I just got my 1st. A Daisy power line 880. And I'm already wishing i got a more expensive one. But from 3 days of watching videos and reading about air rifles not many had anything bad to say about this one. It does feel cheap and i hate all the plastic! But i think this will be perfect for me for now. But i can already see myself really getting into this and i just want a wood and metal air rifle that is a size up from the . 117 but all in time. I would love to hear what you think about the rifle you got!?
Make sure to oil the spring on that gamo! I didn't when I bought mine and it broke after about a couple years. It was pretty accurate for a cheaper airgun. Cheers...
Thanks Dr Russ for the informative air rifle cleaning, I’ve now got both Air Ventures the Bull Pup & the Adventure in 22cal & they are both very accurate from 25 yards to 60 yards which is real life distances I usually shoot from but also have the FX Maverick VP IN 25 cal which I must say is very well made & is my go to rifle for bigger varmints being out in the woods shooting but do enjoy the very low price of the air venture rifles which are both regulated as you know. I also just purchased the Ameristep Ten Chair Ground blind which gives me great cover. When I do look for a new air rifle to add to my guns I insist that the barrels as you say must be 20” long or very close to it plus regulated. Thanks from the Florida Veteran Bob Malone. @@russjones7981 yes your right it’s hard to go back to other rifles after the FX but I use my cheaper rifles mostly for plinking on my acres & if need be I can hunt small game with them easily & the 22 pellets are easily available locally & quite cheap. I may buy another FX to have a back up in 25 but also they have interchangeable barrels in different calibers as you know. If I get one more I’ll have all the rifles I need in my arsenal of air rifles being I can buy other cal barrels for my FX air rifles. Iam looking at the Dream lite line up of FX rifles. Iam looking for a night vision scope so if you have any suggestions on that please let me know as you know the night vision scopes we had in Viet Nam era were poor quality compared to what we have available to us now days. But about the cleaning pellets section I think the old kitchen/cooking/cleaning stuff is the way to go....
Just get citric accid and baking soda , warm water and let it react for a while (do not let it sit whole night though).
Do this a few times and rinse the pellets,then some dishsoap and rinse them once more.
Dry them overnight and lube them (no silicone lube though!)
I use old faithful 2-stroke lube but just enough ...
do NOT overdo it!!
Doing this for ages and I am sure your gun likes it !!
Note: your vid about upside down storage is a great tip sir thx 😊.
For sure accuracy is always your trigger finger and making sure the other (many) thingies are smooth you have a girl who will shoot as hoped for...

Thank you Russ very informative and helpful as usual, washing pellets helps keep the barrel clean for longer and worth the effort. I notice that when my barrel is dirty I can trace the path of the pellet through the scope easier. Here in the UK🇬🇧 we are restricted to sub 12ft lb guns so the pellet travels slow enough to trace through the scope . I hunt once a week so I clean my rifle probably every 300 shots just routine maintenance and keep a note in my game diary so I can keep track of what I shoot and when I have cleaned my rifle last. I use lukewarm water and just a spot of washing up liquid in glass swill the pellets around in the glass gently to degrease . Place pellets in a sieve and rinse off under the tap, then place the pellets on to paper kitchen towel and dry them off with the wife’s hair dryer 👍. The washed pellets are placed back in the tin and sprayed very lightly with a product called pellet lube made by a company called Napier. Napier pellet lube comes in a handy spray bottle and works a treat 👍

I live in Gloucestershire but my ancestors came from Wales 🏴. @@nigelbase1196Sub 12 best bag 65 crows in a day , Did 65 crows in a day twice in the last three years, and a 63 bag . Good few 50 bird bag days, and a boat load of 30 bird days. 90%crows over decoys, only had bags of 25 wood pigeons in a day as I tend to go after crows more than anything. Try to decoy my Crows to about 30yds when ever possible and take head shots. Here in the UK there’s no bag limit on crows or pigeons so you can shoot as many as you possibly can.
Sub 12 ft 177 and good decoys 👍🇬🇧

Dr. Russ, Just a quick note to you saying hello, and introducing myself. I just made my first air gun purchase (a Gamo Swarm Fusion 10X Gen2 .177cal) and was trying to learn as much as I can to make the most of the experience. I really appreciate learning proper cleaning of pellets, and how to treat the inside of the barrel to prep for shooting. I am typically a maintenance junky as that I was raised to preserve all my tools and toys to help them last. This falls right in line with that and how to properly take care of my new pellet gun. Trying to do things right, with all the details to have a successful experience. I was excited to find your videos, learning so much from them, and I have to say thank you for the great info and instruction! The other fun fact is I also live in Michigan, Warren to put it in perspective. Looking forward to following your videos in the future. Take good care, and hope to share correspondence in the future! Drewzin14 ... it is good to hear from you and you have started with a great air gun... keep in mind that the 177 caliber shoots at a high velocity ... but not necessarily accurate at those higher velocities ... and especially beyond 35 yards ... so consider heavier pellets when you want to reach out further and accurately. I will have to investigate the heavier pellets, and try them out to see which types, produces best performance with this particular air rifle. Thank you also for your response! ...I may have more questions as I go forward, as I am learning. The only thing I have owned to this point is my .45 S&W performance center 1911. I felt this new endeavor would be great for fun in the back yard plinking, as well as a little garden protection to be honest... I have several buddies who are big into hunting, but never thought I'd get into that colder weather adventure.... Now, I might just change my mind as I really enjoy this! Take great care!! Hello Dr. Russ, I'm wondering if have a video that actually shows you oiling the pellets, do you set each one up and spray or do you put them all in a container and then spray them , would like to see that part.I just imported a Walther Rotex EM8 PCP .22 , I was wondering what your thoughts are on that rifle. Eric ... it is good to hear from you. I usually spray a good shot lasting a full second into a can, and then replace the lid and roll it around a little. I dont own or have ever shot a Walther Rotex ... but I know that Walther makes great barrels and that reduces the time needed to break a barrel in. Dr. Russ

Excellent videos. Detox your liver doc. Also, make a habit of drinking Clove tea daily, 6 cloves per 1/2ltr; with a pinch of a teaspoon of Neem and Moringa. Add to the mixture Hawthorn berries. Lemon and honey. You are too valuable to die prematurely. Adding a couple spoons of dry yeast to your porridge does wonders. Keep shaking away. HOOYA.

I know I commented on this topic a while back had to re-visit it a friend of mine found 4 big tins of Beeman pellets so I had to refresh my memory on what you use to lub them after cleaning they were prity much like they are when you buy them so a light cleaning in dawn I just couldn't remember what you used to lube you mentioned Ballistol which I alredy have so I guess I'm all set BTW how much would you use on say a tin of 500 thanks once more Dr Russ

Just got my 1st Gamo 10X Magnum Gen2 Air Rifle and wanted to know if I should clean the barrel & brand new pellets that I purchased before firing it for the first time, or is it okay to start shooting right out of the box. Sorry for elementary question, but I'm a newbie to air pellet shooting.
rk ... it is good to hear from you ... and shooting right out of the box is what your gun was designed to do. Just know that their is a cosmoline ... or thick grease in the barrel that ultimately must be removed, by cleaning or shooting. There is also some new rifling that under a microscope, has rough edges and shavings that need to be removed and smoothed out. A magnifying glass would also show pits in the lands between the rifling edges. these need to be filled in with lead (referred to as "leading in" ) which all together provides what we call a smooth barrel ... and smooth barrels provide tighter target groups. Sometimes it take 200 to 500 shots to get the smoothness we are looking for. In the meantime, store your air gun with the barrel down on a rag, so that any particles or dirt fall out the end, instead of down into the breach area. Dr. Russ
Dr.Russ I recently put a regulator on my Hatsan Bull Boss and I'm trying to filled up and the air by those holes by the where emblem goes in left hand side what I do wrong when I put the regulator.

Dr Russ. In the uk I'm currently using an Air Arms Hft500 PCP and using z Nspier pull through kit to clean the barrel once it is clean would you leave the barrel dry or use a pull through wad with a slight coating of barrel cleaner on for protection
T J Snapper ... keep in mind that cleaning the barrel is one thing ... and rust will develop over long periods of time if left totally clean ... but your main focus should always be to keep that air transfer port clean of any dirt or lead ... so I would pull thru a swab of oil ... but then store rifle barrel down on a rag... Yes... they put grease in the barrel since it has no paint or rust inhibitor.... and if you shoot it before cleaning that barrel ... it can smoke... so keep it outside until you know for sure... stay in touch ... Dr Russ

It is good to hear from you @bertcochran6504 ... and thanks for the compliment... Our home is 25 years old and those are the same white cabinets that were originally installed in the kitchen.... We had the home appraised about 12 years ago and a realtor was called to determine its value... The realtor told us that the white cabinets were dated and we should have them replaced before we sold it.... Well, we didn't sell it and lastly, we laughed at the 13 years since every time we see a cabinet ad. Their photo has always showed white cabinets. Hello Dr. Russ. I have been watching several of your videos today as a new subscriber to your channel. GREAT channel, Sir!!!! I have been a longtime firearms lover, advocate, and I have had the privilege and opportunity to teach and bring others to this incredible Constitutional, God given right or ours. (I will stop there on that subject...... before I have to take more blood pressure medicine.) Keep up the great videos! On a side note, one thing I came up with after watching this particular video about cleaning the barrel and seeing the Gamo cotton barrel cleaning "pellets" you spoke of, was to try a LUBE'd (not oiled) piece of my wife's pure cotton face wipes to use in place of the commercial barrel cleaners. I would supply a picture here, but not able to. I like creating my own items if at all feasible and I have to tell you, my little idea worked very well. I should have taken before and after pics of the barrel, but I didn't. Just thought I'd thrown this out there as a suggestion, obviously if you'd approve it. Thank again for all your informative videos!!!!

my new gamo replay 10 did diesel a alot the first time shooting. Smoke came out the breech and it smelled like burned grease. Cleaned the barrel and the patches came out black from all the soot. I hope it will get more accurate... it made supersonic cracks with 7.7 grain pellets, even tough it's supposed to have onle 17.5 ft lbs of power... very odd. Sprayed awfully at 30 yards. Hope this gets better with breaking in, cleaning and good heavier pellets.

@@russjones6497 I'll keep you updated! I dissassembled it and found it was excessivley greasy... i'm talking about lumps on the spring. I degreased it and gave it a very light ballistol coating. Dieseled on 5 shots after that. When i have time to bring it to the range and put 200 trough it, i'll inform you if the accuracy changed. BTW, i made the rear end of the spring ever so slightly lighter by heating it up, this reduced the trigger weight a bit.
I saw a folding suppressor mount a while back apparently it works well I would love to see you do a review on that. It should work on most airguns because it comes in different types like m18 ect I think it should accommodate 50 caliber as well but I would have to check on that.

Hey Dr. Russ, how about this Idea for "Leading-in" and cleaning an air gun barrel/rifling, take the cotton wads, put jewelers rouge on them, them shoot them; will it polish the barrel and help remove all of the machining burrs from the rifling? Hmmm? Cheers Mate...

A shrouded barrel alone has no baffles... so it doesn't muffle sound as well... as a moderated barrel ... or a suppressor ...or both... a shrouded barrel alone hides how small the barrel really is ... (straw size)... at the same time ... the Seneca air rifle has a great reputation and is rumored to be the manufacture of the Air Venturi Venger Air rifles. Dr Russ

this is my opinion but I think this video would be more effective if it was less of what you don't want to do or what you don't need, and less of hypothetical scenarios for other guns that your not working on in this specific video. because at the end I'm not even sure I learned what I set out to learn about cleaning air rifles. otherwise thank you for taking the time to make an informative video.

DR Russ i have clean kit for my 177 cal for bulldog.357 i have rod and barrel swob and pelican oil clean bullet or pellet dawn and water and air dry that all i do nothing harsh and i do not take apart

It would help ... but I wouldn't do it....it is a lot of trouble and could be a bigger project than you think... Dr. Russ

Steve... some people never clean air guns while others do... Keep in mind to clean it only infrequently and never with a wire brush ... which de - leads the barrel... Dr. Russ
I have a Crosman Vigilante Revolver that shoots salt primarily for flies in the house and yard. What’s the best stuff to clean it out with so it don’t rust? Links or brands would be appreciated
McGuinness ... Keep in mind that salt and the pneumatic air parts in your gun don't do well together unless they are cleaned out regularly. While I dont own or have shot that particular air gun, consider keeping the barrel down so that any salt particles fall out the barrel rather than down into the pneumatic parts. Secondly, I would use any oil base cleaner, to keep your barrel from rusting. Let us know how you do... Dr. Russ
Now this may sound dumb, but hey, I'm new at AIR gunning. But in order to conserve money and ammo since there seems to be a shortage, during the leading-in process would it be possible to reuse the pellets/slugs/whatever by shooting them into water and after cleaning them shoot them again or does the pellet deform enough to cause problems?

I believe the answer is based upon the type of lead used ... for example, soft lead would deform the most... and hard lead would have the greatest problem leading in a barrel... The key here is that soft lead spreads the skirt out, making greater contact with the barrel and greater help in leading it in. Dr. Russ
Have you done any experiments using pure soft tin slugs? About the same cost as copper, and with a powder coat and some lube they would work probably pretty well. Buying Powder coated slugs is definitely a huge benefit at least in my opinion for airguns. And there cheap I get them for 10c each for 357 160grain. Oh also another huge benefit of powder coating is if you have a Slomo camera you can see the bullet more clearly, especially if you youse a bright color like neon green pink ect. Love your videos man I fell in love with airguns ever since I moved here to Michigan, well that and I fell in love with Michigan haha.
Oh also I noticed there are some types of copper slugs that can only go to a max of 1200fps or less. I wonder if that is because they are softer then normal copper, either way though I think tin is a better option then copper

@@russjones7981 the powder coated ones work really well, but you wanna find a bullet company that will supply you with as soft a lead as possible. yeah I’m not into the whole copper idea any way, but I thought it was interesting that some copper bullets can only go to like 1000fps any way for some reason. Djl ... it is good to hear from you. Lithium grease is a quality grease, but I wouldn't coat my pellets with it. The danger is dieseling, and also a large variable in fps ... which would hurt your accuracy. Dr. Russ

Dr. Russ. Hi it's me. I was wondering if you could skip the washing part and just lube the pellets. That is if it is a new tin. I know that washing them will get a lot of the little loose particles of led left on them from the manufacturing proses. And I have seen that you should turn a pcp gun upside down to clean them. Dr. Russ can white vinegar be used to clean the calcium and build up on the pellets? I know it works when I clean hand tools, tool accessories that are all metal, steel, aluminum etc., even cleaning old dirty carry knives, broad heads. Would that work the same on the pellets such as what you were doing? Also here lately and I’m new to the whole airgun movement I’m a longtime powder gun as you call it which is true they use powder to fire yes sir. Here a couple months ago I bought my first real pellet rifle and I’m 52 just always had long guns and pistols but in my community especially this year the squirrel population has exploded and I failed to mention I live in city limits of a pretty good size little city on the south east coast of NC just 50 miles or so from Myrtle Beach, SC. Anyway these pest have cost me a lot of money over the close to 5 years of being a first time homeowner chewing wires after they breached my attic chewing wires to the extent of burning my air handler up and a very hub thermostat then not 3 weeks later chewed the same area of new replaced wired and burned the mother control board up in my brand new carrier 2 ton air handler that I just had replaced. Since then I’ve controlled them from trying to get in the attic again with spraying them with strong pesticides with a big powerful sprayer because the soapy water mix with essential oils I started with spraying them in the beginning with just didn’t have a lasting make them think next time because for those who don’t know those little buggers are underestimated for their thinking, planning and executing their next rampage upon use. Anyway I had to go to extreme measures with advice from my old pesticide spray guy also a good friend who taught me how to do my own place and save that money versus calling him now that’s a true friend thinking about others (his good friends) over contort take my money. Well this past fall they exploded as I stated previously so I started watching lots of videos on here and long story already so I’ll shorten it up I bought a Gamo Shadow Whisper .177 the $106 one from Walmart except looking at it today you’d swear it was a .22 version with all the goodies I’ve added to it plus it makes me feel more like I do when I’m using one of my deer rifles just on a much smaller caliber. So question I have to this long book I just wrote the pellets I’ve been buying always have that light oiley metal dusty stuff all over them and yes I clean all my weapons regularly although more videos on here to learn how to with the Gamo but what is the best way to get these new ones when I get them or do I just leave them as is and use them and just keep my rifle clean as I have been weekly. Yes weekly sometimes twice a week I put that much down range ha wanna say. Help please Dr. Russ want to do everything airgun the right way and learning as I go. Charlie ... it is good to hear from you... and yes, we have a severe destructive critter problem living here in a very rural area. I have a continuing fight keeping them out of the house where they can be very destructive. A full court press includes rat poison in the attic and along side the house where rain doesn't get to them. We also set traps, mostly live traps outside and in the attic to catch them too... and then we often find them under the bird feeders where seeds fall, and shoot them there. I also pour a white powder insect killer around the house several times a year. Insects often do more damage that cant be seen or heard. This keeps termites, carpenter ants and spiders out... I hope this helps you ... lastly, you may have to experiment with different pellet cleaners based upon what is on them. Vinegar often keeps the streaks out of window cleaner ...or substitutes as a laundry softener ... but i dont believe it helps by itself with pellet cleaning. Start with Windex or dawn dish soap.... possibly a de-greaser ... but always finish with a silicone spray ... or something thicker if their velocity is getting over 1050 fps (the speed of sound). Hello Dr. Ross. Let me please say I have ejoyed every one of your videos and taken into notes your tips and tricks.... Love your home and loving family. I have just started into air gunning on a small budget. And, now own a few low budget (air) rifles and hand guns. In your cleaning tips, you talk about the cleaning pellets. What is your tip for cleaning the barrels of guns like the Umarex Fusion 2 and the Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1 .22 caliber break barrel, where people say you can't use those cleaning pellets because of the noise reduction technology? Please help. They can't be twisted off.

It is good to hear from you John Hauser .... First we need all air gun barrels to be "leaded in". This means that all air gun rifling inside the barrels ... under great magnification will show a great many pock holes ... and rough edges. Shooting 300 to 500 lead pellets help smooth all that roughness out as well as fill those tiny pock holes. Any use of a wire brush usually undoes that leading in ... putting you back at ground zero. Many barrel cleaners will do the same damage ... and they are not needed because your pellets are being pushed down the barrel by clean air and not burnt gun powder ... which uses a residue. Pushing a swab down your barrel with silicone or oil is not to clean the barrel ... which a dry swab does very well. Oil and or silicone at any stage of leading in ... and forever ... helps lubricate your barrel and allows your pellets or slugs to slip down the barrel faster and more consistent once the barrel is leaded in. However, oil and silicone can drain back towards the breach if you store your air gun with the stock down... so it is important to store your air rifle with the barrel down for several days after using oil or lube or silicone. Place a clean rag at the end of your barrel which sometimes will show these substances draining out. The issue is that you don't want them draining back towards the breach with filings and other barrel dirt ... into the precision air passages in your air gun. These of course are back near your breach. After a couple of days of no sign of lubricants on the floor cloth ... make it safe to store your air gun upright. I washed a batch of pellets and lubed with motorcyle chain wax as you mentioned. Then, I saw this video. Is there anything to be gained if I would de-wax the pellets lubed with chain wax and re-sprayed with Sta-Bil fogging oil? How would I de-wax? Acetone?
Bill Emshoff... the chain wax is the best for breaking in and polishing your barrel ... but does slow down the velocity ... which may or may not help depending on your air gun and caliber... while the Sta-bil fogging oil is second best... and I have found spray silicone as best once the barrel is broke in and you want both velocity and accuracy... I bought some chain lube for my pellets but it's a wax n,water emulsion formula ,,,,,will this work for the lubing of the pellets that has water mixed in,the wax ,,...not sure how much
Good to hear from you Dennis... I use several types of lubrication. Chain lube is a great wax for slowing some pellets down to their sweet spot of 800 to 950 fps.... while silicone is great to speed up BB's or pellets into that same sweet spot. Dr. Russ
Vinegar will take rust off any old bolt or nut and make it took new, wonder if it would work on pellets too.

Good point ... your choice of spray is based upon your goal. The goal on an air gun is a tight group which can only be had when bb's , pellets. or slugs are going down the barrel in what I call the "sweet spot'. This typically is 850 to 950 fps. A thin spray like silicone will speed your ammo up and a thick spray like motorcycle chain lube is thick and will slow it down. Dr. Russ

I'm still confused. Why do manufacturers like Umarex sell cleaning kits with wire brushes when everyone says to avoid these?
As someone who is totally new to this subject I would buy an air rifle from Umarex and their kit as well and then damage my barrell with it??
Serpent King... I can only guess ... but I believe that a cleaning kit won't sell very fast if the wire brush is missing. Also, the wire brush might clean the barrel best and rarely damages the rifling.... at the same time, a wire brush has two drawbacks. It would probably remove the leading in process... and definitely helps clean powder guns which leave a residue in the barrels ... which air guns do not. Dr. Russ

the supressor like plastic thing has a purpose. Its there to protect the metal barrel from your hands and to prevent rust. Its also easier to grab it there.

Dr. Russ, I finally found your 'cleaning' video and as per usual, very well done. Unfortunately, it left this beginner confused on a couple of points. In an earlier video (2020 maybe) you advocated shooting cotton/wool pellets out the barrel and then backed off that technique in the comments section of the same video. Can you clear this up for me? Another small point; you suggested chain wax for lubing pellets because it contained no oil, but now 'fogging oil' is your choice? What is this rookie missing? Thanks!
KCENDER ... It is good to hear from you ... I certainly did not want to confuse you or any of our other viewers ... Hopefully this note will clear it up... The cotton pellets (not wool) are only available to my knowledge in 22 and 25 calibers. Secondly, there are times that they get hung up in the suppressors at the other end of the barrel .... to me that is not an issue either, but to some it is. Every now and then you should take those suppressors as well as the moderated barrel shrouds and clean them too. Only then might you find remnants of the cotton pellets ... which I don't believe have done any harm. Fortunately, air rifles don't have burning powder or residuals burning down the barrel ... and so cleaning the barrels of an air rifle might be every 500 rounds compared to cleaning powder guns after each use. When using calibers other than those two listed, you still have to run a clean patch down the other barrels on rare occasion. The most important issue is that if you use any type of oil, silicone, chain wax (all of which are fine) on the barrel or on the pellets and slugs ... you need to store the air gun upside down for the next two to three days allowing those cleaning ingredients to slowly move down the barrel ... and out the barrel ends ... and onto a rag that is on the floor. The real issue here is that any liquid that even resembles oil should not have the opportunity to roll back down the barrel towards the breech and carry with it any of the lead or dirt residual found in the barrel .... into the compressed air valves, holes or air mechanisms that can cause some real harm ... even causing your air gun to fail. That said... I use cotton pellets even with suppressors about every 500 rounds ... and I spray all my pellets in their tins ... as well as slugs with chain wax, silicone or even bullet lube. I want them basically covered allowing them to not only seal the compressed air behind them ,,, but to allow them to slide reaching consistent .. maximum velocity going down the barrel. I hope that helps. Dr. Russ

@@drsrussandpaula That does help and I understand that firing a cotton pellet (.22 in my case) will not harm the piston similar to a dry-fire. I take notes watching your videos and get kind of A-retentive about it. My Gamo Magnum is starting to tighten up w/ 50 pellets through it and it's a helluva work out for my old arms! My 10X Maxum feels like a BB gun now. When I get a new trigger screw I will be in business along with some Locktite for the scope. I will ck out the 'Gift' video and thx.

I was in a very dusty and dry environment and my air rifle started to make a grinding noise. I disassembled and wiped everything off and the grind went away. Then it came back and I used just a bit of synthetic oil, very minimal and barely any. I hope I didn’t screw ip, but the grind went away and hadn’t come back.
Joshua Waters... thanks for the tip ... and you did fix the problem correctly. Synthetic oil is excellent for that purpose ... but it too has a life span ... as does everything else. So, plan on using synthetics in the future ... keeping your guns clean. I plan to do another cleaning video in about 30 days and will be including some new things that I have learned on air guns... and particularly their barrels... Isn't lead a lubricant in and of itself? It was used in gasoline to lubricate engine valves before it was determined to be a pollutant. Why would lubricate a lubricant?
Technicaladvisor ... there are a number of different lubricants and a number of different leads... and in the end, you want your barrel rifling to be as smooth as possible. I am planning a video which will come out in about a week... that will show how groups tighten up with different preparation steps and different lubricants. Dr. Russ

Keep in mind that wd40 is mostly kerosene ... which fights rust and loosens bolts. Keep in mind that you want to find the sweet spot to shoot a tight group and that is possible when your velocity is between 850 and 950 fps. WD40 for lubing pellets?
Kenneth ... I have used them all in an effort to find the right pellet and lubricant to tighten up various air guns.... WD-40 has a great many uses ... but keep in mind that it is an oil as well as kerosene which is an oil cutter and cleaner. It actually un-leadens your barrel... and today, I would only use it if a barrel showed any rust ... and I was planning on starting all over in preparing it for accuracy. Dr. Russ

When spraying any lube onto pellets... you want a light spray ... probably two passes over the slugs or pellets ... so that you get a light coating of lube on the outside of the pellet or slug ... which coats the outside skirt and head ... meaning all of the area that will likely make contact with the rifling on the sides of the barrel. Apparently U don't have any 2 cycle engines! Fogging oils were not designed to be sprayed on the fins of the engine! They are designed to be sprayed into the carb of a running engine for interior engine protection. I have watched a lot of Ur vids. Have U ever heard of Kenny Kormmandy?? He was what U are trying to be!!
Robert ... thanks for your comment. It is always good to hear from our viewers. I spray a number of things into carburetors .... to both clean and preserve them. I also spray fogging oil on the outside of all sports equipment including motorcycles, wave runners, Atvs, Utes, and compressors ... before storing them away for our Michigan winters.... and if I don't, the aluminum fins, etc corrode and turn dull grey. I am not trying to be like anyone else, including Kormmandy.... Dr. Russ

I bought a new Hatsan 457. While sighting in the scope, around the 5th shot and a top off, the rifle dumped to empty, promptly kicking my arse. Any reason for this to happen? As I mentioned, this is a brand new rifle.
