  • ASIMO-Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility-is a humanoid robot designed and developed by Honda as a multifunctional robotic assistant. Honda also developed the Bodyweight Support Assist device to help support bodyweight to reduce the load on the user's legs while walking, going up and down stairs and in a semi-crouching position. A third Honda device, Stride Management Assist, is designed for the elderly or people with weakened leg muscles, but who can still walk on their own.

When making robots this is what they should be doing. Creating them to help people be able to work better and faster not making them to replace the work force!

I have Dermatomyositis and have envisioned the 'stride management assist' in my brain. But now I see that it exists! Thank you for your research/engineering! PS) I would be happy to be a guinea pig ! This could be a whole new world for me. The only reason I use a walker (stroll-a-tor), is because my disease eats my core muscles. I have strong legs and arms... I desperately seek a way to rid my dependency on the walker!!

Would be more believable if models were really people with limited mobility, and difficulty walking.

Although this isn’t what I was looking for, it’s still interesting. I guess the second option, the body weight support assist, could be a standing wheelchair?

self regeneration of muscels will happen if load on joints is reduced. OFTEN BACK HIP KNEE PAIN WILL LIMIT ACTIVITY WHICH WILL CAUSE DEGENERATIVE EFFECTS.
