybe throw in a crate

      I’m a custom interior shutter installer, and I use mine on almost every install I do. The pin nails will hold a shutter frame while I get the margins adjusted, and then I can lock it in with trim screws once it’s adjusted. Since the pins are so small, I don’t have to worry about touching up anything after the fact. I could probably get away with brads as well, but those would definitely leave a bigger hole.

    Granted packout is great quality and function. But so is dewalt, rigid and craftsman. Packout seems to me like a great marketing campaign for the Milwaukee company. Very flashy advertisements on their tool storage system . Don't get me wrong, I appreciate Milwaukee tools. I own several and some are great. But lately Milwaukee seems to be focusing more on capitalizing on their fanbase and less on making quality and affordable tools.

    • @1windozesuk
      @1windozesuk 2 года назад

      I haven't personally had any issues with quality, but I feel you on the affordable part. These packouts, in my opinion, are the best tool storage (by a small margin), but they are way overpriced, yet I still buy them.

      It just depends how much you care about organization. If its cut to fit the tools if forces the tools to be put back in the correct place. Its worth it in the long run if you keep the same setup over time.
