The company I worked for in Australia offered me a job in Germany back in 2005. I accepted and stayed for around 14 months and my apartment backed on to the Rhine. Every weekend I was off exploring the little towns of the Rhine and Mosel. Looking back now they were some of the happiest days of my life and I do miss Germany, it is so under promoted and underrated. If you ever have the chance to visit then do ....you will not be disappointed!
I have always been fascinated by the German culture, language, civilization, heritage and people. I love their landscape, cities and countryside. I love their great composers, their football, technology and love for meat and beer. Love from Uganda. Hope I visit there someday.
while checking some of the travelers documentaries/videos i must say i am amazed how indian people are always smiling, cheerful and always welcoming new guests/travelers along their journey, regardless of where they came from. thats zero prejudice right on the spot. My Sister died in Rothenburg o.d.T in a WW2 raid, my older Brother was born in Rothenburg o.d.T. My Parents are buried there. R.I.P all of you ! My younger Brother still lives there, with his family ! Greetings from Australia

I was stationed in Nuremberg in the early 80s. Beautiful country. People are remarkably friendly. Volksmarching every weekend. Festivals. And beer. Real beer. Every town in Bayern has its own beer. I hope to visit again before I kick the bucket.
Went to Rothenburg several times. A great town to walk around. Loved walking the ramparts and visiting a chapel with a beautiful wooden plaque full of saints.
it surely is worth a visit if you plan your trip well. nothing is more regretable than a not well planed travel wich will leave you disappionted. But im sure you will work it out :)
Germany is my favorite place to visit out of all of Europe. France especially Paris is hugely overrated by Americans due to Hollywood movies. Germany’s little fairytale villages with cobblestones and Fachwerkhäuser are utterly charming. All walkable and shoppable.

I lived in Hessen from 72 to 96. I used to go to Bingen and sit and people watch while having coffee and cake. Took a few Rhine River cruises and kayaked on the Rhein. It was fun. I went to Germany every year to see my mom until she passed away. I still miss Germany. Wish I had done more traveling but since it was home and I never thought about returning stateside I didn't travel as much as I should have. Regret it to this day.

I remember as a child when my brothers started a fight in the historic streets of Rothenburg and they were suddenly surrounded by a crowd of Asian tourists taking pictures.

Boat ride on the Rhine so good between St. Goar & Bacharach and stayed in Hotel Kranenturm a 14th century building. BEST TOUR EVER!!!

If you are a patriot you love your country and you take care of your enviorment. When you are proud of your history and culture you do everything to rebuild your homeland. But sadly many countries in the world don´t have this all and thats why they don´t do anything to build their lands.

I was there this summer. What an amazing town, i loved the garden and the town sqare and walking on the walls the most. But there was this kid spinning a wheel on a musical box that made some amazing music. What a great experience, and it thanks to this video we went there. Same for Bamberg, amazing place
Last year i went to Rothenburg Ober Tauber, in Germany...it seems to me such a beautiful place. Its romanthic atmosphere, little streets and old houses. I think I will come back again next year. Congratulations for this video.
Just came back from a trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A bus trip from Munich to Harburg Castle and Rothenburg was a highlight of it time in Germany. Rothenburg on a summer Sunday was not as crowded as I expected. The shepherds’ church built into the town defenses was fascinating and we enjoyed a climb to the top of city hall.
We were the in July 2018. This medieval village was amazing. We walked the wall. Took the tour with The Night Watchman. Stayed in a nice hotel. I can’t say enough about the village
Germany’s Mosel and Rind river was a main river the Mosel river a great holiday was spent in this area much to see and castles to visit with lots history. We took the Viking River Cruise on the Rhine from Amsterdam to Budapest. I highly recommend this cruise. Rothenburg was a side trip which added to this wonderful trip.
Very nostalgic watching this video. My wife and I lived in Germany for a year early seventies. Burg Eltz was one of our favorites. The day we were there, the German air force had decided to do to practice strafing runs up the hill toward the castle. Quite a memory of the mix of cultures and times.

I was in Rüdesheim during August absolutely wonderful place. Marvelous cable car ride to the top giving you these spectacular views over the Rhine and the vineyards. Always the downer for me are the souvenier shops, you pick an item you like and find its made in China. It goes straight back on the shelf, I don't visit any country to buy a souvenier from China unless I am in China. There is nothing like finding the local hand crafts.
Erin Maria i think Tridhos is absolutely right. If you visit a country you should support the local. And the locals should sell local goods in touristic places. No matter if it's for the authenticity (?), economy or the receiver of the souvenir... No offence to chinese products. But if i am on a visit to X, i wanna bring home something an honest fellow of X crafted! Souvenirs made in another country are sad, period to me.
Wow, I'm thrilled to see my home region from 18 years ago. I was 7 when this was produced in 2002, now I'm 25. So much has changed, but it still looks familiar and feels the same.
In 2011 I rode a bicycle from Beijing to Amsterdam, riding along the Main and between Bingen and Boppard. I try to plan my bicycle trips with the UNESCO Heritage Site map as a guide. I was fascinated by all of the medieval tons and castles.
Give attention to the fact that there is more than one town in Germany named Rothenburg. This beautiful medival town is "Rothenburg ob der Tauber"/ "Rothenburg o. d. T.". Just in case....
Why do we in the USA tear down the beautiful historical buildings and lose our charm?? They tore down a nice large library built in the 1960s to build a new one. I asked what was wrong with the present building. They said water problems or something like that. Not leaks. I said, what about the beautiful, huge buildings in Europe that they keep maintaining. They said I don't know.
+MICHAEL DAVIS in the USA you have the boom-bust culture; as soon as something isn't profitable you tear it down or abandon it. There are 1,000s of abandoned buildings in the USA, anything from 100 years old to the 1970s, all having historical value, from train stations to vacation getaways, all rotting away.

I saw A-10 Thunderbolts weaving up the Rhine from the castle in Bacharach in 1980.

Always the downer for me are the souvenier shops, you pick an item you like and find its made in China. It goes straight back on the shelf, I don't visit any country to buy a souvenier from China unless I am in China. There is nothing like finding the local hand crafts.

Erin Maria i think Tridhos is absolutely right. If you visit a country you should support the local. And the locals should sell local goods in touristic places. No matter if it's for the authenticity (?), economy or the receiver of the souvenir... No offence to chinese products. But if i am on a visit to X, i wanna bring home something an honest fellow of X crafted! Souvenirs made in another country are sad, period to me.
Wow, I'm thrilled to see my home region from 18 years ago. I was 7 when this was produced in 2002, now I'm 25. So much has changed, but it still looks familiar and feels the same.
That was a beautiful tour, i will think of that tour when i get to Switzerland , and i was on Rhine River Tour out of Frankfurt and enjoy it.

I stayed in Oberwesel and the server at the outdoor bistro pointed to the point on the hill where our wine had come from. What a great experience!
In 2011 I rode a bicycle from Beijing to Amsterdam, riding along the Main and between Bingen and Boppard. I try to plan my bicycle trips with the UNESCO Heritage Site map as a guide. I was fascinated by all of the medieval tons and castles.

Give attention to the fact that there is more than one town in Germany named Rothenburg. This beautiful medival town is "Rothenburg ob der Tauber"/ "Rothenburg o. d. T.". Just in case....

Why do we in the USA tear down the beautiful historical buildings and lose our charm?? They tore down a nice large library built in the 1960s to build a new one. I asked what was wrong with the present building. They said water problems or something like that. Not leaks. I said, what about the beautiful, huge buildings in Europe that they keep maintaining. They said I don't know.
Well they have a awesome culture Americas culture is not as rich because of how early ago it has been made
+MICHAEL DAVIS in the USA you have the boom-bust culture; as soon as something isn't profitable you tear it down or abandon it. There are 1,000s of abandoned buildings in the USA, anything from 100 years old to the 1970s, all having historical value, from train stations to vacation getaways, all rotting away.
