That type of installation will create a lot of excess noise through vibration. If you suspend the fan and filter from rubber cords most of the vibration will be absorbed by the elastic.
Omg your the ONLY VIDEO that shows how to install this! Wow I’m subscribing. Thank you so much man
Thank you. This was exactly the simple and to the point and *specific* help I needed. Keep up the good work.
Peggy A here supposed to take 10 foil and wrap up half of your carbon filter all carbon filters our only. 3 quarters or 79% of the way with carbon so there's going to go past the lease resistance spot meaning the spot at the top or the bottom whatever way you have it listed sitting or killed it and there's going to be no fucking carbon to filter out your smell so y'all want to know how to get past this take 10 foil and some electrical doc tape whatever and wrap half of your filter with 10 foil and leave the other half I want to the air only goes through one half of your filter working like it should then when it gets extremely dirty switch sides and you don't have to buy another filter you already had a whole nother half of your can fan filter to use just take the tent oil off rewrap the other side which is the bottom half of your filter look up videos on people wrapping half of their can filter because carbon only Falls 80 percent of it
Huhh just buy good product there's no need to be wrapping your filter with tinfoil lol
and inefficient
@@bluewidow9151 yeah you go throw away 50 bucks on a "good product" althewhile thinking it does anything more than my pringles can wrapped with tinfoil and filled with active carbon does. You go do that, it's your money. But you're really getting the short end here buddy
Thank you so much for posting this video, I now understand carbon filters :)
That was VERY informative. Thank you.
Awesome, I'm getting my own setup soon and will probably refer to this video
Very well explained and to the point.
Thank you! Very easy and uncomplicated
Good video men.information instructions in a few minutes. Very good
Thank you, liked and subscribed.
Jason yes you can mount the fan outside the tent. Just be sure to mount your carbon filter at the top of your tent as heat rises and collects up there. The video stated that the carbon kills mold and pythium. That is a fallacy. All the carbon does is trap it.
Also if your going to run MH or HPS 600-1000w like I do that wimpy little fan shown is not going to get the job done IMHO. I run a Canfan with 740 cfm in a 8'8' tent. And the fan is mounted outside of the tent for more head room. Always remember in setting up ventilation that you want the fan to pull not push. Its more efficient that way. Always have your fan at the end of the vent line
Perfect vid!
Thank so much dude !!
Simple & sweet nice
Amazing 👏
I will be receiving my MarsHydro Reflector 144 sometime this week and I couldn't be more happy with the choice I've made. I plan on using this light to flower/veg in a 2x4x5 tent. My ceilings aren't very tall as to why I went with a 5 footer. My biggest concern is what I should do about exhaust/ventilation? There are passive air flaps on the bottom of the tent, two 6 inch ventilation holes on the sides of the tent, and one 8 inch ventilation hole on the top of the tent.
Will I have room to install a 6 inch carbon filter/fan combo along with the Reflector inside of the tent? Do you recommend keeping the fan outside of the tent and the filter inside to save space?
Thank you all for any help, I'm hoping at least a few of you can guide me in the right direction?
it all depends on temps outside and how much fresh cool air you can pull in, lots of variables...
Thanks for the weight (increase by 20%->filter is full) info.
Can i hang my 4" carbon filter on it's end (pointing downwards), with ducting attached to fan on floor, pulling air downwards?
I did it myself and it’s way easier!
my filter pushes through 3 tubed lights and out the tent into a vacant B vent. I have a smaller fan bringing fresh air from outside in cooler weather and from A/C basement in summer. Also have my a/c ducts in basement connected to vents in top of the tent. I only run a 600 in the summer and have the tent partitioned. Have all my stock ready for bud cycle in late Sept..
Hey, how long is your tubing in total or was?
How many kinds of plants can be included in your this tent,we have such eight kinds tent in our stock.
So is the duct that connects the fan and filter a part of the tent? or do you have to buy it from else where and connect the duct to the fan and tent yourself? THX!
im a bit confused what size carbon filter would i need for a 120x120x200 tent im using a 600w led and do i need to cover the tents air vents and buy an intake fan if want to hide odor or will i be safe forgetting about the intake fan and just leaving the air vents uncovered as long as i have a carbon filter in the tent i no its probably a dumb question but im really confused id be thankfull for any advice
Fresh air comes in from bottom of the vents? Is that just the tents vents? So no fan is needed to push air in?
how do ventilation during vegetation? i need to use extractor in the tin of vegetation? thanks
nice!!!
Where the hell do you get all those extra roof support I constantly have a problem of not having enough of them and I also had to put wood shims in between where I didn't want them to pull together and throw my equipment through the side of the tent as I have to use the bars of the 10 and I don't have the luxury of having two extra bars to hang down anywhere I want like you do I would love to know where you get them from I have a 5 by 5 gorilla tent and a 4 by 8 Galaxy tent. Both extremely heavy duty bars and covers but shy of those roof beams I want
Wt size intake fan you looked up to the carbon filter looking for that size please let me know
How long the carbon filter remove smells for before 20% is added to the weight?
What type of time should my imine fan filter combo bo on so I don't suck out all the co2 tent is 48×28×60 or can I hook it uip and just leave it running the whole time
I fitted my filter 1 month ago and have not turned it on yet cos still just a little odor from the plants, is this ok to do it this way.
I will wait till the scent starts to leak out then use it cos it seems a waste of electric using it for nothing, Is the c02 you mention gained by opening the tent up to expel bad air or do I nee another piece of gear to suck air in.
I check my plants at least 7 times a day lol
Im running 2 of these. Dual exhaust baby!
Thinking of doing the same, how did it go?

Wouldn't the fan pull out more air by being inside the tent and the carbon filter outside of tent?
Another thing to help me, do I add all the nutes together in one serving or do they need done apart from the others, Got a nice looking plant 1 month from seed around 5'' high at the moment. How do I get it to grow faster.lol
The actual long size is not important for cleaning but for sound supressing. Its about how much carbon you have
Kinda surprised they have the duct coming out the top of the tent at a 90 degree angle when they could have had it going out straight through at a 180. A 90 degree bend in your duct will cripple air flow, unless you have a decent enough inline fan.
I was going to tell this too
he explained why in the video "air on the ground is often 5 degrees cooler" he put it at the top of the tent because that's where all the heat rises to the top of the tent so you're extracting the hot air from the room and not the cooler air at the bottom. Also that fan could be oversized to begin with and pulls more cfm than the actual cubic feet of the tent
dave setchell youd be suprised those little powerful fans are unbelievably powerful.
What if you mount the filter on the exhaust side like on the outside of ur tent? Would it still work for odor control?
What way is the air flow? Blowing in to carbon filter or sucking from the carbon filter
simple y sencillo
does the filter and inline fan eliminate smell, heat and humidity problems?
What about the CFM for your filter fan and grow tent for people that don't understand?
sure that this cheap polish dospel fan have enough power for the filter?
What’s the smaller inch fan you can use on a 3 meter by 3 meter tent
If your not concerned with odor do you need the filter?
Thats a 300m3 filter and 1m2 x 1m2 tent?
hey guys what size filter kit you recommend for 2-3 square meter ?
I have question about your video, when you installed your fan in the video did you connect the sucksion part of the fan to the duct work to pull air from outside of the tent into the tent?
No, the suction part should pull through the filter and blow into the ducting that exits the tent. This creates vacuum inside the tent allowing us to control the intake air and filter it properly.
does the ducting that comes off the carbon filter then go out of the tent at the top and back in at the bottom as a air inlet im really confused to whever you need a outlet fan and a inlet fan could you help please i dont fully understand.
good video. quick question: is it a big deal to rig a 4" carbon scrubber to a 6"inline fan-using a reducer?
marty keller not gonna hurt anything but it will pull the air through too fast not scrubbing as well
What size tent is that? Is it on your website?
2 thumbs up!!
How does the air get into carbon filter with no opening in the end ?
Do the blades face the filter or the duct?
If your using a grow tent in a shed outdoors where the temperature isn't like to be much about 20C would you be ok just with the lights etc and now extraction fan and filter?
you may want to get a space heater but if it's in the summer it should be fine, but if you live in an area that isn't warm all year round then definetly get a space heater.
will my plants grow good if i have air from my room instead of a duck fan blowing fresh air from outside into the tent
How long should one last? Any Maintenence?
Why the big sock like cloth around it? Heat? Thanks good video
You must have watched the video without sound.......
Thats a big filter for a little tent haha
Does the filter suck out all your CO2? Can't you recirculate?
Si el ducto de ventilacion de aluminio queda asi es muy poco el aire que circulara
hey guys, just got a question.
i got my exhaust juts hanging on the outside of my tent, is it ok if its like that or do i really need to have it going outside?
Yes it's fine hanging out side tent blowing in to room as long as you also have fresh air also coming in the tent lower vents window open etc.
I have one 100*100*180 cm marshydro grow tent, anyone can tell me what size of filter or fans I should use?
Am I supposed to direct the airflow towards the carbon filter or away.? I have a air duct with a in-line fan , but I can’t comprehend which way the air flow goes , and why
away so it pulls the air through the carbon filter, directing airflow to it will defeat the purpose because it's filtering air outside the tent.
what are the dimensions of the carbon filter used?
for everyone without a huge scale how do we know when to change it
20% increase in weight of ur filter or if you wanna be extra safe change it after 2 grows
So where do i put the muffler....can i even have two mufflers, left and right of the fan with the carbon filter together? thank you
it is just a fan that sucks in air and pushes it out through a filter. you could have multiple filters and a single fan or multiple fans and a single filter as long as there is not too much air for the filter to be able to handle.
Hey should you use tape like you guys did on the filter to the fan and should you hook it up to a timer our have it on 24 hrs
cjose69 It should really be on 24 hours a day
...
Thanks for showing us how to struggle with setting up a tent.
Where's the video on the filter installation?
Do you have to filter it outside
what kinda tape is that?
What to stop rats and any other insects entering the hole outside of tent?
One question: Can the fan be placed at the end of the duct outside the tent?
+wirikuta14 1 other question do u leave it on when lights out
how long does it typically take for the carbon filter to gain the 20% extra weight?
sam b typically or car event filter will not came any weight because if you're not taking 10 file or anytime of tape paper or anything to cover have of the top of the can filter its not going to be working properly
I buy old filters and put new carpet in them
Saddest fucking thing is they get $100 and every single one is hilltop a 80% so what y'all need to know take York and fan said it straight up take the top half that connects to the fan take half of the filter and wrap paper or 10 foil around it what happens is the air goes through the least resistance spot which is the part where there's no carbon so its not even working until you take 10 for low and wrap the top half part where there's no carbon to make the air go through the carving part and block the lease resistant part
Call thing about doing this is when the bottom half gets dirty you just switch your tent oil to the bottom half of your filter rewrite it and now you got a whole brand new filter still but you still have to put your sleep over top of it when you wrap it you still use the extra filter sleeve and just slides over the 10 foil
jonny c 2.0 what
EXACTLY. WTF is he trying to say? Jonny, you suck at explaining things. I hope you don't have kids. Stay off the weed...
Johnyy we arnt talking about setting up a meth lab ok my dude
@Methamphetameme wtf are you talking about? Or is this a sock puppet account
Oh the air gets pumped out side the tent into your room? I thought I was going to have to make a hole in the wall to pump outside
Do what you want.
You can of course get a longer tube and direct it outside of your room (out of the window for example).
But basically, what the filter does is: It "filters" the cannabis smell, so if you have a good one, there shouldnt be much of a smell in your room if you only have up to 4 plants.
1:53 LOL
Youre so hi to do it baby
what size fan is tht ?
Is it best to put the filter and fan inside or outside the tent
Is it possible to grow in a tent without fans intake and outake system.??
thanks very much for your help and advice:)
ok
Is it ok to setup your filter and fan on the floor of the tent and vent out of the roof?
yes but the biggest reason for having it on the ceiling is to exhaust heat.. it wont exhaust heat if its on the floor ..
I keep forgetting to clean my cover
y do i need to run the exhaust from the filter outside
Yo this was a stupid easy tutorial 🙏
The material used probably doesnt allow a proper fitting.. Even if it did duct tape would still ensure a solid seal
Does the carbon filter remove all smells?
yes even weed
what kind of fan was that, that you had zip tied to your the roof
thanks
I saw a video where a guy did not have the white soft "isolation-material" around his carbon filter, what is the point of having it or not having it?
+David Thorstensson it's a pre-filter to keep any rubbish/dust out the main filter
What size is that filter
Do I need to use the extractor fan constantly or can it be on intermittently for 2 600W?
you need to move all out the tent in one mins. do the math.4 by 4 tent times how tall. buy the appropriate fan to do the job. basic math.
you should of learned by now. if not give up.
I have probably a dumb question. Why are we purifying air that we are pulling out of the grow tent and not they air we allow in? I just trying to understand the process. I feel like this setup pulls the crappy air from inside the tent and the air filter cleans it and then shoots cleaner air out the exhaust pipe. Why don't we instead PULL air into the tent with the purifier so that way the plants have better protection?
If the filter catches mold and mildew as it pulls the air out of the tent doesn't that mean the filter full with the mold and mildew is sitting right inside the tent?
You can have a filter for both intake and exhaust but it’s not 100% necessary so I think people do the exhaust only because it will still pull air in the intakes by creating air pressure
so if the carbon filter is sucking all the bad air out of the tent how do you replace it would you have another fan sucking fresh air into the tent from the bottom vent? and if so would you time them to both be working at the same time or would you use one or the other at any 1 time? this is really helpfull by the way so thanks.
have both running at the same time, get a fan speed controller and have them adjusted to a lower setting when ur lights are off so your garden doesnt get too cold
@Tin Tizzy it sucks
Do you have any products I can review for your company
Do you need a carbon filter? I plan on buying just a exhaust fan and ducting
Yes mate u need 1or u be blowing weed smell around the place
Weed smells ALOT.
Without filter, your whole room will stink like hell lol.
i'm making a new gaming pc setup.. .. and i want to know what do you recommend to get a roam clear of dust...& sorry for my english : )
I usually take a duster and go around wiping the room down. I typically vacuum first and clean my windows while I am at it. Once sometimes several times a week give it a shot let me know how it works!
Can you put the inline fan outside the tent to save a little space or does it haft to be directly behind the carbon filter thax
in theory, you could, this will however mess with your temperatures in tent, so make sure temperature will not kill your plants.
yes you can and most do that .. no idea how it would make it hotter like that other guy said??
Major Greenz well, the heat from lamps have to go somewhere...unless you are using LED ligths.
the heat get pulled through the filter. and led lights get hot too
what size is that little fan ? I'm looking for a quiet fan to clean air only , not c cooling a light , what's my best option ?
get a Can Brand Fan with a Can Brand filter or Phresh (brand) filter. Lots of the other brands of fans just all apart after 6 months or so. Can-Fans are supposed to be the best in the business. At least that's what I've found so far. And they're quiet too.
Hyper fan! These are top notch! Most CFM per watts of power... And quiet. Check out video reviews!!!
1:12 is that the fan he's holding??
yes
How does the air get into the carbon filter it looks sealed?
The end is capped. The air gets pulled in all around the outer surface of the filter inward.
at what stage of the grow should you turn the filter on?
+mac flowering or whenever you want
is the carbon filter necessary??
ya its good to smoke after your project : ) where as not to Over think everything
gotta learn to edit some time down
