- Hello Everyone and welcome to another adventure with J & K. This time around we are in the Bavarian alps of Germany. Can't believe we actually had the opportunity to visit the beautiful alpine town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Try saying that ten times fast. Absolutely one of the most pretty towns we have ever had the chance to visit. The food, hospitality, shopping, and sites were top notch. Oh and of course we can't forget the German beer.
The adventure didn't stop there though. We also took the Zugspitze railway up to the top of Germany. Wow what an incredible experience that was. Once at the top we could see 360 degrees of mountain peaks. The likes of which we had never seen before. Coming down the Zugsptize we rode the tram car. Just wait until you see the views we saw from that tram.
After that awesome experience it was off to Neuschwanstein Castle. The same castle Walt Disney and his wife visited before the creation of Disneyland. This castle was actually Walt's inspiration for the Disney Castle. Guess that is the reason it's one of the most visited castles in the world and number one for Germany.
We had a chance to stay at two fantastic hotels. Unfortunately one one night at the Romantic Alpenhotel Waxenstein and then a couple at Edelweiss Resort. Both were fantastic and we would highly recommend them both. Edelweiss is for retired and active duty US military so not everyone will have the chance to experience it but if you do then you have to check it out. Such a fantastic deal for our troops which in our opinion is awesome.
Overall our trip to Germany was all we had ever hoped it would be and then some. Such a beautiful Country with such great food, beer, shopping, nature, etc. You name it they have it. If you never thought of visiting add it to your bucket list you will not be disappointed.
Thank you for watching and for your support. If you are new to the channel and you enjoy travel content please consider subscribing. We would love to have you. All the best everyone and safe travels.

You were in Grainau, the city next to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. And the lake you saw from above is the Eibsee. It's wonderful to walk the trail around the lake. Wonderful video ... Thank you. My husband climbed up to the Zugspitze but there was not as much snow and it wasn't as cloudy the day he climbed it.
Thank you so much. It was absolutely beautiful there. You are very lucky.
We had a fantastic time!! Way too short, especially for the insane flight experience there and back. 🙃
Can’t agree more.
Wow. What an incredible trip.
Yes it was
Awesome. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
You’re welcome
Thank you so much! Your Video really does help with information about getting to this wonderful place. Thank you. Kind regards. David Bad Salzuflen. Germany.
Hi David. Glad you found it helpful. We absolutely loved our visit and would go back in a second if we could.
@adventuresofjandk thanks for the reply. If you do come back, please let me know, would be good to meet up for a beer or 2....or 3.....or 4....
@daviddawkins1 now you’re talking my language. 😂
Good video very entertaining. My wife and I are going next june
Much appreciated. What an absolutely beautiful part of the world.
Thanks for this video guys, my wife and I will be going to Germany in spring of 2025 and Zugspitze and Neuschwanstein are on our list of places to visit. Watching your video I learned you can take either a train or the tram up to Zugspitze (my wife doesn't like heights so we will take the train), and you can either take a horse-drawn carriage or a bus up to Neuschwanstein castle (or you can walk). Lots of other little details, like many towns being completely closed on Sundays, are going to help us plan our trip better. Thanks again, vielen dank!!!
A glad you found it helpful. What an amazing place. You both are going to absolutely love it.
Beautiful video. We plan on visiting the Zugspitze in Mid April. I can only imagine it going to be more colder and with more heavier snowfall at the top. Also, if you didn't have that much cloud cover at the peak, the views would've been insanely beautiful. Thanks for creating and putting together, what I think is the best video on Zugspitze!!
Appreciate the kind words. It’s a beautiful area.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! We are planning visiting in May . We plan to travel from Munich by train to garmisch . Any idea if this hotel is connected from train station by bus or not?
Thank you. Sorry but we live in America and that was our first trip there so no idea about hotels. Hope you have an awesome trip.
Wow! Just incredible! Looks like you guys had an epic trip Jason. When Kim said she was taking the tram down the mountain I was hoping you would give her the camera. Great job Kim!
Epic is a great description Joe. Wish we had more time at each location but we did all we could. Having my sister as a tour guide was awesome though so as to not waste much time.
Absolutely fabulous guys 👏👏👏 thanks for sharing this should get a million views 👌
Thanks so much. We would be happy with a few thousand but would take a million and not complain. 😂
Imagine building that place on the mountain!!!
Ya I can’t even wrap my brain around it. Took some folks much smarter than me. 😂.
What did you think of Ludwig's bed with all the woodwork???
That was pretty insane.
Been there last March, because I am an avid skier, but the feeling you guys felt from the train to the end on visiting Zugspitze actually was the same! 😱 insane! Great video, but also great sense of humor.
Much appreciated. Ya it was pretty scary for me that is for sure. 😂
Great video, thanks!
Thank you Dennis.
Nice!
Thank you Joe.
I lived and worked in Germany with the military for 18 years and I was blessed to live in Garmisch for two years, 2001|2003, and have visited dozens of times. When I first visited in 1973 I declared it the most beautiful on earth...and I still feel that way. The last time I was there was December 2022, stayed at the Edelweiss, the next time will be May 2024. Thanks for sharing, it made me homesick and I teared up numerous times
We really appreciate that. I would agree it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. Would go back in a second if we could.
loved being in germany the people are top notch and yes the driving is way easier than italy.
We had a great driver. 👍
Your final day view!👍👍👍👍👍
The juxtaposition Venice to Germany after hours is interesting and culture is interesting.
No doubt about that. Couldn’t be more different.
Fantastic! I’m with Jason, don’t do heights either, but the tram ride looks like it was worth it. The views are amazing. Sumo wrestling was hilarious. Good tip about staying at military family resort, too. Tim has been to Germany a few times for work but I have yet to see anything other than a couple airports. It’s on my bucket list!
Hi Janet. It was an awesome trip. Hope do we can make it back again one day. So much more to see.
What time of year was this trip?
We were there in May
What time of year was it when your parents went wearing shorts and tanks? We are going in September and I'm trying to figure out the weather!
which month did you visit:?
We were there at the end of May and it was perfect. Italy was so hot but Germany was perfect
@@adventuresofjandk oh wow it was still that freezing on the top of the zugspitze? Yikes!
@@accless510 ya it was insane going from close to 100 degrees to freezing
This kind of landscape you will only find in the very south of Germany.
True but boy was it something.
Burger King? 🤦♂️
Literally the only thing we could find for fast food. Would not have been our first choice that is for sure. Although it was good. 😂
