Anyone else notice that each episode resembles the movie orders. Like part one is on tatooine with a young skywalker. And part 2 being on a crime ridden world also seeing the clone troopers again. And part 3 having a duel between obi wan and Vader like in revenge of the sith. Now part 4 having Leia being rescued like in a new hope.
This is episode 4, but I know you mean ANH, but it seems they really are paralleling the 6 original movies in this. Obi saves a force senative kid, Obi goes undercover in a city that has a dark underworld, Obi confronts Vader and flees, Obi helps rescue a Jedi from an Imperial base. So the question is what's next? Empire Strikes Back type betrayal and down feeling ending, then a bit of Tattoine and a big trap in episode 6 that is overcome?
The moment when Reva told Leia they were the same side, I thought she would talk about her past, revealing why she hates jedi (specially why she knew Vader's real name) and convincing Leia jedis aren't trustworthy so that she would give her informations. Then I recognized this is a 36 mins Disney's Starwars episode. But tbh I really like the scenes with Obiwan using lightsaber, the tomb and deffinitely that Vader scene in the end. Imo this ep is not so good but quite enjoyable.

Every show needs episodes like this There’s so many questions left unanswered still. People are complaining bc they can’t figure out how this story is going to end. But after episode 1 they were saying disney was being too obvious 😂 People will always complain about something. Even if the show is good

I hope so. The character is so bad. I had to laugh my butt of when she screamed ''then admit that you are a spy''. It was so over the top and embarrassing.

I think the main plot of this series is showing how obi wan's personality changes from a post-episode 3 broken guilt-ridden man to an optimistic, hopeful, confident man in episode 4. In my opinion it does that perfectly so far, I think everything else is just a tool for his character development and I think that is okay in a series called Obi Wan Kenobi. Watching this episode I was so pumped to see him fighting, slowly regaining his former skills, I think it was amazing. There might be other parts that are lacking sure, and I understand if others think the show is not that good so far but I feel otherwise.
Does it show the change though? We got basically no reflection on what happened in ep.3 instead he's just over it. They've done a terrible job at showing his growth imo. I loved the first episode I thought they could really build on it but as usual we get dumbed down basic crap from Disney.
I want to say the Iktotchi with the broken horn is Ferren Barr the Jedi whom tricked the Purge Troopers with a mind trick to pro form order 66 on the inquisitors on Mon Cala. It was around 18 BBY and Kenobi is around 9 BBY. But the damage horn is the on the wrong side for him, but yet could just be an error in the CGI department.
I mean Disney Star Wars isnt know for quality. There know for butchering characters and fricking up canon (Grand Inquisitor diying on the hands on this new OC mary Sue)

They also basically retcon from the original movie like vader says in a new hope “When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master.” Makes no sense now unless you come up with some explanation that was never meant to be there in the first place
In Star Wars lore, Vader hated Jar Jar with a passion and I believe he eventually killed him! I wouldn't be surprised if he displayed his body right along side all his mummified Jedi trophies! After they escape the Death Star in the Millenium Falcon in A New Hope, Leia says "they're tracking us, it's the only explanation for the ease of our escape". I think the tracker being placed in her droid in this Ep sets up why she was so sure they were being tracked leaving the Death Star. Nice little detail.
Is nobody gonna talk about how Reva's story has already been done (much better) in Jedi Fallen Order? Trilla was taken as a child, feels betrayed by the Jedi (more specifically her old master) is on an obsessive hunt that she thinks will gain her favor with the higher ups. I like that they want to focus on these tortured souls, but it gets old pretty quick. Either they remain villians, they get redeemed or Vader kills them.
Yea I'm not a fan of the whole Reva charachter. I find her dialogs weird. Maybe it is the acting I dunno. In general I find the story a bit weak. Dude loses powers, has to overcome mental issues to regain them. Seen it so often. It is just boring, because you know he will get them back, beat the bad guy. No real mystery here.

When they mentioned that no one had seen the inside of the fortress at the start of the episode, my head went straight to Cal Kestis and Cere Junda from Fallen order, as it would be a perfect opportunity to fit them into the story to possibly guide them through it

Fallen Order takes place 5 years prior to this right? One would have to infer that if the agents of The Path don't know about that little incident, then Cal's group has largely remained isolated since then & clearly the Inquisitorious wouldn't have wanted that info getting out either so it was likely buried.

I see your point about the narrative being more simple but that's not really the focus of the show. It's about obi- wans state of mind, leia, reva and vader. The plot is there to drive their emotions and relationships. Star wars has always been more character driven. It's like this for all the movies and shows

We can see Tera Sinube. It's the first Jedi Obi-Wan looked at when he enterted the tomb. Also the underwater hallway scene and the moment Obi-Wan blocked the water is a reference to Vader blocking water at the exact same spot in Jedi: Fallen Order

Understand the criticism with not enough side plots etc.. but I like to think of ObiWan as a 6 hour movie rather than an actual show. If you think about it in movie terms, it's actually doing quite well story telling wise. Most one off films would not have tons of over-arcing threads to tie off as there just isn't the time. Love the content man. Always look forward to the breakdowns.

Personally I wish I felt as you did. This was the only episode I hated. So much inconsistency in story. Reva is still bland. Along with the other inquisitors. A blaster breaking the glass is ridiculous. As for Kenobi the first stormtrooper just reflects the lightsaber

many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view... I loved this episode. I'm grateful that Disney is allowing Kenobi to reconnect with the Force, and his potency as a Hero. The series is headed in the right direction, imo

My favorite part was seeing Vader’s Jedi collection. A few didn’t look mint-in-box though, what with missing limbs and holes in the torsos. He’ll never get top-credit on the market in that condition, even with the ultra-rare younglings.

Cant say I was a fan. I feel like the entire series has been filler. No real plot progression. I don’t feel like obi wan has developed at all and nor has leia. I’m not a huge fan of how weak they have made him. It just seems poor story wroting and it’s a real shame for a show with so much potential. But if you can see the light in it and enjoy it for what it is that’s great. To me it’s just not what I ever wanted!
The action and work of the stunt people on this show is embarrassing.. It all looks like people in rehearsal before the actuall shoot.. I thought it was just the leia scenes but this episode proved even with the adults it just looks lazy and sloppy.. Like how does two trained soldiers get taken down by a slap and then have their gun taken?? Idk if it's Deborah chow or someone else but someone on the crew has no idea how to sell stunts and action.. It makes me worried about the next showdown with Obi Wan and Vader

I rather like the simple story here - it is about a broken and war-weary Obi Wan rediscovering his power, and they're showing us how needs forces him to become a warrior again. I love his arch so far. He's fallen so entirely, but we know he'll get back up. I suspect Reva won't survive this show, but she may redeem herself on the way.

So obvious that Reva is being set up for her redemption arc though I wish Vader would just kill her at the end of the series. Nothing against the actress but I am not looking forward to a Reva series, which is highly likely to happen at this point….

My problem with this episode was the stakes were so low. We all know nothing is going to happen to either Leia or Obi-Wan. And having spent so little time with Tala, there was no real concern over her survival. This seemed more like a filler episode, which is fine if the show was longer but not for something that's only 6 episodes long.

The scene where obi wan killed the stormtroopers in the dark, reminded me of the force unleashed II intro when starkiller killed the stormtroopers in a similar way
I really enjoyed episode 4. Yeah, it might not be the best Star Wars ever made, but we have to stop expecting that. These are now basically TV shows pumped out to fit in already existing canon. It's better than no Star Wars. But again, kudos to you getting these top notch videos out so quickly. You trim all the fat, and just get to all the meaty bits. Entertaining and very informative at the same time.
I only expect this to be logical, nothing more, a stormtrooper that can't shoot almost static Obi Wan from behind from 10 meters, Tala killing and imperial officer in the room with other imperial officers and no one noticed it, meh episode
ObiWanKenobi - The Return of the Escapes. After 4 episodes, the one thing i am left with, is how easily the escape every single time. In ep 2 on a auto transport, they had no ships to take it out or capture with, in ep3, oh no, they are behind a wall of fire on a planet we control, they got away. And now in ep4, a hangar full of tiefighters hanging from the roof, not a single one is launched to combat the attacking ships. ships that got to a superbase without being detected.
Agreed about the lack of meat. All the Disney plus shows use the Saturday morning cartoon formula which is odd for live action. Watching Kenobi and then watching Stranger Things, it’s quite shocking how much better the latter is. Kenobi should be a full hour with more characters. They should be cutting to Bail and how this kidnapping sparks the rebellion. It should be cutting to Vader. Maybe even Owen and Beru in the first two episodes. Without multiple character arcs and no central goal besides “get Leia back” it’s too simplistic for me.
And if they kept cutting back to them you'd complain that they weren't focusing on Obi Wan... you know, like how other fans are complaining that the show is 100% Obi Wan all the time. Dear lord there is no pleasing this fanbase, is there?

I read somewhere how each episode of this series mirror the original movies. So episode 1 would mirror phantom menace and so on. Best example I can give is episode 4 they rescue Lea from the death star and this the rescue her from the fort. It really fits if u read it and I'm sure the writers included it on purpose...
So far, I enjoy watching the episodes each week, but it never feels like the story is really getting anywhere. I think they either need to make these shows more than 6 episodes, or move things a little faster.

All great female actors. Can’t argue that. I’m not saying KK has a feminist agenda but for a show about a dude and his evil little bro we definitely don’t see 2 dudes very much. Just sayin. When we do, they’re meek and getting sonned. The strongest, smartest and funniest characters in this show are female with the most screen time. In a show about OBIWAN
Haven’t heard, review bombed, I enjoyed that. From what we got from the last movie trilogy (they shall not be named) all the new Star Wars series have been a breath of fresh air.

Episode 4 was amazing. Riff on the Death Star “sneakin’ around” from A New Hope. My favorite aspect of SW. And the emotions and drama are heightened with the direction of Deborah Chow.

Anyone else notice that each episode resembles the movie orders. Like part one is on tatooine with a young skywalker. And part 2 being on a crime ridden world also seeing the clone troopers again. And part 3 having a duel between obi wan and Vader like in revenge of the sith. Now part 4 having Leia being rescued like in a new hope.

This is episode 4, but I know you mean ANH, but it seems they really are paralleling the 6 original movies in this. Obi saves a force senative kid, Obi goes undercover in a city that has a dark underworld, Obi confronts Vader and flees, Obi helps rescue a Jedi from an Imperial base. So the question is what's next? Empire Strikes Back type betrayal and down feeling ending, then a bit of Tattoine and a big trap in episode 6 that is overcome?

The moment when Reva told Leia they were the same side, I thought she would talk about her past, revealing why she hates jedi (specially why she knew Vader's real name) and convincing Leia jedis aren't trustworthy so that she would give her informations.

But tbh I really like the scenes with Obiwan using lightsaber, the tomb and deffinitely that Vader scene in the end. Imo this ep is not so good but quite enjoyable.

I think the main plot of this series is showing how obi wan's personality changes from a post-episode 3 broken guilt-ridden man to an optimistic, hopeful, confident man in episode 4. In my opinion it does that perfectly so far, I think everything else is just a tool for his character development and I think that is okay in a series called Obi Wan Kenobi. Watching this episode I was so pumped to see him fighting, slowly regaining his former skills, I think it was amazing. There might be other parts that are lacking sure, and I understand if others think the show is not that good so far but I feel otherwise.

I want to say the Iktotchi with the broken horn is Ferren Barr the Jedi whom tricked the Purge Troopers with a mind trick to pro form order 66 on the inquisitors on Mon Cala. It was around 18 BBY and Kenobi is around 9 BBY. But the damage horn is the on the wrong side for him, but yet could just be an error in the CGI department.

After they escape the Death Star in the Millenium Falcon in A New Hope, Leia says "they're tracking us, it's the only explanation for the ease of our escape". I think the tracker being placed in her droid in this Ep sets up why she was so sure they were being tracked leaving the Death Star. Nice little detail.
That's a great point next week when everyone else is making this same comparison I'll remember I saw it here first.

Trilla was taken as a child, feels betrayed by the Jedi (more specifically her old master) is on an obsessive hunt that she thinks will gain her favor with the higher ups.
I like that they want to focus on these tortured souls, but it gets old pretty quick. Either they remain villians, they get redeemed or Vader kills them.
Yea I'm not a fan of the whole Reva charachter. I find her dialogs weird. Maybe it is the acting I dunno. In general I find the story a bit weak. Dude loses powers, has to overcome mental issues to regain them. Seen it so often. It is just boring, because you know he will get them back, beat the bad guy. No real mystery here.

Fallen Order takes place 5 years prior to this right? One would have to infer that if the agents of The Path don't know about that little incident, then Cal's group has largely remained isolated since then & clearly the Inquisitorious wouldn't have wanted that info getting out either so it was likely buried.

I see your point about the narrative being more simple but that's not really the focus of the show. It's about obi- wans state of mind, leia, reva and vader. The plot is there to drive their emotions and relationships. Star wars has always been more character driven. It's like this for all the movies and shows

We can see Tera Sinube. It's the first Jedi Obi-Wan looked at when he enterted the tomb. Also the underwater hallway scene and the moment Obi-Wan blocked the water is a reference to Vader blocking water at the exact same spot in Jedi: Fallen Order

Understand the criticism with not enough side plots etc.. but I like to think of ObiWan as a 6 hour movie rather than an actual show. If you think about it in movie terms, it's actually doing quite well story telling wise. Most one off films would not have tons of over-arcing threads to tie off as there just isn't the time. Love the content man. Always look forward to the breakdowns.

Personally I wish I felt as you did. This was the only episode I hated. So much inconsistency in story. Reva is still bland. Along with the other inquisitors. A blaster breaking the glass is ridiculous. As for Kenobi the first stormtrooper just reflects the lightsaber

I was really doubting this show until this episode where its clear that its taking its inspiration from the Star Wars sage which really works for me!
My favorite part was seeing Vader’s Jedi collection. A few didn’t look mint-in-box though, what with missing limbs and holes in the torsos. He’ll never get top-credit on the market in that condition, even with the ultra-rare younglings.

Cant say I was a fan. I feel like the entire series has been filler. No real plot progression. I don’t feel like obi wan has developed at all and nor has leia. I’m not a huge fan of how weak they have made him. It just seems poor story wroting and it’s a real shame for a show with so much potential. But if you can see the light in it and enjoy it for what it is that’s great. To me it’s just not what I ever wanted!

The action and work of the stunt people on this show is embarrassing.. It all looks like people in rehearsal before the actuall shoot.. I thought it was just the leia scenes but this episode proved even with the adults it just looks lazy and sloppy.. Like how does two trained soldiers get taken down by a slap and then have their gun taken?? Idk if it's Deborah chow or someone else but someone on the crew has no idea how to sell stunts and action.. It makes me worried about the next showdown with Obi Wan and Vader

I rather like the simple story here - it is about a broken and war-weary Obi Wan rediscovering his power, and they're showing us how needs forces him to become a warrior again. I love his arch so far. He's fallen so entirely, but we know he'll get back up. I suspect Reva won't survive this show, but she may redeem herself on the way.

My problem with this episode was the stakes were so low. We all know nothing is going to happen to either Leia or Obi-Wan. And having spent so little time with Tala, there was no real concern over her survival. This seemed more like a filler episode, which is fine if the show was longer but not for something that's only 6 episodes long.

I really enjoyed episode 4. Yeah, it might not be the best Star Wars ever made, but we have to stop expecting that. These are now basically TV shows pumped out to fit in already existing canon. It's better than no Star Wars.
But again, kudos to you getting these top notch videos out so quickly. You trim all the fat, and just get to all the meaty bits. Entertaining and very informative at the same time.
I only expect this to be logical, nothing more, a stormtrooper that can't shoot almost static Obi Wan from behind from 10 meters, Tala killing and imperial officer in the room with other imperial officers and no one noticed it, meh episode

ObiWanKenobi - The Return of the Escapes. After 4 episodes, the one thing i am left with, is how easily the escape every single time. In ep 2 on a auto transport, they had no ships to take it out or capture with, in ep3, oh no, they are behind a wall of fire on a planet we control, they got away. And now in ep4, a hangar full of tiefighters hanging
from the roof, not a single one is launched to combat the attacking ships. ships that got to a superbase without being detected.
Agreed about the lack of meat. All the Disney plus shows use the Saturday morning cartoon formula which is odd for live action. Watching Kenobi and then watching Stranger Things, it’s quite shocking how much better the latter is. Kenobi should be a full hour with more characters. They should be cutting to Bail and how this kidnapping sparks the rebellion. It should be cutting to Vader. Maybe even Owen and Beru in the first two episodes. Without multiple character arcs and no central goal besides “get Leia back” it’s too simplistic for me.
And if they kept cutting back to them you'd complain that they weren't focusing on Obi Wan... you know, like how other fans are complaining that the show is 100% Obi Wan all the time.

I read somewhere how each episode of this series mirror the original movies. So episode 1 would mirror phantom menace and so on. Best example I can give is episode 4 they rescue Lea from the death star and this the rescue her from the fort. It really fits if u read it and I'm sure the writers included it on purpose...
So far, I enjoy watching the episodes each week, but it never feels like the story is really getting anywhere. I think they either need to make these shows more than 6 episodes, or move things a little faster.

Episode 4 was amazing. Riff on the Death Star “sneakin’ around” from A New Hope. My favorite aspect of SW. And the emotions and drama are heightened with the direction of Deborah Chow.
