This was great. Btw, how to get Arnold viewport renderer (like 1:33)? I have Viewport 2.0 and Legacy Viewports only in the list. My cpu (Ryzen 2600) does support Arnold and gpu is nvidia GTX1060.
Thanks for the comment. This scene was produced by a team here at Autodesk on the Hyperspace Madness project, so I can't take credit for all the work to put this together. See: area.autodesk.com/hyperspacemadness/
When you change to ACES workflow in the preferences does it keep changed for every new scene or do you have to set it again? I think ACES workflow should come already set by default in Maya and Arnold.
So the bad news is that the default View Transform is sRGB gamma (there's a reason for that, but I won't get into it here). The good news is that you can forcefully override that using a Color Management "policy". help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-AE1F72ED-FA00-4E81-8027-785E3D6058F7
@@robinsonbazurtoorrego6541 Hmm, and you're sure you made an Arnold skydome? Out of curiosity, what happens if you make a normal skydome via the Create > Lights menu?
@@robinsonbazurtoorrego6541 Ah yes, that would be the reason why. Viewport 2.0 Skydome support was added in Maya 2017 Update 2 (available to subscribers). If you're running vanilla 2017 then that would explain why you can't see it.
Depends if you mean at the same time or one at a time. For playblasts or hardware 2.0 renders you will need to have the active view be the camera you want by clicking anywhere on the viewport if using playblast, if using hardware 2.0 then you will need to specify in the rendering settings or image sequence options.
@@Burnzs Are you sure your lights are turned on (press 7 in the Viewport)? If so, then yes it could be your version. IBL Viewport lighting was added in 2017.2
next to the texture button for viewport there is a wire frame button on the left. Uncheck it and you should be golden :) This is exactly what Laurence is mentioning below!
Thank you for this! It is perfect for an Animator Showreel when you don't know anything about lighting or rendering
Great tutorial, didn't know you could use the Arnold skylight to create ambient lighting in viewport 2.0
This was great.

Ensure you are using Maya 2018 and update your Arnold plugin for Maya and you should be good to go. www.arnoldrenderer.com/arnold/download/#maya
the quality is great. Some real time reflections in maya's viewport would be amazing. I mean 100% reflections, not just hdrimap reflections.

gives us maya 2019, where is it? 3ds max is in 2019 update 3, did maya broke or just waiting for Arnold GPU with RTX?.
Hi, when i create a skydome it does not produce any light in the viewport, it is only visible if i do a render. How can i fix this?
Turn on lights in the Viewport by clicking the small lightbulb icon. Also make sure that all your objects have Arnold materials applied to them.
@@Autodesk_Maya I already had done that, but the skydome does not produce any light in the viewport, regardless.

A big company like Autodesk should be able to invest in a better microphone for it's RUclips videos... :)
You should be investing in quality headphones

how to make a hd playblast in maya 2017 sir
You can control the resolution in the Playblast option box
@@Autodesk_Maya ok sir thanks
CAN U SHRE THE HDR
It's included in the scene file linked in the description.
First of all how did you animate that because i don't see any key frames?
He doesn't have the character specifically selected, but if you scrub the time line you can still see the animation.
okay, thanks
Arnold skylight ist working for me
Are other lights working?

@@Burnzs Then I'd recommend updating to a newer version. The Viewport has undergone a lot of work in the last few releases.
A lot of time I have weird playblasts with Wireframe and AA on... anyone else has the same issue?
If you have "wireframe on shaded" turned on for the viewport, that will end up in the playblast. See the shading menu on top of the viewport.
