Because nursing is synonymous with healthcare. You can be anything from an LPN passing PO meds in a nursing home all the way up to a Ph.D. who was the interim surgeon general of the United States.
I agree with the dress code idea. Although I am super into fashion when I go to work I really don’t want to think about what I have to wear. I leave the slaying for outside the hospital.
I 100% agree with this list! The most important part to me is the option and opportunity for higher education with the promise of job security at the end. So many people pursue their masters/doctorate and then have trouble finding jobs that pay in correlation to their level of education. So they end up underpaid and bitter. Nursing, the sky is the limit and no decision is permanent! Great video. Sharing to all who are on the fence about nursing school.
my manager with a masters just found out middle management is being cut back, and now she is along the side with me bedside nursing. same pay. bedside nursing is probably the safest bet
Wow great point! I know someone whose in that exact boat, went and got their masters only to be doing a job a person with an associate or bachelors degree could do
I'm a nursing student now and I just want to share my reasons here, I wish I could say it was some kind of higher calling, but I just wanted a job security and a line of work where I could interact with people and see the results of my work every single day, nursing turned out to be the best choice, a job presenting me an intellectual challenges requiring critical thinking and human interaction on daily basis , professionally and personally rewarding work.
Love your videos!! All of your content on nursing is amazing and so helpful. I’m in the process of making a career change to nursing and have been very nervous about it but every time I watch one of your videos it seems like the best decision in the world. I think the most important reason is never getting burnt out bc of the lateral mobility and opportunity for higher education. Thanks for all of your insight into this field, your videos are beyond helpful 💗💗💗
I love this video! I take my nclex tomorrow , I’m straight out of college with my BSN, and this gave me motivation and reminded me of all the reasons why I chose this great field! I love nursing because I was able to get a job secured way before graduation, and many of my classmates as well. I have a new grad position in the cardiac surgery ICU at a level 1 trauma Magnet teaching hospital starting soon!. I hope to go the CRNA route eventually. I love your channel because it gives me a bit of insight into what life will be like. But for now I’m focused on gaining as much experience as I can as an ICU nurse. You are awesome!
Kari Business thank you! It went well I finished in 75 questions. Got the good pop up with the Pearson vue trick! I’m pretty sure I passed but I will pay for the quick results on Wednesday and update you guys!
These are great reasons and I definitely think the travel nurse option is magnifico. I'd be interested in seeing a list of reasons males go into the nursing field. With society often perpetuating the notion that men are doctors and women are nurses it would be a nice contrast to see if men have the same reasons they chose nursing as you did.
Well said Rhianna! Nursing is such a rewarding field to be in. I like what you said about job security! I want to travel and live in different states, knowing that I can easily find a job wherever I go is awesome!
Nursing is the most safe and always increasing reward. The hospital experience leads to your higher salary. Nursing is the most trusted and respected profession all over the world. I am perceiving my bachelor's in this. Being a student nurse, i realised that the percentage of nurses in each country is lacking. Nurses are always job secured, the all mentions done by you are truly commendable. Yes we get less salary in the beginning, but it is not false that our salary increases with our experience. Thank you so much mam. Your words has hit the hearts of thousands nurses who are going to make a real change in the people lives. Love 💕 u so much
I love your channel!! You are so helpful - I’m hoping to go to nursing school and eventually would love to be either a FNP or CRNA. Please keep making videos!!😘
I am a guy who is thinking of a career in nursing. Both my male and female friends are mocking me, calling me a faggot. Why would they think like this? Overall nurses are actually closer to the suffering of the patient.
I love what I do. I’ve been an RN for 5 years and prior to that an LPN for 15. I did the LPN route first because I didn’t know if I could go straight for my RN. My daughter was 3, and it was a sacrifice, but I always had flexibility with my schedule with raising my kids. I later completed my RN in 2013 and LOVE what I do. It is very hard work, but I can’t imagine doing anything different. I’m on my way towards my BSN then CRNA if life allows, if not I’ll complete NP. I just have to see that I can save and afford school so it doesn’t hurt me with student loans. My husband admires the field so much, he just completed ADN program passed his boards and is currently working as a second career at the age of 50. He loves what he does and never thought he would be a nurse, it’s hysterical watching him put on his man-ly compression socks. Thank you so much for your videos, your journey is so inspiring. Thank you.
I love the content. I'm a nursing assistant or psw here in North America. I was looking for an inspiration and found your content. You have a wonderful attitude about Nursing. Thank you 😊
I would also like to see a video on optimizing your nursing schedule. As nurses, we strive to optimize the lives of others, so a schedule optimization video would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much as a high schooler this only makes me want to be a nurse more. I love that there is job security because it’s sooo important to me. And I love scrubs so much hahaha
I completely agree! I think nursing is an awesome career! I am currently a nursing student in my last year of nursing school and I am also a nurse intern. I think you've pretty much highlighted the major reasons why nursing is a great field. I personally love that I have 4 days off! I only work three 12-hour shifts a week and I love that. Great video! I actually would like to hear you talk about some of the cons of nursing or just things you don't like about it. I personally do not like how at my hospital, nurses are limited to what we can wear. We can only wear certain types of scrubs and certain colors. This isn't too big of a deal, but it's just something I'm not a big fan of. What are some things you don't like about nursing?
Thank You for all the content you create and share. You are also very real life entertaining. This is so helpful to me as I decide my path in healthcare.
Thank you so much... I was always really interested in Anastasia, an being in the surgery room... I have had to have 3 ACL reconstructions an all 3 times the CRNA was always super awesome an made me feel way better an relaxed( literally 😂) anyways y’all really do make the world a better place. An I think that’s why I want to consider this career.. thank you. Also I’m in high school an I was jus curious on any extra things I could be doing.. anyways thank you!
Is the sched actually flexible? After like a year do You get a say in ur hours? My biggest concern going into nursing is working nights and messing up my circadian rhythm. I really don’t want a life time of doing that . Thank you for the help!!
Great video!!!! Thank you!!!! I just had a conversation with a woman who made me think twice about my current degree program I'm in. I think I may be switching.
Thanks Rhianna! Question for you-do you have any friends who went on to get their CNM? That’s something I’m interested in pursuing and would love to hear more about it!
Hi I remember in one of your video I think you said you attended JMU for nursing unless you didnt my apologies. Was that a direct entry? I also live in Virginia and wanted to know what the best nursing colleges in Virginia were because I heard UVA was good but hard to get in and GMU was good and for my gpa seems more realistic.
I love your videos!!! I am thinking to make a job switch to nursing and I am 25 this year so I could only go to nursing school next year and graduate when I am 27-28. Do you know of anyone who made a job switch into nursing?
Is it meaningful to be abused and overworked? Who doesn't love helping people? But let's get real. Big healthcare treats us like commodities and machines. Big health care no longer sees nurses as sentient human beings with feelings and physical needs. I honestly cannot remember the last time anybody in management or otherwise ever came and made sure we were getting a break. A 12-hour shift and we are happy if we get a 30 minute break? It's now considered a privilege to get a break. So sick and terrible and evil and sad what is happening with healthcare. It is corrupt beyond imagination and it is all about money. 31 years as a nurse and I can remember when it was rewarding when it was better. It's only gotten worse and continues to get worse. Everybody knows it. I don't know of one nurse who is happy and loves their job. Why do you think people are moving around to get the travel money? We are being squeezed until every last drop of blood and sweat is given to the corporation.
nursing embodies all of the traits i want to nurture in myself ❤️ caring for people, being there for people in hard times and being able to make a difference, compassion, empathy, and meaning❤️

Yes! That is so important because obviously there are some not so great parts too. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks Rhianna! Question for you-do you have any friends who went on to get their CNM? That’s something I’m interested in pursuing and would love to hear more about it!
I've worked with people who did! I don't know anyone very well but if I think of someone I'll try to do a video with them.
6 days on 8 days off working how many hours?? 8 or 12 per day?
thx you for your explanation :)
You're welcome!
Never thought about the scrubs part. Nice way to save cutback and save on street wear and keep your soles looking fresh. ✨👟 🤔
Did you ever think of going the pre med route, going to med school and into anesthesiology instead of nursing and going into a crna program?
I just filmed a video on that! It will be out in a week or 2 😊

Hi! Yes I attended JMU and it was guaranteed acceptance from PVCC where I got my ADN. I forget the exact rule but I think you had to have a 3.0.
I love your videos!!! I am thinking to make a job switch to nursing and I am 25 this year so I could only go to nursing school next year and graduate when I am 27-28. Do you know of anyone who made a job switch into nursing?

Medical surgical nursing. Basically everything you could ever think of!

Aw thanks!
Why are there so few men in nursing?
I miss travel nursing with you!!! Let's go back to Maui 🏝
Take me with you! Will clean for food.
Yes let's go! 😘
Great reasons! However, beeing a nurse can be really hard, but very rewarding at the same time. Respect to all the nurses ❤👍
